"Yes, I can," He laughed, not bothering to hide his amusement as he took another sip of tea, eyeing the ghoul seated beside him, "I'll tell them that I'm already taking a ghoul named Amphi... And what makes you so sure that no one else will ask you to prom?"
He raised an eyebrow, "Did he mention why he can't be friends with you?" That was really odd, to say the least. As she went on to talk about a 'Danny', and how alike they were, he had to chuckle at the fact that she was a fire demon... Since technically, fire's the opposite of water, and as a mermaid, Amphi is a water-based Halloween creature, "I see... You sound like you had been pretty busy." Out making friends, and all.
"Indeed, although I'm not sure what the contents of this field trip would be," He replied with a laugh; with all the negativity from students regarding field trips, you would think that they know better than to go on one by now. He grinned in reply to her question, "I had been fine."
And fine is a nice, relative term to use.

"Yes!" She clapped her hands, "I've never had a real date to Prom. Or a date at all! This is really exciting!" She admitted to Thana before nodding, "Of...Of course! I don't think anyone else will truthfully." she nodded more, her head bobbing, "Because...I am just friends with the people I know!" She smiled at him.
"ah...He said...Um..." She laced her fingers and then looked away from Thana. And then got up to pace in front of him and looked at Thana nervously before..."He said...that um...He was..." She flushed, her head turning down before spitting it out. "He was attracted to me and that I was a problem waiting to happen but..." She flushed, "I don't see how that means we can't be friends though! He even threatened to kiss me to not be friends with me!" She paced away from Thana now, her Levathia threading through her legs to comfort her. "Yes! Been very busy! And School is almost and things have been fun!" She nodded.
"Eh...." She thought hesitantly of the field trips before looking away. "had been? Your not anymore? did something happen? Are you hurt?!?!" She leaned over to examine the reaper. "Is it something I can Heal for you Thana?"

"A date," He explained, a grin on his lips, "Is what two people go on to in order to understand each other a little more. I am sure it applies to prom and friends as well, Amphi, not that it matters much to you right now." Since she's already agreed to go with him, and she wasn't the type to back out of something like this.
At her description of the boil, he first raised an eyebrow, as if doubting her, before bursting into laughter, his grin widening, "He sounds like a 5-year old boil who is afraid of getting cooties from a ghoul, which will explain his rationale of using a kiss as a threat..." In short, he thinks that this boil is an idiot. A first class idiot who thinks that he's a flirt, probably, yet is afraid of being in a committed relationship... A child.
"I had been fine, and I am still fine," He chuckled, finishing the tea, and putting teh cup back down on the table, "Perhaps you should worry more about yourself, my little mermaid... Have you decided on an outfit for prom? Perhaps I could compliment you~"

"Oh?" She cocked her head at him, "Then have we been on...many dates?" She was trying to catergorize the word in her meanings. So far it meant someone to escort her to prom. Though she knew that there was other meanings. After all, she had a lunch date with Sheridan and Ghoul dates with Lizzy and Xiu. "Well if it doesn't matter then...It doesn't matter!" She smiled up at him, completely oblivious to his thoughts.
She blushed though when he burst out in laughter at her and her...friendship...thing with Roch. Her cheek puffed a little before blinking. "Is...cooties a kissing disease?!?!" She stared at Thana before flushing again, "And he was serious about kissing too! he even kissed me..." She pointed to the corner of her mouth and frowned, as if it was super important. "Right here. It kinda of upset me because he kissed so easily but...I contemplated the advice you gave me. but I couldn't hurt him and he was just trying to prove his point...I guess...." She was of course talking about kicking Roch in the balls but...she didn't have the conviction to hurt someone like that over something only she really deemed special. Thana had told her after all, Kissing was natural and sometimes, not always special to others.
Shame because Amphi wanted her kisses to be treasures after all. "I do not think he is 5yrs old after all. But he is nice though. He saved me from two guys who were being rude, and his grandma and grandpa are nice. And he has trouble trusting others...." She blinked.
"Oh..." She blinked, drawing her hand back before shaking her head. There was a little doubt at the mention of him being fine. "A dress! Perhaps a short one though...I might have to ask a...ghoulfriend for help?" She blinked. "I think It'll be blue though....Cause thats a pretty color. Is that okay?" She looked at him. Some how, she thought he would look good in any color he'd choose.

It actually took a while for the laughing to subside, a grin remaining on his lips, "It is a world used by scarelings, Amphi... Scarelings afraid of holding hands with someone, or showing them affection - such as kissing, acting like it would cause a deadly disease when it is perfectly harmless."
He raised an eyebrow, frowning a bit before stroking his chin, his expression turning serious, even if it was a brief change, "So, this boil, Roch, made you uncomfortable?" A pause, and he leaned forward, "I see... He doesn't want to be friends because he is attracted to you, he disrespected you by kissing you instead of using words to shake you off... And then turned around to help you? This boil will no doubt play hard to get, like he doesn't care about you, but run to defend you if you're in trouble, before running off again. It is an emotional form of bullying, my little mermaid. If I asked you to stay away from him, you will not listen, I imagine?" His expression was neutral as he leaned away, amber eyes on the ghoul seated beside him.
"A blue dress," He chuckled, grinning again, "I should have guessed... Yes, that would be fine, but I do not envision myself wearing an all-blue suit, just so we are clear on that." Did he just make a joke with Amphi that did not involve him laughing at her?
Yes he did.

She continued to beam at him before making another "o" face. "A word used by children." She frowned, she wasn't a child......"I see. So it is children adversed to affections? Ah...Landwalkers are so odd." She was totally not one to talk....
She watched his face turn from laugh to serious, watching him. She was uncomfortable only because she had not dealt with such a individual after all. She had never been threatened by a boil, with something that seemed harmless as a kiss. But what made her also uncomfortable was the thought of kisses. It really shouldn't be such a big deal to the mermaid but as of late, she was just thinking of them more and more. "N...No. He was just...." She lied about her uncomfortableness from the Reaper, she didn't want him to get in trouble after all. If there was trouble to be had anyways. "I...but..." She looked at Thana as he went on, "It's....bullying?" She stared at him wide eyed before getting up to pace again. She flushed though at his request and meekly added, "I would stay away if Thana asked me too, because Thana is....my dearest friend but..." there was always a but...."But...." She seemed to be stuck on her thoughts, of how to proceed from there.
If she continued to talk to Roch, would she lose Thanatos as her friend then? Or would it mean more trouble for both the reapers. Something inside Amphi's womanly instinct said that perhaps she was asking for trouble later down the road. Another part of her just wanted to be friends with people. To immerse herself so fully in the landwalkers it would help ease the constant homesick feeling she got. Amphi may have been a shy ghoul, but the discovery of friends had helped her open even more....and those friends were important to her.
It confused the mermaid, as much as the talk had when Thana had claimed her as his did. She wanted to understand, to elaborate.
"Thana...." She was going to say something more when he mentioned the color of her dress and flushed. An all blue suit? "Oh well....I think you would look quite dashing Thana....in all blue I mean." She reached down to tug at his jacket, smiling. "But I think you look better in black." She blushed again. But instead of taking a seat next to him, she continued to stand. Still confused, and still unsure of how to proceed.
Maybe it would be better just to focus on Prom instead of forcing thoughts for the Mermaid.

"You're not very good at lying," He pointed out with a chuckle, clearly amused at Amphi's attempt to lie to him, as his gaze followed her pacing, "It is a form of emotional bullying... Bullying does not always involve physical actions. It can be in the form of hurtful words, or mentally exhausting you by playing hard to get. I've done my part by warning you, everything else is up to you." He wouldn't get upset unless Amphi got upset first... Maybe.
"Oh, but I'll look dashing regardless," He grinned, standing up when she fiddled with his jacket, "I hope that you know how to dance with a partner at formal functions such as prom, because I'll be asking you for a dance."

She looked down before fiddling her fingers. "So...so." And then looked away because she had NEVER gotten away with a lie from the Moirae Reaper. Nevermind that she was completely obvious about her lies, through body motions, facial expressions and shaky voice.
"I see...." She tucked that thought away and looked away. the odds of her getting upset were only if Roch forced another kiss on her...or continued to dodge her efforts to be friends. After all, Amphi was a natural postitive mermaid. Albeit a totally confused and lost one but still....
She frowned at his words, crossing her arms under her chest and raising an eyebrow at him. "I think your dashing regardless as well." She blinked as he stood up before flushing. "I...Lw taught me how to dance so....I should be okay!" She nodded, "Oh but...I've never danced with....a...um....boil..." She waited...."But I will do okay!"

"Oh? I suppose we will find out how well you can dance with a boil during prom then," He chuckled, taking her hand, giving her a bow before gently raising her arm up and turning his hand, seeing if he could make Amphi do a turn for him through the use of physical cues.

Amphi blinked as he took her hand, staring as he bowed, offering a cocked stare before flushing. He rose her arm up, palm turning. Lw had taught Amphi well when she did a small light stepped twirl, remembering only because Lw had done the cue with Amphi often.
All she had to think of was the Dancing werewolf ghoul and how she danced with her. She stopped though, flushing again.
"That...wasn't too bad." She could just twirl all night. Yes. her hand came to rest on his shoulder, her other still placed delicatly in his up turned palm. "Do...I pass?" She smiled at him.

"You get a pass," He grinned, shaking his head as he moved his hands to her waist, lifting her up rather easily as he turned, and placed down down on the edge of her bed;he could entertain her by dancing with her now, but- "No spoilers till we get to prom... Besides, I believe I should be getting back soon."
He really hadn't expected to stay this long.

"That's good!' She continued to smile up at him before squeaking at him picking her up. She had a brief moment where she clutched him tightly, before letting him drop her on her bed.
She stared up at him curiously before laughing. "Okay! I will wait eagerly for our dance then." She nodded, remembering she too had things to do and couldn't get caught up with dancing in her room. "Ah...Let me see you out then since I too need to leave." She jumped off her bed, grabbing her book bag, looking around to make sure she didn't forget anything
"Okay!" she beamed up at him before leading him out. "thank....you for asking me to be your date." She briefly looked at him, shutting the door behind them. "I'll see...you then." she flushed and then turned to hurry off. Her face flaming red.
