"Yeah, was," Yuri said, putting emphasis on the last word. Not seeming bothered by her mention of it this time. "I quit."
He then stood up fully and looked towards the park again. "The League, huh?" While he personally had no intention of becoming a League trainer and following their stuffy rules, he was a little curious. Hm... perhaps this could be interesting after all.
He then felt the tug on his arm and his attention went back to Tymiko.
"Okay, okay, I'll go with you." He said with laughter in his voice.

Ivory couldn't resist the siren song of a formal event. Especially one that took place in the evening. Rather than wear her tired purple coat and round dark glasses, the girl managed to pick out one of her current projects for the evening. One of her passions was dabbling in fashion. During her quiet evenings, she worked with the company of her trusted Pokemon to make some stylish outfits. For something as important as the League coming to visit Kodo, the girl had decided on a dress she had made based off of a Pidove. It wasn't symmetrical, having sections of feathers that stuck out on one half, but the other half lacked such detailing. Symmetry was such a boring thing when it came to fashion. Ivory wasn't the sort to leave Opal in a Pokeball. She was, however, the sort to let the Pokemon wander if she needed to be alone for a bit. Once she was outside of the park, she couldn't help but squint slightly at all of the bright blurs of lights. "Opal... be a good girl, okay?" With a small smooch on the false ditto's head, the girl began to make her way towards the gathering. She reached into her matching purse and pulled out a slightly more stylish pair of dark glasses to put over her eyes. Apparently in the middle of the evening she still needed a bit of assistance for her eyesight. "Ditto dit..." The Pokemon sighed before attempting to glance around. It would be boring to hang around in this jelly-jelly form.
Eventually, the Pokemon did manage to catch sight of something. With a hazy glow, her form shifted into something a bit fluffier...

"Yay!" the girl cried gleefully, doing another little jump as she let go of Yuri and ran toward the end of the sidewalk. Waving frantically, she urged him to follow. "Let's go, let's go! It's already started! Maybe we'll see some people we know there!"
When they'd started to get a move on, Tymiko leaned closer to Yuri, looking up to ask quietly, "You didn't quit because you got arrested, did you...?"

Yuri started to follow Tymiko and blinked down at her a moment before waving off her question. "Naw, the arresting came after." But now wasn't the time to get into that.
He paused at the entrance to the park, surveying all the people dressed up in their finest garb. And here he was, dressed in his casual attire. Boots unbuttoned, sleeves rolled up, with his shirt open and exposing part of his chest. Not to mention that sword still dangled at his side, and he had a Pokemon with a huge jagged scar on its face.
A sly grin spread across Yuri's face. Oh yes, this could be fun indeed.

"...Oh." Instead of seeming alarmed or shocked by this revelation, the girl looked at Yuri with a kind of new-found admiration. "Cool!" And then she was off running toward the lights again.
"I'm going to go look at the party people! Do you want to eat first?" she asked, looking back at the long-haired young man. "I can meet you back here later."

Well that was new, and Yuri was again amused as Tymiko found his quitting the military and getting arrested as something cool. Most people tend to think it was a bad thing.
"Sure, I'll meet up with you later," Yuri said as he started to wander into the crowd. Among all the suits and frilly dresses, he kinda stuck out like a sore thumb. He earned his fair share of stares, but didn't seem to care. While he wasn't causing trouble, he didn't exactly hide the sword that dangled from his hand either. Repede just trotted along behind him, as if things were completely natural.
"Oh hey, booze," Yuri commented as he snatched a glass of champagne from a tray as a waiter passed.

Tambrey had only brought Palu and Ella with her and both were tucked away in their pokeballs as she arrived at the event. The grunt looked up, noting all the lighting, first, before taking a proper look at the scene around her. She'd been apprehensive about this, but had persuaded herself to come. It wasn't that she didn't like dresses, but she certainly wasn't sure she was comfortable in them; she felt very self conscious and moved with a hesitant air. That might work to her favour, though, she supposed, as with the tension in the air, and the league present, why shouldn't people feel flighty anyway? She cast a glance around, attempting to spot whoever she might know; despite the 'don't draw attention to yourself' order, it would probably be better to stick close to some team mate, she supposed.
Tambrey did not own a dress, or at least, certainly not one that she could use for such an event. She had fought herself over whether to go or not, as well, but it was a chance that wasn't likely to come again, perhaps, and so she'd gone and requested a loan of formal attire.
Besides, she could pretend as if she were dressed for a contest, perhaps and after the year she'd had now, why was she afraid of such a silly thing..? The grunt was not concerned about making a report; it was the sort of thing to be expected and the sort of thing she'd grown used to... In fact, this report would be something different to write up than the usual anyway which might be fun.
Oh. Shoes, too. She'd have to have shoes that didn't horribly clash with the dress wouldn't she? The grunt hadn't thought of it, somehow, until she was right there asking. She was terrible at it and took a little while to get anything that would fit, suit her and fit together, though (in her opinion) it might also have been due to the slightly random nature of whatever the base had available. The shoes she'd gotten were the best of what she could find in her size; black, pointed toes, with a heel that wasn't too high, and tiny bows gracing the fronts. Thankfully, though not perfect, what she'd been given wasn't too bad; it was a nice dark sort of blue (not a terrible colour) and long enough to swing around her ankles, yet with a shape that let it taper out the closer it got to the hem; it wasn't going to trip her up (unless she had to run), though mostly covered the tops of her shoes. The neckline was modest and not very low, while the sleeves ended around her elbows. The whole thing, though elegant in its way, was nice enough to look formal but simple enough that it certainly didn't suggest any sort of wealth or importance... Especially as she'd settled for the simple hairstyle of 'apply brush, fix ponytail (though there was another little bow to be found here). Still, she did feel 'fancy' in it.
She'd tied a black sash into a bow at her waist and wore black gloves, with a slight flare at the wrists, to match her black heels. Her glasses were in a simple black handbag she'd allowed herself, which meant her eyes stared out from behind contact lenses; perhaps she felt more disguised this way, she wasn't sure herself.

Rory abandoned the empty glass and began to scan the park, hoping to find someone he knew. At least then he could distract himself from the aggravation of his suit. He wasn't entirely sure why he had come to the event anyway.
He walked around for a while, blending where he could and hoping he didn't stick out like a sore thumb. Finally he spotted someone that looked familiar to him and went over.
Rory smiled slightly at Tambrey. "Decided to cash in on the free night off too, huh?"

As the night got started, some people may have noticed people walking around to patrol the area. A few uniformed police officers wandered around, but for the most part the security detail was covered by guards-for-hire in cheap penguin suits. Public function or not, there were some rather important people involved, and the city of Camphoreon had hopes to not face a repeat of past disasters.
[Yuri] One such guard approached Yuri shortly after the young man had picked up a drink. "Excuse me, sir, but I'm going to need to request that you not continue to carry a weapon in this vicinity this evening. We do have a security station setup, however, if you'd be fine with picking it up there afterward?" He was fairly polite about it, at least, as though used to working among the higher class gatherings the city sometimes offered.

It was quiet enough thus far, Kratos thought idly as he found a place at the edge of the gathered throng to stand back and observe. Certainly nothing terrible was happening yet - not that he would relax his guard in any case. He knew better than to do that, no matter how peaceful the night might seem. He spotted an unfamiliar face and a familiar face speaking together - Tambrey, he believed, and while he wasn't entirely certain that he wanted to be caught up in the middle of a miniature gathering, he also knew that it often looked more suspicious to stay out of the crowd than to... mingle.
So as much as he disliked this kind of thing, he made his way to to their vicinity and, waiting for the unknown person - perhaps another rocket, perhaps not - to finish speaking. To the point he may be but outright rude he was not, and only once he was fairly confident that Tambrey had seen him did the redhead offer a nod of greeting. He wondered idly if she had brought Lasi, or if she had done what he had and left the pink pokémon back at the base where his enthusiasm was less likely to cause an unwanted disruption.

It didn't take Natalia a lot of time to decide to come, in fact she had the outfit she was wearing picked out as soon as she heard that there would be a party. The noblewoman was currently walking around and mingling with the other guests while looking to see if anyone she knew would turn up in her sight. ~*~*~ Shizuo hadn't been planning on going to the party until a temporary client decided to make the trade off of security there. So here he was in mostly his normal suit except for a white jacket over the top at his, now thankfully former, client's request. He only planned to stay a little bit though now that his job was done.

[Police Dude]
Taking a sip of his newly acquired drink, Yuri peeked open an eye to look at the policeman sidelong. Lowering the glass he then heaved an exaggerated sigh. Oh yeah, he did have a sword with him, didn't he? As much as he'd like to be a smart a** at this particular moment, the guard was polite enough and he didn't really care to get kicked out just yet.
"Yeah, all right," he said, looking around for said station before heading off that way and handing over his sword to the security people there.

"Uh... Somethin' like that." Tambrey offered, only half truthful as she certainly hadn't thought of this as a 'night off' until Rory had just said so, but certainly saw his point now. She looked him up and down, noting the suit and the various indicative features that this was not new clothing. She also wasn't entirely sure it had been borrowed either: "Haven't I seen that outfit somewhere b'fore?" The grunt was fairly sure it would have been something from his days on the contest circuit, but she wasn't going to say that quite so obviously.
She caught sight of Kratos making his way over and gave him a smile and a nod in return to his greeting nod. "Hey!" She greeted, brightly; even if he was 'to the point', the fact that she knew both him and Rory here was a fact that slightly quelled her nerves about the place.

[Natalia]
Asch was mingling around the crowd when he caught sight of some familiar golden hair. He stopped and stared, his mouth hanging open just a little bit as he recognized Natalia.
Wow.
She was beautiful.
He quickly snapped out of it though and glanced around, wondering if her usual posse was around. And now he was left in indecision. He wanted to approach her, but if he did... she would recognize him and her friends would as well. It would likely blow his cover because they knew what side he was on. Dammit.
The last party though, he had avoided her like the plague. So he just continued to stand there, unsure of what to do.

[Yuri] The guard smiled his thanks, and accompanied Yuri to the station. "Thank you for your understanding, sir." He jotted down the needed details on a tag which was then attached loosely by string to the sword's hilt. He tore off the end stub on the tag that had a number printed on it, and passed that to Yuri. "You'll be able to pick it up again with no problem later." That done, the sword was stored in a small back area with some other items being held.
