Pythagoras smiled at Nailiah, perhaps not all the 'good' azrein were idiots. "A mission? Not really, though you could say I was on a mission to explore the island. I'm a curious azrein by nature and wanted to travel. Besides that my mother traveled so I did hope I would run into her, however I did not" he said, a tinge of sadness in his voice. "Have you never traveled?" he asked drawing attention to her odd fixation on his life style. "It isn't too lonely though, I often like to be on my own to explore my own thoughts so traveling allows that too" he added. He honestly didn't like being around many azrein, he never really got along with them. Even of the evil azrein he rubbed others the wrong way so he stayed to himself.

She gave a bit of a nod. "That's quite a mission. I do hope you indeed succeed in both accounts." Nailiah had only known her mother for her foal life before she was taken away to be groomed and transformed into her herd alpha's first meaning she to be next in line to rule. Nailiah never wanted that, but you never argued with herd politics....until her pull to her chosen caused her to run. And Nailiah never looked back. She gave a brief smirk at his next question, "Indeed I did. I traveled when I was looking for my chosen and I even still travel now. It's such a strange wide world, but I still look for someone to share it with be it friends or that special someone. But everyone chooses their own path. I simply wish you luck on yours, Pythagoras." Her smile was genuine even if her mind was filled with intimate questions for him. Nailiah knew better. She then turned to the other mare. "What of you, Freezia? Have you ever traveled before?"

Was there something in the stallions look before he answered her question, or was she just imagining it? To think he had not met many others of their kind in his travels was understandable, but humans? They were all over the land. How could anyone not come in contact with them?

She listened as the mare spoke of their bonded, and could hear the love in her words. She felt the same way about her own bonded. As she listened to Pythagoras talk about his travels, it brought memories of her own travels with Rhia. When Nailiah posed her question, she was quick to answer.

"Oh, we are constantly traveling. I have not known my bonded to settle in one place for more than a handful of days. Mostly when her mate comes around, then they tend to stay in the same place for days on end, but as soon as he leaves, we are on the road again. She makes her way by singing and telling stories in towns and villages."

"So the life of the roaming bard mistress? Interesting. What does she get I wonder for the exchange of words in a fanciful manner..." Alistair commented bringing his attention back to the conversation for but a moment. "Unlike Nailiah, I haven't traveled at all. I have stayed home save for coming to live with Nai and Athari. That's the most I've done, but I was surrounded by humans growing up. You could say they were my servants." The stallion commented matter of factly and quite unashamed. His tail flicked behind him as he looked over to the white mare then back to the bright stallion. "I also wish you luck, Pythagoras. May you succeed in your endeavors." The stallion gave a brief nod and a snort before looking back over to the mare. "So, shall you stay here for a while then until your chosen gets back from romping with her mate?" His head tilted in a curious manner and yet there was a certain known smugness about him. Alistair wasn't perfect; he had grown up on the streets and then became a high born due to an accident. He was entitled to be an a** every now and then. He was lucky to have Nailiah to keep him in line however. Too many times he would have gotten into physical altercations if it wasn't for the sweet red head.

"Oh, she receives a place to sleep and food to eat, and I am accorded the same. I believe in some instances, she is given coinage in return for her services, but most often that is when we are not staying the night."

She wanted to know more about his time growing up with humans, but she didn't want to seem intrusive. Besides, the female, Nailiah might take her interest the wrong way and get upset. Free was not one to upset those she considered her friends, let alone those she didn't even know. Confrontation was not a situation she liked to find herself in.

When he had finished addressing the other stallion, and returned his attention to her, she replied, "I believe I shall. It seems peaceful enough here for my liking," and she lowered her head to sample a bit of the tall grass at her feet.

Pythagoras watched the three azrein, when the male spoke up about growing up around humans his interest peaked. His eyes narrowed at the male They were his servants? How could this be? he thought to himself. "Pardon me Alistair, but how could they be your servants?" he was quite interested all of a sudden in this male. At first he thought his encounter had only introduced him to a beautiful mare, but it seemed like he could get a little more information from these two.

Free too wondered at the stallions statement. Rhia was in no way her servant, and she had never come in contact with any Azrein who had humans as its servants. However, she was still learning about the interaction between Azrein and humans, so she was not one to judge the validity of what he said. She couldn't image Rhia being a servant to her, or Free serving Rhia. They treated each other as equals. And why would an Azrein choose to have human servants anyway? What need did one of her kind have for servants, especially human servants? She decided to hold her tongue and give him time to answer Pythagoras' question.

[[ I know I needed to reply. I was just moving down one at a time to reply. I'm also at work hence the slowness at the moment. Thanks for the reminder anyway. ]]

Alistair tilted his head a moment still trying to figure out why it was such a strange occurrence. "My previous master was a kind but very rich man. He picked me up off the streets and dressed me. He then assigned servants to me to do my every fancy from up keeping my stalls, to changing and cleaning my clothes, to grooming, to feeding me the finest foods, to anything else I wish. All I had to do was ask any of them." He gave a grunt flicking his tail idly. "They're still at the castle and I may call upon them anytime that I wish when I go to visit. Simple....have none of you ever had human servants?" He looked toward the two with a peculiar glance. He already knew Nailiah had never been doted on by a human so there was no need to question his partner.

Free was simply astounded for lack of a better word. The idea of having anyone other than Rhia doing anything for her was so totally unthinkable. And now that she thought about it, why would any Azrein wear human type clothing by choice? She thanked the gods that she had been found by Rhia and not the one Alistair had been found by.

"No! My Chosen is the only human that has ever done anything for me without being asked. And she does not serve me. What she does for me, she does out of love, as I do for her."

Alistair arched an eyebrow looking toward the capra as she became...excited. He ave a bit of a grunt tilting his head. "As it astounds me as to why a human would simply do something out of love. We both come from two different worlds, Freezia. You'd be surprised how many humans were actually pleased to serve the master's best friend..." His tone was slightly rough as he gave her a look that could freeze water. His tail flicked roughly behind him as Nailiah cleared her throat. The mare moved in slightly nudging Alistair on the neck in comfort. "Freezia, Alistair isn't from here and he's still learning to adjust to the bonded life. You should cut him a little slack." Her ears flick a little looking from both of them worridly.

"Forgive me Alistair," she said to the stallion, lowering her head. "I meant no disrespect. I too have only recently bonded with my Chosen, and I too am not from here. My home was to the west, in the Unthal Mountains. We don't see many humans there, and most of the Azrein there do not associate with them." She felt absolutely sick now. She had not wanted to make a bad impression.

Alistair's gaze softened a little as he felt embarrassed for his tone. True he wasn't apologizing for his views, but he could have been a little more forgiving. "I suppose not all is to blame on one. I forget there are those just as new to this lifestyle as myself....I did indeed come on a little passionately." He snorted looking over to Nailiah in a way to reassure the white mare. She gave a relieved smile leaning her head against his neck in affection. He was slowly learning and he was thankful to Nailiah and Dark for helping him. "I am still learning about the human cultures and status. It's all very new and perhaps in time there will be even more to learn. But it just takes one day at a time, as my partner tells me." He stared into her eyes gently before turning back to the capra. "No harm, Freezia as long as you feel better."

"Oh," said Free, "I do feel better now, thank you." She was so glad that he hadn't been insulted or angered by her comments. The other male had been very quiet during this exchange, so Free decided to draw him into a conversation. "Pythagoras, you mentioned you had hoped to meet your mother in your travels. Where exactly do you come from, and where have you traveled to on the island? Have you visited the Unthal Mountains?" She was looking for any information on other Capra like herself that he might have met in his travels.
