The Hyakutaean People
Plural/Possessive:; Hyakutaean
Main Inspiration:; Fantasy Druids, Nature Worship, Ancient/Medieval China and Japan, Drowtales
Identifying Traits:; Slender, long limbs, larger eyes, slightly pointed ears, tall (5'9" to 7'), androgyny wasn't uncommon in appearance, generally 'forest-y' tones (Color Guide)
Fashion:; Large amounts of jewelry, silks, cotton-like fabrics, semi-precious stones, jade, see-through fabrics, nature-inspired designs, barefoot indoors and during 'summers'; the color combination of pale yellow, willow-leaf green, and black was reserved ONLY for the current Sailor Hyakutake. Otherwise, any color and combination was fair game: the Hyakutaeans were a colorful lot.
Random Facts:;
- There was no distinction between 'male' and 'female' clothing.
Gender roles were VERY fluid. The only thing a woman could do that a man couldn't was carry and birth a child. The only thing a man could do that a woman couldn't was father a child. Other than that...there were no set gender roles.
Hyakutaens were a very long-lived people, much like the trees their senshi drew power from.
When a Hyakutaean died, they were cremated and a willow sapling was planted with their ashes. To them, this represented the spirit moving on to a new life from the old.
To the Hyakutaeans, love did not see gender, and a person was capable of loving more than one person romantically. Same-sex partnerships and multiple partners were common and accepted.
Marriage was taken very seriously; though one could get married to multiple partners, divorce was something looked down on, as it was considered 'uprooting' oneself and those one was connected to. Hyakutaeans often didn't get married until they'd been living with a partner for an Earth decade or more. The bearer of the Willow Jade Crystal, however, did not gain the title of Emperor or Empress until AFTER he or she married.
Because of the nature of the Willow Jade Crystal, anyone of strong royal blood born in the generation after the current Emperor/Empress was raised with the possibility of being the next bearer in mind. (Strong blood is up to 4th cousins.)
The Willow Jade Crystal, the leader crystal held by Sailor Hyakutake, often passed to a living relative of the last bearer, similar to the Ginzuishou. The largest difference, however, is that the crystal would pass ONLY when the previous bearer died.
All prayers were sung. A clear, sweet-sounding singing voice was treasured, for it was said that prayers sung in such a voice would reach Chuuxin itself.

World
Though small, the Comet was a lush place, full of greenery and life. Because of the way they lived, and the technologies they developed to keep the world lit to a degree, it is said their civilization truly started while near a star. Trees were in abundance, especially the willows which their senshi drew power from.
