Dea nodded, she remembered the bed her husband used to have when they were kids, it was one she used to tease him about having rocks in it. She watched as he let Spike out and a soft giggle escaped her lips as she saw Spike make himself look presentable. She bent down and scooped him up into her arms, like she used to do.
"Hello, old friend, it has certainly been awhile since I have seen you. I have missed both of you so much, you have no idea. I have missed being snug in your arms, Kidd, with Eilam laying on the floor near our bed and Spike wherever he felt like it. I just wish we didn't need to be apart, it hurts so much when we are not together,"Dea admitted. She rested her head against Kidd's shoulder and let out a cough. Her cheeks were flushed and she did not look good at all.
Eilam had helped Jubilee get the wheelchair to the laundromat and he smiled at her question.
"Sure, you are more than welcome to call me 'brother,' Jubilee. Well, Dea can sometimes push herself around by pushing the wheels where she wants them to go. Sometimes Kidd would push her, I think he likes to be helpful when he can. I always suspected he goes out of his way because he feels so helpless when her sickness overtakes her. It is also because he truly loves her, she is his soul mate and he would be lost without her star to guide him,"Eilam answered. He opened the door with one of his hands and helped push the chair in with the other. He hoped Dea was alright because he didn't know what he would do without his friend either.

Kidd was glad Dea could laugh, even now. He definitely thought that was one of her charms.
Spike lounged around in her arms. At ease, he went, "Chuuu." While it felt warm and comfortable, he could tell something was off. He tried to narrow down what he was sensing. A sound? A smell?
Kidd would love to have more days like that, with them together as a family. He also liked the feel of her head on his shoulder, but when he saw her grow pale, he panicked. He clasped his hands together and chanted, "Please be okay, please be okay..." Then, he looked up and said, "Whoever you are, up there, I'll do anything! Anything. Just let her be okay. Please!"
"I see what you mean. Okay then, bro, here we go." All of a sudden, Jubilee and Eilam burst through the landromat's front doors. "We're here!"
When Kidd saw this, he thought whoever controlled time had weird plans for him. "Thank you so much! You two, come over here. Quick! She's not doing so good." He rolled his eyes and thought, That was the understatement of the century.

When they came inside, Eilam looked sick to his stomach when he saw what condition his trainer was in. He rushed forward as quickly as he could and reached up to place a hand on Dea's forehead.
"Kidd, she is burning up, we need to get her to the hospital right away. This is my fault, when she was sick a couple weeks ago, I didn't make her go to the doctor's. She had insisted she was fine and that it was just a cold. I should have known better, I should have seen it might be this illness,"Eilam berated himself. He looked to Spike and knew the Raichu had no idea what was going on, but probably suspected something was up.
"Spike, do you remember when Dea was so sick before? She's sick again, old friend, really sick,"Eilam explained.
"You guys worry too much, I will be fine,"Dea spoke up, trying to comfort them, her voice coming out in a soft whisper.

"Eilam, don't blame yourself. You're too young to be worrying about things like that. Besides, you and Jubilee managed to do all of this. That's definitely worth something."
Jubilee's ears perked up at the mention of her name. After thinking over what he had said, she nodded. Then, she looked over at Eilam and said, "You know, I agree. I don't think you can blame yourself for this. I mean, it's like the wind. You can hide behind a tree, so you won't feel it, but the wind's still there." She didn't think he had done anything wrong at all.
After Spike heard Eilam's explanation, he understood perfectly. He remembered the last time well. It was cold. He could see his breath. His feet got stuck in snow. He didn't like it. Most of all, though, he worried about her.
When Kidd heard what Dea whispered, he laughed. "Ahahaha!" It was half nervous - whispering definitely wasn't a good sign - and half earnest. "Did I ever tell you I love spirited girls? Anyway, I'm going to help you into this chair and we're heading straight to the hospital after that. How does that sound?" It was fortunate they were in the middle of the city where a hospital was nearby.

Eilam nodded softly to the two of them, guessing they were right, it wasn't like he knew this would happen to Dea. He gave Dea a look that clearly said she was going to the hospital, whether she liked it or not.
"I suppose you are right, I just can't help worrying about Dea when she gets like that. I am just glad I don't have to do this alone, since I am sure having four against one odds work more in our favor,"Eilam spoke.
"Alright, put me in the wheelchair and we can go to the hospital. I can see you guys are not going to be happy until I do,"Dea conceded. She kept Spike in her arms, hoping he wouldn't mind this.

"You're right." What Eilam said reminded Jubilee of the figure of speech about two heads being better than one. When she counted off on her fingers, she came to the conclusion that they should be two times as good as that. Without looking up from her hands, she said, "I like those odds."
Then, she followed Kidd and Dea. "I feel bad that all I can do is offer moral support now, but that's better than nothing, I guess. Still, it's kind of frustrating."
She wasn't used to seeing Kidd so quiet and serious. She expected him to say something eventually. All she heard was the sound of him breathing.
He stopped at the hospital and went into the emergency room with Dea. It was crowded. He wasn't surprised. It wasn't like hospitals ever had slow days. He looked around and didn't see anyone with severed limbs, so he thought that was a good sign. Now, he just hoped triage would work in Dea's favor.

Eilam nodded his head to Jubilee, knowing how frustrating it could be to only be there for moral support. He remembered how Dea used to tell him that sometimes that was one of the best things he could do.
"I know how you can feel helpless when something like this happens, Jubilee. I feel it too, but Dea usually tells me something when I am feeling like this. She tells me that sometimes moral support is one of the best things you can do, that it can lift spirits,"Eilam explained. He sat near Dea and Kidd when they got to the hospital, hoping it would not take them too long to be seen. He watched Dea place her head on her husband's shoulder and he smiled lightly.
"Honey, if you keep looking so serious, your face will stick like that,"Dea warned teasingly.

"I see. She knows a lot too. That must be where you get it from. I'll do my best to keep spirits high then."
Jubilee had never been to a hospital before. Not one for humans, anyway. Only Pokemon Centers. So, she wasn't prepared for what she would encounter. She saw all sorts of people. People even older than Kidd and Dea with wrinkled skin. Children even younger than her and Eilam who were coughing, sneezing, and wiping their noses with their hands.
This was information overload. She froze. She wondered if they were all in the same position as they were.
Kidd sat in the front of room, next to Dea, and filled out paperwork on a clipboard with one of those pens that are stuck with duct tape and string. He hated doing paperwork. Really, he hated hospitals in general. He thought they were terrifying places and if this was the last time he ever had to go to one, he would be glad. Still, if it was her, it was worth it. Fear was nothing.
Dea's teasing broke his concentration. He looked up from the clipboard, at her, and smiled. "Is this better?"

Eilam looked over to Jubilee and could see she was taking in everything around her. He could see by the look of interest and confusion in her eyes that she had never been to a hospital like this. He remembered when he had first come to a human hospital with Dea and he had been amazed by everything he had seen too, even if he had been a Pokemon at the time and had people staring at him.
"It is certainly a lot to take in at once, if you have never been to a place like this, huh? I have been to a human hospital more times than I care to remember, so I know a lot about these kind of places. Oh and yes, Dea does know a lot, sometimes more than you could imagine,"Eilam admitted with a laugh.
"Yes, dear, that is much better to see that wonderful smile of your's. I know you are worried, but there isn't much we can do until we see the doctor. Why do I think we will be traveling together from now on?"Dea asked softly. She looked over to Jubilee and knew what she was thinking.
"Well, those people are here for a variety of reasons, Jubilee. Some of them are here because they had an asthma attack or a heart attack. Some are here because they are very sick. It just depends on the person,"Dea explained. Then she mentally kicked herself, forgetting that Jubilee didn't know she was psychic.

Jubilee said, "You can say that again." She had been referring to how overwhelming the hospital was. She didn't understand what exactly Eilam meant when he said Dea knew "...sometimes more than you could imagine." But she did laugh after he did, because she thought that looked funny.
She was surprised that Dea had answered her question before she even had a chance to ask it. Now, she saw what Eilam meant before. Maybe she was going to say that anyway and it was just a coincidence? Whatever the reason was, since she was the curious sort, she was glad that she had gotten one so quickly. But now, she had even more questions. She had some idea of what a heart attack was, but what was asthma?
"Is it just me or does being here make you feel tired, even if you haven't done anything? Then again, I have had a busy day. Busier than usual, anyway." After that, she sat down and sighed in relief. "Feels so good."
"That's great. I'll do it more often then." Kidd couldn't help, but smile then. He thought Dea's reaction was adorable. "And that's because you're smart. I'll have my eyes..." He pointed to his eyes with his free hand. "...on you like a hawk. Like a Braviary or something."
When he finally finished the paperwork, had a victorious look on his face. "All done. Now, all we have to do is wait."

Eilam could see that Jubilee was confused when Dea answered what he was sure was unanswered questions and he wondered how long it would be before she realized that Dea was psychic. He would tell her, but he wanted to see if she could figure it out for herself. He hadn't tried to see if he could still use any psychic powers, but that could wait until later. He stood at attention near Dea and could feel a set of eyes on him. He turned to Dea and could see her looking in his direction.
"Did I do something wrong, Dea? I don't think I got anything from lunch on my shirt or anything,"Eilam spoke, not understanding why she was looking at him.
"Eilam, you can sit down near us, instead of standing there like a vulture,"Dea pointed out with an amused grin on her face. Eilam blushed and realized he head forgotten that humans could sit down. He clambered up next to his family, looking a little ashamed.
"Jubilee, asthma is a condition some people have where it is hard for them to breathe. I have this condition, that's why I always carry around this,"Dea told her, grabbing her bag and pulling out her inhaler.
"This is what helps me breathe, it is a medication that goes to my lungs and opens them up more. Kidd dear, I feel dizzy again,"Dea admitted softly, her head on his shoulder. She closed her eyes, trying to fight off the way the room seemed to be swimming.

Jubilee wouldn't have guessed that Dea was psychic. She thought Eilam might, but that was just because she had heard stories, mostly myths and other such epics, about Arceus. There weren't any psychic Pokemon in the forest she grew up in and until today, she hadn't met any personally. She only knew about them and psychic abilities from hearsay.
She definitely thought what Dea said next was more than a coincidence. "Amazing! How do you do that?" She most certainly answered her question before she had a chance to put her thoughts into words. She looked at her, what she did, and what she showed her with rapt attention before saying anything. "Oh, I see. It's kind of like being a fish out of water." She tried to imagine how it would be. She remembered seeing a Magikarp try to jump up a waterfall once, but it missed and landed on the ground instead. It just lied there and flopped around, gasping for air. First vigorously and then kind of in a dinky way. Eventually, it made it back into the water and it was a good as new. She thought the situation sounded sort of sad, but it was good Dea was surrounded by people that supported her.
Kidd reassuringly pat Dea's head. He was anxious. His legs wouldn't stop shaking.
Finally, Dea's name was called. Kidd was so relieved that he pumped his fist and shouted, "Yes!" Now, they could go into the doctor's office.

Eilam smiled softly when he saw how curious Jubilee was about how Dea could answer questions before they were even asked. He remembered being told when he met Dea and her family when Dea was a baby that they had revealed to him she might be psychic. They had gone on to explain that Dea's mother was psychic, so the chances were good it passed down to any or all of the triplets.
"I would tell you, Jubilee, since I can see you haven't figured it out yourself, but I think it is better for Dea to tell you,"Eilam explained.
"I am psychic, Jubilee, I excel at reading thoughts and communicating telepathically with anyone near me. Once in awhile, I get visions as well. Also, yes, Asthma is kind of like that with a fish out of water,"Dea answered with a small nod. She heard her named called and she looked at her husband, seeing how eager he was about this.
"I am ready, honey, but we better hurry, I don't know how long I can remain conscious,"Dea admitted.

Jubilee's jaw dropped. "Amazing!" She'd've gushed more if not for the circumstances. She was glad they were finally out of that waiting room now, so Dea could get some help.
The doctor's office was simple enough. It consisted of yet another waiting room -- fortunately, they were the only ones there now, since the patient before them had already left -- and an examination room. The latter could be seen through an open door in the former. It looked simple enough. It was mostly neutral colors, but it had incredibly adorable pastel wallpaper with an Aipom and Nanab Berry print.
The nurse whisked them into the examination room and she worked on standard tests now, like height, weight, blood pressure, urine, etc. Since this was Jubilee's first time at a hospital, she didn't know what was or wasn't normal. She was rather amazed at all the devices they used, like the scale, sphygmomanometer, reflex hammer, and such.
Meanwhile, the doctor came into the room to handle Dea. He seemed nice enough. He was smiling and came across as a genial person. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Longabaugh." He looked down at a chart he had on a clipboard in his hands. "I have some good news, some bad news, and some iffy news. Which would you like to hear first?"

Eilam followed his family into the room and watched as they went through the normal tests. He was pretty much used to all of this, considering he had gone with her many times when she was sick before. He leaned against the wall and looked over at Jubilee as she took everything in.
"Jubilee, when we get back home, I can give you a book about doctor's offices, if you would like. We got it awhile back when I was curious myself, course had to use telekinesis flip pages at the time because I was in my Pokemon form. It answers a lot of questions and helps understand instruments and other things. Since you are family now and this will probably not be the last time here, I think it would be good for you to know,"Eilam told her. He heard the doctor come in and he turned to see how Dea was holding up.
Dea grabbed her husband's hands, trying to take a deep breath when she heard the doctor had a mixture of news for them. She looked to Kidd, wondering which news they should hear first.
"Honey, which one do you think we should hear first?"Dea asked him in a quiet voice.
