The little colt couldn't hide the disappointment on his face when she indicated she had to leave. But then, "We...?" Salubri was caught a bit off guard at the invitation: after all hadn't he just run away from family was he so sure he was ready to run off and join another?
But he couldn't deny that he had been horribly unhappy ever since he left. It wasn't natural for creatures such as himself to be off alone: herds, flocks... maybe that's how it was meant to be. He smiled and got to his feet quickly. "My legs are fine!" he insisted, trotting up next to her with barely bridled enthusiasm.

Vanmoriel raised a brow at the colt's excitement, not aware of just how much she was helping him. It seemed, to her, the right thing to do in this situation. He didn't have a home and she had one with plenty of room. It was perfect, really. Natural.
"Great! It's not that far. We'll head to the springs before we go home so we can wash up." Trotting forward, Vanmoriel grinned and chirruped. "You'll love it here, mama and papa and my sisters are great! They're really nice."

"Sounds fun," Salubri said, following her. His spirits were already lifting, getting excited about these new prospects. He missed his brothers, so having other foals around his age was something he found himself looking forward to.
When the springs came into view, Salubri nudged Vanmoriel with his shoulder and flashed her a confident smile before galloping ahead, jumping feet-first into the water.

Vanmoriel laughed as Salubri nudged and ran past her. She chased after him, bounding into the water, splashing and laughing. Deeper in the water, she sunk down and let out a sigh of happiness.
Swishing around in the water, Vanmmoriel watched Salubri carefully. "Do you think your parents are looking for you?" She realised suddenly that one day he might leave and she frowned lightly. "Will you leave if they come?" She pouted. It was nice having a boy her age to pay with. She loved her sisters but sometimes they could be a little prissy. They didn't even let her paint them anymore.

Salubri shook his thick, thistle-like mane as he surfaced into the water and splashed around. For the first time in many weeks he was truly having fun. But the mention of his parents by Vanmoriel gave him pause for thought and he slowed down, frowning. It was a fair question, of course, and he pawed at the soft riverbanks under the water as he thought it through.
"I... don't know," he said softly, looking off into the distance as if he half-expected them to come galloping into the river to join them. He did miss them, as much as his rambunctious late-colthood self had convinced him he didn't need them. "I mean, I've been looking a long time. If they ever find me, I may be a stallion by then..."
He caught himself and cleared his throat, picking his head up. "Well, you know. I real real stallion... " He remembered Vanmoriel speaking about the flock; about how they grown children stay with their parents all together like a herd. "Hey!" he said, a thought suddenly dawning. "Maybe, if they do, they can come with us all too?"
