Puffing up his cheeks Meredith prepared another Scald attack. He wanted the water to be so hot that it would burn the ghost instead of just injuring him.

The boiling water swept past the tendrils, burning Mephistopheles. The pain was negligible at the moment however, so he raised his hand, willing the tendrils to attack the buizel.

Meredith fell back when the tendrils hit. He quickly got back up and swung his tails violently. Hopefully the scald burn he had caused would deal some damage.

Mephistopheles phased out of reach of the thrashing tails. Once he gained a bit of distance, he launched an arcing blade of darkness at the buizel with blinding speed.

The blade of darkness threw Meredith back into the water. It took him quite some time to get moving again. He came out of the water and growled lightly. Then he was an orange blur as he came after the ghost using a Pursuit attack.

Mephistopheles was knocked back from the force of the attack, slamming into the riverbank. That, combined with the burn he still feeling, made it obvious it was time to hang it up.

He quickly flew over to Lenore, grabbing her by the hand and phased them both into the ghost world. The emerged a ways away, exhausted.

Meredith panted as he watched the ghost go flying. His eyes narrowed as the ghost suddenly flew over to the human and then they disappeared. He sighed and shook his head. There was something wrong with that ghost, freaking out over him just going over to the human. Gathering his strength he made his way to the lake and just floated on the water.
