"Are you going to risk your life to try and get them on this common ground? They could take you, Israfel, if you try and talk to them. They all come here with the purpose to either kill or capture. There has been mulitple chances for them to talk, and they came here with that purpose."
He moved to the shore, crawling up and laying down on the grass, breathing out. It was far too exhausting to swim, and if he stayed there any longer, he would sink to the bottom and sleep.
"When we defend, they seek out to take and kill. In our defense, we kill in return. If we don't defend, we are taken and killed. If you want to talk to them, you have to make them want to talk. Give them the offer. If they decline, well, you'll know they don't want to end this peacefully." He rolled to his side. "I doubt they do." All actions on the Hunter side had been anything but peaceful, and he felt too much to have them get away without a few scars of their own.

"Yes Calder." It was simplest, most straightforward answer he could offer. Swimming back to the shore, he fanned out his wings, trying to speed their drying. "I will risk my life because I will then have at least tried. I think we have been... too focused. On what I am not sure. We fight blind Calder. Even as we defend, we fight blind." Shivering, he gave his wings a flap, droplets spraying.
"We don't know Calder. Not really. I will try. I will try for all of us." Gently a wing tip brushed against Calder's face. "I will try to save us."

Calder wasn't sure. He felt that something bad would happen out of Israfel's attempts, and he would put himself in a situation that would result in yet another death. He had to be there if that happened to save him. Best intentions or not, someone had to look out for the siren.
Reaching up, he brushed the soft, wet winds that had passed his face. "Just....be safe." He looked up over at the boil. ".....at the first sign of trouble, save yourself....and if you need someone, call me." He was serious. He'd rather act as a bodyguard than see Israfel go alone.
