"Skills? Survival, Hardiness, Wisdom, Respect, Spirituality..." he knew he was listing traits more then he was describing abilities but in the end they often linked closely together, "I have no desire for weaklings in my realm. I am their superior, they must adapt to my rule. Those who have been embraced by gentler gods grow soft, are handed their needs without thought or effort... they lose the edge that comes with living strongly."

It was imperialistic view, aloof and demanding, but it suited Desert. Harsh, dry, exacting... Ashanti knew exactly how and what he would do, given the chance.

He nodded as he surveyed the area, "Our search begins here then."

"Yes, important traits. I have not met many other gods. Though it does not surprise me that they have grown soft since the fading." An amused smirk slipped across his lips. "For workers I seek anyone able, though for foremen those same traits are essential. I have no time for time wasters or layabouts." He breathed in the smoke from the glass forges almost as though consuming it. It made him feel stronger.

He walked towards one shop, stepped through the door and into the darkened room. The glass maker stood with a glowing piece of glass, shaping it with metal tools. He worked with speed and skill, behind him an apprentice stoked the flames of a furnace.

The artist looked up and glanced between the man and woman that had appeared in his workplace.
"Can i help you?" he called above the roar of the fires.

Ashanti nodded, "I have little problem with layabouts so long as the time not spent in action is spent in glorification." Really, he considered those who took a step back from 'life' to spend in contemplation and prayer a sign of devoutness - to fast for days in the heat of the sun until the visions came seemed like a noble pursuit to Ashanti.

The forge itself was spacious and large enough for a handful of workers... so his gaze had strayed from the glasswright to take in the dark, soot-encrusted workplace. Industrious certainly described such a place!

"Mm?" Ashanti's gaze soured as Viira mentally recoiled from the place, disused to fire and soot and such enclosed spaces. The heat did not bother the god as it did the mortal but they could both agree small, cramped spaces were extremely uncomfortable. "We are looking for the glass makers of Baadris. Industry and Desert stand before you."

The glass maker looked at the woman that spoke as a man for a moment. He knew of the gods of course, they had lead them from the desert to the pantheon. It took him only a moment to realise that the two before him were some of the trapped ones. Gods not yet reborn, bound to a mortal body.
"We are the glass makers of baadris." He replied, bowing his head. His voice was deep, matching his tall, stocky physique. "Welcome to our forge."

"Is glass your only venture?" Isambard asked the man. Surely there were other production lines, cloth? he had seen them selling cloth in the marketplace. Perhaps they needed one.

The man chuckled at that and gestured around the forge. It was designed for multiple people to use at once and the walls were hung with the tools of a variety of disciplines, "I work glass but there are blacksmiths, weapon and armorsmiths and jewelers who use this forge as well. There are smaller forges for specific needs elsewhere. Were you looking for a specific master?"

Ashanti shook his head, " No. I had no particular purpose or person in mind, I merely wished to meet those whose lives are tied to the desert. What do you say of your homeland? Describe it to me. "

"Baadris is, was a beautiful, sophisticated city. A glass palace, buildings, shops. Our market was famous for miles for the skilled crafts that were sold there. It was an oasis in a harsh desert climate. If you want to know more of life in the desert then you may wish to find the nomads. They lived among the sands, at one with the landscape." He smiled and nodded to both the gods. "I believe they live somewhere within the Pantheon."

Isambard nodded Ifan's head as he listened to the man.
"No specific master, I am merely taking audit of the skills available. I believe that some organisation is in order to help the rebuilding."

The galssmaker gave another nod.
"Yes, that is true. I think many don't know where to begin. If we should try to return to our city and rebuild there, or set down roots here."

"Oh?" The man set down his tongs and gestured for his apprentice to take his place as he gave them his full attention, "What sort of organization? We've been doing pretty decently in the aftermath of the demons - look at the market. It's thriving."

Ashanti gave a thoughtful sound, deciding that he would, indeed, search out the nomads. Hungry for knowledge of his realms but sorely lacking in memories, desert thought he might find a direction in the pursuit of these mortals.

Trapped in her own corner of her mind, Viira sighed. Ashanti was blustering and hot headed but as much as he wanted to lord it over someone, he lacked a purpose. Maybe that was why he was constantly flaunting his godhood at her? He clung to it like a child clung to a favoured by broken toy. An intriguing thought.... and one, she realized with some annoyance, that made Ashanti more tolerable.

"This set up is primitive." Industry explained to the glass maker. "Inefficient is Yes, you're florishing but are you content with living in camps for the rest of your life?"

Ifan wrestled with Industry, the god was still weak and was therefore not too hard to reign in, it was a strange feeling, fighting within yourself for domination. It was frightening to think that it would only get harder and harder until one day he was nothing more than a distant memory for those who had known him.
"I've seen the nomad I think." Ifan managed once he had control of his body once more. "Industry's servants have a dwelling for him within the pantheon, where the refugees live. At least I'm sure they live near. Esha was talking about them."

The glass smith blinked and narrowed his eyes a little, wondering if that was an insult coupled with some sort of proposal. But the tone changed almost immediately and with it the topic. "The nomad I mentioned? There you are then! Someone to ask your questions of, Desert." His gaze slid away from Ifan to Viira.

And the pirate captain nodded, "Industry? What plans have you?" The mortal seemed to have already taken back control and he sniffed, turning his attention to the glass maker. "Thank you for your assistance, you've actually be useful mortal. Do you have a name?"

Despite his desire to socialise Isambard remained inaudible. His voice, however echoed within Ifan's mind. The young man smirked, though the words in his head were not funny. Still, if he didn't laugh he just might cry and that would be terribly embarrassing.

"He says once he has gotten rid of me he will begin a campaign to improve and expand the industrial sector here." Ifan shook his head and turned his eyes back to the man they had been speaking with.

"Khalid." The glassmaker replied, bowing his head in respect for the two ... gods. "If you have anymore questions I will be here."
