Solo 1 - The Fang and The Oncoming Storm

Such a nice day to go on a treasure hunt! Kaida thought as she bounded through the meadow in a state of extreme elation. She was so excited because she had already found a multitude of treasures. In the nearby Eneco lake she had found the smoothest stone ever! She couldn’t imagine how it had gotten so smooth! She also had found some pretty shells. There had been plenty of broken ones there, but she, being the expert treasure hunter that she was, had found several that were complete! They were such a find! Also, even though it didn’t seem to be working now, perhaps due to water damage, she had found a pretty gold watch! It was just sticking out of the sand, waiting to be grabbed. Whoever would have abandoned such a shiny wrist ornament? Despite how amazing of a find the watch was, that wasn’t even the best part! No, that honor was reserved for the amazing gem stone she had found! It looked like a giant fiery diamond! It was absolutely amazing! Though, she was considering giving it away. She may love her hoard of treasure, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t, on occasion, give something away. For some reason, the gem seemed to scream out ‘Rei’; she knew her sister would love it!

Despite already having quite the haul, Kaida was certain she would find something else, something that would dwarf everything else she had found. She didn’t know what it would be, but she had a feeling that it would somehow change her, that its presence in her life would somehow open up a new path for her. Kaida knew better than to argue with her feelings. She wasn’t a Psychic Type, not by any stretch of the imagination, but still, she didn’t argue with a gut feeling. Maybe just a tad of her mother’s psychic ability had passed down to her? Not enough to make her a true psychic, of course, but enough to give her the occasional hunch? Or maybe it was just something she ate… Regardless, she wasn’t about to question it. Now though, she just needed to find this treasure!

She scanned her surroundings; she was certain that destiny was awaiting her in this very meadow, this minty meadow. Off ahead in the distance, she spotted another Eevee. Normally she would have stopped to talk, but today was different. Fortune was calling and she somehow knew it was calling from up ahead.

In a flash she ran past the other Eevee, her eyes scanning the ground. Where could it be? I know it is here! Quickly looking over her shoulder, having sensed someone behind her, she noticed that the other Eevee seemed to be following her. I wonder what he wants, she thought, with a tilt of her head. That sure is a pretty stone on his collar; it kind of reminds me of the collar I have back at home… Different type of stone though…Actually, I haven’t seen that in a while… I wonder where it has gotten to? When I get home I will have to find it! Lost in thought for a moment, she shook her head to reorganize her though. I need to focus on this treasure, though!

As she hopped about, scanning the ground, she couldn’t help but notice the other Eevee continuing to look at her. Why does he keep looking at me? Does he want to say something? Maybe he could help! Before she could introduce herself to the other Eevee, though, she saw it. This must be my treasure! Sticking out of the ground, she spotted a large fang. It looks draconic. She had nothing like this, nothing so spectacular, so unique! She was overcome with joy!

Suddenly though, bursting her out of her bubble of elation, a stray pebble flew by and nearly hit her, coming inches from her nose. She looked up in time to see the other Eevee running off, hurling insults in his wake. She was crushed. The comment stung worse than the pebble would have, had it connected. I…I…I didn’t do anything to him? I was going to ask him if he would help! Why would he do such a thing? That is just…that is just so mean! Well I am glad I didn’t ask him for help! He probably would have tried to crush my treasure or something. She wouldn’t let it bother her though; she had found what she had been searching for. At least that’s what she tried to convince herself to do. It didn’t help though; she was still troubled. With a heavy heart, she pried the fang out of the ground with her teeth and carefully slid it into her pouch. She had found quite the prize, but, at least for now, she couldn’t find any joy in it. The spring taken out of her step, she slowly walked into the forest; it was time to head home.

The Light at the End of the Tunnel - Star Solo

This is sure a long tunnel, Kaida thought as she crawled deeper and deeper into the earth. She had no idea where it was headed, but she was certain there would be treasure! If someone were to ask her how she knew, she wouldn’t have been able to give them a clear answer, it was instinctual. She felt there was treasure there, so there must be! She was the Keeper of Lost Treasures after all. One didn’t get such a title, even if self-proclaimed, by being wrong about treasure. Treasure was her forte, her area of expertise. If anyone could locate a hidden treasure, it was her.

She had been off to the river, for her weekly treasure hunt, when she noticed something out of the ordinary. The little Eevee had taken a mountain route that day, it wasn’t the quickest path, one would call it the scenic route, but she had, once before, found a pretty gem along it’s trails, so she figured she would give it a shot. Maybe she would get lucky more than once! She had a good feeling about it! Actually, that was why, upon seeing a rock slide, the ever inquisitive Eevee went to investigate.

A rock slide meant that previously covered rocks were uncovered, but that’s not all! It could also mean that previously covered treasure was free for the taking, as well! With great skill and expert balance, she climbed the rocky surface, to reach the spot where the fallen boulders once lay. She scaled the surface rather quickly. Such a climb might have slowed a less adept Pokémon, but not her; she was a master of all sorts of terrain. A proper Defender of Nature needed to be able to travel across her domain unimpeded. Upon reaching the source of the debris, she found something that shocked even one as well traveled as her. It was a perfectly round tunnel, one that surely led to depths unknown. As Purveyor of Mysteries it was her duty to get to the bottom of it, both literally and figuratively. She was also quite certain that there would be treasure to be found! Why dig such an unusual and hidden tunnel if not to hide a bounteous fortune?

With much zeal she bounded into the dark confines of the tunnel, only slowing when she bumped her head on the rocky upper surface. From that point forward, she stuck with a slower and steadier pace. What seemed like days passed and she crawled further and further in, getting ever closer to her eventual goal, the treasure that lay within. Of course, what seemed like days was really an hour, tops, and closer to 45 minutes actually, but deep within the confines of the earth, one can lose track of time easily. As she made her way ever deeper, a hunger came over. She silently mourned her choice not to pack a snack. Berry bushes are quite rare underground; there would be no food here. Her hunger mounting, she continued, she would not turn back now. The desire for a snack would not deter her, nothing would. She would reach the end, wherever it might be!

Suddenly, off in the distance, further down the tunnel, she spotted a light, a glimmer, a spot of brilliance in the abyssal darkness. This must be the treasure! She was certain she had found it! There could be no other explanation. With renewed zeal, she rushed the rest of the way, barely avoiding hitting her head several times. As she reached the source of the light, she was overcome in shock. Sitting, at the end of this tunnel was a star. A star and a pile of clothing? A star is one thing, but who leaves around a pile of clothes? Out of nowhere, the Eevee suddenly yawned. What, why am I suddenly so tired? A surprise attack? An ambush? A trap? She didn’t have a chance for anymore guesses though, her eyes shutting, she rested her head on the pile of clothing and sleapt.

Reaction to Growth

Where am I? Kaida was confused; it was dark and very cramped. She felt like she had been asleep for years, and on something very uncomfortable. Then she remembered, the star and the clothes. What happened? With the star no longer being present, the end of the cave was much darker and it seemed smaller as well.

As her eyes adjusted, she glanced down and noticed her body. What happened to me? Then she remembered, the shroomish girl. The same thing had happened to her. Suddenly, realizing how she now looked, Kaida felt very naked. Without thinking, she reached for the clothing, that she had previously used as a pillow, and carefully slid them on. While she wasn’t sure if she liked this new body or not, she was happy that some sort of covering had been provided. Next, she had to get out of here.

When she had entered the long tunnel, she had been a normal eevee, on all fours and, even then, the fit in some places was tight. Now, though, in her new form, she was still stuck on her hands and knees and it was even tighter. It was very slow going, as she crawled out of the tunnel. Why couldn’t the star have been closer to the entrance? While in her mind the journey in had felt like days, only about 45 minutes to an hour had really passed. On the way out, though, an hour in, and she was maybe 1/10 of the way out. She was already rather tired and worried that it might really take days this time. Still, she trekked onwards. As she made her way out, though, she came across a tunnel that she didn’t recognize. Her previous route was still there, but now there was another. How long was I out? Hoping that the new route would be quicker, she decided to take it.

The path seemed just as difficult, but she was no longer going upwards. Just as she was beginning to wonder if this had been a bad idea, the ground below her collapsed, and she plummeted downwards. In the darkness she seemed to fall and fall, she was unsure of how much time had passed…even though it had only been seconds. Suddenly, she was submerged; she had fallen into some sort of body of water. It seemed to have a current to it and Kaida was swept away.

No longer even trying to keep track of time, Kaida eventually saw daylight, as the river emerged outside the mountains. Gasping, she swam toward the shore. Pulling herself out, she laid on her back, at the shoreline. She didn’t recognize it at the time, but she was upriver from the stream where she had met Terpsichore.

After resting for a few moments, she attempted to stand. Success. That feeling was short lived, though, as she stumbled forward. “I’ll need to work on that…” she muttered, exhausted.

Taking another step, she tripped and collapsed to the ground. “Yeah…I will definitely need to work on that….” She didn’t know what to think of this new form. Its awkwardness though, was disheartening.

Quick Sand - (Move Solo - Quick Attack)

“Faster!” Kaida exclaimed as she ran through the sand. Leaping, she launched a kick at the air. Her foot was so fast, it almost seemed to be an invisible blur. “Not quite there yet; I need to kick faster!” Kaida was determined to learn quick attack. It would be just the move she needs to catch someone off guard. She still wasn’t that used to this new form, but she was determined to master it.

Yawning, Terra sat up in her little cave. It was still rather early, but she could hear some commotion outside. It sounded like someone was running about and yelling. Rubbing her eyes, she stumbled towards the entrance. “Who’s out th-“ she started as Kaida ran by in a flash.

Thinking she heard something, Kaida abruptly halted though, or at least she tried to. Instead, she tried planting a foot in the hard ground and ended up flying forward, face first. Rolling over, she sat up as Terra approached.

“Are you alright? That looked like quite the spill.”

“Oh, I’m fine. It takes more then that to take out Kaida, the beast of legend!”

Had she been more awake, Terra might have been more receptive to the grandiose titles, but, as she was half asleep still, she replied, “Beast of legend? Right… Well that was quite the legendary fall.”

“It’s no use; it’s still wrong. As first it seemed like a boon. Kaida, keeper of mysteries, the two tailed humanoid wonder, but its all lanky and doesn’t move right.”

Scratching her head, Terra stated, “It just takes some time to get used to it; look at me.”

“Yes, so you found a star as well?”

“Yeah, it was below my cave.”

“So yours was in a cavern as well? I found mine while seeking forgotten treasure, instead I was given this form.”

“Like I said, it just takes some getting used to.”

“That's what I am trying to do now; that is why I must master this move: quick attack!”

“Well,” she started before yawning, “I’m sure you will learn it just fine, but do you have to do it this early?”

“Early? The day waits for no one, Kaida, master of flames, arises with the sun.”

“Master of flames?” Terra questioned, with a raise of her eyebrow, “I think I have more right to that title.” With that, she launched a ball of fire, thanks to her hidden move.

“What are you? You look like some sort of ground type, but yet you can launch fire. That is impressive!”

“I don’t actually know any ground type moves…I don’t even think I can learn any..”

“Surely you can learn dig! Then you could erupt forth like a volcano and launch flames.”

That woke Terra up. She pictured it in her head, her flying forth from the ground, enshrouded in flames. A smile crept across her face. It sounded awesome. She had no idea who this other girl was, but she certainly had good ideas. “Maybe I will learn dig…” she quietly stated, before snapping out of it. “For now though, you need to learn quick attack! By the way, I am Terra.”

“It is a pleasure to meet you Terra.”

“Likewise,” Terra stated before using protect. “Come at me as fast as you can!” she exclaimed, “You are going to master quick attack, today!”
