He nodded a bit with the assessment that the event had been unfortunate though he might have used stronger words himself but Kettil didn't go to correct the other boil on the assessment. At the seeming concern over how he had done with the Insanity was really kind of touching considering they didn't really know each other at all, "It was difficult...It hindered my ability to bring Endzela back out. I am afraid she is a little sore at me about it. Seems I owe her many apologies before she'll forgive me, right Endy?"
Endzela huffed a bit, "If you had been stronger minded maybe it wouldn't have been that much of an issue. You've been slacking in your training since we got here."
Kettil offered a bit of a laugh, "She never lets up some days," he felt a bit embarrassed about being scolded by his familiar.

"I think it's nice.. and funny." He giggled, shoulders shaking freely. "You have someone who cares and wants to keep you on task hmm? And a constant companion!!"
The strix was fond of company and friends. Many of his closer friends had significant others and thus he spent his time alone for the most part, stalking the halls or forests. The only encouragement he received was less encouragement and more demanding, sent from his father to dictate his behavior. He didn't mind usually but lately it had been affecting him.
"How long have you been at the school, Mr. Kettil?" He hadn't met or seen him until recently.

Endzela clicked her beak approvingly at Ulmuka's words while Kettil reached up and rubbed at her feathers on the side of her head with a small smile, "I'd be lost without her, completely lost," he agreed softly with a bit of a chuckle.
"He wouldn't be able to find his shoes without me," she said with a bit of a hooting sound afterwards to signify her own laughter.
The boil just grinned, "Yes I would, I just 'forget' to give you something to do," he teased a bit then turned his attention back to Ulmuka, "Ahh~, just a couple of months or so. Not as long as some have been here. I'm pretty well adjusted to it, though. How long you been in school?"
There Kettil went, assuming things.

"Oh I love shoes.." The strix giggled again, head bobbling slightly. Any glance down would find that the strix wore pointed white wingtips made from a mysterious pebbled hide, hand cobbled by their appearance. They probably cost more than the the contents of several student's dorms. At the same time, the strix seemed not to care to be standing in a field, sinking them into the soft turf. His carefree attitude attested to his lack of investment in the finer things. He simply enjoyed looking nice. "If you ever want to go shopping I know a shop.." He looked at Kettil's feet. "Magnificccent boots they sell. My treat!" The words stretched with a sibilant hiss of breath and his offer of free shoes actually semmed sincere. "Hmmm.." The strix scratched a talon to his chin. "Well I will be shortly going home for a break. Apparently I am done my first term." He grinned. "I would prefer to just stay but my father insists." His displeasure hardly seemed obvious. Was he hiding it with his smile? Or was that emotion also completely lost on the bird-boil?

Kettil blinked over at Ulmuka as he made the offer and he grinned over at his newly made friend and gave a small shrug, "That's a right nice offer but I dunno if I could bring m'self to impose on ya like that," he said thoughtfully as he gave a bit of a gander over toward the Strix's shoes. Wow. Yeah. Those looked expensive.
Endzela felt a bit of pride as Kettil didn't see fit to take advantage of the other boil's offer - at least not right away. See? Kettil could be polite!
He smiled a bit, "Well, sometimes goin' home for a bit is a good thing. Just to be with family and reconnect with others. My family is real close knit. Think if I didn't go home after a bit 'Ma would have a bit of a fit. As well as my Granny."

Muka snickered a bit at Kettil's refusal of his offer but he wagged a finger and he could probably tell that the strix was plotting it happening in the future anyway. He shuffled when the reaper began to talk of his family. His head turned in curiosity as if the things Kettil said were totally foreign to him. "Hmmmm it sounds very nice. My family is ahh.. much different. And I don't have an ummm granny?" His throat thrummed audibly. "I have many brothers and sisters though. I have only met a few of them. My father is ahhh.." he burst into giggles. "Active."

Kettil reached up to rub at his chin, "M' 'Ma and Da have always been together and I grew up with my brothers and sisters, not that it is that fantastic. Though couple my older brothers are already grown and have lives of their own an' stuff. Think 'Ma would have Dad's hide if he was 'active' with anyone else," the boil laughed as if amused at the thought.
Though having had a situation with his ghoulfriend just recently he saw how and why it as an issue.
"As far as Granny goes...Well she's just livin' with us cause she doesn't wanna be alone, y'know? Gotta respect yer elders an' that means takin' care of them when they wanna be taken care of," he nodded a bit.

"Aaah." Muka nodded, understanding a bit. "My father is a bachelor. I am just recently learning about committed relationships." He giggled. "I had never seen such a thing except on skeevee." To many this would seem sheltered or 'a shame' but to the strix it was simply how he was raised. "Oh yes! Always respect for elders and ghouls." Another core of how he was taught. "Is your granny very old?" He'd never had a grandparent that he'd met. He was fairly sure that his father's father may have still been alive, but he'd never met him before.

"Skeevee don't compare to the real thing," Kettil laughed a bit, "I'm learnin' that the hard way m'self," he admitted with a light sigh, him trying to figure out what to do with his ghoulfriend now that he had one was ... difficult at best.
When asked about the age of his grandmother he tilted his head over toward his Familiar who offered no advice and just stared back at him expectantly, "Well, gran isn't like super old, she's still got a spring in her step and still as mischievous as a scareling in a candy store," he grinned slightly as he turned his attention back to Ulmuka.
