Gene would choose to ignore Danny's statement about Prom not being romantic- it was good to keep the ghoul naive of some of the 'romantic' happenings that tended to happen during prom; Gene had read the magazines, and...well...crap she was blushing already.
"I suppose I could give Prom a shot. I'll need a dress though..." The ghoul trailed off, a look of pondering creeping into her eyes. Where could she find a dress on such short notice?

Danny's eyes lit up. "You mean you'll go? YAY!" She was off the bed ready to dance in celebration, when Gene said she didn't have a dress. Uh oh. That wasn't good! You couldn't go to prom without a dress- Danny knew, she'd tried!
She thought about it for a moment. She had a ton of dresses stuffed WAY WAY WAY back in her closet from all the times her mother had sent them, expecting Danny to wear them. Would Gene like them though? Would they even be prom quality?
"Um, I have a few dresses ... D'you wanna come look? Or ... I guess we could go shopping." That didn't sound like a good idea at all though. "I don't really want to go shopping..." she said quietly.
This was for Gene though! "But- but I'll do it okay!"

"Yeah, I'll go." She gave her friend a weak smile, getting off the bed and pulling her into a hug. Hugs were good after making decisions; and it would keep Danny from setting Gene's nice room on fire. After releasing the hug, Gene herself felt a bit happier. Prom! Hopefully there would be no after-prom shenanigans involved...actually, there would be none. She'd make sure of that.
"Oh no, I'm sure one of your dresses will do just fine hon. I'm sure they're all lovely." Lovely because you're a demon Danny that means you're freaking rich and have awesome dresses. Also; they're probably flame retardant. Always a good thing when you're around a dancing fire demoness.

The day done, and the dress picked, Gene told Danny good night with another hug and a kiss on the cheek. "You're wonderful Danny. I'll see you at prom."
