Lillum knew what he meant--but found it hard to explain.
"As I am not an official member of the Guild or any for that matter--my father finds me a vigilante rather than a peacekeeper! He says it is not right for his daughter to do herself dishonor by fighting alone. I swear all he thinks of is his job..." she mumbled off about him being a jerk or something of that nature and was quick to return to her happy state, drink in hand.
"A toast to new friends then!" She raised her glass.

He nodded slowly. It was unfortunate that was how it was between Lillium and her father. He did smile when she proposed a toast and raised his glass as well. "To new friends!" He chuckled and took a drink. "So Lillium, other than capturing thieves, what do you do in your spare time?"

Lillum was drinking when he asked the question and her drink, set down on the table as she leaned back once more, was empty.
"Well for the most part I visit friends and fly and swim in the pond outside of town. You?" she asked, she did not have too many friends as she was raised in the mountians with other sparcely located pegasi but her wings--being so different, preffered the temperate weather of the valleys and southern areas.

"I'm afraid my days aren't all that interesting. I spend most days laying in a field and staring at the sky or reading. But that is mainly because I have nothing to do with my time otherwise. I've only recently acquiired this new hobby."

Lillum looked perplexed.
"You do not have to work..? How does one manage that? Are you a thief too?" she questioned, brows now furrowed, ready to think the worst of him if his answer was not true.
She hated thieves and spies...Couldn't stand them! She supposed she inherrited that from her father...like most things in her appearance. She had remembered her brother--but her mother? She had drawn a complete blank. She knew she had one but...not where to find her.

Haruo's demeanor changed when she asked if he was a thief. His features hardened, his back straightened. "I am no thief, if I have need of money or food I work to help the farmers in the countryside. I said most of my days not all of them. For you to assume such a thing so quickly is insulting."

Lillim felt sheepish and her ears fell bakwards, head turning to avoid his gaze.
"Indeed. Well... if you're so insulted you can simply leave." It might have been her lack of knowledge on social interraction but it was hurtful, and she knew it. Her temper once more got the best of it.
Lillum let herself turn sour for a moment, her wings bristled where there werwe feathers.

Haruo watched her for a moment and sighed dragging a hand over his face. "I'm not going anywhere Lillium."

((lolz! poor guy has not idea he stepped into a hornets nest))
Lillum finally relaxed back into her chair. Her blush was enough to say she was sorry. She often dealt with people who tried to either decieve her or trick her so the outburst as someone she did not know at all was uncalled for. The sheepish look became clearer and she spoke again, this time less sure ofherself.
On a normal day, her voice was clear and smooth with the assurance of what she was saying was both kind and truthful. She was treading lightly now, not entirely sure how to apologise properly.
"You know I think maybe I should go--I--I--have training to do?" it sounded like a question but it was an excure to not feel so awkward asfter making such a fool of herself.

Haruo settled a hand on hers and smiled softly. "That sounded more like a question than a fact, Lillium. You don't have to run off on my account."

Lillum looked confused a moment and then her features eased the tension and ahe sighed.
"Are you sure you want someone as untamed as Me being around you?" she asked, exasperatedly, her eyes rolling to the side of the room to avoid looking him straight on.
She wished her wings would just will her away--sadly things did not work like that...

Haruo let out a laugh, "Why not? You've already made my day that much more interesting. Besides didn't we just toast to a new found friendship?"

Lillum looked at him with a quirked brow.
"Friendship si like a road--it has its bumps and turns," she nodded and sat back down.
"You want to get out fo here then?" she asked, still a little antsy despite her newfound friend's approval of her insecurities.

Haruo smiled lightly and stood. "Sure, sounds like a good idea." He held a hand out to her. "Where would you like to go?"

Lillum watched him stand and offer a hand whihc, begrudgingly she took. He was strange...why so formal himself ? She puzzled a moment over that and where they intended to go for the rest of their time together.
"We can always go fishing?" she asked, looking out the window to the little pond nearby. More often than not she would catch nothing with her pole but if she was truly hungry she could easily dive in like a hawk and catch herself a decent meal.
