Shina scowled, but left Yuki out. She didn't have a way to thaw the Eevee if she recalled him, so she might as well let this play out.

The ice started to crack, spiderweb fractures splintering through the formerly clear ice. "Come on Yuki, you can do it! Break free!" Shina called.

Lizzie noticed the cracking ice too but it instead encouraged her to attack further. "Get in as much damage as possible!"
Millie understood this as another command to use Return and lunged at the Eevee again.

Shina watched with some amusement as the Milotic sailed right past the frozen Eevee. Shina held up Yuki's pokeball. "Yuki, time to switch with Anna!" she called. Anna bounded out onto the field, ready to get back to work.

Millie collided into the jungle gym with her miss. She got tangled up in the bars and started to free herself while the Eevee was replaced with the Furret. Luckily no harm was done in the collision but this was not the situation Lizzie wanted to be in.
"Cover yourself in Mist." She called out. The Milotic didn't even turn to face Anna as a white fog dispersed from her horn and surrounded her entire body. She could feel the numbness from the Shadow Ball attack leaving as she did so.

"No problem Anna! We don't need stat boosts! Let's beat her at her own game! Use Blizzard!" Shina called. Annabell cackled evilly and sent a storm of ice shards at the Milotic, attempting to freeze her into a nice, solid block.

Millie couldn't dodge all the shards of ice, but she managed to block most of them with her newly revitalized tail and shook off the rest. She wasn't going to let the Furret freeze her to death here, and Lizzie had the same idea.
"Dragon tail!" She shouted, and Millie swung her tail with tremendous force.

Shina rolled her eyes. Why was she so scared of the Milotic facing Annabell? Unless her second pokemon wasn't her Lugia after all, and had some sort of resistance to Annabell. Shina considered that, then shook her head. Annabell knew too many moves for her to really have a pokemon that would resist all her attacks. Whatever, if she wanted to face Yuki, she could face Yuki.
Yuki's emergence into the field shattered the ice, and he wasted no time sending stars flying through the ice crystals falling around him.

So Millie swatted away the Furret only to receive a face full of stars instead. She couldn't really complain since it was definitely the better alternative compared to freezing, but it still hurt!
"Use Return now!" Lizzie could tell that Millie wasn't enjoying this battle but she was doing a good job irregardless. The Milotic charged at her opponent, determined to not miss this time.

Yuki went flying from the powerful attack. "Yuki, keep it up! If she isn't going to let us keep Annabell out, you have to take her down yourself! Keep up the Swift attacks!" Shina called.
Yuki growled, climbing to his paws. Glancing at his shoulder, he saw a grass stain. His eyes blazed. That dratted Milotic had stained his beautiful coat! Newly energized with rage, he attacked again.

Yet again the Swift attacks sliced at Millie's skin. She had learned to stop trying to dodge and rather defend herself, since this was a move that doesn't miss. Thankfully that meant that it wasn't the most powerful of attacks either.
"Keep it up!" Lizzie cried out. They were holding up well but it would only take one mistake to be on the losing side again. Millie flung herself at Yuki with another Return attack.

Shina watched the match with a face of stone. She could see the writing on the wall. Yuki was going to fall. Annabell probably could have taken down the Milotic, with Yuki to play back up, but it was abundantly clear that her opponent wouldn't allow that. So all she could do was leave Yuki out, and have him do as much damage as possible before the Milotic took him out.
Down on the field, Yuki sent out yet another flurry of stars.

Swatting away a few of the stars with her tail, some signs of fatigue were beginning to show. Millie had lots of scratches all over her body and her movements were more sluggish than before. But she didn't allow herself a moment to rest even for a moment, and attacked Yuki with another Return with as much power as before.

Shina abruptly decided to change tactics. It was riskier, but better than just letting the Milotic wear her down. "Yuki, Yawn!"
Yuki let out a massive yawn, stretching and presenting the look of a pokemon that was completely ready for a nap.
