"Lizzy, if you do not mind the question, how old are you, in terms of Halloween years?" She seemed amused. "I have a niece who looks exactly your age, and she has too gotten to the age where she questions everything around her, including herself. See, we are not that disimilar after all, just as there are bad humans, there are also those of Halloween that would take advantage of them. However, it would be a little selfish to say that because you had one bad experience, everyone will be the same. If for centuries Halloween and humans have in majority, maintained a peaceful and delicate balance, then perhaps there is a reason to that." She exchanged glances with the professor. "We have talked about this before professor, if any students are interested..."
< This is a good idea. > Professor QB elaborated. < Lana is offering a for you to visit here again Lizzy, with any other students who are interested. This is a unique opportunity to watch how humans and Halloween interact and even how they can help each other. >
Lana smiled. "Consider it my pleasure, especially to anyone so willing to learn."
< I will organize a small career counselling session then for DETH. > The professor sounded pleased. A pause. <Also your sparkles are dictated by the ambient Fear around you, the stronger the ambient Fear, that is Fear in the world around us and not just the citizens and creatures, the more you sparkle. Quite an interesting effect, is it not? >

"I'm turning 18!" She replied with a smile, clearly not minding the question; she had to wonder how differently time flows outside of Halloween, though that might be a question better saved for another day, "It sounds like a nice goal to work towards! And ohhh?"
Her gaze moved to the professor, "Like a small field trip? I would... Like that very much, yes! I mean, some of my friends were there on that first field trip, to a... Safe scaring ground?" She was pretty sure that was what they called it, "But the more we know about humans, and how we work together, the better, right?"
Her eyes widened slightly at the 'sparkles' explanation; she never expected that to be the answer, although she also wasn't sure what she was expecting, "Is there a way to control the sparkling? So that I wouldn't... Accidentally start sparkling whenever there's a high level of ambient fear..."

There was a small rustling noise outside - apparently two fire salamander scarelings had been waiting patiently at the door the entire time. Their light fidgeting finally made Lana turn her attention towards the two. "Tut-tut what did I tell you about visitors. Now go behave yourself until we are done here, there are still several baskets worth of herbs that need to be dried and laid out in the sun."
< Actually it is fine. > The professor hopped off the counter and back onto Lizzy's shoulder. < Lizzy and I will head back now, we have much to plan for the future. Thank you for your time Lana, I hope to see you again next week! >
The Human did not protest, simply warmly waving the two away, but not before she gave Lizzy a small bundle of herbs, simple healing herbs she had said, that were twice as effective in Halloween as a salve to heal and regenerate Fear.
It was just QB and Lizzy again as they headed back down the cobbled path away from the village. < It is good you show so much interest in DETH! Perhaps we can help share this viewpoint with your peers, with your help. > The Professor's portal was still where they had left it. < Now about the sparkles, just use your own Fear to help suppress it, try controlling your emotions to see its effects! > A pause. < And you may want to avoid direct sunlight. > Dragain - The herbs Lizzy has can recover any student back to full health or from a status ailment outside of battle. They also have a very relaxing effect, especially against aggressive students...

The professor was on her shoulder again.
Professor on shoulder.
Also, scarelings.
"O-oh, um, yes!" She snapped out of her thoughts, bowing her head at Lana when she realized that it was time to leave; it was a pity... She would have liked to stay here a little longer, maybe watch them in action. "Thank you! I'll use them well!" She returned the wave before leaving, walking back the way they came.
"I would love to help! This is a medical facility, and the place we visited during that one field trip was a safe scaring ground... I'm excited to learn more about both places," She replied, stopping right in front of the portal, "One last question... Uh, this might sound a little odd, and I mean no disrespect, but-" She poited her fingers, looking embarrassed as her voice softened, "-can I pat you too?"
