"So has he," Kratos said, slight amusement creeping back into his tone as he watched the two pokémon interact. "You might want to be cautious - Miette is...a flirt," and the dry humor in his tone became even more obvious as he watched his pikachu nibble open the candy wrapper and proceed to try and snap it in half for sharing. "And a showoff," he added as Miette giggled again, blowing the Golbat a kiss.
The pikachu giggled again, thrilled with all of the compliments she was receiving - she hadn't had so many since she was still in the contest circuit! - and held out half the candy bar for Lasi to take. He sure seemed to like food, but that was just fine - a big man with a big appetite was a dashing fellow and easily pleased! "Kapikachu pika!"
Oh yes, this was a very, very good day to be Miette.

"Ah... 'S good f'r him, probably." Tam' smiled, but did keep a little more of a watch on the pair. "Have t' admit, he always likes makin' friends, but I've never seen him so keen on this sort o' thing." She shook her head. "Wouldn't worry; he's a show off 's well."
The pink bat watched, contentedly, as Miette snapped the treat in half and looked almost woozy with happiness as he was blown a kiss. He actually waited until she was eating hers before he tried to eat his half of the bar with a lot of dignity (of course, he wasn't really succeeding at that), noticeably more slowly than he normally might have eaten. "Guh buhguh!": She deserved the compliments and he was thankful to share the treat and spend time with such a pretty thing. He hadn't, despite effort, quite worked out not to talk with his mouth full though.

Kratos nodded thoughtfully. "If it's any consolation, I don't believe that Miette is deliberately a heartbreaker," he said, watching the antics of the two pokémon. "If she gets to be too much, separation shouldn't be too difficult." Except for the pouting the pikachu would unleash upon her trainer, but that was beside the point and unnecessary information, so he didn't feel the need to share that with Tambrey.
Fortunately for Lasi, Miette wasn't bothered by his talking with his mouth full - she was actually quite charmed with his compliments! "Kachu, pikachu chuka! She said, thanking him for being kind enough to get her this treat and for spending time with her and did he know that he was quite a handsome specimen of a golbat? She accompanied the rain of compliments by batting her eyes at him, turning up her cuteness factor.
Maybe she could see him again, in the future? Maybe more than one more time? Maybe a lot?

Tambrey nodded slightly. "'S good t' hear." She noted, as he explained about Miette. "As f'r Lasi; not sure he's capable of breaking a heart 'r not. This... has never really happened. " She was still watching them. She didn't say it, but she agreed totally that separation wouldn't be a problem; though he would make himself known while inside it, unlike certain other pokemon, Lasi wouldn't break out of his ball. If absolutely necessary then it would be easy enough to separate them by simply recalling the Golbat, or so she thought anyway.
Lasi /did/ know he was handsome! It had been one of the first things he'd decided upon evolving and finally having eyes to see himself, but he knew that other pokemon (and sometimes humans) didn't think that of his species and he was delighted to hear that Miette thought him so. Of course, he explained, he couldn't quite compare to the Pikachu's beauty and her cuteness, but he was entirely ecstatic to be allowed to be spending time with her and he /really/, /really/, wanted to spend a /lot/ more time with her!

"If it's never happened, then you have no way of knowing," Kratos said. Not that he thought the golbat seemed particularly likely to be a heartbreaker - pocketbook breaker maybe if his appetite was as large as it seemed, but not a heartbreaker. Miette, on the other hand, was a bit of an over-the-top flirt. She did seem genuinely interested this time, though, so maybe no harm would come to either of the pokémon.
Miette crooned happily and batted her eyelashes at Lasi, then kissed his cheek with a cheerful cry of "Pika, chupika!" She was so glad to have gotten to visit with him, and to have gotten to know such a sweet and devilishly good-looking fellow! And to think, stuffy old Kratos had wanted to stay in their room and work - why, if that had happened then she never would have gotten to talk to Lasi, let alone share candy and get to know him!

"Uh. I guess that's true." Tambrey agreed. first with a puzzled frown, then with an amused sort of smirk; Kratos was a very.. interesting person? Something like that... He was /something/. "I don't think he is, though."
The pink Golbat was in perfect agreement in being glad that Kratos (what was a Kratos by th- OH, her trainer, /right/- he'd half forgotten the trainers were still in here) hadn't stayed in his room; this had been the best evening he'd had since, well, whenever the last best evening he'd had had been and he was pretty sure this one was better anyway! He blushed again at the kiss to his cheek and let out a happy little grumble. He was often in here, though, he told her, unless Tambrey took him outside or to a training room (he was also in the labs sometimes, but never really allowed out of his ball down there) or somewhere else to eat. Either way, he was sure he could spend more time with her if she (and her trainer, he guessed) were living on base (most did, right?) because he knew the place pretty well!

"You would know him best," Katros agreed, glancing over the paperwork he had brought with him for a moment. He really should be working on this, but it was difficult to concentrate with the love-pidgeys chattering at each other. "They're having quite the conversation."
Miette nodded and giggled again; this really was the best evening in a long time, and she was so glad she had gotten Kratos to come out of his room - which yes, was on the base, and wasn't it great that they lived in the same place and could see each other all the time? She wanted very much to get to spend more time with Lasi, and she'd been doing some exploring on her own; perhaps there were some places they could go for some private visits?

"Mmhm. Lasi's always been talkative, but this definitely seems a lot m're focused." She agreed but didn't sound too concerned. She did sound a little like she was puzzling out something familiar and the corners of her mouth were hanging onto her smirk a bit.
"Guh, guh buh!" It /really/ was great! Oh! Oh! Yes there was! There was the roof- wait... No, the Pikachu didn't have wings... But! The roof, he had been told, was where his friend Palu had kept meeting her special friend and she had a daughter now who was his friend, Pygi! Pygi had hatched around the time that he'd been given to Tambrey, so they'd known each other a while and been told the story together. Oh, but he'd gotten off track already! Um. He was a bat, so he was often awake at night, though to be honest he wasn't really allowed out of his ball unless Tam' said so, but then again, he /could/ get out if he wanted, he just wasn't really allowed to. A lot of rooms were empty at night though! Training rooms, rec' rooms; you just had to watch out for the night watch... Oh, if he were smaller, he might have been able to get into the vents, but he was a little awkwardly shaped and large for that...

Kratos caught the odd tone to Tambrey's voice and quirked an eyebrow at her. He didn't voice his curiosity, however, simply answering with another "Hn," to her statement. Idly, he wondered what the two pokémon were discussing, but at the same time he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to know - if they were discussing some kind of sordid inter-type tryst, then he really didn't need to know the details.
Miette tilted her head and flicked an ear thoughtfully. She didn't know a Palu, but the thought of meeting a special friend sounded really neat! She would get to the roof if she could, maybe she could ask someone to give her a ride? Or they could meet in the training rooms, those were easy to get into and they could have fun there - or maybe... maybe the kitchens! The kitchen would be great and they could have tasty food together!

Well. Now they'd sort of exhausted the talking point and as curious as the pokemon behaviour was, there was only so much they could probably talk about it without it becoming awkward. She glanced over to the paperwork Kratos held, pushing her glasses up a little. "So.. What are y' working on?"
Lasi nodded vigorously, which had the comical effect that his whole body would rock backward and forward. "Guh buh guh!" It was a /brilliant/ idea! The kitchens were /full/ of nice food (in fact, there was food to be found in the cupboards, as he and his friends Laerdan and Ella had found out once) and they could go there and have lots of 'dinner dates'! He wasn't sure what they were called 'dates' for, really, but that was what the films and things he'd been allowed to watch called them. He had never seen an actual date fruit as part of the menu on these 'dates' though; humans were just weird with naming things like that, he guessed. Still! They could have dinner dates! And if she wanted to go to the roof, he was sure she weighed nothing at all and thus it would be no problem for them to meet and he could carry her there!

"A side project," Kratos said, flipping over the papers once again. "Something I've been working on for a few years now," he added by way of explanation. Truthfully this had absolutely nothing to do with Team Rocket and everything into the still-unsolved murder of one Anna Aurion some years before.
"Chu pika pikaaa!" Miette jumped up and down and clapped her little front paws together, cheering. This was the best plan! A snack buddy and 'dinner dates' and secret adventures~ Oooh, this was just - just wonderful! And free rides to the roof, where she could watch the stars at night! This would be so much fun!

Not knowing the true nature of the papers, and with his vague answers about them, Tambrey just became a little more curious, tilting her head. "So, something kind of big then." If he'd been working on it for years... She wasn't sure, of course, how long he'd been with Team Rocket, but was sure that, in fact, rather a lot of their projects might be intended to go on 'for a few years' and beyond. Besides, scientific work could go on for years-worth of research... "Hey, did y' say what department you worked in?"
Lasi grinned and chuckled happily at Miette's reaction, then suddenly decided to join in. He fluttered his wings and jumped up and down too, looking a lot more ungainly than the Pikachu, but no less happy. It was going to be fun! A few of those things were his favourite things and he couldn't wait to share them!

"In a way, yes," Kratos said simply, flipping through the sheaf of paper again. It was... satisfying, he supposed, to have something to focus on. Without a focus, Kratos was a man adrift and could not function to his best ability. He looked over at her when she asked about his department, raising an eyebrow briefly as he wondered what had prompted her curiosity.
"Combat." Which was likely not what she was expecting if she thought his project was organization-related, but he supposed that if she had assumed he was working with a different department - and he had no way of knowing if she had - then it was merely a misunderstanding brought on by misleading evidence.
Miette giggled as Lasi joined her in jumping, then twirled around and turned it into a sort of dance - which from there morphed into one of her old contest routines, if a toned down version. The pink pikachu used double team right then and there, then combined it with flash to make it look like she was dancing with copies of herself. The routine was cute, but rather painful to the eyes and prompted a low groan from Kratos.
"Miette. Stop that." He should have known she would have lapsed into her old routines, she was getting far too overexcited and that was never a good thing. Even though Kratos' sharp command had the immediate effect of stilling the pikachu's impromptu performance, the spots in front of the redhead's eyes were going to take some time to fade.

"Combat? That's a lot of paperwork f'r a combat project?" She was... assuming, perhaps. "Well, I guess, actually, I get through a lot 'f paperwork too... And that's in the labs." Rethinking her statement, she found herself evaluating what a 'combat' project might involve; there was actually a lot with just a moment spent thinking about it all. "Actually, I guess not." Tambrey might have been about to ask more questions when suddenly there was flashing and a lot of Miettes dancing around just across the room. "Wha'?" She blinked, took her glasses off to rub at her eyes, seeing spots as Kratos was, then closed them and shook her head a little. Her mouth quirked and her eyes reopened with a curious, and revelatory, look in them. "... That's a contest move."
Lasi felt like he'd just been subjected to strobe lighting at close range, but also that something absolutely wonderful had happened. There were suddenly a lot of Miettes all dancing all around... Even after Kratos had told her to stop, the bat found himself zoned out, remaining a few seconds in the past, in his mind, still experiencing the scene of many dancing pink Pikachus all around. He still danced too, but clumsily and, being rather stunned, lacking any sort of rhythm.

... He was going to end up with a migraine from this. He just knew it. Kratos sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, deliberately keeping himself from losing his patience with the excitable pink pokémon. "It's complicated," he said after thinking over a decent response for a long moment. Upon her observation of Miette's obvious contest nature, he nodded. "She used to be a contest pokémon, and she's never stopped behaving like one." Kratos hoped she didn't think he was ever a coordinator. Arceus, no - he'd do just about anything other than participate in something like that.
Miette, for her part, was now thoroughly disgruntled because she had been forced to put a stop to he show. Kratos never did let her have any fun. "Pika! Pi pika chu kachu pika pi pi pi pika pi!" she exclaimed, twitching her tail back and forth as sparks rose from her cheek pouches. She had been having fun, why did Kratos have to ruin it, why wasn't he any fun anymore?!? She huffed and stuck her tongue out at her trainer, then deliberately turned her back on him to smile sweetly at Lasi. "Pikachu? Pi pika?" Was he okay? Her flashed hadn't hurt him, had they? She hadn't meant to harm her new handsome friend!
As he watched the pikachu throw her little temper tantrum, Kratos sighed again, folded his papers up and stood. Walking over to where the two pokémon sat, he deftly scooped the pikachu up into one arm with the practiced ease of a man used to scooping up small forms. "My apologies," he said to both Tambrey and Lasi, "But I believe we should be going now." If nothing else, Miette was in sore need of a time out for a moment, judging by her still sparking cheek pouches.
