SPACEDrauth let out a yawn as he watched the little humans bicker amongst themselves. "Rest assured, it was not my plan when I went out this evening to crash into this thing you call 'middle-level'." he said as he rustled his scales. "My goal was simply to catch my dinner. But a curse be it upon the humans if they would allow a dragon to have even one cattle. What would they have me eat instead? Rabbits, squirrels, and other woodland animals?" A barking laugh suddenly escaped Drauth's jaws at that moment, causing the gathered soldiers to jump. A few of them nervously reached for their weapons, but decided that he wasn't trying to attack them at the moment since he didn't seem particularly focused on them. "The ingenuity of your race is outmatched only by its stupidity." This statement elicited quite a few dirty looks from the soldiers, who seemed to all be having similar reactions to Karen as when she had first encountered him not too long ago.SPACE"Still, I was negligent." he muttered, more to himself than Karen, although it was clearly audible to most everyone there. "The villagers were supposed to be gathered at a festival for one of their gods, but they predicted I would raid their pastures at that time. A group of hunters hid among the cattle, disguised as sheep. The first one's spear is what caused that wound." Drauth gestured to the hole in his side that was still slowly leaking oil where he had pulled the large metal rod out of before. "After the first one surprised me, the others revealed themselves and began firing their crossbows. A few of the bolts found their mark, however they hardly bother me. It is much like the bite of a mosquito to you humans. No, what bothers me is that I lost my dinner to an ambush." He rustled angrily, but now that he thought about it, did he still need to eat? He didn't feel hungry, but perhaps this new body required some alternate form of nutrition than animals.SPACE"I hear tale, though, that in far away villages the people will actually sacrifice pure maidens to particularly powerful dragons." Such stories were not exactly uncommon. Usually they also ended with a hero rising up to slay the evil dragon. "Although the idea of humans paying tribute to dragons like that is indeed appealing, I cannot say I much care for the thought of being offered pure maidens. Human flesh leaves an unpleasant taste that lingers on your tongue for days afterwords, and smells terrible when burnt." This statement as well caused quite a few nervous glances among the soldiers, and you could tell that they were picturing themselves being devoured by this strange metal beast, even though he had just said that he didn't like the taste of humans. Not that he particularly minded if they feared him a little more. Fear made one do foolish things, and it would help Drauth escape if they decided to try and ambush him again.SPACEAnother ripple of boredom passed through Drauth at that moment, and he decided to stand up and stretch out his wings and limbs. As with everything he did, the humans reacted with thinly veiled surprise. They certainly were jumpy little things, weren't they. "Ms. Dawns?" Drauth repeated, electing not to use her title as he was still a little annoyed with her for continuing to use his given name. "So you are unwed? That is strange for a woman of your age. Those that I see in the village are usually with child by now." What Drauth didn't realize was that Karen's situation was actually fairly normal for this world, but he only had his experiences of his own world to go on. "Do you have no suitors for your affections? Perhaps your tomboyish actions put them off." He was referring to her choice of career, as most women in his world stayed at home, cooked, and bore children instead of running around chasing dragons. "Or are you unmarryable for another reason? Perhaps you come from a peasant family?" Of course he really couldn't care much about any of it, but it was something to pass the time while he waited for the humans to finish their pointless bickering.((You know, you don't really need to censor yourself. We're all adults here, lol. Or is that Gaia's doing?))

Durithill the Black Blade Karen stayed quiet, listening to the dragon as he spoke and snickering before laughing outright at his comment about humans tasting nasty. "I'm sure we would..." Laughing again at the soldiers' reactions, Karen sighed and wiped away a tear, letting out another snort as they grumbled and put their weapons in a less offensive...but still ready...position. Sticking her tongue out at them, Karen sat back but stiffened at the dragon's question regarding her marital status. Her eyes narrowed as the soldiers snickered, finally a man's comment about "sex slave bots" and an "bromium b*itch" that could be "ridden aaaaaaaall niiiiight loooooooooong, cuz 'bots don't tire" sending her over the edge. Snarling, Karen stood and glared at him. "At least come up with something fresh, you mother-f*cking hussy of a baby man whore..." she spat, sending some saliva to the ground away from Drauth. Growling as they spoke among themselves, Karen sat back down at a look from the Commissioner and grumbled to herself. "No, women these days sometimes don't marry at all, the average age actually a little older than me. And I don't know if I can even have kids, even if I wanted them...I like my job, can't do that if I'm ready to pop. And we don't have peasants...the closest to those would be the low-leveleds, but I'm mid-level and in the Cities if you work hard enough you can get rich so it's not that; people marry who they want to marry. And I'm like you...metal...so if there's any reason I'm undesirable, it's that." Words short and clipped, Karen hadn't taken her eyes off the soldier who had made his comment, and his gun didn't leave a ready position to blow off her head.
The general came up to the soldier, spoke sharply to him before turning to Karen. You disgrace that badge and uniform, Officer! he shouted, sneering out her title. Karen didn't react, she had gone still as stone again, not moving anything...not even breathing...and this absolute stillness bothered the wholly-organic men. "I do not disgrace it, as does your so-called SERGEANT his rank with his undisciplined attitude. I call him out on it." The Commissioner sighed, and came up to Drauth, polite and formally asking that the dragon wouldn't attack the military idiots and would allow them a little more leeway so that even if Drauth got shot with a stray attack he wouldn't take it as purely offense against him and wipe them all like bugs. The Commissioner was calm and collected, standing with his hands in his pockets and looking right up at Drauth without flinching. He was polite, agreeable and diplomatic...defensive on Karen's part as she silently waited to see if she'd get to fight the man who had put a smirch on her honor.(I had this really nice three paragraph post, that was originally kinda short that I felt bad for but meh...and it erased it. Finally coming back...sorry sweatdrop im awful...)(I shortened it, and summarized the dialogue I had had sweatdrop ugh)

SPACE"I see. 'Tis quite an interesting place I seem to find myself in." Drauth muttered as Karen explained about women in this age and the men started insulting her. He would have at least thought that her standing on the head of a dragon would make them hold their tongues, although that was apparently not the case. It seemed the people of this world had no sense of fear at all. "Well, if being metal is all that prevents you from finding a mate, then that should be simple enough to remedy. Once we discover the spell that has turned my flesh to steel, then it is but a small matter to reverse it and return our bodies to flesh once more." It was quite obvious that Drauth still wasn't getting the whole 'technology' thing and that he believed that since he had been turned into metal by some spell, that was probably what had happened to Karen as well. A spell like that would be extremely easy for a dragon. Even though Drauth couldn't feel his magic at the moment though, he suspected that if he simply rested he would regain his strength and be able to cast once more. After all, perhaps it was his own magic that had turned him and brought him to this place, and so he simply needed to restore his magic reserves.SPACEHowever it seemed like the humans were finally done with their bickering, as the human Karen had described as her boss approached Drauth. Drauth could see why the man was the person in charge, as he had the perfect demeanor for controlling people. The man spoke and Drauth listened, watching with his single eye as the people around him shifted nervously and awaited his answer. "I do not consider myself unreasonable." Drauth replied as he lifted his head up to appear the part of a regal beast of old. "I will not kill everyone." The soldiers breathed a collective sigh of relief. "I will only kill the one that shot me." The soldiers returned to being nervous again, perhaps more so now because they had assumed they were all safe for a moment only to have that hope dashed again almost immediately. "How does that strike your fancy?" Although it was posed as a question, it was quite obvious that Drauth was not going to change his answer no matter what the commissioner said. In Drauth's mind, this 'commissioner' fellow should be extremely thankful to even give that much. For a dragon to show any lenience was a sign of extreme honor on his world.((Sorry it took so long for such a short post. I ended up going to the beach, and then there was a party of graduation, and everything's been sorta crazy for a while.))

Durithill the Black Blade Karen made an exasperated noise. "We don't HAVE... Whatever," she bit off bitterly. The Commissioner chortled at Drauth's posing and words, shaking his head but not in disagreement. In the event a soldier straight-out shoots you, deal. As the general reluctantly agreed, eyeing Drauth doubtfully and with a bit of a sneer, Karen excused herself with an apologetic note to her tone and slid down Drauth's nose a tiny bit before pushing off into a flip. Hand out as she landed, cracks appeared in the pavement from Karen's weight and the force behind all her metal slamming into the ground. "Honey, I'm home..." she murmured sarcastically, crossing her arms to stand still as stone while the young cop steadily glared at the soldier. "I'll even make it easy on yeh sugar, I will stay away so your back's to the big mean dragon so ya can't shoot 'im," Karen taunted, her anger still present in her eyes and clenched fist, but otherwise she seemed calm. Karen was controlling the anger, the frustration and used it like a weapon from her eyes to unnerve the man as he checked his gun as a habit. Karen turned to the General and murmured something about 'mech armor', and the general shook his head. The Commissioner looked thoughtful and added something else, making the general pale and aim a heated...and slightly afraid...glance to Karen and her visible metal hand before he bellowed out a command. The soldier she was going to fight looked at Karen, then the general, then at Karen again with a leer that sent a tic racing to her eye. Ohhh, you're gonna get it... she thought, narrowing her eyes dangerously after his retreating form.
While they waited, Karen took off her official coat, folding it with ironic military precision and nodding a thanks as the Commissioner offered to take it. Without her coat, Drauth would see the metal went over her elbow, ending halfway on her upper arm. The Commissioner muttered something to Karen, who actually had to bend down just slightly so her ear was by his mouth, and it made an amused smirk cross her lip. The general looked over with a frown but didn't comment even as Karen took her boots and socks off, revealling her metal feet. Then off came the pants, the soldiers' hoots and hollers about "the metal strip, baby!" being shouted down by the general's yell for attention. They complied, and he held them there until a metal...thing...easily twice as tall as Karen ga-dunked it's way out from the base; their newest mecha armor*, and Karen was going to test it. Everyone fell silent as the Commissioner put Karen's clothes under his arm, leaving her in a black sports bra and glinting her metal arm and metal legs up to her knees before a pair of black boxers kept her mostly modest. Karen had a decent body build, a little on the slimmer side but her metallic muscles were obviously no joke, even as the soldiers made comments and bets amongst themselves how long it'd take her to get squashed. The Commissioner told Drauth the rules, courteously asking if the dragon would like to referee. Small clacks were heard as Karen jumped up and down, raising her hands like to box as she crouched low with precise balance, eyes on the mech towering over her. "You ready to get your a** whupped?" Karen called out to the man inside the suit, who sneered and flipped Karen off...it was obvious to everyone, revealed metal notwithstanding, that Karen was desperately in the doghouse though her confidence was confusing. Even the dragon, with no idea of technology, should be able to see the odds were high against the cop.*think like in Avatar...same general idea. Complete with big-a** knife (It's okay...I kinda forgot if it was going to be a shootout or what, though =_= making it hand-to-hand...lol) (Sorry it took so long...) True to her word, however snarky, Karen sashayed her way over so the Mech was facing her and she was facing Drauth. At a slight angle, though, so the dragon could have a more profile view. The Mech aimed the giant gun it carried at Karen, who stiffened straight as if in fear. The soldiers covered their ears and the Commissioner held slight concern only in his eyes as he did so as well, before the loud RATA-TATTA-TA-TA-TAT! of the machine gun and flashes of thunderous light blinded everyone as the soldier laughed at Karen. When he was done with the clip of blanks...didn't matter if they were fake, the size and force of such an attack would have shredded metal...and tossed the gun aside, everyone waited for the smoke to clear as the general sighed about the destroyed pavement. But there was no Karen. A whoop, and everyone looked up to catch a glimpse of a glint, and then Karen was using her weight to swing the Mecha off balance, flipping and twisting around the hands that grabbed for her. Landing a few feet away, the ground cracked under Karen's "bare" heel as she burst towards the Mecha, hands out in front of her and ducking down at the last moment to whip her legs up and smash into the knee joint of the mecha suit. The soldier had taken a step forward to get into a stance to grab at Karen, and thought it grabbed her feet Karen didnt's seem bothered as the Mecha wobbled; she had hit the joint in movement before it could lock and be protected. The watching soldiers all seem surprised as Karen easily bent upwards over her straight captured legs, only to pry the fingers of the mecha back. Face deadly serious, Karen just stared impassively at the soldier inside who seemed frightened about something but no one knew what, even as he stammered on radio. A few minutes later, and Karen was doing more martial-arts-like moves in a dance with the Mecha, and this went on for a few moments.
Total time, about 45 minutes, and Karen was sitting on the slightly banged-up suit of mecha armor that had crashed to its side, breathing heavily but with a devilish grin. Her skin had a few tatters and gashes, her metal a few dings but otherwise seeming unaffected, although her clothes weren't quite AS lucky as the soldier had seemed determined to strip Karen. The flamethrower hadn't helped anything either. Whacking the glass...gently...with a knuckle at the shouting soldier screaming imprecations at Karen, she made a bit deal about not being able to hear the fuming man about getting him out; she had jammed everything so he would have to be cut out of the suit. Walking back to the Commissioner, Karen silently took her clothes and put them back on, shaking her head and waving his handkerchief off as he reached up to dab at some red-brown liquid falling down Karen's face where the blade had hit her hard enough to pierce the metal. Most of her own dings had actually appeared when that hit stunned her, and the soldier tried to do as much damage as possible while Karen was down. Snapping her shoulder back into place with an unpleasant squealing pop that made everyone give a collective wince, her included, Karen gave the General a sardonic and sarcastic salute with her middle finger before spitting on the ground at their feet. She had won, with minimal damage to herself although her underwear had been fried and showed X-rated sighs before Karen covered herself, barely blushing although the soldiers had hooted and hollered. The Comissioner, a gentleman, looked away and stood in front of Karen with crossed arms as she dressed, eyes on the annoyed looking general with a bit of a smirk. Then Karen was dressed, and a hand on the smaller man's shoulder and he nodded, giving Karen a satisfied slap on the back. Giving Drauth a shallow performer's bow from the waist, Karen straightened and looked up at him. "I don't wanna have to try to fight YOU too, all right? So please, behave..." Sounding a touch disgruntled and looking tiredly pensive, Karen shrugged and waved a hand in nonchalant farewell to the dragon before she had back towards the copter with the Commissioner, hands in her pockets. She had proven to everyone she was more metal than just what her body showed, that Karen the cop was a real warrior with a stern will and sense of honor.(Feel like I should add more....or have left that last sentence out....but enh; wanted it to be clear blehdablaaah stuff I shouldn't need to describe in ooc to keep the story going bleeeeerr =_= anyways, yeah...whoot, we can move forwahd!)
