"No one, I see you are both observant," she replied to Mengyao, though the corner of her mouth was tilted into a smile. At least they both hit it, this time! She'd take what she could get.
Besides, she loved to fight, so this wasn't such a bad way to start her excursion. After it had been through its rounds with both her acquaintances, Amarus took her turn to sweep out its back legs. Wait, did they even have anything to rope it with?... Amarus darted into the dorms while they were (hopefully) whittling it down that last bit, and grabbed one of the drapery cords from the common area.
"Prepare to taste my lasso skills, alpaca," Amarus said, pausing briefly to allow for alpaca-flooring from one of the others, ideally. Though not too much flooring, she hoped; the Alpaca looked faintly ill.

"Agreed," he said to the horseman of Conquest with a small sigh. And now wrangling. Executioners didn't wrangle, they killed. Not to mention with what little clothes the horseman was wearing, rope couldn't be imagined anywhere on his person . . .
Cautiously he approached the woozy-looking alpaca, but the second his hands went up the creature bounced away in a drunken manner.
"Would the head priestess miss one or two of these things?" he asked most seriously.

"Observant, yes," replied Mengyao with ease, eyes following the movement of the ghoul as she lashed out at the beast - followed by a very unsuccessful attempt at capturing it by the other horseman.
Mengyao sighed.
"I have a feeling she would," he responded, refraining from rolling his eyes. This time it was he who tried to capture the damn thing, but it skittered away from his hands, looking dizzy.
"Oh for heaven's sake - "

Amarus tried to position herself so that the alpaca couldn't escape, hoping that at least with the three of them they could keep from having to chase the wobbly, ill creature down the campus. At least she'd learned how to make a lasso from War's lessons.
Too bad she had knotted the lasso to her sash, thus undoing the belt of her overrobe and flinging the entire thing at the frightened alpaca. Woops.

He growled a sigh as he tried again when the alpaca looked ready to fall over. "I see no charm in these creatures." They were almost like humans: stupid, violent, and hardly worth their time. Unlike normal humans, however, this one was actually posing a challenge. Normally Shikoba would be happy with this, but by now he was tired of being made a fool of by mere animals.
And then the mere animal spat at him and stumbled away, leaving his hands with nothing but air to grasp.

And Amarus, who was not Yue Lao as she belonged in an entirely different universe, did not think that Alpacas were created because that was stupid; she was sure this one was the product of breeding, and would cease caring promptly after it was caught.
Amarus did, however, still wonder if they would start enrolling the Alpacas into the academy, as they appeared to be about as witty as a first year student anyway. Having detached her overrobe from the lasso and tried again, she was much more successful, but still missed by an obscene amount.

Shikoba, had he been privy to these thoughts of hers, would have laughed.
As it was, that breath was used to curse as the thing leapt out of the way again. The urge to kill was rising.

Meanwhile Mengyao was wondering if there was any way Medea would allow for them to bring back an alpaca that was, to say the least, not quite in the same condition it had been in before.

She really didn't understand why an Alpaca that was so dizzy and confused could be so hard to catch.

Shik wondered if it was possible to bring the alpaca back in pieces and have a priestess do her magic on it and bring it back to life. Or something. Could he please just stab it to death? Maybe that would stop the alpaca from wriggling out like that.

Amarus would have been fully complacent with either of them stabbing the Alpaca to death at this point. Really, she wouldn't have said a word.
She probably would have even lied to Medea about it, straight to her face. Heinous.
But not as heinous as that alpaca's stupid, adorable, hateful face. Amarus swung her lasso and roped it, caught it, tied it up and then threw it at the guys. "I'm Amarus, by the way, and here-- take it, so I can go back to my dorms in peace."

"I wonder if she was," Shikoba muttered as he leaned over and threw the bound alpaca over his shoulder; its weak bleating was music to his ears. Turning to the ghoul he gave a small nod. "Shikoba Len. Well met, Amaurus." Even if it had been rocky in the beginning, and quite frankly her take on their kind was less than favorable, the War tradition in him took some pride in her spirit if nothing else. Though before he took his leave, he noted several more alpacas striding across campus.
". . . Peace might take some time more, but luck all the same," he added, glancing at Mengyao before heading back to the forest.

As Shikoba was leaving, he might have noticed that the alpaca he had slung over his shoulder had mysteriously disappeared and was being dragged away by a certain Conquest horseman.
"Come now, you can't take all the credit, my dear man - let us share in this...success."
And, with a wave over his shoulder to the ghoul, Mengyao trotted off with the alpaca.
