His intense blue gaze met her own. She hadn't changed, aged a bit yes but still was the youtfhful Sarah Jane that he had once traveled with so long ago. In both his Third, Fourth and had met in other incarnations. She had made a name for herself, raising her son, he remembered when the Earth was dragged into the Medusa Cascade and communicating with Luke and Mr. Smith briefly.
That was an adventure but it had cost him Donna and once again Rose. He then slowly walked up to the console his arms behind him but then he brought one forth pretending to read the numerous levers and buttons. "The Ninth, but it shouldn't be this way." He muttered as he flicked the switch. The loss of Krista still hung over him as he answered the second part of her question. "Oi, I was around when Krista came to get K-9, more like take 'im for a walk. " The Doctor said, "Didn't expect her to 'ell you what happened...should have been in my Tenth incarnation, long story." As the Doctor looked up and back towards her and then back at the console.
"No use chinwaggin' on what could have been. How are thing's goin' with you? Luke off in college yet?" He was good at changing the subject, he didn't want to go further into what had happened to Krista, his hearts still raged at what the parallel Rassilon had done to them all.

Sarah tucked the necklace back under her shirt, watching and listening patiently. She was one of the few companions he ever had that learned to listen and speak only when he was done ranting or else risk giving fuel to the flames. "9th?" She thought for a long moment before remembering the faces that she saw of him after Mr. Smith was hooked into the TARDIS during the Medusa Cascade incident. She used the connection to her advantage, getting all pictures of his incarnations along with information on any past companions of his to help keep everyone in contact.
Her head shot up as she stared at him. "Krista? But wait, she was with your..." She hesitated when she heard him comment that it was a long story. *Sounded like something went wrong with his regeneration again...* she thought to herself, remembering how he was when he regenerated from his third to his fourth self. She heard him rattling on and knew it was a touchy subject so she didn't ask for the time being.
"Yes, Luke's in college and we have another addition to the family." She pulled out her mobile and flicked through pictures before finding one with the latest addition to the group. She was about to show it when she saw the TARDIS screen flicker on with the same picture, chuckling lightly and looking up at the ceiling. "Thanks, Old Girl." She tilted the screen around and showed him a group picture of her, Luke, Rani, Clyde, K-9 and Sky taken a few weeks before. "Meet Sky, a creation by the Fleshkind to destroy all Metalkind in the universe. She plopped down onto my doorstep and we almost had their war on Earth. Luckily, we helped Sky disarm herself when she turned from a baby to a pre-teen when she became armed. Now, she lives with me as my daughter."
She walked around and sat down on the three-person seat, leaning back. "So, I came here when Mr. Smith picked up the TARDIS' Artron energy reading. I'm under the cover that I'm doing an expose on the temple and the festival taking place to get close." Her gaze became wistful and happy as she remembered the times traveling together in the past. "Funny how we're back here..."
A moment or two later, her gaze hardened as she focused back on the Doctor. "But I'm putting my foot down right here and now. You will not keep me in the dark like you did last time in your seventh incarnation when we met each other here." She knew that would strike a minor chord of guilt, but if they were going to work together this time she had to let him know that she meant business.
"And if you do something to mess with my reporting career again, I will be very cross with you. It took me almost a decade to reverse what you did here." She didn't raise her voice but put enough emphasis in her words to show her disappoint. "You didn't have to do that if you were just honest with me in the beginning when you saw me... Pendragon." She smirked, remembering the meeting they had before all that nasty business went down with the Chinese Mafia, UNIT, and the Tsun. She calmly sat there as she was done with her conditions of working with him.
"Now that we have all that nasty business out in the open and out of the way, what is going on and how can I help?" She placed a light smile to her lips, moving the conversation forward this time.

Straight and to the point, like a reporter should be as he put a hand to the console and on the scanner. He knew that Krista and Sarah Jane had worked briefly together even after they returned K-9 back to Sarah Jane though he didn't step out of the TARDIS to talk to her. Domestics weren't his thing in this incarnation and he hoped they wouldn't become any part of any of his future incarnations.
He was proud of Sarah Jane, moving on starting a life with Luke and the others in her care. Furthermore, continuing on with her journalist career and though he knew the risks she was stubborn and wouldn't let him run off that easy. However, if his theory was correct about the catacombs, an unstable Star Lord would be the worst case scenario for Earth. He walked back around the console to the scanner and switched it on.
"Oh ancient alien, trapped on Earth in a tomb about to be uncovered, that sort of thin'." He said. Though he kept some of what he knew from Sarah Jane he remembered Pendragon quite well as he hit the scanner. Though, it could be somethin' else all together, the TARDIS picked up a Star Lord readin' just after ..." He stopped. Perhaps, the TARDIS was trying to make him feel better about losing Krista to Rassilon. Though his companion, had lost control of her emotions on the parallel Gallifrey, he could clearly see the amount of regret in her face right before Rassilon finished the job that this universe failed to do. Though he picked up her last thought, Krista was sorry for acting out in anger but she never had the chance to say it.
Still, the Earth was defended under him and until he could be certain if the Monks or some other entity opened that tomb it would spell doom for the Earth and that was something he couldn't let happen.
