Mia was still bristling in annoyance at the Blackheart before her, however close she was to getting smacked for her mouthiness be damned. He certainly thought much of himself - one of those people who clearly thought they were more intelligent than everyone else. They could see everyone else's flaws, of course, and they were always right. But as she opened her mouth to speak again, the man commented on smelling something. Out of instinct, Mia turned around, seeing Sin fiddling at the back, and she tensed, ready to defend her companion, but their guard had no inclination of stopping, or worse, hurting her, so Mia relaxed, just a little bit. Although he did discourage them from attempting escape, unconcerned as he seemed.

She watched the man curiously as he went over and attempted to soothe the poor, bastardized witch in the corner. Seemingly out of character for their gruff captor, his actions served to cool off the girl's hot temper. Seeing the kinder side of anyone, especially those who were intimidating or tough tended to settle the girl right down. It was also an excellent way to get the bobcat mononoke to give you the benefit of the doubt. Looking around, Mia sat near the outer edge of the cage, as it looked like they wouldn't be seeing action any time soon, and contemplated Sibelius. After a few more moments of quiet she spoke, this time without any venom.

"You have no way of knowing that some of us at least weren't considering that. As I said, there were those of us who stepped forward to do what was asked of us, although it seemed we were out shouted," the girl began with a wry smile, although she didn't deny the truth of his claim that the kids most likely wouldn't have gone willingly, even if Sibelius' claim had been exaggerated for effect. "And really, many of us haven't even graduated from the Academy yet. Do you truly expect most teenagers our age to be as enlightened as your attitude and speech seem to suggest you are?" Mia, while tempted to speak of his being "enlightened" sarcastically, restrained herself and spoke only contemplatively, her luminous green eyes honest and trained on Sibelius, simply waiting for an answer, nothing else present in her demeanor. After a moment's pause, she added, "Or is that what you just think of humanity in general? That most of them make decisions that put others in danger because they can't see past their own noses? Do you really hold that much contempt for people outside these walls?"

Finished with her questioning for the moment, Mia looked at the palm of her right hand, which was bleeding slightly from where she'd scraped it on the broken cage bars when she steadied herself from the explosion. Shrugging, the girl wiped the blood on her exposed knee. She was sure she'd have time to clean and wrap it, eventually. The witchling glanced back at the large hole Runa had blasted in the cage, wondering if any of the others would make their way out, as she seemed to be the only one who had left its confines right now. In fact, none of the other captives had moved much at all from the explosion, save for Sin attempting to get out of her bonds. Mia wondered briefly if the explosion had scared them all, or if they thought help would arrive soon and were choosing to merely sit and wait until it arrived. If it arrived.

Sibeilus laughed coldly as the kid kept lecturing, his icily gray eyes sliding between each face, silently head-counting. "Kid," he stood to his full height from where he was crouched by the cage, crossing his arms over his chest. "The closer you inspect humanity, the more errors and dark holes filled with shame you'll find. Sometimes the only thing you can do is to pick a purpose and don't betray that purpose. Try to take things upon yourself and you will end up like me, and that is indeed a scary, scary thing."

In the moment it took Mia to look at her peers, Sibelius had moved into the 'entrance' of the cage, a looming shadow of a man. He extended a bit of gauze to her (Usually keeping it on his person since battle was a daily ritual for him) and wrinkled his nose. "Clean that up, your blood is clogging my senses." When she failed to take it he simply tossed it onto her lap, eyeing the sneaky little skunk to make sure she wasn't attempting anymore foul-smelling uncorkings, and then to Athir, shaking his head as he leaned in the frame of the door leading into the cellar.

"Chill, kid." he said to him. "I'm guessing Shaden is pissed off at me because of you, since I can faintly smell the cat on you." Not like he had a real choice in this matter, anyways. Why were people blaming him! ********. Still, he wouldn't turn their blame unto Runa, even though it had been through her orders that this had been done. She had real purpose with them, real purpose that he had aligned himself to long ago.

Uaithne couldn't help but to think that it was a touch cruel of the woman, to demand of them to reveal themselves when it seemed that this particular Blackheart was able to sniff them out like a hound. Why then was it she wanted them to step up? Couldn't she have just had her Blackheart point out who was what and then drag them off? Well provided that the attack upstairs hadn't occurred at least. While he was half curious about what had been planned he was a little relieved that it had never come to pass. Still, they were trapped here with this guy in charge of them and it was made more then a little clear with all that he said that he really didn't care for the role of babysitter to the prisoners, nor did he seem to particularly care for them in general.

The green haired Majin found himself glancing around from side to side, trying to figure out what it was that he should do next but he had to admit he was a little at a loss. What should he do when he had no real power yet? He was still in training so unless some sort of miracle happened it wasn't as though he would be rescuing anyone anytime soon. When the Blackheart mentioned that they were free to rid themselves of their shackles, not that Sibelius seemed to think it would help any, his eyes flickered around more quickly and he found a way to actually do just that. Did he dare though? If he freed his hands from the bindings it might draw the attention of the Blackheart onto him, after all it was his kind that the Blackheart hunted... still, if the guy decided to spend his efforts and energy pummeling him maybe the others could get away? Not one he cared for though since it would suck getting punched by that guy after what he saw him do earlier, punching a wall into dust with a single blow.

Giving a shake of his head the witchling drifted forward to where Runa had twisted, bent, and broken off the bars earlier. There were sharp edges here and there and he used those to rid himself of his binding though it took a moment to saw them against those sharp bits. Once free he set about rubbing his wrists, taking a bit of comfort in the fact that he was able to move his arms about. Now what? That seemed to be the question, he was still to weak to really do much after all. This was, in a morbid sort of way, a learning experience he thought to himself. Maybe in the future he would know the better carry things on his person that would aid him in dangerous situations, provided he got out of here of course. Chewing on his lower lip he realized that suddenly the Blackheart was rather close by, having seemed to almost appear in the twisted out doorway to their cage and he shuffled back, wanting to put space between himself and the intimidating, heavily armored man.

Strangely though... he still wasn't attacking, as annoyed as he might sound and look, and instead was just watching them all, even seeming almost as though he were reassuring Athir. These Blackheart seemed to be rather... confusing to him. Seeming cruel and cold one moment and then reassuring the next? It was enough to make him a little dizzy. Lifting a hand so he could chew on his thumbnail he found himself glancing around the room, taking in the faces of each of his friends, some more silent then the others, to the other witches and witchling he didn't know, and then back to the Blackheart... then sighed and leaned against the wall he'd backed up to. He would keep an eye out for a reason to act... for now their guard wasn't raising his hands, nor were those in the cell for that matter, so it was a bit of an impasse, wasn't it? Uaithne didn't like it one bit, it all just left his heart thudding in his chest, adrenaline racing through him, as he waited for whatever catalyst might set off the currently tense situation around them...

Once the knights were partially immobilized by the ice that was creeping into the joins of their armor, Kailash moved to switch to wind, only to falter when he was attacked by... A Witch, it seemed. He wasn't certain what to do and, not wanting to hurt someone so young, he shifted in attempts to block. However Miusa stepped between them, causing the Cerberus Knight to smile faintly, pleased that she would come to his aid at all.

"I'm honored that you decided to join us on the battlefield." he called to her, turning his attention back to the other Reapers and Black Hearts. "Hopefully the others can handle themselves."

He began striking those attacking with the flat of his glaive, attempting to simply subdue, not kill. After all, they had no proof that these Reapers and Black Hearts had set out to harm those that they had taken. In fact, perhaps they knew something that he, himself, did not. Nevertheless they couldn't allow them to remain detained against their will without knowing why, and he had a feeling that those at Poena Privus would not be all that eager to answer questions.

"However, I am not a one-man army. I fear I won't be able to hold this line forever."

-----------------------------------------

Cruor was a soldier, a warrior, and was used to hunting and killing prey in the dark, thus this chase was borderline second nature to him. He snarled at the back of the knight he was chasing before he flinched at the crackle and light from a bolt of electricity. He glanced back over his shoulder at those that were following them, calling his pyromancy as he continued to run, staggering a little as the woman's lightning struck him in his lower back. With a wordless sound of rage he pointed his arm backwards and shot a rather sizeable fireball back at the two behind him, hoping it engulfed the entire tunnel; it wouldn't be lethal but it would definitely hurt.

He slowed to a stop when the Cerberus Knight before him did, eyes narrowing a little, his grip tightening on his great sword. Suddenly Shaden arrived, taking position at his back and asking questions, causing him to growl a little; he really had wanted to speak with her about this but, now... Well, having this little discussion in the middle of battle was not the most ideal of situations.

"I trust Sibelius with my life. He wouldn't hurt them." I hope... he added mentally, eyes widening a little as he watched the hole open up in the wall, creating the path for those behind them. "Shaden! You need to stop them. Fighting up there could hurt the children more than us keeping them captive. Sibelius is a good man, but that room isn't big enough for combat without possible harm coming to anyone else up there."

His attention turned back to the Cerberus Knight in front of him, eyes narrowing as he shifted his stance a little, preparing for combat. He didn't want to kill a Cerberus Knight, never had, but from the way this man's eyes were glinting, the way he moved and spoke, Cruor had a feeling he wouldn't have much choice. Watching him intently, the Black Heart mentally went over his chances of making it to the passage and following; slim to none if he didn't incapacitate this knight first.

"You could have just knocked, you know." Cruor stated, arching a brow, his tone full of sarcasm; he wouldn't make the first move but he also wouldn't let the Cerberus Knight continue further.

Cedar couldn't believe the things she was hearing, and stuck by her own beliefs. Majin couldn't do that to humans, but before she could think of much more there was an explosion upstairs. Like everyone she stumbled in her place and she looked up as dust came from the ceiling. It couldn't be that much more safer in here... They were all prevented from using their magic, what if the people up there weren't help? But there to hurt them.

After Mia and Black heart seemed to have some conversation he address the boy that she had just been with in the back. He knew someone there... That was rather interesting, but it wasn't going to get her, or her friends out of there. She really didn't want to challenge the Black Heart but she had at least give some effort into trying to protect herself.

"Why should we trust you to protect us now? How are you going to protect a large group of us, if the ceiling collapses on us?" And he couldn't guarantee that wouldn't happen, not only age plagued the castle but over time all things wore down it happened to everything.

"So as much as upstairs is probably dangerous, least we'd have the chance to protect ourselves. Maybe there is another way out, I don't care to be a sitting duck." She looked at the Black Heart, they had complied to what the rotten woman wanted, and this had to be illegal keeping them against their will.

Kian smiled at the "blind" girl. His grin a wicked taunt. Oh he liked her. She was sassy... "Best if we just go through this lovely tunnel my wonderful knight in shining armor just made for us, hm? We can talk later." He ran through the tunnel, finding Cassiel knocking a reaper into the freshly made wall.

"Well done," he said in passing as he went right by the man, hopefully with Aero in step behind him. "Quite frankly, I'd have killed the b***h..." he called back before turning the corner.

He stopped there, looking back and then taking a quick scan around. "You're lack of being threatening makes you so threatening, and I presume you've got more than a doll fetish that keeps you alive. So tell me, girl, what powers do you have? I'd appreciate it if you made my skin crawl..." He liked to see that anger within her. He'd use it against those that dare take Athir. His heart clenched, and he felt his fingers shake, but he wouldn't break his facade to this girl. He needed her to know that he had a full plan, in and out, even if his plan really meant just utilizing her power and anger so he could find Athir. But that wasn't wrong, correct? That was the point they were here. But maybe this girl had another agenda.

He'd certainly help her out... He often enjoyed the sounds of screams.

The witch worked at the bindings on his ankles diligently, finally freeing them, and letting the rope drop to the floor between his legs. His wrists.. would be a bit more difficult... They burned from being tied so tightly, and the friction that was unable to be avoided with movement. However any progress made was paused as he heard his reaper captor speak again. At first, he didn't react, figuring his comment was aimed towards another one of his fellow prisoners, but when Shaden was brought up, his head lifted immediately, gray eyes meeting Sibeilus'. Because of him? What had he done? his gaze lowered a little, in a very slight apologetic manner, "She.. is my best friend.." he admitted to the complete stranger. But... the sounds of the walls shaking and the cries of battle ringing out, it only made the sweet boy all the more worried. Gaining an ounce of courage, Athir looked to Sibelius again, voice gaining a bit more volume, "Please, sir.. if she is hurt, allow me to heal her...?" he asked, almost hesitantly...

With all the commotion gong on, it was hard to really make much assessment of anything! As the leviathan mononoke Lilum Ars made his way down with the rest of his infiltrating comrades, he came upon the scene of the two blackhearts and Aodhan, squaring off. As the sudden ball of fire came hurdling towards him, his arms extended to draw up water, more accessible from the sewers, to defuse it, causing the ball of light to fizzle out. Phew! Things were getting hot! The cream clad knight looked pretty intense right about now, his pale blue eyes honed on the pair like a predator on its prey. Monet's own seafoam green eyes danced between the three before following where the rest had went into the created tunnel, shouting back to Aodhan, to hopefully help keep his moral up, "Keep `um busy, Aodhan~! "

Mia merely watched and listened to the man looming in front of her. His response confirmed some of her previous musings about the man. She contemplated him, not pitying, angry, scornful, or in agreement. She simply looked. In fact, she knew something of the answer he gave, and she did, in fact, agree with it to a certain extent. But she chose not to let that idea and that knowledge rule her life. The witchling knew if she thought like that she would simply be unable to carry on with her daily life. So she made her own choice to still trust in people and be happy in her relationships.

The young mononoke did store away his advice about picking a cause and sticking to it, though. That seemed like quite, good advice, actually, but the bit about not taking on everything had no effect on her. It would have helped the girl not a little, but then again, taking everything on herself was always how she had been.
"Thank you," she murmured, knowing Sibelius wouldn't care or might even scoff at the politeness, but she might as well. And she really was grateful for the gauze which she pressed onto the cut in her hand after wiping the excess blood off her knee, which would hopefully at least staunch the light bleeding.

She watched their captor address one of the very quiet witchlings in the back. It seemed the boy knew someone here, and was in fact good friends with her. That could perhaps aid all of the captives in some way. It most likely wasn't a bad thing at any rate, at least hopefully.

Mia watched carefully, waiting to see what the Blackheart's response would be to the boy's plea to be able to heal his friend if she was injured. This man seemed to be full of small surprises, so maybe something would be worked out. There was the potential for some kind of action on all of their parts there. As the girl mused, she thought she heard some faint sounds. Perking up, she listened, but they were gone again. How long would they be down here with only the guard in front of them? Surely not everyone could be fighting upstairs without trying to search for them...

A brow raised on the man's face and he shook his head in some form of pity, or exasperation. "Don't worry about her," he muttered. "She holds more than a few levels over you, Shaden will be fine. It's not like the knights actually intend to truly harm anyone, afterall...they're too softhearted. Even to kill witch eaters who walk among them." he frowned, casting his glare upwards. "I can smell several. What a putrid stench."

Sibelius merely waved a hand at Mia, as if shooing the gratitude away, and couldn't seem to pause to get in one quiet thought before another girl's grating voice stabbed into his ears. He flung his hands at the air as if trying to bat away the verbal onslaught, before gruffly growling a retort.

"It looks to me like you don't have much of a choice, do you? Do you really think you could successfully defend yourself if you are caught in an onslaught between high-class knights, blackhearts, reapers, ars, and witch eaters? Do you really want to put one of them in danger for trying to protect your below average witch carcass?" His words were cruel, not genuinely cruel, but cruel enough to where he hoped the danger of the situation would sink in. "You'll go up there, any one of you, cast a few pathetic spells that do nothing but annoy, and find out quickly you need the protection of someone, anyone, and that person you latch onto like a parasite will falter in battle and possibly become injured or dead, because they had to also protect you."

As his words finished, the walls shook again, and again, as if being pummeled, hard enough for a large, iron-caged box to fall off a high place, crashing onto the infected human's cage.

There was silence as the door to the cage creaked, slowly swinging open...

She had forgotten the safety of her subordinates, or the fact she even had any at that moment. While they were fighting for her, for her order, her eyes only lingered on the white haired girl just some yards in front of her, a twisted feeling of love and hate combining to form a disturbing level of cruelty and bitterness in her.

Runa watched Miusa, her fingers scraping against the stone of the castle tighter and tighter, nails scratching lines into the hard stone as her rage and contempt grew inside her. Things became more and more disgusting as she watched her exchange a look of appreciation with the horned knight, and then a sheet of pure disgust was draped over Runa as she watched what could undeniably be nothing other than a witch eater sidle up to her, exhibiting almost a fondness to be there. There could be no mistaking it, she could sense how many hearts beat inside that vile chest.

"Miusa..." she said, loud enough for the girl to hear. "All these years apart from me, all these years I thought you were dead... and you're with a Witch Eater....absolutely disgusting." Runa held a cruel, bitter smile on her normally gentle face, her colorless eyes void of expression. How she wanted to reach out and strangle the very last breath away from the man who stood by Miusa, her precious friend, her most hated and cursed betrayer. "Your betrayals continue, even after so many hundreds of years, but honestly...how vile, how disgusting, with a Witch Eater."

Miusa cast a frown towards Remiel, shaking her head as she released the witch in front of her. "He is just a child still, I still consider him to be protected. If you want to cause trouble you do it with others besides those under my care, or I will beat you with a fencepost." She was glaring outright at him solidly for a moment, before the facade flickered and her mouth curved into a small smile. "Don't you cause me excess problems, Remiel," she wagged her finger at him. "I'll make you pay for them." her words were sinister, but her voice almost jovial, though somewhat serious. She could sense Remiel's battle-driven hunger, but it didn't look at all like she'd be able to move him back, or even away like this.

"Look," she murmured to him, voice low. "Control yourself, for me. If it's that you're hungering...." she sighed softly, biting her own lip. "You..can have some of mine later." her voice had been apprehensive and soft. "But if you cause trouble with the young ones I will never forgive you and I will find ways to torture you." As she finished her sentence, her voice became grim and fierce, but her mouth was still partially curled into a jesting smile, that abruptly faded as she heard a voice call out her name.

It didn't take her a moment to realize, though she hadn't heard the voice for hundreds of years, besides in her dreams or memories. She knew immediately.... Runa.

Miusa's eyes left Remiel, resting upon the partially-obscured figure of Runa in the large doorway of Poena Privus, the same girl who had been her only friend when they were children, the same girl who had taken part with her in that ritual, so many hundreds of years ago...the forbidden ritual that mothered the majin into human form, the same ritual that cursed them into the non-humans they were today.

They were the sacrifices, and yet here they stood, staring at each other, one face filled with a mixed form of joy and sadness, the other filled with a twisted love and fathomless hate.

Miusa wanted to run to her, to wrap her arms around her and never let go, but as Runa finished her sentence, her blood ran cold, and any form of strength she had simply abandoned her. She fell to her knees, only able to stare up at Runa. Disgusting...with a witch eater... The words repeated in her mind. Your betrayals continue.

Her cruel words, the truth, for everyone around them to hear, and Miusa could do nothing but listen vacantly, her heart beating loud in her chest, rousing the majin seed that she had suppressed there for centuries even further.

For a moment it felt as though the entire world was being shaken by the battle overhead, enough so that Uaithne stumbled from side to side where he was standing, barely keeping his feet before jerking his head upwards to stare at the ceiling, a small bit of rock falling down to bounce of his forehead. It wasn't big enough to really hurt him, not really, but enough to startle the young witchling. Lifting a hand up he rubbed it against the spot he'd been pegged by the falling debris before he looked around, concern showing on his features. It was dangerous to stay here, wasn't it? The place was going to fall apart just as Cedar had suggested, threatening to bury them... at the same time what the Blackheart had said rang true as well. If the battle overhead was enough to shake their prison it wasn't something that anyone of them, especially those who hadn't even graduated from school yet, should face off against. Still... staying here wasn't good...

"Being down here isn't safe." He murmured to himself, taking a step closer to where Kalypso and Cedar were standing. A battle overhead, the threat of collapse all around them, and a 'babysitter' that didn't want to let them leave despite those dangers. There was no way that this could get worse unless it were to start raining he thought to himself... the moment the thought went through his mind another violent shake seemed to set off a series of events much worse then just the little rock he'd gotten hit by. There was in stead a rather loud crash that pulled his attention over toward the origin, finding his brightly colored eyes locking on the iron box that had crashed into the metal cage, the resulting sound being on that left his ears ringing a little... though there came a sound that was far more frightening, the creaking sound of metal hinges as the iron barred cage came open, "Oh... no..." He breathed, his eyes going a bit wide before he moved quickly, sliding in front of his friend and fellow majin, making sure to put himself between her and the one whose cage was now open. This was bad, really bad, and the fact that their own cage had been torn open earlier only made it worse. Sudden he found himself wishing that their cage was intact, at least then it would offer some sort of protection.

He glanced for a moment toward Sibelius, curious what he might do now that the situation had taken such a turn... but then his eyes went back to the cage, still shrouded in the sheet the Blackheart had earlier covered it with, fully expecting an attack at any moment given the infected man's comments on wanting to eat them. He couldn't do anything, not magically at least, but it didn't mean that he wouldn't do all he could to keep the infected human away from everyone else, friend and stranger alike, not wanting him to hurt them. For a moment his eyes flickered around, finally stopping when he saw the very rocked he'd been hit with earlier and scooped it up. Not the best of weapons but it had been annoying, leaving a little sting where it had hit. Taking aim Uaithne prepared to throw it to get the attention of the infected, though only were he to come their way. Better the guy get pissed off at and come after him then one of the girls, right? It was his task as a guy to keep them safe, even if he really had nothing to defend with other then his person. Well that and a rather small rock... still, he'd do what he could.

Why was this guy so angry about everything? Apparently anyone 'under' him in terms of power required babysitting and would only 'get in the way'. Well screw him. Cedar had no intention of being a 'parasite'. She was beginning to feel pure anger fill her. Had the talisman's not been there she could have done a fair bit of damage to the walls. But her only aim was to get out of that room so she could court the dark twisted tree's that surrounded the grounds. With that she'd be able to get herself the few that probably would dare leave with her out. But that too would require a few minutes of being undisturbed and that would be risky all the same. Were the anti magic seals paper or incantations. If they were paper they might be able to rip them up if they could find them. But if they were incantations the only hope they had would be to leave the room.

As she opened her mouth to bark back at him everything rumbled and shook. Dust and small pebbles fell from the ceiling. Shaking her hair the rock's dust billowed off, and her eyes went to Uaithne before hearing the door of the other cage swing open. With her voice loud enough for the mononoke Mia to hear. "We might be able to use this as a distraction. Once out of this room I would need a couple minutes to court the tree's here... And just like at the ball I can get them to penetrate the walls or floors to give us an escape from the castle... However, I don't know the grounds. Nor do I know whether those are people here to help us or not."

But the longer time went on she felt as if she was a sitting duck. And now there was even more real danger facing them. Not just collapsing walls and ceilings, a witch eater. Her heart was racing a mile a minute. She had to make a choice, right? In her head she felt that 'waiting for someone to come rescue you' was a weak choice. There was never any guarantee that someone would save you, you made your own path and choices. But this seemed to be an extenuating circumstance. Their captor could be the only thing protecting them from harm.

If those were people there to help them they made a choice to put their lives on the line. Where they expecting to completely wipe out everyone in the castle and give them an easy out? Doubtful. Someone would stumble on them and then try and herd them all out of the castle while still under attack. So even then they would still be 'parasites' as the Black Heart called it. So would it not be better for them to meet them half way? There was so many different things that needed answering before any choices could be made. But Cedar's eyes kept darting from the Black Heart to the cage.

Aodhan's eyes stayed fixed on the red blackheart. He could feel the hold Kian had put on him. His own conscience screaming at him, trying to tell him this was wrong, but his mind screamed this was entirely right.

These people had taken children, young witches, barely knowledgeable enough of their skills and were doing goodness knows what to them! "And you could have asked for volunteers..." he countered just as sarcastically back to the blackheart. He drew several rocks from the earth, allowing them to orbit around him, using them as a defense in the event something was flung at him. His mind was still fighting itself...

'Kill him...kill him...No...no don't...yes...end his live...no...this is wrong!'

The voice of the leviathan ars penetrated his mind, like a bullet between his skull. Keep him busy? Yes...he didn't have to kill him. No...no he had to kill him. Kian said so. He had to...

He pulled more soil from the earth, condensing it so tightly into a cone, with a sharp needle point, sending them at the blackhearts in front of him. Keep them busy...and kill them...

Aodhan felt the sewers shake, seeing soil from the entryway he'd created at the top slip in. Something suddenly felt wrong...

Runa seethed.

Runa seethed, and when rhe seethed, everything seethed. The castle walls shook dangerously, the ground beneath her rattled violently. She seethed with so much anger that she forgot her precious subordinates were under the earth, she forgot her little captives inside the cellar. At that moment, she simply did not care.

Not.

At.

All.

"Why couldn't you have just stayed dead!?" she cried towards Miusa. "I hate you! I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!" with ever verbal curse, she flung walls of spells upon the girl, who still was too stunned to fight back, or even defend herself. Volleys of gravitational strikes slammed into her from the scythe Runa had beckoned into her grasp, one by one, and Miusa went tumbling backwards like a rag doll thrown away by the child who once loved it, crashing hard into the iron gates behind.

Runa's rumbling rage had caused the castlegrounds to shake, a taste of the intense and bitter power inside her, accumulated over many hundreds of years. The ground above the tunnel began to shiver, and large pieces of debris began to fall from the ceiling, smashing into those fighting each other within that very tunnel.

The cage had swung open, and all was silent in the moments before hell broke loose. The infected man leapt from the cage with panther speed, his purposeful gaze on the delicious looking group of young ones in front of him. Which one would be delicious? He had only been human, there was no way he could take their hearts the normal way...perhaps...perhaps if he cracked them open like eggs, the treasure he wanted could be his?

As he penetrated into their cage, his fingers scratched deep gashes into Cedar as he clambered over her, a predatorial ghoul with the only instinct left in him to feed in anyway he could, but he was greedy, and he was fast. He tore past Azrai'iel and Uaithne, his overly-strong arms nearly breaking theirs as he tore them aside. He was a whirl of biting and ripping and clawing as he settled upon Mia, tearing at her clothes and flesh as he literally tried to tear open her chest to get at the delicious heart within.

It had happened so fast. Sibelius, even with his enhanced instincts, had only been able to comprehend the sudden blur as he moved to jam the cage shut again. The infected man was already on the kids...god damn it! There were too many in there for him to use his flails. A kid would surely be smashed along with the man if he tried.

"Move out of here!" he yelled at the captives as he wade through them. Once there was room, he lashed out with his right first, a loud and sickening crunching noise echoing loudly through the cellar. He had struck the infected from off Mia, but not in time to save her from deep ********> he grimaced, scooping Mia up into his arms. "Why are you still here, you idiots! I said get out of here. I meant NOW." he voice was a dark and severe growl, anger and frustration permeating off of him worse than ever.

The infected's entire left side had been crushed, and his own blood gushed from his mouth, but it was still not enough to put a stop to his predation....

It..really hurt. How many hits she had taken, she didn't know, but Miusa coughed and sputtered blood as she tried to pull herself to her feet after Runa's onslaught. Her ribs must be broken, something must be broken. She couldn't remember Runa being so strong... It had always been Miusa who was the strong one, and Runa who was so good with everything Miusa wasn't. But this...was not....

Runa...Runa...please forgive me, Runa.... I never..wanted....this...

Uaithne had no idea what hit him, he'd thought he would be prepared for it but one moment he heard the sound of the door to that cage creaking open... then then the infected was crashing through them like they were nothing but delicate flowers in a hurricane forced wind. He'd half been able to lift his arm to defend himself but it was hanging at his side in a useless manner, blood flowing down along it, dripping off the tips of his fingers and to the ground. He starred down at those drops as they hit the ground at his feet, eyes wide, seeming to be in shock from the blow he'd taken. Any and all sound around him seemed completely muffled, his heart sounded as though it were slamming against his ribs it was beating so hard, and the pain seemed to hold him in it's grasp... And then he heard Sibileus yelling at them, telling them to get out, now and it seemed to break him free of his daze.

Dragging in a pained breath as he looked around at the others that had gotten hit along with him, "C-Cedar... Cedar are you alright..?" He gasped out when he saw the bloody wounds she'd been given. Worried he looked then to Kalypso to check on her but it seemed that he'd done well in using himself to protect his fellow Majin, if only he'd been able to do more, "Kalypso..." He breathed as he looked to those that were injured who he didn't know, the male witch with the light colored hair looked as roughed up as Uaithne himself and the opinionated cat girl... she was looking torn up and more the worse for wear then any of them... but already the Blackheart had her in his grasp. He'd also knocked the infected aside, halting the attack for a moment, but despite the rather brutal blow it would seem as though the man was still moving and looking... determined, "We need to... to go..." He gasped out, reaching out to catch hold of Kalypos's wrist with his good hand, ignoring the damage to the other one for now and started out of the cell.

It was more important that they got out and fast, he could worry about his wounds later. Better only wounded then sticking around to be eaten by the now free infected. This was their only chance to get out of here, it pained Uaithne greatly that others had to get hurt to offer them this chance but it was more then what they'd had when it was just them milling around with the Blackheart keeping them from going anywhere. There was the flight of stairs that they had been herded down and from there... well he had no idea where they would go, especially with the battle going on up above, but down here was no less safe now.

Mia winced and frowned for the boy who had asked permission to heal his friend. Their guard was certainly not one to pull any punches, with the occasional slight to a person's abilities or those who weren't a part of Poena Privus. Mia resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the witch who had begun arguing with Sibelius. As the young witchling was thinking that this seemed sure to get them nowhere since now Sibelius seemed only more pissed off at them, another huge quake seemed to hit the old building. Not from the outside, but something was making Poena Privus itself shake and buckle. As she again grabbed the bars near her to keep from falling over, Mia heard a horrible crash. Looking up, her eyes widened as she realized the infected witch's cage had been smashed. Not enough to harm the thing inside, but enough to warp is so the door could open.

Mia tensed, waiting for something to happen, but all was quiet for a second, before Cedar addressed her. Looking to her quickly, Mia looked back at the wrecked cage and carefully and quietly made her way over to the witch. While she didn't agree with her original approaches, they all had the same goal. And working together was bound to be more likely to get all of them out of here as safely as possible.
"All right," she agreed quietly. "Once we're out of here or on the grounds I can take care of things. I have enhanced vision in the dark so I'd be able to get us around. And I think those here are here to find us, but how do we get past those two and out of this room?" she asked, nodding to Sibelius and the cage that she kept one eye on warily.

Turning to ask Sin to join them, Mia heard a sudden hush over the room. Her instinct turned her eyes back to the cage while everything seemed to become still. And then the monstrous human was among them.

He was so fast Mia couldn't even really see him, but she saw the trail he left as he entered their former prison, and she could hear what he was doing. She saw some of the witches near her, those who had been actively trying to help their small group, get torn aside violently. Then Cedar was suddenly bloody and gone from the spot she had been in. Without the time to even look up into its face, Mia felt a horrible weight leap on her as she fell to the ground hard.

The fall didn't even register, as Mia could now see and feel the infected man on top of her. There was a moment of nothing, and then pain exploded all along her body. Instinctively attempting to protect herself, some of her magic surged through the seals still around the room, Mia tore at the monster on top of her with her animal's claws, her teeth protruding as she tried to bite the arms ripping at her, tried to scratch his face, blind him, cause him any sort of pain to get him off of her. But all of this struggle happened within split seconds and after a moment, Mia's arms, now too heavy to lift, fell back to her sides.

She wondered, somewhat morbidly, as she lay on the floor of the cell, if those distant ripping sounds were her clothes or her body being torn. The bobcat mononoke felt detached from herself, and warm all over, probably from the blood coming from whatever wounds she was sustaining. And gods, her chest hurt. It had hurt along with everything else when she was first attacked, but now it felt like something was trying to worm inside it, as if the thing on her was digging to find some kind of treasure...then she realized that awful shell of a former human being was trying to dig her heart out from within her body.

And suddenly he was gone. There had been a noise, but Mia's consciousness and vision were now becoming kind of wavy, and she could only see whatever was directly above her. Which, suddenly, was the face of Sibelius, their captor and guard. He muttered something as she felt herself get lifted, and then he yelled at someone, at some other people who must have been around them, but it was muted in her ears. Suddenly, that thought having triggered something in her mind, the girl became more conscious for a second. Mia turned her head weakly, looking around them with sharp eyes for her one particular friend down here. Spotting the skunk mononoke, she called to her, her own voice scratchy.
"Sin, go! Go now!" Without the strength or ability to do anything else, or to even watch to see what happened, Mia would have to hope the other girl would get out safely, and trust that the others who were able to would protect her, protect each other.

With that, Mia focused only on keeping her eyes open as she seemed to float through the air in Sibelius' arms, even the sense of pain dulling to just a constant throb. The only thing that became real to her then was the thought,
'Just keep breathing, just keep breathing...'
