Grin watched as Anga tried out his moves on the poor tree. It took all his self control to not laugh at the darker lion's attempt to seduce the trunk, but once Anga began to laugh he joined in as well. "I wouldn't go in for the kill so quickly. You might end up losing an eye to an angry paw."
He hoisted himself up onto his feet as the conclusion was reached that something living would need to be acquired. He scanned the horizon line and turned slowly, tail swishing from side to side to keep the flies away. "Ah..."
He walked forward just a bit, squinting against the bright sun. That was either a mirage or...no. Not a mirage. "I think we'll have some success over there," Grin said as he gestured with a paw in the direction of the massive herd of wildebeest.

Anga followed Grin's paw. His eyes focused on a bunch of wildebeest grazing in the sun.
"Wildebeest?!" He exclaimed. His face distorted into a look of disgust. Turning to confront Grin, Anga choked, "Those things smell nastier than a frog fart." He stuck his tongue out for added effect. "There's got to be something better than that..." Anga padded into the high grass. "Come on, Grin. Lets go rustle up some ladies." As he continued to dive deeper into the savanna, his tail bobbed along, popping up above the grass.

Grinsen watched as Anga bounded off into the tall grass, the blue and black tail bobbing above the swaying blades the only indication of where his companion had gone. "I thought we established there's no ladies in the area!" he called out as he bounded after Anga. The other lion sure seemed to have lots of energy now, didn't he?
He managed to catch up with the darker loin and pulled up short in front of him to get him to stop. "Wildebeest will be a better way to practice. Plus we can get a meal after the fact. Then you can go hunt down some ladies to hone your skills."

Anga halted in front of Grin. At the mention of food, his stomach began to protest. He looked down at his belly and frowned. Food sounded like an excellent idea... His head tilted left and right as he weighed his options. He could spend hours trying to find a lady in a practically barren land OR~ practice some moves on a fart bucket and eat it after they were done playing. Wait a minute, why would he want to eat something that smelled bad? What ever, meat was meat and at least it didn't smell when it was in his belly.
"All right, Grin." He perked his head up and held his paw out in a 'go ahead' gesture. "You lead the way."

Grin waited for Anga to decide if dinner and a show would be worth his time. Or rather, a show and then dinner. The other lion was larger than Grin so taking down a wildebeest together would be a fairly simple task. Grin hadn't had fresh wildebeest in ages and, honestly, he suggested the practice more for the meal than helping out the other lion. But Anga didn't need to know that.
"Great," he said as Anga made up his mind and set off back the way they had come, trotting lightly to close the distance between them and their meal slash target practice. "All right. Now obviously a wildebeest is not a lovely lady lion, but you've just got to use some imagination. Pretend the horns are teeth. Stay away from them. And those ugly long faces are fluffy, round, gorgeous girls looking at you with adoring eyes. All will go well."

Anga trotted in pace with Grin. At the mention of pretending wildebeest were foxy ladies, Anga did a snort laugh. "Oh, yeah~ I bet you've had all the fiii~ne butt monkey beast chasin' after your lush mane." Anga caressed his own mane and batted his eyes. "Grin, you fine piece of man meat. Tech me your ways." Anga sashayed forward.

Grin laughed as Anga fluffed his mane. "Yes, I'm quite a hit around the watering hole. The wildebeest and lionesses alike can't keep their eyes off me." Truth be told, of course, he hadn't had this much contact with another living thing for quite some time. Lionesses usually wouldn't remain around for long and any prey animal that wasn't too sick or young to flee knew better than to hang around a lion.
"When you approach your target, keep your head high and kind of look down your nose at it," he advised. "Make them feel small and insignificant first. That way when you turn on your charm you'll seem even more attractive. Once you're close enough, you should lean in and say with a little growl in your voice, 'Hey baby', or something to that effect."

Humm... head high and eyes down. Sounds weird to Anga, but whatever. It's not like anything else ever worked. So, lets give it a try. He dashed forward a bit to find some prey to train on. His eyes fell on wildebeest that was laying down. By the way the herd was avoiding it, it was probably sick. Under any other circumstances, he'd it eat. Though, the closer he got to it, the smellier it got. So.., Maybe not...
He padded up to the smelly thing and tried to use Grin's technique. However, the thing smelled so badly that when he went to look down his nose, he had to cross his eyes and wrinkle his muzzle in disgust. Still, he didn't want to be a quitter so he uttered through a couple gags, "Hey baby...-gags- hey....baby...."

Grin watched with amusement as Anga jumped over to one of the wildebeest that was laying down. The thing didn't put up much of a fight as the large lion approached it, merely lifting its head to stare at Anga. Grin stifled a laugh at Anga's tactics and shook his head slightly.
"Not bad! Now lean in a little closer and whisper sweet nothings to it," he encouraged, somehow keeping the laughter out of his voice. The wildebeest didn't look terribly impressed by Anga and began to swish its tail in annoyance. Other than that, though, it didn't move.

What did he say? Whisper sweet nothings? What the hell... There's nothing on earth that would get him close to that damn thing. It smelled like crap and it looked like the back side of a wart. Anga shivered at the thought. His senses were being over loaded. Damn it. He was going to do it. He couldn't believe it, but he was. Gaaa~ it wasn't worth it.
He inched a bit closer and placed a paw on the side of its face to try to pull it closer. The wildebeest did it like that, not one bit. In two seconds its smelly hide bolted up and smacked Anga in the face as it trotted away.
"Pain in the a**!" Anga turned to Grin, death in his eyes. "You're nothing, but a pain in the a**!" He rushed away, back to the shade of his pathetic tree. At least it smelled nicer.

Grinsen waited as Anga did as he told him and just about fell over in laughter when the wildebeest smacked Anga in the face with its rump. He barely heard the other lion snap at him as he slapped his paw repeatedly on the ground, his whole body shaking with the force of his laughter. Oh...oh boy...that had been too good. Too easy! Oh dear...
He watched Anga run off and wiped a tear from his eye, still chuckling to himself. He picked himself up off the ground and headed off in the direction he had been heading before stumbling across the other lion, a little trot in his step. That had been exactly what he had needed.
