I will keep watch, do not worry, I am here." he said in return. Thou he was tired he would do whatever in his strength to protect her.

 Mirage snorted at his reply. Was she really supposed to believe that? "Everyone always wants something. No one helps another from the goodness of their hearts." Her voice was cold, bitter. She stirred uncomfortably. She really hated people watching her from behind. And she could feel his eyes even clearer than any buck before. "I don't trust you. I don't care if you saved me." She said matter-of-factly, I turn my back to no one. Especially a buck.

" Do i seem like any Buck that you have seen before? And if you don't trust me then who, the wolves are out to night, you can neither run nor fight. Now listen to me and lay, i wish only that you would listen to me, i wish to help you. i am not like the others." he said " if you wish to die then wait for the morning, but you shall not perish into this earth while i am watching, i will not allow it to so be."
He was now sad, how could some one think so badly of this world. a world of colors and dreams, he wished that she could see threw his eyes, he wished that she could see the truth like he had seen it.

Mirage huffed. This buck was so off, spouting off nonsense. "You couldn't prove that if you tried, buck." She snorted, closing her eyes but refusing to relax. All her life, Distorting the Light had been betrayed. Her parents abandoned her, her so-called-friends left her. She had been lied to, hurt, and broken in almost every way imaginable. But Mirage had always kept her smile, knowing that if she appeared weak, she would always be broken again. And so she built a mask, metaphorically, to hide her weak, bitter heart.

"I shall sleep now it is almost dawn, if you wish to rest then lay with me, if you wish to perish in this darkened swamp then go. But I would very much like it so if you would stay. Please?"
His voice cracking slightly at the thought of such a beautiful creature dying. He wondered what could have made her hate there kind so much. He wanted to know, to learn, he wanted to find a way to sooth her burning soul.

She hesitated, which was very unlike her. Under normal conditions, Mirage would have left the buck groveling in the mud and nurse herself back to full strength in one of her many hide outs. But he was right... She was weak and could neither run nor fight. She was helpless. There was nothing she could do... "...On two conditions," She said after thinking for a bit.

"Two conditions? What are these may I ask." he said with a slightly confused face. He sighed wondering what these conditions are; he slowly rose to his feet, And moved to face the doe. "So then what are they?"

Mirage opened one eye, tensing at his movement. She stared up at the buck coldly, pausing. Analytically taking in his appearance, his hazy eyes, his odd markings. He really was a peculiar buck.. "One. You sleep where you are now, where I can see you," She spoke pointedly, making sure the buck knew she didn't trust him one bit, "And two... Tell me your name, buck."

The doe opened one eye, she spoke words as if her throat had been iced over. she seemed more distant then she had been. "My name, it is Swirling in the Mists. All though you may call me Haze, may I ask for yours in return?" he replied to her cold words.
He noticed her faces shadows had become deeper as if she was analyzing him, trying to peer into his words as if they where lies.

The doe raised a brow to the bucks. Swirling in the Mists... She wondered what kind of dream had brought forth such a name. For now, she thought, she'd stick with 'buck'. She nodded to herself. "My name..." Mirage paused, her eyes locking with those of the buck, "Past the Array. Yes..."She was lying, of course. But he didn't have to know that. Mirage allowed herself a smirk at that.

Suddenly Hazes face went hard, no expression came to it. Angered by the fact that she had yet again blatantly lied to his face, He slightly growled his next words, "Hmm Past the Array? Why do you lie to me? Do think of me as unintelligent? Am I not worthy to be graced by your true name? Am I just a fool to have saved such a doe as yourself?”
He sat down staring at her coat, why would she lie to him? What was she hiding from him?

Mirage froze again, her body completely unmoving. How...? The silly buck was blind, there was no way he could read her! Her lip curled up, baring her fangs at the buck. If she could get up, she would have tackled the buck to the ground. A snarl rippled its way up her throat. No kin forces her from her mask. No kin. "No, you are not. No one is, and no kin ever will be!" she growled, her eyes glaring hard at him, "I never asked to be saved, you did that on your own. Do not pin that on me."

Her snarl had caught him, her teeth barred and her pink gums flashed against her white pelt. Looking into her face with eyes watering, "If I had not saved you then who would you have? Hmm? You lied about the colts; you have none! What is the point in lying to some one that has saved you?"
Upset and confused to why she must lie, he stared right into her eyes making sure not to break the connection.

Mirage winced, her ears pointing back. For a moment, she continued to growl, though sounding more wounded than angry at this point. With a huff, she lowered her face to the grass, hiding the flickers of pain in her eyes as best she could. "...I have no kin. It is better that way." She murmured, the fight gone from her voice.

She spoke finally, her voice dropped and her head hung low. She was done with the fighting.
"Is it really better that way?" he asked, cutting her off, "Is it better to die alone? No one will remember you, no one will care. Why do that to your self?" he spoke them with a dismal voice.
He lay down, putting his head as if to look directly into her eyes.
