Cupcakes Dream (In response to the flat sale prompt)
"Aw man I'm sooooooo bored. There's nothing to doooooooo! All she's doing is watching those stupid movies with all the singing..what's with all the singing, I just don't understand it!" there was a soft huff from him as he rolled onto his back, staring at the television with crossed eyes. "Maaaan why can't she bake. I really like that, especially when she makes those awesome cupcakes for me..." his tail swished impatiently as he watched some girl fighting something called huns. Which he misheard as buns, and it of course made him realize he was hungry, but he was also comfortable and didn't want to move just then.
"Mmm...buns..." there was a yawn, and his eyes drooped watching the movie from upside down. His trainer was on a movie kick, and had been watching all day so as he drifted to sleep, it was no wonder his dreams went all wacky and started to travel between the movies she'd been forcing him to watch most the day, the last thing he heard being "Lets kick some honey-buns!"
So of course, the first thing his dreams went to was him looking older, like so many of the others he'd seen, those really neat looking ones that looked part pokemon, and part human. He looked so cool in his armor and with his sword! The fact that he was facing a horde of armor wearing sticky buns was amusing him to no end, and instead of cutting them down with his sword instead he lept at them, and began to tear them to shreds, devouring them with an unrivaled pleasure. It was no secret that he had a sweet tooth after all.
He'd just sunk his teeth into a third honey bun, when suddenly he found himself facing a large group of cupcakes, in his favorite flavors at that, and he couldn't help stalking toward them, licking his lips, tail flicking behind him in anticipation.
"Poor unfortunate souls..." the thought entered his mind as he attacked, tearing into the soft topping of one cupcake, the wrapper torn loose and he making quick work of it all, the paper left sitting there as he licked fingers grin. "Mm...that was good...who's next!"
Three more fell in quick succession to him as he devoured, and somewhere not in his dreams, there was more singing. "A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you're fast asleep...." so what then did his heart wish? For food perhaps...or something sweet.
Several more dreams passed in which he found himself vanquishing confectionery delights, cakes, pies, brownies, and before long in his dreams he was stuffed, and he heard his trainer laughing. "Looks like you need some exercise now! Come on time for some stoutness exercises." his dream self groaned as he got back to his feet, a groan of near pain coming from him.
"Up, down, up. When I up down touch touch the ground, it puts me in the mood. Up down, touch the ground...in the mood....for food..."
The song amused him to no end, really how could he help but be amused? Though of course he wasn't in any mood for food at this point. He rolled in his sleep, and about that point he heard his trainer calling him. "Cuuuupcaaaake c'mere, I have a snack for you." he woke up and with a stretch jumped off the couch and made his way to the kitchen where he looked at the cupcake his trainer had set down for him to eat.
He got down real low, and prodded at it a little, his dreams fresh in his mind and waiting for it to attack. When it didn't he sniffed at it a little, and whether in response to over eating in his dreams or something else, he actually ignored the cupcake, and went for the completely healthy stuff he normally avoided and ate it instead, causing his trainer to blink in shock. "Well I think that's the first time I've ever seen you turn down a cupcake, cupcake." she reached for it to put it up, only to have him pounce at her hand, and snag the cupcake into his mouth, and start eating it.
He'd eaten his meal, now it was time for dessert! That was his cupcake!

Cupcakes Training
He tried to think of how long it'd been since the first time his trainer and he had observed another Pokemon in the middle of a battle, the moves used, and how quick attack had jumped out at him as something he just had to learn! Fortunately, Kelsie had been of the same mind and she'd approached the boy who owned the other, and they got to talking.
Of course it left him time to talk to the rattata that he owned. She was nice, and explained the basics of the move, gave him a demonstration, but told him he needed to work hard at it, to build up his speed so he was sure to master it quickly.
It'd been a month now at this point, more or less and he'd been relentless in getting faster. He'd done everything he could think of! He'd eaten more sweets (and gotten a tummy ache...that had been a very bad idea)...he'd eaten more of the foods he disliked (after all...who could like that stinky stuff Kelsie called brussel sprouts? ewww) but that didn't seem to help much either.
Neither did more (or less) sleep..in fact less sleep made him feel like he'd turned into a slowbro! That hadn't been any fun. So he exercised by running around outside (and inside to his trainers dismay). He climbed anything he could, ducked under and around and behind. Kelsie made an obstacle course for him and timed him, and it seemed like every day he got a little bit faster, but not fast enough.
He stood there today, and he reviewed everything in his head, a determined look in his eyes. Kelsie wasn't home yet, and he had a feeling that today was the day. It had to be! He'd been working so hard at learning this move! Without a predetermined signal he was off and running through his obstacle course, bobbing, weaving, jumping, and when he touched the ground he didn't even feel winded (what a nice change that was!) and he felt like he'd done better than ever.
He was still running the course when Kelsie came home from the store, and she watched him, timing him and when she called out "Great job Cupcake! You've beaten your old time by a long shot!" he was startled and came to an abrupt halt and nearly fell on his face as a result. He looked pleased with himself as he ran over to her, and lept into her open arms licking her cheek as she laughed. "Think you're ready to try a battle with your new move? I think you are."
Two days later he faced off against a Treecko and he was confident. He knew he had this! So when Kelsie yelled out "Cupcake use quick attack!" he was ready and he was off in a blur of fur and he felt himself connect with his opponent who went skittering backwards, leaving him a moment to quickly skip back to where he'd been before. He had this! If it was possible he had a grin on his face as he realized he'd definitely learned the move and win or lose he'd still won because his training on this move was done. Sure it wasn't perfect, and he'd need to practice to get better, but he had the basics, and it was what mattered, it was the foundation for the rest.
That Kelsie loved to bake was no secret, and at times he wondered what she loved more, decorating her goodies or being a trainer and suspected it was probably a pretty even thing in terms of preference. Not that he minded one bit, it meant he got the responsibility of taste testing a lot of her newest creations, and while some of them didn't taste very good, most were wonderful. It was just a good thing she used to much that was good for people to eat, and not totally full of all the bad stuff.
Today he'd gone off exploring knowing Kelsie was working on a new complex recipe and wouldn't have anything for him to try until much later so he figured he'd do a little training, or exploring. He was resourceful and would find means of keeping entertained while she was occupied.
He was thinking maybe he could find something for her to use to decorate whatever it was she was baking, either a branch of berries that she could pluck off, or something. Sometimes she mixed the things he found in with the batter and it tasted sooooo good biting into a still warm cupcake with fresh berries in it!
Cupcake bounded off in search of something he could bring back to Kelsie when he saw something brand new and he lost sight of his original goal. Instead he was exploring this new thing, trying to figure out just what it was.
"I...don't remember ever seeing this plant here before..." he sniffed at it a moment, surprised when the single flower bud on it opened up and inside was the prettiest...flower....(well it was on a plant...but it didn't look like a flower!) he'd ever seen.
"Never seen a star shaped flower before.....it's so pretty! I bet Kelsie would like this, and could even find out what it is." he bent his head to bite the stem as close to the ground as he possibly could when he found himself yawning. "Wow...I'm sleepy..." he shook his head, fur standing on end as he bit the stem and started walking carrying his pretty star flower home.
"Kelsie will...*yawn* love this I'm *yawn* sure of it...why'm *yaaaaawn* I so tired suddenly..." he stopped a moment and brought a paw up to his face rubbing it over his eyes a little with another yawn that likely should have unhinged his jaw. "Gotta...get home before it wilts..." Yet he found himself laying down instead, his star flower resting between his paws as his head dropped down next to it.

Naked Cupcake
"Oh wow...it's dark out here. I fell asleep out here I can't believe it. Kelsie is going to be so upset!" Cupcake started to run back home, wondering vaguely why everything looked so different, so..out of it's usual perspective. Still he didn't pause to get answers instead running quickly, wincing cause the stuff on the ground was hurting his paws, which was also odd.
"Ah...there's home!" he smiled brightly as he ran toward that all too familiar house and toward the small flap installed on the door for him to go in and out of, wondering again why it seemed so much lower down than normal, it was supposed to be at eye level. How...weird!
Still he contorted his body to start through the flap and frowned. "Too...tight...ngh!" his head was through but the rest of him seemed stuck! Why!? He went through...well how long ago was it now?
He could hear Kelsie on the phone as he struggled with his door flap. "I don't know where Cupcake could be, he's been gone since yesterday, and no amount of calling and searching has found him. I'm really worried. Please let me know if he shows up there, thank you." he heard the phone be hung up, and he fought all the harder to get in before giving up.
Cupcake sat there outside the door tears welling up in his eyes...tears? That made him frown a moment as he reached a paw up to wipe at his eyes only to stop. "Why...does my paw look like a...hand?"
He stared at his hand in surprise, fingers closing and opening, hand turned to look it over front and back, and then he realized he had feet, and toes! He wiggled those with a giggle. "Oh wow...I look...like a person!"
He also realized his ears were his usual ears, and he had his tail which was a comfort really. He reached up in a panic then to his throat, and relaxed finding his collar in place. "Oh thank goodness I didn't lose this. It's the only thing I can think of that might help Kelsie recognize me!"
On his feet again he stared at the flap realizing he'd never fit now, and with fumbling hands got the door opened and he stepped inside, and came face to face with his trainer who stared at him with wide eyes.
"Who...are you and why are you naked!?" she was beyond surprised of course to have a naked child in the kitchen, who had...ears and a tail? Was he trying (badly) to cosplay?
"Kelsie! It's me, it's Cupcake!" "Impossible! Cupcake is a little Eevee, not...some naked boy in my kitchen!" "But Kellllllssssiiiieeee! I swear it's me, don't you recognize my collar you gave me?" She looked at it, and he saw the puzzled look on her face.
"Cupcake?" "Uh-huh it's me!" "But...how?" "I dunno. How'd Dea's get to looking like they did?" Kelsie looked puzzled a little longer, and shook her head. "Well..I need to find you clothes, you can't stay naked. Maybe Eilam can explain things to you...about being like you are now." because there was things she couldn't teach a boy after all!
"So you believe me? You believe I'm Cupcake?" "You do look like you did before. Your fur...turned just how I would have pictured your hair being if you were...well like this. Yes, I believe that you're my Cupcake." "Yay!" and he flung himself at her and hugged her tightly licking her cheek, and she laughed some. "Alright first rule. No hugging naked. Second rule, you probably shouldn't lick people anymore. It's sorta...weird now." "Oh..okay. I have a lot to learn don't I?" "You do, but don't worry we'll all help you."
Cupcake knew it'd take some work, and many lessons and reminders to get it all down, but he was determined to make it work!
Cupcake was adjusting...somewhat slowly to his new form. The fact he had hands with opposable thumbs and then the whole legs thing. He was mesmerized by his new body some days, and others is just down right confounded him.
Today was no exception. Kelsie had shown him how to work various things now that he was able to, and that included the radio. He'd always liked listening to music, and now was no different. Except now he found himself inexplicably gyrating to the notes.
Of course he was completely uncoordinated and untalented but it didn't stop him from enjoying himself. The radio dial was spun to various stations and he listened to a wide variety of things, letting his body move as it wished to the beats. So he found himself jumping up and down, bopping back and forth, and generally just making a fool of himself.
Then on came a song that said to 'walk like an Egyptian' and he was stymied. How did an Egyptian walk? Kelsie was busy so he couldn't ask, and he shrugged it off and went back to enjoying the music to a point. Except the next song said to 'walk this way' and he flailed a bit.
"Walk what way?! I don't know what way you want me to walk!" he was yelling at the radio in frustration at this point, and quickly switched the station before he completely lost his cool. Except that song left him even more confused and he sat down on the floor staring at the radio. "How...do you set fire to the rain? Fire is weak against water! This song doesn't make any sense at all! Stupid music!" and with that it was switched off entirely and he rubbed the back of his neck with a sigh.
"The more I learn about being like this...the less I truly understand." he shook his head a little...but reached out to turn the music back on. He really did like it. Maybe he could find something without words to listen to. He managed, except the music was sooooo slow and boring he started dozing off a little. "That's no good...maybe to go to bed to...but not now!" finally after slowly turning the dial and painstakingly tuning the dial he found music that had no music, but lots of good beats, and he was back to jumping around like a maniac.
To the point that after awhile he got tired and sat down to rest a moment...only to doze off curled up on the floor where Kelsie found him a short time later. She switched the station back to her preferred one before turning it off, only to hear Cupcake talking in his sleep. "Stupid Egyptians and their walk...not walking.." and she couldn't help but laugh some with a shake of her head as she covered him with a blanket to let him sleep. "Guess he got his fill of music today."

Cupcake vs Luvdisc!
"I dunno Kelsie...you sure it's a good idea for me to learn this TM?" "I don't see why not Cupcake. You're strong enough for it. You know quick attack, and I think you learning double team makes sense. You might find it handy."
Cupcake shrugged and nodded taking the TM from her, and opened the case it was in. He felt an odd sensation, a sharp pain behind the eyes which dropped him to his knees with a wince, but suddenly he knew just how to do the move!
He was glad they were outside, and thought it took him a few moments to get back to his feet, shaking his body out like an animal shaking the water from it's self, he was bright eyed once he had, tail puffed out behind him.
"Alright lets try this..."
"Alright Cupcake, use quick attack followed by double team!"
He took off at a spring, amazed at how much faster he could run now in this new form, and he got faster with quick attack, and within moments he had several copies of himself all running and dodging around the obstacle course Kelsie had set up.
"Good job! Try dodging and weaving from the start next time so its harder to keep track of which one is really you."
"Okay Kelsie!" all four of him raised their right hand with a raised thumb, his voice echoing in four part harmony, and he laughed losing concentration, and he came to a stop hands resting on his knees.
"That was weird! Lemme catch my breath and we'll try again, then you can use your friends Luvdisc you're babysitting to see how well I do." "Sounds good Cupcake, let me go get her."
She stepped in while he dropped to rest a moment, and out she came a few moments later and moved over to the small pond their family had on the grounds. "Alright Luvdisc come on out. Cupcake needs your help." A few moments later the Luvdisc was there and Cupcake was on his feet ready.
"Okay Cupcake, one more time!" "You got it Kelsie!" and he was off and running again toward the pond, this time his copies were moving back and forth quickly, mixing themselves up. "Quick Luvdisc, use water gun!"
She watched as her friends pokemon shot out a spray of water and only got a copy Cupcake. "Again Luvdisc!" "Luuuuuuuuv!" and out came another shot of water, this one catching Cupcake full in the face. "Good job Luvdisc you found him! You did great Cupcake!"
There was a snicker as she saw him standing there dripping wet and looking slightly unhappy about that fact, ears twitching to get the water out of them. "Well I got the move down...needs some work but that's what practice is for anyhow. For now, I wanna dry off. The downside to this form, is my clothes are now soaked. Ew."
~Three months after Cupcake initially grows to child form....
"I don't know if I want you learning this move Cupcake." "Why not?" "Because it's dangerous, that's why! There's a reason it's called Double-Edge!" Kelsie stared at him, shaking her head with a sigh.
He was becoming more obstinant, so much like boys her age and it was worrisome really. It'd been months now since he'd gone from being an Eevee, to this child form...and having seen Eilam, she wondered if perhaps the same thing wouldn't happen to Cupcake, that he'd end up growing up more. It would explain his attitude lately, and why he'd grown a bit more reckless in the last few weeks.
"If you don't want to watch, then go back inside Kelsie." there was no smile on his face now, and it was so weird to see this serious look on his face, it just didn't seem to fit well on his usually happy face. "I don't plan on really ever needing to use this." "Then why learn it!?" "Because you never know when it'll come in handy. Go inside Kelsie." his words were hard, and he actually glared at her till she went inside.
"There. Distractions gone. I've watched the move done more than once. I know how to do it...now to just do it." he was a little concerned he had to admit, but he didn't dwell on it. "Can't back out now..made a big enough stink about practicing this move...now do it!"
He had some tackling dummies set up...except he'd made it so he had to leap over a pit to get to them, and at the bottom was some poking up sticks. If he didn't jump far enough he'd fall and end up being stabbed by them. Harsh he knew, but how else was he to learn a life-threatening move? It wasn't like he wanted to test it out for the first time ever when it was a real life and death situation!
A few deep breaths were taken, his eyes closed and he took off running, a burst of speed put on as he neared the pit, and with a yell he jumped as hard as he could and missed! He slammed into the opposite edge, and felt one of the sharp sticks p***k his foot hard enough to bleed as he flailed trying to get up.
Once he was up he lay there catching his breath, and then looked his foot over. "Sore..bleeding...it'll heal." he pulled out some bandages from his pocket and wrapped his foot up and secured it, excess back in his pocket and he was up on his feet again, limping but determined.
Kelsie was fortunately not looking out the window as he tried over and over, and continued to fail at clearing the pit. "Maybe I made it too wide..." he was slightly discouraged after his sixth fail. Both feet were wrapped, as well as a hand. He'd managed to avoid the spikes half the time, though part of his tail was a bit tender. "Okay...once more."
A deep breath was taken and held before he let it out focusing. "You can do this..." his eyes snapped open and he was off at a run ignoring the pain, and he jumped later than he had been, felt his foot push off the edge of the pit as he launched himself forward...and crashed into his dummy sending it, and him to the ground in a heap.
"WOOHOO!! I did it!! I need to jump later to go far enough! Woohoo!!" The dummy was set up again, and he tested his theory with more energy than that last attempt, and he found it was right, if he waited to the last moment to jump he'd make it!
He lay there in the grass laughing, tackling dummy rolled off in the grass. "Ahhh...I feel so happy now!" he'd been worrying about this move for awhile, but that anxiety was gone now. "Guess I should go inside and let Kelsie look me over. She's gonna be upset seeing me hurt." he shrugged and got to his feet and limped inside, his long missing smile back firmly in place.

Dear Journal,
I've had you for...oh I dunno months now. I just haven't bothered to use you till now. Not really sure why I am now either, it feels like I'm talking to myself and I do that enough as it is. Oh well, maybe it's so I feel smarter writing to myself and not talking to myself. Maybe it's just because I'm on bed rest after learning my latest move a few days ago. I'm bored out of my miiiiiiind.
Whatever the reason I'm here trying to make sense of everything. It's like one moment I'm myself...an Eeevee with a trainer, and the next I look like I do now. Like a human boy, but with the tail and ears of an eevee, and it makes me feel sorta self conscious at times. Not all the time, but more so lately it feels like.
I've also been angry a lot lately according to my trainer Kelsie. Though she's said to stop calling her my trainer since I'm not a pokemon anymore. So my friend Kelsie. That's weird too....friend...trainer..friend...bah. She says I'm easier to anger, and that I remind her a lot of the boys at school. Loud, usually angry, argumentative. Then she mutters something about 'teenage hormones' and stops the subject.
Why do I get the sinking feeling I'm in for more changes in my life? I mean I've just gotten somewhat used to being on two legs, and wearing clothes. I'm almost afraid of what could becoming next. Eilam grew up awhile ago, and I was so surprised! I was so used to him looking like he did, and I was so excited...then he wasn't like himself, and now I feel awkward around him. Like I'm a nuisance or something. I suppose it doesn't help that shortly after the first time I saw him after I started to look like this I tried to crawl in his lap and lick him.
....yeah. I'm still kicking myself for that one. Old habits are hard to break, and that was a pretty old habit, licking and nuzzling people affectionately. I keep being given really weird looks anytime I do it. At least I stopped peeing on the trees outside. Kelsie about died when I did that the first time. It's funny actually.
I dunno. I hope whatever's going to happen, happens soon. I'm tired of feeling so...not like me. So angry, and defensive. I want to go back to being my usual happy self.
How strange...my feet are sticking out of my blankets.... Cupcake yawned lightly and tugged his blanket back down over his feet, only to discover now his upper body was now chilly. There was a slight tug of war between his feet and hands as he tried to cover up before he gave up. His blanket must have turned sideways, that's why he couldn't cover proper. So he turned the blanket...only to discover it HAD been the right way.
"Wha...?" there was a low yawn as he sat up rubbing his eyes a moment to clear them looking down at the blanket that was covered with balloons. Kelsie's idea of a good blanket for a little boy...and blinked in surprised. "AAHHH!! Keeelllsssiiiieeee!!!"
Cupcake yelped and jumped from the bed, the long shirt he'd been wearing to bed was now much too small...and the underwear he'd had on beneath had ripped in the night as he grew and so he was struggling with the shirt when Kelsie came in and blinked.
"AH! Naked Eevee!"
She was bright red as Cupcake yanked his blanket off his bed and wrapped it around his waist looking down at Kelsie in amazement. "I'm taller than you!" "Yes...you are...you look older than me now too." he did by a year or so, how interesting. "Wow look how fluffy your tail is...and those long ears!" "Kelllssiiiieeee...what about clothes!?" "Fortunately, I have some for you, though they might not fit right..."
Five minutes later there was a cry of "KELSIE! My ears are STUCK!" Fifteen minutes... "KELSIE! I can't wear these pants without a hole for my tail!!" twenty five minutes, two ear detanglings, and a hole cut out for his tail later he was dressed and looking himself over in the mirror.
"Wow...nice, I like the clothes!" he grinned at the sweater with the silly cartoon face looking pleased that for whatever reason his collar had grown along with him at least. "Alright...lets get some holes in the rest of your things so you can get your tail in." "Sounds good to me!"

New Move 1
"Hmm...been awhile since I've learned anything..." he was wandering through town looking at the various shops as he went, and he found one that specialized in Pokemon items and stepped inside looking over the various TM's dismissing several right away because they weren't things he could learn.
One caught his attention though and he picked it up looking at it thoughtfully. Maybe...
He continued to poke about the store, and finally with the TM in hand he moved to the register and paid for the new move.
The bag was stuck into his pocket and he ambled back out and into the streets. He found a quiet park and settled onto a bench the TM pulled out and looked over.
After a couple times he was pretty sure he knew the new move and eased to his feet making sure the area was clear before he attempted it, he swung his hand through the shadows of the tree he was under and felt the power in his hand, a dark ball of energy in his hand that he threw towards a tree watching it shake, leaves falling from it.
Now...he'd have to try this move at home and in the full light to see if he could manage it without having any shade to help him along. Still, he grinned. This was kind of neat.
Once home he did practice for awhile in the yard finally finding a way to manage the move even in direct sunlight. Cupcakes fingers flexed as he cast the latest shadow ball with a chuckle. Why yes, this new move was quite nice, and a good buy.
"But I'm not even a water type...why would I want to learn rain dance Kelsie?" "Why did you learn shadow ball? Because you can. You never know when it might come in handy." "Well I guess you've got a point."
He watched the TM, and laughed. "I was afraid with the name there'd be some stupid dance I'd have to do." "Nah. But you're summoning any how, so maybe that's why the name....since rain dances were supposed to summon rain and all." "Probably. Still, glad I'm not dancing."
He watched it again to get the move down and got to his feet and walked outside. No sense soaking the furniture if he did this right!
It took a few tries, but he finally got it on the third, and laughed as the rain did start to fall for a little bit, maybe ten minutes before it cleared up again. It'd only rained in their yard too. Brilliant!
"Heh not a bad little move. Thanks for getting me the TM Kelsie!" "You're welcome Cupcake. I know things haven't been easy since you first changed, but I'm glad you're the way you are now. It's so nice being able to talk to you!" it was as far as she was concerned!
"Come on I have dry clothes set out for you." "Thanks Kelsie." He ran inside laughing, water dripping from his ears and tail as he stepped in. Dry would be SO nice!

Nerves
"What am I thinking? I haven't seen her in so long...and here I am, planning on waltizing in there with a lame present and asking her out on a date. She's so beautiful she probably already has a boyfriend. Probably doesn't even remember me. Ugh....I can't do this!"
The Eevee teen was pacing along the street nervously, running a hand through his hair and completely messing it up in the process. He'd liked her since he first met her, and she'd been in his thoughts often. Not quite the forefront, but not all the way at the back either. Ohhh no. She'd been prominent though, and he realized he'd been thrilled to change like he had, because it meant he had a chance with her. Hopefully.
"I can do this...I can!" he strode into the gift shop he was pacing in front of and bought a balloon from in the shop, smiling at it, before he was walking down towards the cafe.
Only to stop a few feet away feeling sick to my stomach. "Oh god...what if she isn't here today? Or at all? Suppose she doesn't work here anymore? Then what..." he panicked a few moments longer a deep breath taken and he finally pushed the door open eyes scanning the room before spying a familiar set of head wings.
"Oh...thank god." and off he went, to hopefully woo the girl of his dreams and snag a date for the concert he'd won tickets to. He mentally crossed his fingers as he came to a stop beside her. Please let her remember me...and be single...and...
Bad News (Set about 6 months or so after Cupcake and Cotton Candy start dating)
It was funny how an absolutely awesome day, could be absolutely ruined by bad news. That was how it usually worked though wasn't it? He was sure it was the case any how.
The day had started off perfect. He'd left early to go spend the day with Cotton. It was a little past their six month anniversary, he'd been sick on the day it's self so plans had been made to celebrate once he was better. So here it was about a week later and he and Cotton were out and about. He'd taken her to his favorite spot at the beach, and had walked along with her hand in hand, and enjoyed the picnic lunch he'd packed while they sat on the sand under the umbrella he'd set up.
Sunset had come and he'd settled behind her and just hugged her close, a blanket over his shoulders and just enjoyed the sight, even if she couldn't see it herself. It was still the whole being together thing that mattered most to him.
He'd given her a gift he'd bought for her, a pretty charm bracelet that he'd put some charms on. A cupcake...a stick with cotton candy, and from one of those little Pokemon-centric stores he found other charms and on went an Eevee, a Flaffy, and a Woobat. It wasn't much but it was something really.
After taking her home, and walking her to the door...which led to standing there at the door kissing for a bit, he finally made his way home...only to come across the most horrific thing he'd ever seen.
Smoke filled the air and as he came close he started running in panic. He recognized the place on fire. It was the bakery attached to his and Kelsie's house! He went running and burst into the bakery, finding her in the middle of the inferno trapped under some burning lumber. He pried it off her, burning himself in the process but got her out about the time the sound of sirens filled the air.
"Let me help you sir." Kelsie came around long enough to smile at him, her hand...all sorts of burned...raised and rested against his cheek as she was strapped to a gurney and the two of them loaded into an ambulance.
Once at the hospital they rushed her inside and he followed along with, though he was kept in the waiting room while they worked on her. His own injuries were treated, reluctantly as he didn't want to leave the waiting room and miss any news...though after being assured he'd be given the news where ever he was he allowed the burns to be wrapped, and an overall check up given. He hadn't been in the fire and smoke long, but long enough.
He was back in the waiting room, doing just that when the doctor came out. Cupcake rose to his feet and listened to the words. "I'm sorry, but she didn't make it. Her internal injuries were too severe." Cupcake's eyes filled with tears and his knees started to buckle.
He barely noticed the Chansey's next to him, nurses there at the hospital catch him and helping him to sit. After a bit they brought him to the morgue, and there, he said his goodbyes to his trainer and friend. He hugged her though she couldn't feel it, and wept.
That went on for awhile, though finally he left...and started to walk. It was late at this point...middle of the night really but he didn't care. No instead his feet carried him where they wanted to go, he was on auto pilot.
His hands swung at his sides, bandages a bright white in the dark and before long he found himself stopped outside a place he knew well. It was where Cotton, Tulip and Tillie lived. Still, he didn't knock, for one he couldn't, and two a part of him registered the time and he didn't want to wake them.
Instead Cupcake sank to the ground and sat there with his back against the wall, knees drawn up and he stared off without seeing anything really, save for the fire...Kelsie's body....it brought tears to his eyes and they flowed down his cheeks unchecked.
He would stay this way till one of the girls came out and found him there. Cupcake didn't have it in him to move just then really.

Sharpteeth! AHHHH! (Brenny/Cupcake IM rp) (Set after Cupcake and Cotton's first date, and before Kelsie's death.)
Today was one of those days where he had nothing to do. Kelsie was busy, Cotton was busy with some modeling gig for the day and he wasn't having much luck with holding down a job. Something about his tail being a hazard, and his ears kept catching on things. So...today was a wandering day. ...and he was bored. A sigh escaped the fluffy teen as he wandered rather aimlessly.
Brenny was bored. His Daddy was at work and he was pretty sure--but not positive, that Mei was sleeping. What a day to be bored on! Without a companion to keep him busy, Brennen turned to his small collection of dvds. There weren't many he could view without the comfort of an adult near by. He picked one up and went outside. He paused, beaming. There was someone now! Someone he didn't know, but it was someone! Brennen hadn't yet grasped that it was a bad idea to invite strangers in. "Hey! Come watch a movie with me!"
Mei was indeed very much asleep at that point, settled into her spot on the floor with a rather comfortable pillow she slept on, and a blanket. She was cozy and this was some of the best sleep she'd had in quite awhile. Traveling did make decent sleep difficult. So she was utterly unaware of what Brenny was up to. Which was why Cupcake found himself being hollered at, and blinked looking around. "Who me?" how puzzled he sounded. "Do I know you?" he sounded confused, but hey given they neither one were Pokemon anymore, it was possible he knew that they'd known one another...only to have shifted to these forms and not recognize one another.
"No, and I don't know you!" Brenny responded, brightly, "But we can be friends! I'm Brenny! Come watch Land Before Time with me, please? Its too scary to watch all by myself... Daddy's at work and my pet's sleeping, so...." he gave the older boy a hopeful expression. "I have popcorn!"
"I'm Cupcake, it's nice to meet you Brenny." he tilted his head curiously. "Land Before Time? What's that?" he'd never heard of it! He did hesitate a moment though. He knew going into peoples homes uninvited was bad...but then he had been invited and he was bored...so...why not? "Alright I'll come in and watch it. Hopefully your dad won't get mad I'm here though." well at least he was aware this might not be a good idea.
"Cupcake's a strange name," Brenny chirped cheerfully. "Its nice to meet you too! Ooh, its a movie about dinosaurs! There's plant eaters and sharpteeth and they go rawr rawr!" He demonstrated by holding his arms in front of him and showing his teeth. "Its very scary, but daddy says not to worry! He says they can't come out of the television." He paused, shaking his head. "My daddy never gets mad! Maybe you know him! His name is Connie!"
"My trainer named me that when I was still a pokemon, I really loved eating cupcakes." he still did, he just knew better than to gorge on them anymore. "Dinosaurs huh? Those are pretty cool." he chuckled at the kid. "It's true, stuff can't come out of the tv. Alright, I'll watch with you." he came up towards the door, but shook his head thoughtfully. "Can't say I know a Connie, nope."
Brenny took hold of Cupcake's hand and led him inside. "You sit down," he instructed, "I'll make popcorn! Maybe after, Daddy will come home and you can meet him too!" He was sure Connie would want to be Cupcake's friend, too. He went into the kitchen and started a bag of popcorn in the microwave. "Yay! Just two minutes!" He went to the dvd player and inserted the dvd. "We have to wait for it to beep." Cupcake let the boy lead him inside, chuckling quietly to himself, the kid was adorable honestly. He sat down as instructed and looked over his shoulder at where the kid was going. "Need any help with the popcorn so you don't burn yourself?" well it was best to ask, really!
"I can do it!" Brenny assured Cupcake with a smile. "I know how to make popcorn, but not much else." He went back out into the kitchen when he heard the telltale beeping of the microwave. "Yay! Its done! Do you want it in the bag or a bowl? I like bowls best! Easier to share. " "A bowl is probably better, less chance of fur getting all buttery like it would from inside a bag." he laughed some and shrugged. It was a fact though. He waited patiently like a good guest while Brenny got everything set up in the kitchen, the movie waiting to be played. "So if this is a cartoon about dinosaurs, why's it scary?" he could see the animation looked friendly enough...what could be so bad?
Brenny poured the popcorn into a bowl, bringing it out to the living room. He sat on the couch next to Cupcake. "It just is," he explained. "Its scary and I don't like scary things... But I like the rest of the movie, so I watch the scary parts too." He took the remote and pressed play. "You'll see!" "Well if you say so. Never seen this before, so it should be interesting." Cupcake settled on the couch comfortably and waited while the movie was started. He heard noises from another room, but recalled being told of a pet, so didn't give it another thought, especially as the noises died down. Instead, he focused on the movie with interest.
Brenny positioned himself on Cupcake's lap. "It's going to be scary soon," he informed the older boy, "Then it gets sad! And then scary again... So you'll have to keep us both safe! I'll keep you safe, too. If you get scared, you can hug me." He leaned his head against the boy's shoulder to demonstrate. "See? I'm good at cuddling!"
Cupcake blinked down at the boy in his lap, a nod given with a serious look. "Alright Brenny, I'll keep us both safe then." the boy cuddling, it brought a smile to his face and an arm curled around him as he looked at the screen again, indeed jumping in slight surprise at the scary part.
"Told you!" Brenny said, hiding his face in Cupcake's chest. He gave a shiver. "I told you there was a scary part coming up!" He paused, glancing back at the screen. He turned around. "Okay, it's okay for a while. Then it gets sad!"
"You did tell me yes." Cupcake rested his free hand on the back of Brenny's head and hugged him close as he buried his face, letting him look when he moved his head to do so. "A sad part now..okay..." he kept watching and sure enough the sad part wasn't long off....and he sniffled some. "That is sad!"
"He's all alone now," Brenny frowned. He could relate to that. "I don't like this part," he hid his face in the older boy's chest. "It gets better after, though! promise! It does!"
Cupcake's arms curled and he hugged the boy close, resting his chin lightly on the top of his head for a few moments while the sad portion continued on. When it seemed to have passed though he smiled. "Better is a good thing."
"Yay!" Brenny beamed as the story continued. He took a handful of popcorn. "Look, he's making friends! He's not alone anymore!" The celebi boy pointed to the screen. "That's good! I don't like it when people are alone."
"I don't either, it's not good really. I hate being alone myself. Makes me glad I have Kelsie, and my girlfriend." it was a very good thing as far as he was concerned. "I don't think I like that one...whats her name? Sara? She's mean..."
Brenny nodded. "I was alone, too," he said. "My Daddy found me in the woods after my sister left. I've been looking for her ever since. I haven't been able to find her, though..." he sighed, leaning against Cupcake. "You have a girl friend?" he asked. "I have lots of girl friends."
"I'm sorry to hear your sister left. You're a Celebi right? I haven't seen any other Celebi's I hate to say." he hugged the boy with a smile. "You do huh? How many? And yeah my girlfriend is a model. I met her when I was still a Pokemon though." he smiled warmly.
"I am a celebi!" Brenny seemed delighted that the eevee teen had recognized his species. "You haven't? Oh. But maybe you will! Cecily's different than me, though. She's pink! I was green! Like my hair! See? But she's pink." He hesitated at the boy's question, then began to count on his fingers. "Let's see. Mitsuru, Mitja, Lucy, Dea-- Lots of girlfriends! And Mei's a girl. She's my pet-friend, though. Does she count?"
"If I see a pink Celebi, I'll be sure to let you know." he smiled and listened to all the girls being listed off. "Okay so you have friends that are girls...Cotton is the girl I love." he looked thoughtful. There were some awfully familiar names spoken, but figured there was others with the names Lucy and Dea, and not just the ones in Kelsie's family.
"Yay!" Brenny wrapped his arms around Cupcake and gave him a squeeze. "Thank you! I've asked everyone I know to look for her, and I'm sure if we all look together, we'll find her someday!" He wasn't sure whether she'd be particularly happy to see him again, with how they had argued before she had disappeared, but. He found that he didn't especially care about that. He wanted to know how she was doing. If she was safe. "And Fluff, too!" He paused, then beamed up at the boy. "Oooh, you love her! Cotton and Cupcake, yay! I love everyone. You too! I love you!"
"Well hopefully you find her one of these days Brenny." he nodded his head and hugged the boy, only to blink and laugh. "I think we know some of the same people! Does Dea also have an Arceus named Eilam?" what a small world! "If so, I know her! That would be my trainer Kelsie's big sister!" he gave a laugh then. "I do love her yes, a whole lot. You're adorable you know that? I hope when I have kids they're as sweet as you."
"Hm... Eilam? I think so. Lucy was talking about him." Wasn't Eilam that big, silent boy who tended to stay close to Dea at all times? Brenny thought he was a bit intimidating, really. "Yay, you know her, you know her! Maybe I can meet Kelsie and we can all be friends!" He snuggled into the boy's shoulder. "Yay, adorable! I hope so too! If you have kids, bring them here? I want to see them! I want to play with them, and I can be Cotton's friend too!" "Yep same people how cool!" very cool really. "Maybe so, Kelsie is busy she's getting a bakery set up, and Cotton is really busy with her modeling. I spend plenty of time with her when she's not busy working though." which was good. He looked up in time to hear the roaring of the sharp teeth and blinked in surprise. "AHH!"
"My Daddy's busy a lot too. But maybe I can make him stop being busy long enough to play with us sometime! You could bring Cotton over when she's not busy! We can all play. It's always good to have time off work to play." He looked up when Cupcake did, and grasped at the older boy's shirt in surprise. His blue eyes widened. "Sharptooth!" he cried, hiding his face. "Are they going to get eaten?"
"Some time to play is a good thing. I don't know how much time Cotton and her roommates have for that though really." he worked around Cotton's schedule though. The child hanging onto his shirt was hugged tighter. "I don't know, I've never seen this!" he yelped lightly...and let out a louder cry of surprise as he felt something tapping his shoulder and a sleepy "Who are you...and why are you being so loud?"
"Mei!" Brenny exclaimed, moving so he could face the mienfoo. "Yay, you're awake! This is my new friend Cupcake! I invited him in so we could watch the Land Before Time, and we're at the part where they almost get eaten!"
She gave him a tired smile, and nodded her head. "Alright...well you two keep it down a little, and enjoy your movie." she was overly tired and didn't know why. She felt bad for not spending more time with Brenny, but was glad he had someone to watch a movie with.
"You can watch with us, Mei," Brenny suggested, reaching for the pokemon. "I'll hold you and you can sleep. We'll keep quiet! Really!"
Mei nodded and merely crawled up into the child's lap with a yawn and within moments was back asleep. "She seems awfully tired." Cupcakes voice low so as not to wake the now sleeping Mienfoo. He was rather content with the boy and Pokemon settled on him like they were. This was kind of nice."
"She is. Her trainer died a while ago and I found her in the park. She thought it was a house. I asked Daddy if we could keep her, and he said yes. But I don't think she's rested well since then..." the celebi boy seemed uncharacteristically concerned for the mienfoo in his lap. He gently ran a hand over her, stroking her back.
"Oooooh...that would do it." he nodded his head and hugged the boy gently. "Well hopefully she's catching up on all her lost sleep and won't be so tired after awhile." one would hope anyhow really. For her part, Mei was oblivious to her surroundings, but had relaxed fully in Brenny's lap, looking peaceful at least. Cupcake turned his attention back to the movie again and saw the happy scene of them all being reunited with family. "Awww...happy ending."
"Yay!" Brenny said, glancing at the screen. "Happy ending! I hope Cecily and I have an ending like that, where we're reunited. Do you think things happen like that, for real?" He petted Mei gently, so as to not wake her. "I wonder if Mei will find a star..."
"I think good things like that can happen yes. I don't know if they happen very often, but I'd like to think it can." he smiled softly at the boy. "Hmm...she could. But what would you do then? You call her your pet..she won't be a pet if she finds a star."
"If she finds a star, I'll grow up soon and I can be her Daddy," Brenny explained with a nod. "I'll take really good care of her. I love her."
"That sounds like a good idea. I'm sure she'll be happy knowing she has you looking out for her and loving her." he ruffled Brenny's hair gently. "Thank you for inviting me in for the movie it was really good." he smiled at the Celebi boy. "I should probably go so Mei here can sleep in peace. It was nice meeting you!"
The night was dark, but the Gunjo district was still booming as those with less legal work came out to play. Mitsuru herself had come into town on a whim, feet carrying her where the wind took them. The shopping, dancing, outdoor movies; every little bit drew in outside tourists like moths to a flame. It was just far enough away from the main part of town to be its own world, yet close enough for major revenue to pour in. Mitsuru kicked her bare feet up into the air, quick to keep her staff at her side as she circled the central fountain. Large bubble lights lined the square, and some where shaped like Pokemon themselves! It was all so magical, so wonderful! ….So very boring.
Cupcake was killing time...he did that a lot these days. Cotton was of course busy working as were Tulip and Tillie...and Kelsie...well she was gone now. So rather than sitting home alone he'd taken to wandering around. He wasn't the same free spirited Eevee he'd been in his youth...or even just a few scant months ago. He was withdrawn to a point, ears almost drooping, tail once his fluffy pride...seemed to have lost some of its fluff and luster due to his depression. It wasn't like he wasn't trying to bring himself out of it....he was! It was difficult was all. Tonight, he found himself...somewhere. He rarely paid attention. He knew how to get back to where he needed, that was all that mattered.
Mitsuru hopped onto the lip of the fountain, despite the protests of some passerby’s, and took a better look at the area. With one hand grasping the edge of the water dispenser, the other holding onto her staff, she was able to see all around the square…And what she saw had her bounding off the fountain, sending a spray of water all around her.
Big, brown ears – they had to belong to him! They just HAD to! Mitsuru weaved through the crowd, her staff tapping both people and stones before she slid to a stop infront of the Eevee teen. He was taller than she remembered, more handsome, and ten times cleaner. “Cupcake!”
Cupcake was lost in thought, so didn't hear the commotion being kicked up around the fountain, the complaints being issued as people were whacked by a staff. It was the sudden appearance of someone in front of him that had him stopping in his tracks and blinking looking up from his feet in surprise studying the very pretty teen girl in front of him. "M...Mitsuru? Is that you?" his ears perked a little, amazed to see his childhood friend. She looked so pretty...and clean!
Mitsuru’s wary smile broadened into a full blown grin as she straightened up, holding her staff upright while the base rested against the ground. “I’m so glad that you remember me! I remember you; and the mud slide.” She smiled, and held out her hand. “Come on, let’s go grab a bite to eat so we can catch up.” He didn’t look so good; oh, he was handsome, very much so, but he looked so out of it…she had to know why so she could fix him up like new!
"How could I forget you and that mud slide? That was so much fun...and took me absolutely forever to wash all that mud from my tail." he gave a soft almost broken laugh. It would seem the teen didn't do much laughing these days. He looked to her hand and took it after a moment with a nod. "Alright that sounds good." not that he would eat much. He looked like he'd lost a bit of weight too, clothes a little baggier than they should have been. It could have been thought he was recuperating from a serious illness honestly. "Anywhere you want to eat, my treat." so long as one of them ate....right?
She laughed and shook her head. “I can only imagine! Your tail…oh goodness, did you have to cut some of the mud out?” Mitsuru had turned back to look at said tail, and was shocked to find it’s glow visibly diminished. That had her looking at him much closer. He didn’t look good; not at all. “Cupcake are you…” She shook her head and pulled him into a quieter café, one with an outdoor patio that looked out over a canal. They were seated at a table, and given menus. “So…what’s new?”
"No, but I had to use the hose for quite awhile till all the mud was out...and then I think another pound of it came out in the shower when I got soap into it. Lets not get started about my ears...those took awhile too." he gave another low chuckle, wondering what she'd been about to say. Once settled at the table he looked out over the canal, enjoying the peaceful location, the sound of the water whooshing softly against the stone before he looked at the menu a few moments. "Well...lets see...been awhile since we've seen one another...where to start." he looked thoughtful. "Ah, I have a girlfriend, her name is Cotton Candy...we've been together for...oh seven months or so I think?" he tried to recall...had he missed an anniversary and not realized...? No...no not yet a year. Good.
"Oooh, congragulations!" Mitsuru clapped her hands and leaned forward with a smile. "What's she like? I'm sure she's lovely! You'll have to introduce me sometime." She leaned back to look at her menu, frowning over the lack of vegetarian options. Finally, when the waiter came around, she opted for a chicken pasta dish...minus the chicken, and when the waiter left.... "So...what's really been going on? You look rough."
Cupcake had ordered...something. He wasn't really sure what it was. Something with seafood in it he thought. Maybe. Could have been. He'd mostly just pointed to something at random really. "Cotton's wonderful, I met her when I was still a pokemon. She's a model along with Tillie and Tulip her friends." there was a sigh from him though as she got to the heart of the matter. "A month...month and a half back something like that...the house my trainer and I had been living in caught fire while I was out on a date with Cotton....and when I came back..." he trailed off and swallowed hard. "They were pulling her out...she was in bad shape...I got to ride with her...but....Kelsie didn't make it..."
"A model, huh?" Well, well, well! She hadn't met any models before, and had barely seen them, since she spent most of her time in the woods, but she knew enough to figure out they were gorgeous people. She was also probably very nice; after all, Cupcake was dating her. Then the hard truth came out. Mitsuru's smile faded into a concerned frown. "I'm...very sorry to hear about that, Cupcake. Loss like that is hard, but at least her last moments were spent with you."
"I was the first one there...I ran in and pulled burning debris off her. Something in her bakery which was attached to our house caught fire..." he held up his slightly scarred hands, they weren't bad, but not perfect. "I'm glad I got her out...that she didn't die in there...but her internal injuries were too bad..." he sighed again deeply. "I've been living with Cotton and her friends ever since...no where else to go and Tulip was worried about me being on my own." it was best he'd stayed, with his hands injured doing much for himself was difficult. Their food came then, and he halfheartedly poked at it but didn't take a bite. That had to explain how thin he was. "What about you? What's new with you?"
"Oh my goodness, you ran IN there? You could have been killed!" Mitsuru squawked, one hand pressed up close to her face. That is, until he showed his hands, at which she reached out to take in her own to inspect. "Oh, Cupcake...I...I can't say that I would have done the same, but it was a very brave thing you did. I'm sure she was very proud of you." Giving his hands a light squeeze, she moved back into her seat to take a mouthful of her food. She ate a good full two forkfuls before speaking again, motioning to his own food to get him eating. Mitsuru would force it down if she had to! "I just got back from a pilgrimage into the mountains to find the Gracidia flowers. I found them, but I was hoping to find others of my kind as well..." She sighed. "They were supposed to be there, but...well, sometimes things just don't work out."
"I didn't even hesitate...I could hear her calling for help...barely..but I heard her. I couldn't leave her." he let her inspect his hands and gave a light smile. "They're okay now. Mostly all healed up. I was told before long the burns should fade more. I'm lucky it wasn't worse. Not even a singed tail or ears to show for it." amazingly. He sighed and stabbed at a forkful of his food and took a bite of it, chewing as he listened to her. "I'm sorry you didn't find any others. Could they have gone to a different mountain?"
"Just make sure you take care of them." Mitsuru pointed her fork at him, and gobbled up another mouthful. The way she ate was obvious enough that she didn't have a steady diet; in fact, this trip was an extreme treat for the young Shaymin. Most nights consisted of berries and roots, at best! "You know, I didn't think to look...I have a friend I'm trying to find, since I told him I would come back. I think...well, if they were still here, they would have been there, you know?"
"I am. I have some cream stuff I'm s'posed to use a few times a day to keep them moist and all." he had it in his pocket in fact, he did remember to keep that stuff applied amazingly. He watched her eat as he took a few more bites of his food eating slowly. As little as he ate these days it wouldn't do to pig out. "No luck in finding your friend either I take it?"
"Good! ....Does it make your hands sticky? " Grown or not, she was still the same curious beast she'd always been. Mitsuru downed her glass of water in one go and sat the galss on the edge of the table, awaiting the waiter to refill it. "No, unfortunately. Though, I haven't been looking like I should have. I kind of just got back." She smiled.
"Not sticky so much as sort of slippery and greasy feeling...but I guess that's a good thing. For awhile I had to put that stuff on then cover my hands to help keep all that moisture in. Now, it's just sort of like applying hand lotion I guess." he saw her done with her water and slid his own over, he hadn't taken a drink of it yet. "Really? What a coincidence running into one another tonight. I'm really glad though, I've been hoping to run into you again you were so nice."
She didn't touch his water; just gave him a point with her finger, and slid the glass back at him. He needed it too! "Ahh, is that how that works? I've never had a burn before, so....If your hands now are anything to judge by, I'm sure you needed all the moisture you could get." Mitsuru finished off the last of her pasta and sat back to nibble on bread instead. "Really? Wow, thanks! You were pretty cool, too. I've never seen someone with big ears like yours before. Not that they're a bad big! Just big."
He took the water back and took a sip of it, a rueful smile given. Of course with the three girls busy working he neglected himself something awful, but he did put on a good attempt at eating and such when they were all around. "I don't recommend burns, they hurt." a lot. He had eaten about half his food, and decided maybe the rest could go back with him at this point for a later snack. He'd eaten more in one sitting than he had in the last two days he realized. His ears twitched and he grinned some. "I don't think I've seen anyone with ears as big as mine either but I like my ears."
"What...what kind of Pokemon are you? I've been meaning to ask for a while, well, since we first met, but I never got around to it. I don't recognize your ears or your tail." Mitsuru smiled at the waiter when he came by with a pitcher to refill her glass, down the cup and whistled at him to return. This time her smile was wider, more innocent, and she sipped it much slower this time around.
"Me? Oh...I'm an Eevee! I never changed into anything else cause of my collar." which he still wore to this day. Though it was getting rather worn. He was afraid it would break soon. It was something he'd need to replace at some point though he'd keep it. It was all he had left from Kelsie. He chuckled softly at the waiter eying Mistu a moment as she sipped the third glassful of water. "I think he expects you to chug it as soon as he walks away again..."
"Oh, cause of the stone on it? What do Eevee's evolve into?" She'd never met an Eevee before; what did he look like, when he wasn't human-i-fied? Were they big, little, small, or large? Breaking out of her moment, Mitsuru looked at the waiter and took a good sip, before tipping the glass to him. "I think that means we should get out of here soon. He'll be expecting a big tip now."
"Yeah this is an everstone...means I won't ever change...and well we evolve into a lot actually..." he smiled looking a little more animated. He asked for a box and got his left overs into it, and took the bill that had been brought to him and paid for dinner, leaving a decent tip. "Lets see...if a Thunderstone is used...a Jolteon results...then there's Firestones and Flareons, waterstones and Vaporeons....Espeon's occur if we're super happy in the day time...and Umbreons if we're super happy at night. Then there's leafeons...something about a green stone there, I'm sort of in the dark on them...and glaceons and an ice rock...got me." a shrug given. "I've heard there might be another sort of Eeevee evolution out there...an Syl..something. I think it's just a rumor though." he nodded slowly.
Mitsuru nearly choked on her own spit. "You can evolve into ALL THAT? Isn't that a lot of pressure? Maybe not for you, because you've got that Everstone, but....wow." She wouldn't be able to decide! What was that, seven? eight? She'd lost count. The young Shaymin was suddenly very glad that the only thing she had to worry about was her alternative form. "You can change if you're happy? At different times of the DAY?" She curled her lip, unbelieving even as they walked out of the cafe and back out onto the street. "No offense, but I'm really glad I'm not one of you."
He reached up and lightly patted her on the back. "Careful now. And yeah...I've seen a few of the others around. I read up on Eevee's awhile back and was amazed by all that. I'd had no clue. I'm glad I'm just me. A lot of people like us when we're small....we're...well not that big." he held his hands apart a distance for length...and again for height. "We're sorta small when Pokemon. Umbreon's are kind of cool looking though...all black with gold bands. If I had to evolve I might want to be one of those, but...well she wanted me an Eevee...and I plan to stay this way. So, collar."
"That's still a lot bigger than I was. I was just this big." She copies his actions with hand dimensions, though visibly smaller. "Umbreons, huh? They sound nice...but not like Cupcake. Black and gold just isn't you. I think Kelsie was right; you're better off how you are right now." She honestly couldn't imagine him looking any different; what if his personality changed along with his looks? Nope, nope, that just wouldn't do.
"Wow you were tiny! Funny to see how you look and think of how small you were before." he smiled warmly at her. "You look much nicer all cleaned up and not muddy." he laughed softly. "This is the most like me I've felt in a long time. I've been avoiding talking about her...and it's made it hard on me...and the others I know..." and he sighed realizing how much Cotton and Tulip at least had to have been worrying about him. He wasn't sure about Tillie still.
Mitsuru laughed, and gave him a little clap on the arm. "Thanks! I actually started taking human showers, and they are AMAZING." All of that warm water...why hadn't she been doing that all along?! It was so much better than river water! Never really taking her hand off his arm, she stepped in a little closer, to get a better look at his face. "Kelsie wouldn't want to see you withdrawn, Cupcake. I know you enough to know that isn't you. She would want to see you happy, doing what you love and being with those who love you instead. It's alright to feel sad and remember her; just not so much that you lose yourself."
"Aren't they? I like showers a lot. Though I admit my tail takes a lot of care." with all that fur no wonder. Though it could do with him eating better, resting more...it looked thin compared to how it should. He stopped walking as she got closer, and couldn't help a soft smile...though tears filled his eyes...and he simply hugged Mitsu. "I miss her...so much. Maybe...if I'd been home and not out with Cotton she'd have been okay...wouldn't have been working in the bakery...or maybe I could have gotten her out sooner before she got so hurt.." why yes, survivors guilt as it were.
"I know about this conditioner stuff that I put on my hair...It's great. Makes it smooth, and keeps it slick." She'd have to show him it later; right now she was too busy talking, much like she usually was. When he hugged her...well...she was already mid-hug by the time his arms finished wrapping around her. "Maybe, but then maybe you would have gotten caught up in it, too. Things work out in odds ways, but I know she wouldn't have been happy if you'd gone out with her." At least, she assumed that was what Kelsie would have wanted. "You can't change the past; only the future."
"I've tried that...took a lot to work through my tail. Way too much." so he skipped that usually. Didn't want to constantly use it all. Though once wet his tail did compact. A lot. Her hug felt good. Oh sure Cotton and Tulip gave hugs, but still the hug was nice, even as he cried a little on her shoulder. He'd been trying to be strong for so long now...that he needed this release. After a few minutes he pulled away drying his eyes quietly. "Yeah...maybe you're right...and then Cotton would be sad...and I wouldn't want that." not one bit.
She held him close, and rubbed her hand up his back, patting and applying pressure when she felt his tears hit her shoulder. Mitsuru cooed, murmuring words of enrouagement as onlookers and passerbys either scuttled, or stopped for a second before she had to wave them on. As dark as it was people were still as nosey as ever. "See?" She smiled at him, even if it was a somber reflection of the one she'd worn not even an hour ago. "You're a boyfriend now; boyfriends don't make their girlfriends sad, if they can help it."
He took a deep breath and let it out slowly sniffling some. It had felt good to cry. He hadn't yet he realized. Though look at him smile brightly. "I want to be more than that, but I'm being patient and not rushing. Maybe closer to a year or so I'll propose." he was that serious about her.
