The fight was starting to fall into that nice, comfortable back and forth rhythm that always reminded him of sex in a non-sexual way. It felt comforting to be hit, and to retaliate. He even managed a genuine smile as he winced at the hit, and swung Jezebel to retaliate -
Completely misjudging the distance Cass was to him, he barely nicked her. Comforting moment over.

It was good to get back into the flow of things as well - especially against something that didn't have the potential to rip her face off if she was stupid about it. She knew a thing or two about being stupid, after all.
Mostly when it came to clearing out the dorm and being a derp about taking anybody with her. Good thing Cassdar was a real thing.
There was a small recoil when Robert nicked her before Cass shifted her weight, stepping in with Nicodemus to forcefully thrust the blade at him. A really bad sex joke could have been made about it.

There really was no reason for Robert to parry so terribly, but when his batleth went flying, it left his hand, and flew all the way over to the right, leaving him completely defenseless. He stopped, for a moment, stared at it, and then slumped.
"I am off my game." He grumbled in embarrassment, as he desummoned Jezebel and resummoned her in his hands, out of sheer laziness. "It's a good thing you offered me this spar.. I need to start working out more."

"Honestly, I'm off mine too." Cass relented for a moment. She'd been working harder than ever, and yet she just seemed to be lacking her normal OOMPH she typically had.
However, she only gave Robert so far of a head's start to get Jezebel back before she struck again.

Robert gave Cass a quirk smirk as she spoke, but she was coming at him too quick for a verbal response, and he let out no more than a grunt when the hit got him solidly in the chest, just as he wrapped his hand around Jezebel again. He was too slow to parry the thrust, so instead he used the opening to slam an equal assault into her side.

Cass couldn't help but hiss when she was struck in the side with Jezebel, hissing before she butted the end of her gun against the large man's chest, stumbling back a few steps.
She'd felt that a bit more than she would have liked.

Despite the twang of regret that Robert had when he heard that hiss come from her lips, his body moved out of pure reaction, twisting around in a move that suddenly looked a lot more like a ballet twirl than an attack.. and the distraction of it's fluidity allowed him to land a solid hit right across her mid-section. He hadn't practiced this particular method of fighting in a while.. it felt good to dance again.

Nicodemus seemed to extend disapproval into Cass's head as she stepped back out of Robert's assault before stepping in again, pressing the barrel of her gun right against his shoulder before she pulled the trigger.
If they were doing close combat, she'd make the most of it.

"HOLY s**t!" Did this b***h just shoot at him from close range?! He felt the sting on his shoulder and let out a grunt, backing up and keeping himself at bay. If she was going to play dirty, well..
He had a few tricks of his own.
Robert's sneakers bent when he stood on his tiptoes, and flattened Jezebel against the length of his arm. One leg jutted out slightly, and his body suddenly began a spin - a move so fluid, only a dancer could pull it off.
On and on he spun, as Jezebel's blurred form looked more like a circle than a rod, and before Cass knew it, Robert leapt forward, using Jezebel like a sawblade.

Yeah, okay..she'd just totally stepped a line there with that move..she'd make him a cake (..if she could figure out an oven...) later or something to apologize for it.
However, she had to admit watching him spin around was somewhat entertaining for the brief amount of time it took place, still keeping Nicodemus drawn to counter when she got a chance. However, her chance wasn't going to go exactly the way she would have liked it to:
It started about with Cass's life flashing before her eyes as Robert - who was easily a foot+ taller than her and probably had her entire body weight in muscle - moving in slow motion towards her with Jezebel. If she had the body control to make quick-reaction calls, she probably would have actually reacted before Jezebel's slow-mo actually came in contact with her.
Slow motion....
Right into her gut. Fortunately her FEARshield absorbed most of the blow for her, but she could feel the force of it, making a pained noise before she recoiled away from Robert, swinging Nicodemus forcefully at him - or rather, the air between the two of them and deteriorating into coughs in some twisted attempt to make sure she could still breathe.

Cass's move was fair, and it incited Robert, jazzing him for the fight. It felt good to stretch out his legs again, and he hopped on his toes, bouncing in excitement.
"Okay, sweetheart. Try this one on for size!"
Maybe he was a little too excited.. when he came at her, his entire body lifted to one toe, and he turned, and turned, and turned.. like a spinning top, Robert slammed into Cass with Jezebel, unaware of just how hard he was about to hit..

The look of horror on Cass's face was likely the only warning Robert was going to get for how bad the incoming blow was from Cass's end of things. She was like a tiny little mouse in the middle of the freeway watching an incoming semi-truck.
Crunch
Cass wasn't sure if Nicodemus was in her head giving her a heads-up her shield had just shattered or if that was the sound of the larger man actually breaking something. She'd have to check on that later, as all it took was that one sturdy blow for Nicodemus to simply vanish, a chain wrapped around her arm. Cass herself wheezed, suddenly unable to breathe as her legs gave out on her and she simply collapsed, hitting the ground like a rag doll and not moving from that spot.
Out of commission like H's morals.

Robert stopped spinning and his happy grin froze as he stared at the unconscious, and possibly a little broken Cass.
".. good."
His lower lip jutted out in a huge pout, and he desummoned Jezebel, putting her back in his pocket. When his hand came back out, he was holding his phone. He flipped it open, and dialed a number.
"Get a med team ready."
"No, just a spar."
"Yeah well ******** you too!"
He threw his phone back into his pocket in anger, and searched around until he found his box of transformer band-aids. He pulled one out, and settled it very carefully right where Jezebel had broken the skin. The healing process began almost immediately.. but he knew it wouldn't be enough.
It'd keep her safe, though.
"All right, sweetheart. Robert's got you." He grumbled, carefully picking her up and holding her bridal style as he carried her back to the labs.
