Writhing in pain, she took slow quick breaths and felt her lungs being poked by her broken ribs. Her eyes watered up and she grit her teeth and tried to make herself rise by herself, but was unable to. The pain was to great and when even breathing cause you to hesitate, it's hard to take a deep breath and bite through the pain. Usually Coraline doesn't let people see her like this but with her life so close to ending she didn't have time to care about the way her social appearance looked. She could hear the beast take another large stride and with it her perception of time slowed down to halt it seemed. She opened her eyes and in the blurry blue she could see her leg protruding from underneath her dress. Her long leather boots covering her bare legs were starting to chap and break at the seams. Leaning against the wall she was starting to give up. She felt like this quest to leave was becoming hopeless and she was just getting started.
But when she was just about to just lay down and let death take her, a vision of her father and her sitting by the fire outside, watching the stars making out the constellations and creating one for herself, which she inclined to name Coraline, her father looked over at her and said ''Coraline, do you know what we say to death when he comes to take us?'' She shook her head and told her father that she didn't know the answer. He smiled at her and said ''Not today.''
Coraline felt something wrap around her unbroken arm and pull her to her feet. Feeling rejuvenated she took a deep breath and forced through the pain to fill her lungs to their max capacity. Reaching down the took her sword from the ground and started to limb with a greater sense of purpose. Sheathing her dagger, she started to job down the hallway and took a quick glance back to see the giant mushroom falling over on itself. It laid there for a few seconds then started to move again. A paralytic spell. Coraline wanted to hit herself for not thinking of that one herself. As she was galloping down the hall, Eliya leading her by the hand she said to herself quietly ''Not today.'' She felt glad that even though Eliya wasn't going to ever trust her again, or even like her for that matter, that she still came back to make sure the two of them made it out alive. She also felt a surge of something that she couldn't quite make out. It was a sort of happiness but also some kind of lust for this woman who was putting her life on the line for her.
But as soon as they turned the corner Coraline took her hand out of Eliya's and leaned against the wall to catch her breath. ''Thank you.'' she said quietly and ashamed that she needed help to get out of there. She used what was left of her magicka to heal herself up. She was still greatly wounded but at least a bit further from the edge of death. No longer being of the brink she smiled slightly at Eliya. ''l fear l might die here...'' she said as she heard the footsteps of the monster slowly fading away, like it grew bored of toying with them and decided to make it's way back to it's nest. ''lf l do.'' she said hesitantly, like she didn't really want to ask her of this, but since she was the only person here she really didn't have a choice. ''lf l do can you tell my parents that l wasn't a bad person and that l'm sorry for acting like a brat.'' She hoped Eliya wouldn't laugh or mock her last request.
Her eyes started to well up and small tears started to roll down her cheeks. Using her hand to rub them off, she felt weak for the first time in her life. She was a young Altmer, blessed with natural affinity for arcane. A Prodigy as her parents called her, destined to do great things and better this world. They were so proud of their little girl when she was accepted into the Arcane University at the age of ten. The youngest one in their family to ever start studying there. She had a lot of pressure put on her shoulders to not mess this up, though she wasn't given this by her parents but by herself. They just wanted her to learn from the best. Being lost her her past, she didn't hear another sound coming towards them. It sounded like hooves walking towards them. Looking down the hall she saw what looked like a Minotaur, but, a lot more short and scrawny looking.
It's head wasn't that of a bull but that of a goat... It had long horns that didn't curl but just protruded up. It's body was rippling with muscles and long claws on it's fingers. In one hand it wielded a large crescent shape axe that it held with ease even though the sheer weight of it would cause Coraline to topple over if she were to hold it. It's legs weren't human but instead that of a goats and it had long black hair and beard that went out wildly. It's eyes were a pale gray and looking dead at them. When it's mouth open she could see it's teeth, but it snarled at them and it sounded like a goat. Taking it's hold of it's axe with both hands, it started to run at them. It charged at full speed down the passage. Coraline braced herself ready to strike at this, again, unknown enemy. Gripping her sword tightly she got ready to duck or roll, probably roll underneath him if the opportunity rose. Though in her condition she doubts that she would be able to.

Eliya ~ There weren't a lot of times that classic cliche's popped up in that brain of Eliya's, but several about leaving one bad situation for a worse one were scattered around in her head right now. They had managed to get away from their first monster. Eliya's paralysis spell had given them the edge they'd needed to get away, and though the creature could have pursued them after the effects of the spell wore off, strangely enough it didn't. The Altmer mage imagined that in the realm of Nirn a lot of things probably didn't make sense. The mushroom tentacled creature had, unfortunately, given the younger elven girl quite a beating. As the two paused while Coraline caught her breath, Eliya said nothing in response to the girl's appreciation. A sarcastic retort would normally be her natural response, but if there was anything beyond the severity of their situation, it was also that the girl's relationship had shifted. Now Eliya found herself second guessing each move she made around the younger elf. So the redheaded woman said nothing, instead keeping a look out as Coraline used what was left of her magicka to heal herself. The other woman's reserves would kick in after a while, but it would take some time for her magicka to fully recharge. At the moment she was at a disadvantage; well really the both of them were since they were working together.
Eliya's delicate ears listened as the last of the monster's footsteps faded away in the direction it had originally come. When Coraline spoke again, her voice was soft, but the older Altmer refused to make eye contact. ''l fear l might die here...lf l do.... lf l do can you tell my parents that l wasn't a bad person and that l'm sorry for acting like a brat.''The girl spoke haltingly, and there was a definite impression she didn't want to say what she was saying, yet she forced the words out. Eliya's blue hued gaze turned to rest on the young elf leaning on the wall across from her. Her green eyes stared at the child of not even sixteen. This girl actually still had parents who loved her. And they were alive. A flare of jealousy sparked. Eliya would give anything to have her father back, have a family that loved her. What was Coraline doing working for the Dark Brotherhood and Necromancers? Eliya had mainly joined and stayed with the former because they had basically become her new family, as much as a bunch of assassins, could, fill that role. It was evident this girl had made some poor choices in her life. Perhaps she hadn't had the right role models. Perhaps she had been tricked into the lifestyle she lived. Perhaps she was still young enough to change.
Eliya stared at the elven girl as she wiped away the tears that were sliding down her face. She took a step towards her and lifted up her arm, at the same time preparing to speak. Her hand halted in mid air, turning quickly into a single finger brought to her lips as she motioned for silence. Her sensitive hearing was picking up a new sound, this one coming from the hallway they had yet to go. The original right fork in their path. Coraline seemed pretty caught up and didn't appear to notice the faint sound of clattering. A second later she did thought, and both her and Eliya stared down the hallway at their newest nemesis. It was a tall and threatening looking creature, that looked to be a type of satyr....or combination between a mythical faun like creature bull...was this a daedric verson of a minotaur? Whatever it was, it was obviously dangerous and ready for trouble. It held a threatening looking weapon and wasted no time before speeding on its way towards the two women. Eliya didn't know what Coraline was thinking, didn't know what she was feeling. Probably terror similar to that pumping through Eliya's own Altmer veins. Think Eliya. She might not know this creature or its weaknesses but she was adaptable, flexible and determined. She was going to take a hefty risk, and if it paid off she and Coraline might find themselves with a few more minutes of life.
Stepping in front of Coraline, Eliya took off running towards the hairy muscular creature. Her own speedy momentum combined with that of the Satyr brought them together to clash in seconds. As they came together Eliya forced herself not to think about how large or intimidating this horned monster was. She forced herself to focus on what she was going to do, and what needed to be done. In her recent studies at the Arcane University she had just advanced to expert level Illusion spells. There was one in particular she thought might work in this situation, as long as she could make it strong enough. The Satyr lunged at her, his weapon spearing towards her, intent on cutting completely through. Eliya dove and rolled out of the way, at the same time releasing an expert spell of demoralize, and with the other hand stabbing viciously at him with her elongated dagger. She jumped up from the floor to see him run past Coraline into the other tunnel, as if oblivion itself had opened up for him. For all she knew, the creature could have come oblivion.
She breathed heavily as the clattering of hooves faded away. "Come on." Eliya gestured for Coraline to join her as they continued to make their way down the right side of the split. The younger girl seemed to have been able to heal herself enough to continue their way, but this time Eliya walked beside her instead of behind. With her reserves of magicka nearly spent, the mage assassin desperately hoped that whatever they encountered next didn't have magic of its own.

Eliya didn't respond to her and not that Coraline was looking for an acknowledgement, but with this Satyr beast killed the moment rather quickly. It's large weapon he held with ease in one hand frightened the little girl who perched herself on the wall. She stood there frozen in terror as if this monster had an aura that petrified anyone who gazed upon it. Her heart skipped beats like when Coraline used to be young and hop over cracks in the streets. It beat rapidly then stopped and would pick back up. The air she was choking on seemed to freeze her lungs and burn the back of her throat. Her eyes wouldn't gaze anywhere else except for this thing and she was too horrified to even blink. With her eyes drying out and starting to sting she still leaned against the wall, unmovable with trepidation. Eliya, though, seemed immune to this exhibition of might. Charging after the beast as it started to barrel down the hall, she moved with grace around it's weapon as it used it to try to split her small stature in two.
Her fight of flight instinct kicked in again and Coraline gripped her sword tightly. She was on the verge to charge after the thing without a second thought of never being able to see the sunlight again. But when she had the chance and was able to see her opportunity to strike, she was stunned to see the beast flee from them. With all it's might a well placed and trained spell could outmatch anyone or anything. Willpower could be broken easier then steel and Eliya's technique proved that point though Coraline could sense that both of their magicka reserves have been depleted. If Eliya was thinking of a place to sit and rest to regain their posture, Coraline too was thinking of something the same. But a little more dream like then reality. She wanted a warm bath, something to eat and a bed to curl up in to cry. Though she knew herself that wouldn't be the case but a girl could dream.
Racing down the hall with Eliya, the hooves making an echo in the opposite direction and trailed off till they couldn't hear it anymore. The two girls eventually found an enclave in a wall. The stones broke and gave way. The hole it made wasn't exactly a perfect circle and looked rather natural. But with her heightened hearing Coraline could hear something stirring within it's depths. ''Let's just move to a different spot...'' Coraline said quietly to her companion, if Eliya would even call herself that at this point. Down they went into the blue abyss. Luckily Coraline had gotten this ring or their trip would have been a lot more difficult and problematic. Their footsteps echoed subtly down but Coraline couldn't hear anything moving towards them. Her feet started to drag as she grew tired and wasn't able to comprehend how much time had gone by. Hours? Days? She couldn't tell. For all she knew only a few moments of her unusually long life could have blinked by. But if she were to put Septims down on a bet she would bet a few hours to a day.
As they turned another corner, Coraline still feeling like she was leading Eliya around, they walked into an open room. It was wide, much larger then any other room they had been in, and in the center was a large blue crystal suspended in the air. It gave off a blue light the radiated through the entire room, lighting it. It was bright with her ring on, so Coraline reached and slipped it off her slender finger. With the ring off the room was just normally lighted. She could see the crystal more easily with her ring off and with surprised at how large it was. It was at least six feet tall and weighted a more then six hundred pounds. Not only was it tall, but it was also wide, and felt like it should be impossible for it to be floating. With some strange sense of ease, Coraline walked towards the crystal and started to feel more and more comfortable. Though still too timid to want to touch anything that belonged in the place, she retracted her body a few steps, remembering how the ball of light she ran into did the same thing, for all she knew it could be a trap to kill her. ''This room seems as good as any. And hey, at least it has a light.'' her stomached started to turn and she wanted to just eat something. She doubt that Eliya had anything on her and if she did that she would share it with herself. Walking over to one of the corners dragging her sword against the floor, she sat down, staring at the large florescent shard in suspended animation. It slowly bounced in air and turned to the left when it fell down but when it rose back up it turned to the right.
Her arms and legs felt heavy and her eyes grew heavy and heavier the longer she sat there, staring at the sliver in air. She pulled out her own crystal and started to remember when she acquired it. How Eliya just tossed it over to her as the rode back to town. She saw the red light emanate off of it and her hands started to grew to a pleasant warmth. Holding it up to her chest she curled up into a ball and let it warm her body. Before she knew it her eyes were closed and her breathing regulated, if Eliya were speaking she couldn't hear her. ''l'm just going to take a minute... just a minute and rest here.'' she said lazily. She was already starting to doze off. Her wounds didn't seem to to hurt as bad as they should even though she felt like she should be in agony. With the her own crystal resting on her chest, her hands hold in there, as if she were holding a small token of love above her heart, she would cast a healing spell whenever she felt like her magicka supplies could take the lose.
Though after a few spells being cast, she started casting them less and less frequently till she stopped altogether. Falling asleep in the corner, she was to exhausted to even dream. It was just black. But she felt like she was aware to what was going on around her. She could ear Eliya breath, walk or even talk if she were doing so. She would just nod her head and mumble a reply that wasn't any form a word just some kind of response that would let Eliya know that she was still with her and a live.

Eliya ~ The two women ran quickly for some time before slowing their pace. They needed a place to rest, they couldn't keep up with this rapid pace Meridia was setting for them. Their second attempt at finding a spot to rest was successful, though they both had to walk for quite some time before finding it. Thankfully after the intensity of their initial adventure into Nirn thus far, simple walking was much preferable. Granted senses still stayed heightened and several times during the walk Eliya felt like something was watching her, but she could never pinpoint who or what. The redheaded female elf lost track of time as they walked on and on. It was more than apparent that this realm was a complex maze. It was important to focus on the twists and turns so that they didn't end up going in a circle and retracing their steps.
Eliya wasn't quite sure how it happend but somehow Coraline ended up a couple steps in front of her, so when they stepped into the brightness of the strange new room she was quite taken aback at the sudden change of lighting. Immediately she pulled her ring of night-eye from the finger that held it. The moment the jewelry left her skin, her world of blues was instantly reformed back into its original design. The room was rather large, but this was not what boasted curiosity. That itself, hovered in the middle of the expansive room, slowly rotating back and forth. It's color was a very vivid blue, and its suspension in mid air gave off a very distinct impression that magic was obviously at work. A crystal that size, what a meter tall? How wide? It took up a good portion of the room, though Eliya unexpectedly realized that she found herself extremely less concerned than she perhaps should be. Coraline moved forward for a moment like she might want to touch the thing, but appeared to quickly think better, instead moving back.
The mage assassin nodded at the other one's words. It was perhaps a better place then most, as it appeared for the most part to be devoid of any threatening enemies. Though she would keep an eye on the floating mineral. Each woman took a seat. Coraline took a corner, and Eliya slide down to sit several feet away, along the same wall. Her position gave her a good view of the entrance/exit, and she was close enough to the young girl if the pretty rock acted strange. The older elf did her best to ignore the red shard of light she saw her companion withdraw from her cloak. She stared straight ahead at the suspended crystal. She had an identical one. They had received them as tokens on a mage's guild quest. Eliya had traveled with some other mage's from the guild to investigate a rumor of an important artifact located near the border of Morrowind. When they'd gotten there, they had discovered evidence that Necromancers were inhabiting the area. Two of her guild mates had lost their nerve and headed back. She and a dark elf, Velryn had successfully retrieved the artifact, but in the process set off an alarm that began collapsing the tunnels. They had separated, Velryn with the treasure, and on her way out, Eliya had ran into Coraline. At the time, she had believed the young girl when she was told Coraline had been sent as back up from the Mage's guild. The thought might seem a bit incredulous, considering the distance and dangerous location of the cave, but Eliya had at the time shrugged it off, not being able to come up with another logical reason Coraline would be there. But now she wasn't so sure. Had the young girl been in association with the other Necromancer's the whole time? Had she turned on them to protect her cover? To protect her scrawny hide? It was too much to contemplate and gave a painful boost to the headache the assassin was already fighting.
She said nothing when Coraline mumbled about resting for a minute, but her gaze turned from the hovering object to rest on the girl. She stared at her for a moment before turning back away. If the object was going to attack, it would have attacked by now surely? Perhaps it was meant to lull them into a false sense of security. Or perhaps it was a small reward for Eliya's choices. But that wouldn't make any sense, Meridia had wanted her to kill Coraline. Not help her survive. The headache was getting worse. She closed her eyes.......

She was to afraid to fall asleep in a place like this. Though her body had different plans for her. It wanted to go into a dormant stance. As much as she tried to keep from falling asleep it seemed inevitable. She didn't feel particularly exhausted, though it might have been the adrenaline from her past few fights that kept her going, but when she sat down it seemed like a cold blanket was put over her. She wasn't too fond of overly hot weather so a cold blanket seemed much more relaxing. And the one draped over her was tightly wrapped and had her in it's fibers. She looked around the room and saw Eliya too sitting down. Her eyes were closed and she noticed that she was looking like she was in some kind of pain. She opened her mouth to ask her what was wrong but when she tried to speak no sound weaved it's way out from between her lips. Not wanting to try again, she looked back down at her feet and closed her eyes. She drifted into slumber quickly.
She was in an lnn. Sitting at the counter with a large pyre at her back that rested in the center of the room making the whole room a warm environment. She had this nagging feeling that she wasn't in Cyrodiil but instead in Skyrim. If asked about it later she couldn't tell you how she knew, just that she knew she was there. Looking around the room, people seemed to be wearing warmer clothes and a totally different fashion. A bard played a lute in the back, singing a song about the Oblivion crisis and how it affected the world, even to this day. She turned her head to the other side and saw a man with a hood. His face was veiled from her eyes to get a good look at his face. The cowl he wore was part of a long cloak he wore. He took large gulps from his ale. Coraline followed suit and took one from hers. It didn't taste like much. She turned her head back to the bard, listening to his song. It felt relaxing an much more comfortable. Someone near her tried to make conversation but she couldn't hear the words coming from their mouth. She tried to ask them to speak again but again nothing came from her lips. It became apparent that to her that all she could hear was actually the bard playing the music. As soon as he finished his song though, when she came to the realization, he looked at her dead in the eye and a large phantasm overshadowed him. His eyes changed color and the ghastly being lunged at her. She felt the cold embrace it gave as her body was thrown across the room.
Her eyes opened up and she took deep breaths. She felt like she hadn't slept for more then a few minutes. Coraline looked over at Eliya, she too was still asleep, or, at least looked like it. Her heart raced and she was terrified. She thought that at least she could find solace in her own dreams. But it seems that even her mind has been corrupt. Even though Eliya was near her, Coraline felt truly alone. She curled back into a ball, laying in the fetal position, and started to cry quietly to herself. Her chest heaved as she tried to hold back the tears. Though a stream still fell from her clenched eyelids. ''l just want to go home...'' she whispered to herself. ''l want my daddy.'' She laid there for what seemed like another hour crying but it was just a few minutes until she cried herself to sleep.
This time her dream wasn't was vague. She knew where she was. She was at home, well her parent's house. Coraline was sitting on the porch, the sound of the river that circled The Imperial City rang in her ears. She could smell the water and even the sand. A small breeze curled around her, making her silver locks of hair brush up against her face. Inside Coraline could hear her mother making dinner and her father playing with her younger sibling. The family's dog was running around the yard and she could see it's tail above the garden her father kept. She thought to herself that he was looking for any rats or rabbits and left him be. Looking up to the sun, Coraline started to think of where she was. A sad realization dawned on her as she knew that she was dreaming. Her eyes started to peer around and see that this is the house she remembers and not what it could be. She hadn't been home in years and her brother would have gotten older and her father's garden might have changed. Even the smell of the food her mother was cooking was the last meal she remembers eating at home. It was a large serving of venison, with a baked potato and a some cabbage with onion and carrots. She brought her knees to her chest while she sat there. Resting her forehead on her knees she closed her eyes and tried to picture that this was real and that she was really home.
But when she opened her eyes again, she was laying on cold stone floor in some dungeon that was somewhere underground. Her head hurt and her jaw felt like it was numb. Sitting up she started to massage her jaw as she moved it around in it's socket to hopefully get the blood flowing back. Using her hand to run it through her hair, her heart started to race. ''What in Oblivion is this!'' she cried out. In her hands, her hair had gotten significantly longer. Coraline somehow knew that she had been asleep longer then a few hours. ''Eliya... how long have l been out!'' she question the other elf, who seemed like time had no effect on here in this place.

Eliya ~ Eliya jerked awake, her heart pounding. She had fallen asleep against the wall, her head leaning in such a way that now gave way to a stiff neck. She ignored it, swiftly turning her attention to Coraline, who was shrieking. The assassin's green eyes blinked away the lingering remnants of sleep, and she was immediately on her feet, short sword in hand. She assessed the situation. The room hadn't changed, the large rock still hovered innocently, spinning slowly on its axis. The room appeared exactly as it had before. Eliya couldn't say the same however, for Coraline. Normally one to guard her expressions, the reheaded elf's jaw hung slack, her entire face an expression of shock as she stared at the other elf. The other female's hair had grown over half a foot, and she appeared to have aged several years. Without delay Eliya's free hand shot up to touch her own hair. It was the same length.
Cautiously Eliya appraised the other woman. She stepped closer and stared into the other elf's angular face. She still hadn't replied. Her empty hand reached out to gently touch the locks of hair. Her touch was brief, just to reassure herself it wasn't an illusion. Coraline Atraea, Altmer Child, Dark Brotherhood Assassin, Mage, & Necromancer; she had aged. Several years by the looks of it. Eliya knew that concern was evident on her face but at the moment she didn't care.
How had this happend? At the thought, her gaze shot suspiciously to the floating stone. She'd bet some serious septims that that thing had something to do with what had transpired. They needed to move away from this room, and get away from this place. Eliya guessed they had been asleep for a few hours, but given the lack of daylight, it was difficult to tell for sure. Fortunately both their mana reserves were now full. They needed to escape this place soon, the mage assassin got the impression if they didn't do so, they might never leave. "How do you feel?" She said this carefully, still gazing intently at the other woman as she awaited a reply.

The older elf, well, the other elf, Coraline wasn't entirely sure that she was older now. She felt the same mentally but as she was holding her hair, she could feel the strands of hair slowly move from between her fingers. She could actually feel the hair grow. Like when people mockingly joke about watching paint dry to pass hours, she could feel it grow within seconds. As if her whole body had been cursed or this whole place had some kind of wretched spell cast upon it but some how Eliya seemed immune to it. Wanting to yank out her own hair in her scared hysteria. Gripping it tightly within her fingers, she started to pull towards the ground and could feel single strands start to be yanked out of her scalp. She was sobbing loudly and tears streamed down her cheeks as she tried to reconcile what was happening to her. Eliya seemed to be be no help as she asked the most ridiculous question to her.
''Am l okay!'' she said as her arms dropped to her sides. She stood there dumbfounded as she stared at Eliya trying to think if it was a serious question. ''Just.... just look...'' she tried to speak but every other word seemed to be filled with her chest trembling for air. She felt exasperated and thought that Eliya was asking a stupid question. ''Just look at ME!'' she screamed. ''How would you feel if you woke up after a quick nap and not to be able to recognize yourself!'' To her this isn't fair. The fact that she was aging rapidly gave her time window to leave this place even smaller and is making her wanting to just blow down the walls till she found the exit. Though she knew that wouldn't be likely. It would take an intense amount of magicka and concentration to make holes through these walls big enough to fit the both of them.
She mustered her calm, trying to but on a facade for Eliya so she wouldn't worry about her. She pulled out her dagger and started to cut off her hair till it was even shorter then it was when she started this journey. The knife cut off her silver locks, and she felt it would have been better if she didn't cut it herself. But it was too late for that. With her hair very tomboyish, short bangs and the hair on the back of her head didn't even reach her back, she sheathed her knife again. ''l'm fine. Let's just go.'' she said as she slipped her ring of night-eye back on. The hall she was going to take turned into a blue haze.
Coraline took the lead, not wanting to waste time and didn't want it to be up for debate. Pulling out her sword, she held the hilt tightly and her knuckles were turning white as she walked down the halls and she could hear something sliver further down. She didn't know what it was but with her rage building up she felt like nothing could scare her at this moment. She already had figured out her own morality and how quick she could die. But at this moment she wasn't afraid of anything right now. With adrenaline and rage fueling her she took twice the stride she would normally in an unknown environment. The slivering started to annoy her and her curiosity started to peak. Her feet started to carry her in a jog. But when she turned a corner she could see another large mushroom. This time instead of having a red cap like the other, it had a faint green and it was significantly smaller then it's previous look. It started to drag it's legs across the ground towards her. Though instead of fleeing she bull rushed it, holding it blade with both hands.
It shot out it's long branch arms, trying to use them to coil around her sword. But instead of hesitating and letting it, she twisted her blade and used it to sever it's arms. She used the momentum she built up with that swing to twist her body, making a whirlwind effect for her attack. The beast was cut in half. Though it was much smaller then the one they fought earlier, she felt like she had bested one of the creatures that lingered in these halls. She used her dress to clean her sword before looking back to see if Eliya was behind her still.

Eliya ~ The redhead blinked at Coraline's screech. Lips pressed together as Eliya recovered her composure. It was all she could do not take the back of her hand and smack the other elf across the face. For a second she actually considered it, but decided it wouldn't help. "Are. You. Hurt." She spoke the words deliberately to make it clear things could be much worse. Apparently whatever was aging Coraline wasn't causing her physical pain, emotional however was another story. Eliya didn't know if the other elf was still aging, but it made quite a bit of sense to get away from the room as soon as possible to be on the safe side. She said nothing more, watching in silence as Coraline chopped off her hair. Eliya had always enjoyed her long red locks, but she definitely understood the other woman's actions.
The elf followed the other out of the blue hued room, slipping back on her own ring of night eye to compensate for the darkness they were returning to. Coraline had calmed down and immediately took the lead, something which Eliya didn't mind for the time being. She matched the other elf's long quick strides; it was evident they had both spent enough time in the daedric realm, and both of them couldn't wait to escape. As they quickly walked, Eliya's delicate ears picked up a slithering sound ahead. Now what was Meridia going to throw at them? A fellow elf, Eliya had to assume Coraline's sensitive ears had picked up the sound as well. The only indication of this however, was a slight speed up in the other woman's gait.
They turned a corner and ahead of them was another mushroom tentacled creature, though this one was a different color and significantly smaller in stature. Eliya twirled her daggers in each hand, they could defeat this one. As the creature began moving towards them, Coraline moved more quickly than Eliya, rushing forward to attack. In a matter of seconds, the creature was dead. It would be an understatement for the Altmer to say she wasn't impressed. But then again, Coraline was full of surprises. She was after all a fellow assassin. She had some nice knife skills. The sudden surge of confidence was perhaps what startled Eliya the most. "Nice work."

ooooooooɔɵɾɐℓɩɳэɱɩɾɩэʌʈɾɐэɳɐ- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ♥♥♥ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Coraline twisted her on her heels and turned to see down the hallway, listening to Eliya's remark on her handiwork. She didn't reply fore her adrenaline was rushing and her heart pounded within her rib cage and she could swear she could feel it slam against her bones. With the potent natural chemical surging through her blood vessels, she took it upon herself to continue down the path. Her ears picked up Eliya following behind her. She wasn't too worried about the older lady falling too far behind. She felt like just running. Instead she kept at a brisk pace. Three long opened gaps followed parallel to the walls one in the middle of the corridor and the others on either side of the walls. Curious to see what it was, she leaned down and put her fingers inside the chasm. Though her fingers felt nothing but cobwebs and cold, rusting metal. Ignoring the blatant eminent trap, Coraline continued to lead. Not noticing a small trigger on the floor, her foot again clicked and activated a trap. When activated a long saw blade, large enough to cut either woman in half started to spin rapidly and slide at them with incredible haste. On the walls blades jutted out on either side of the room, one in front of them and the other behind, made their way towards their figures.
With her sword in her hand, Coraline knew there was no easy way to escape this trap and that her weapon would ultimately be futile against these weapons. Gripping the hilt tightly she sprung into a quick dash towards the end of the hall. Her feet carried her with haste that would rival that of her horse. When the blade got near her though instead of trying to leap above it and try to clear it, she darted to the side and tucked her body, waiting for the two blades nearest her to pass. When they did she stood up and looked back to see them spin idly at the ends of their tracks just before starting to spring back towards them. She still had to clear forty feet till she could make the first turn. Seeing that Eliya too was worried that their life hung in their lack of time and how quickly they could move, they silently agreed to start running and get to the end of this path without a moments pause. As they ran both of them could hear the metal slide across the tracks catching up on them. Ducking underneath the first blade they continued to run, hairs on the top of their head being sliced off with a barber's precision. The two girls ran with such ferocity that it would take them slamming into the wall with their palms as their brace to stop them.
Taking a moment to catch their breath Coraline was the one to speak first. ''That was close.'' she said as she gasped for air, her lungs burning and her throat felt hoarse. Continuing down the path the air that filled them felt moist and even cold. As if someone was sucking the warmth from the room. Taking another turn, the hall opened into a small room with a fireplace to their left. Two small chairs with ottoman and a desk between them faced the fire, a small flame still cracked within the pit. Skeletons rested idly in them, the heads tilted and cobwebs littered the corpse. A small dinner table with four chairs was behind them, two chairs at the head of the narrow wood and one of either side. Silver plates and cups filled with molded and rotten food that had a rancid yet appeal odor to them was half eaten. A dust lingered table cloth draped down the sides of the cracked wood table. At the end of the table, which could only be presumed to be the head of the table with a more luxurious chair, too had a dead man toppled over onto the table. In his hands a half eaten turkey leg and in the other a goblet of red wine which smelled more like vinegar. Bits of meat still half chewed between his teeth. ''Coraline, l think we should just continue. This place has an uneasy feel to it.'' Both of them got the sense that they should move out of this room and continue or they too would be trapped underneath some sort of spell. Coraline agreed. ''It does. l can sense some kind of curse in this room. Best not touch anything.''
Walking past the skeletons, out of the corner of their eyes they would have sworn they saw the heads turn to them. But nothing aside from speculations happened. When they left the room they could hear music and laughter behind them. People telling jokes and toasting their goblets but when they looked back it was the same grisly scene. An eerie chill ran down their backs as another silent agreement to just move on lead them to walking away from the banter. Once away from the ghastly party, the hallways became narrow and littered with cobwebs. At the end of the hallway an old wooden double door laid sealed. Reaching out to open it, Coraline's hand tugged the circular nobs. It opened with a little help of force. When she opened it a small colony of small spiders ran up her arm. Using a small flame to roast them, she could hear their bodies pop and burst with the flames. Her arm remained unscathed by her own magicka. Though when she finished clearing them off of her, she could hear a large beast snarl and the sound of pincers snap. The blue hues of the room showed that there was even more cobwebs that covered every square inch of the room. A dead body sat upright with it's head tilted up and mouth open, a dark sword, rusted with age still in the hands too had cobweb making it stand perpetually in that stance. Taking a step forward the ladies could see a large spider, it's legs large enough to easily crush them held the monstrosity that was a queen spider. Thick poisonous saliva ran down it's pincers as it moved in place uneasy that they were crossing into her domain.
Her legs stomped in an attempt to mark her territory and her abdomen raised in the air to show how large she was. Coraline could hear Eliya's sword being drawn. Both women were slowly retreating when Eliya spoke up ''l think we should let this one go.'' Nodding at her, Coraline's voice sounded timid ''Yeah. Pick your battles right?'' But when they got to the archway where the door was, they heard it slam behind them. A small heard of spiders, smaller in comparison to the queen though still large enough to take down a horse, started to glide down on their webs from the roof and from behind large piles of defiled corpses covered in webbings. ''We've been so hungry for a long time...'' said the larger spider. ''And l've got a lot of young to feed. You'll be a nice meal....'' The feeling of goosebumps made shivers down their spins as she counted easily over twenty spiders aside from the queen of the hive.
''Feeding time!'' she snarled! And with her words the spiderlings ran after them. Pulling out her dagger, Coraline held it with the blade facing downwards in her left hand. Eliya threw one of her small knives, catching itself in the husk of the first spider. Rushing towards them, Coraline use her sword to catch the pincers of the first spider and her dagger to stab in it's carapace. Falling down dead, she yanked out her blade and ducked underneath one of the spiders that leaped at her. Getting up quickly, she cut the hind legs off with a quick swipe. When she pulled her sword upwards, about to strike down on the beast another tackled her to the stone floor. Fighting the keep the pincers off of her, she felt the body on her go limp. Pushing it off of her a small blade flickered in the blue hue. She looked over to see Eliya fight off a small horde herself. Turning back to the small pack after her, she stabbed down with her dagger, killing one of them and didn't bother to pick up her small blade. Using her sword to cut the a fine line straight through the many eyes of the spider she again attacked another, it's feet making the blow glance off of it. Kicking it upwards towards her sword she felt the carapace be cut with her sword. Spinning she cut another in mid air. Taking the dagger out of the dead spider next to her, she threw it as hard as she could towards Eliya. The dagger landed in one of the spiders that was creeping up on her. Though there wasn't time for a victory chant. Instead Coraline was again attacked from behind. The spider kicked her to the ground. Rolling to her back quickly, she put the base of her palms together and curled her fingers tightly still agape. Flames expelled from her hands, curdling the spider as they engulfed it.
Taking her sword Coraline was on her feet again, using her left hand to expel fire from her palm and her right to split open the cephalothorax of a spider that thought it could get near her. Holding her sword with both hands she started to run towards the queen. Cutting down a spiders as they got near her. Eliya got the idea and followed, casting a fireball and having it knock back one of the spiders into another, both of them withering in the flames. At the feet, the started to try to hack at the legs though their swords just chipped and cracked the hard exoskeleton when they hit, though for as large as it was the spider was incredibly mobile. The girls danced around the legs as it tried to squash them with her enormous legs. Finally, after a few attempts Eliya was able to break off one of the legs. The spider fell to the ground, and before it could rise again, Coraline climbed on top of it. Facing her sword upside down, she stuck her sword between the queen's waist. It collapsed under it's own immense weight and Eliya drove her sword between the pincers, giving the deathblow. The spider collapsed and the women looked to see the underlings slowly backing away from them.
Eliya pointed to the side of the room to a door, where both girls ran towards. Though getting there wasn't easy. A few spiders felt a blood feud to the girls for killing it's mother and still attacked. Fending themselves off, they ran to the door and slammed it shut behind them, feeling bodies leaping against it in an attempt to break it open. Running as quickly as their tiring bodies would take them, the girls made it to another fork. This time it was instead of going left, Coraline felt a strong pull to head right. Coraline fell against the wall with a cold sweat and feverish symptoms. ''Are you okay?'' Eliya asked. ''Yeah... l'll be fine. Lets... lets just keep moving.'' she said as she used the wall for support. Venom coursed through her veins and was slowly killing her. She didn't feel the bite till now, and wished Eliya had a potion for this. Collapsing to her knees, Coraline held herself up with her hands. Her body fought against the poison by vomiting anything that was in her system. When she was dry heaving, Coraline got up and wiped her mouth with her glove, making sure to remember to burn it when she had the first chance to.
Continuing down the path, they made their way to another open room that had a hovering blue crystal hovering in it. Coraline fell against a wall again and started to shiver though some kind of aura emanated off the crystal, making her start to feel as if she were recovering. In a few hours, both girls stood up feeling healthier than before. Using her sword to point, she directed Eliya down another path that lead out of this room after she shed her head of the excess hair that had grown, and hid her panic from Eliya though Coraline felt as if she didn't do too well.
The next room they got too gave them the feeling they were getting close to the end. A small light came from the room, though they had the uneasy feeling that it wasn't natural light. The light didn't come from cracks in the ceiling but the ceiling itself! As if the ceiling was a light source. The instinctively took off their rings and looked around the room. The room was filled with plants. Vines went from tree to tree, they could hear small wildlife and even a small trickle of water in the background. It seemed like a peaceful place to sit and write ones daily script for the guild. A small bushed shuffled and both girls got on the defense. Feeling rejuvenated from their rest they watched the bush intently. Soon a large abomination that looked like it was made of vines and shrubby came into view. Red cap mushrooms stood at the top of it's head and large leafs dangled from it's body. A small decomposed human body laid within it's confines. Soon another figure came into view and it looked more human like then the prior creature. Though it still looked as if it's body were made of vines. Both of the creatures looked at the girls and a few petite human like faeries came out from behind them. One of the smaller one rested on Coraline's shoulder and bit her ear. Pushing the small thing away from her, she saw it fly away into the bushes and gather more, only a few though seemed vicious in numbers. Both girls put forward their hands and flames flew out, deciding to be the first to attack and to take anything in this place as hostile. The fire consumed the tree like abomination and it started to run towards them. But as soon as it was within a few feet of them, a trap sprung into action. A large pillar fell on it, crashing down on the dirt floor making it's body squash like a bug. The humanoid one vanished from view and the faeries too left the scene. Rushing through the room with caution, the two girls seemed to make it through with almost ease.
Again in the halls, they followed them till they found some kind of chasm. It was large bridge. As if it connected on part of the maze to another and each side was a castle. Around them was an endless looking fall that would mean their demise if they were too take a careless step. As they started down the long bridge, they noticed something moving at the other end and it jumped onto the bridge from the other side. When it landed, it looked like a huge, and by huge it really looked like a Minotaur that stood twenty-five tall and it wielded a large axe made of what looked like it was crafted from bone of something huge. The beast snarled at them and started to charge. It's large feet carried it a large distance and it cracked the stone floor. The two girls ran at it but instead of going for an attack ducked underneath it's legs towards the exit. But once they got what would be an opened archway, was a locked door. Taking a closer look at the beast, they noticed a pair of keys at the end of the axe. ''They never make these things easy!'' Eliya yelled as she lifted one of the large stone slabs on the ground and hurled it at the beast. Coraline ran after him, waiting for the slab to hit him. As it did it was momentarily stunned giving her the chance to tap her fingers against the beast. It fell backwards with her paralytic spell going into effect. Wasting no time she ripped the keys from it's hammer and started to run back to the door. But when she was almost free from it's reach, his leg kicked her causing her to fly against the stone wall that rested on the bridge.
Her body broke against the wall. Slamming hard on the floor though she didn't feel anything. As soon as her body hit the wall everything went black. And endless void of nothing and no conscious though. And woke up a few hours later in the care of Eliya safely away from the beast. Her everything hurt. Breathing caused her lungs the press against her broken ribs, her skull felt like it was in pieces and her arms and legs felt shattered. And everything was shattered. For as much beatings she has taken in the past this would easily take the trophy as her worse. She tried to speak but her jaw was still dislocated, teeth missing she used her tongue to try to dull the pain. Tears ran down her cheeks as she felt her garments covered in blood. A quick healing spell started to dull the pain, though that was all it did. It didn't help her regain her crumbled bones, that would take a lot more time. Eliya looked over. ''You're still alive.'' but when Coraline didn't reply Eliya leaned over. ''Oh... your jaw is dislocated. Here... this is going to hurt.'' she placed her hands on either side of her face. ''One... two.'' and when she said two, popped it back into place. She did the same for her left arm and her knee. It took a little while till Coraline was able to sit up talk. ''How long was l out?'' was the first thing she asked. ''About seven hours. l thought you were dead.'' Coraline had the distinct feeling that Eliya wouldn't have been to broken up if she had been. ''How did we get out of there?''
''l used another paralytic spell on it, and it fell off the end. Though it was starting to climb over the wall when l got the door open.'' By the time Eliya spoke of her time alone, which was quite eventful. She had killed another one of the mushrooms and even a large boar that had been wearing armor. It's corpse laid to their side and a small fire roasted. It's cooked meat made Coraline's mouth water. She ate, as Eliya now remained silent waiting to leave this place. ''We must be getting near the end.'' she said as they were packing up their things, Coraline took the keys to the door and kept them in her pouch. She took a look at her sword. There wasn't much left of it. It was is shards now and only a small bit of the blade still connected to the hilt. It was about the size of a small dagger in length but thankfully still sharp. Holding onto it, the two left the room and continued down the path.
The path they took was almost pitch black, though thankfully their rings gave them some vision, though it seemed to only give off enough to let them see as far as they could extend their hands but their feet were still in the darkness. Both women walked down cautiously, feeling that this hallway had some sort of curse upon it to make whomever traveled this path would have to walk purely on faith. Sliding her feet on the ground, Eliya took the more cautious route while Coraline instead took smaller strides to make sure she didn't activate any more traps. Though as they walked down this hall for two or three minutes, Coraline's foot didn't catch the stone slabs but instead air. It dipped suddenly down, so suddenly that Coraline had not a moment to think about stopping herself before she found herself falling down a very deep well. Down, down, down. Coraline tumbled down and her frail body bounced off the hard stone base, if she could see anything right now her entire vision would have gone completely black though it already was.
When she regained consciousness, she could hear Eliya's voice calling out to her, screaming for the girl to see if she were okay. Calling back out to her, Coraline could feel her body feel shattered like a porcelain bowl that fell off the table. ''l'm... l'm still alive.'' she replied as she could feel her head laying in a pool of her own blood. She felt a drying stream of it falling from her forehead, nose and mouth. Reaching up to her ear she felt it too damp. She tried to sit up and when she was finally able to she felt her back snap and rib fall back into their proper places. ''How far down is it? l could try to come down.'' Coraline shook her head in protest. ''No.'' was what she said as she was holding her side. ''No? What to you mean no? Coraline you're not making any sense.'' The girl could hear frustration in Eliya's voice. The kind of spite that gave her a reason to just lay down and give up. Coraline was tired. Tired of walk. Tired of running and tired to fighting for her life. This place had finally broken her down. She wanted to give up. Just lay down in the hole she fallen in and let time take her into the sweet abyss of death. She wanted to meet this mysterious stranger she had heard so much about, shake his hand and say ''Hello.'' It would be such a sweet release after this hell of a place. It was no wonder Meridia had sent the girl to this prison. It was an inescapable place meant to only torture you're psyche till it was able to break you down in tears, giving up all hope. Coraline thought back to it to the skeletons in the room their corpses lingering around the tables comfortably. She wondered if she had made he right choice to continue when she had the choice to die in a comfortable environment. Even the forest area seemed better then this. The creatures didn't attack them and when she attacked they retreated, well mostly. It wasn't until the first abomination was killed that they actually left.
''Don't save me.'' she said just loud enough for Eliya to hear. There seemed to be a small laughter in the background that only Coraline could hear that taunted her. As if Meridia herself was watching their progress through her endless loop of lefts, rights and horrific creatures. Reaching down, she could feel her shinbone sticking out of her skin. ''What in Oblivion did you say?'' The girl started to tremble as she could feel the numbing sensation leave her body. ''Don't save me!'' she yelled once as she started to try to fix her body with her own hands. Pushing the bones back into place. ''Don't save me! Because l don't care!'' she was scream as loud as her lungs would allow her. Eliya stood quietly for a moment. ''Stop being a little brat! Coraline you're acting like a child. When you fall, you get back up. Stop this nonsense right now and get up here. We're so close you cannot give up when the door is probably just over the next turn!''
''How do you know that? Do you see the exit?! We've been walking for probably an entire day now and we have seen no hint of an exit! This place doesn't end it just keeps going till it kills us!'' Though Eliya wasn't listening to her words. She had enough of the girl's excuses. ''We'll find a way out of here. Just get out of there.'' she said calmly as she could, though her blood was burning underneath her skin. She felt agitated and wanted to just backhand the girl till her teeth fell out and then hit her again. They both sat or stood in Eliya's case for some time. Neither of them said a word to each other and let the other person calm down. Unfortunately the girls were out of reach for a spell for that. They started to converse about how far her fall was and how best to get her out of there.
''How about telekinesis?'' Eliya finally asked. Coraline hadn't thought about it. She didn't know if you could use that spell on a living thing. ''Are you able to use that to lift me?'' Again they discussed on how the spell would work. And they came up with the solution that instead of trying, since Eliya could probably end up tearing off Coraline's limbs or even worse ripping out her intestines, Eliya would instead use some kind of large object as a base and use her spell on that. Coraline would hold on to it. And so, after a few attempts, the pair managed to mangle one of the slabs out of the wall so Coraline could hold onto. Taking hold onto it like she was holding her self up on a ledge, the rock turned and made her have to latch on or she would fall a few feet in the air. It wouldn't have been a fatal fall, but it would have least made it quite uncomfortable. Again they tried and it happened the same way. Taking hold if it on both sides, with the slag just above her head, if it were to fall it would mean certain death. Coraline sealed her eyes shut and hoped that Eliya wouldn't take vengeance on her or have her magicka wane. Though when she reached the top of the enclave Eliya had her dangling in place for a second, watching the little girl squirm in fear due to her lack of courage it came to heights. After she put Coraline down safely on the other side of the pit, She found a small ledge that went along side of it that safely got her to where they could continue down the path.
Back into the corridors, the torches were now lit, making an easy walk. They walked for another twenty minutes, for what it seemed like hours, taking turns and back tracking when they hit dead ends and Coraline healing herself to make her limp completely go away. Soon they were at a room that held a throne in the center facing them. A large orc sat in the chair. Even in his chair he was larger than either of the girls. His large slab ax resting on the ground with the handle up in the air, his greenish skin held it tightly as he looked at the pair. ''If you can answer my riddles... l'll let you pass. If you get one wrong, l'll kill you and use your skulls to decorate my room.'' A seemingly easy test, Coraline agreed a better alternative then to fight him. ''l agree to your test, Orc.''
He smiled at the pair of women in front of him. ''I am the beginning of the end, and the end of time and space. I am essential to creation, and I surround every place. What am I?'' Thinking for a second, Coraline went to her studies which did little to prepare for these occasions. Actually they didn't cover riddles. Her first guess would be something to do with death. Though death isn't essential for creation. And it didn't really fit that criteria but it could loosely be in the others. ''The Letter E.'' Eliya spoke. He smiled at her. ''Very good, Mer. Cunning you are. Now to the second of the three: Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the Imperial language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.''
This one dumbfounded both of them. He didn't say any words that ended with gry except for the first two examples. Thinking back on all the words she could remember and recite, Coraline couldn't think of any others. Then it dawned on her. ''It's language. Isn't it?'' Eliya shot Coraline a glance that was both shocked at her answer and questioning whether or not they would have to fight, but the large orc chuckled to himself and slammed his ax down on the floor making it echo throughout the room. ''Yes yes little Mer. Language is correct. Not many people get that one. Well now, this is odd by now l stand up, and kill you. But it seems that you get to hear your final riddle. Are you ready to hear it?'' Coraline nodded. ''I turn polar bears white and I will make you cry. I make guys have to pee and girls comb their hair. I make royaltylook stupid and normal people look like royalty. I turn pancakes brown and make your champane bubble. If you sqeeze me, I'll pop. If you look at me, you'll pop. Can you guess the riddle?'' He looked at the two, who seemed utterly at a lose for any sort of comprehension. ''Take your time. l'm not going anywhere and l shall bring you no harm unless you cannot answer this. So take a seat if you must.'' Coraline sheathed her blade, Eliya was not so trust worthy for she held her sword just in case. The two thought on this for some time. At least an five must have passed by in their thoughts and collaborating talk. But neither of them could come up with an answer. Nothing seemed to fit except time. But still that would be too simple for something like this. Though riddles are supposed to make you feel stupid for the answers. Eliya couldn't think of anything more obvious. But Coraline asked him to repeat it again. So he did. And when he did she heard it. She heard the key part of the riddle. She wanted to hit herself for feeling so dumb. It wasn't about the riddle but the question! ''No.'' she said aloud. ''The answer is: No.''
He looked at the two, and rested his ax on the chair and stood up. ''And l would have thought l could have bested you two with that one. The exit of this infernal trap is behind me. You may leave.'' And they took his invitation to do just that. With a renewed strength and vitality, the two girls started to run to it. And when they reached it, they were outside in Cyrodiil. It was the morning still. And it didn't even seem like anything had changed since the left. Coraline took a glance to see the place they had just left, but the large cave opening had completely vanished. Instead it was just a field of trees. Like everything they experienced wasn't real but a fabrication of their minds. Taking in the first air of the free world, Coraline smiled up at the sun, thinking of how much she missed it and would never think that she would ever see it again or the sound of birds chirping. The two girls then parted way, going back to their halls. It took them a little time to get back to them but eventually they both made it back safely.
((OOC: Sorry for the editing. But when l was reading over it l realized l had A LOT out of order. So l went back to correct this and add another segment that l had completely left out.))
