Meredith back up some and got closer to the water. Focusing he sent another pulse of water flying at her. This time he was aiming to confuse her instead of doing damage. "Who said this was a coup?! It's not like you are the ruler of these lands!"

"Respect your betters, worm! My family has lived in these plains longer than 50 times higher than you can count!" That water shows from earlier seemed to have messed with her equilibrium. A foul trick from a foul mongrel. She reached for the bell once more to give it another ring, but stumbled. She crashed to the ground, her usual clumsiness not helping at all.

Virgilia struggled under the weight of the buizel. A lady of her esteem was not supposed to be wrestling in the mud with a commoner! She had to get to her bell... She struggled to her feet, but fell over again, her equilibrium still shot.

Meredith skipped back a few steps to make sure she wasn't going to go after him. She didn't as she was so caught up on that bell of hers. Lunging forward he didn't waste trying to lower her defense. After all he may not get so lucky with her remaining confused. So he punched at the ground just before her to send a rock up to hit her.

Virgilia staggered to her feet again, but fell to the side as a rock slammed into where she was just seconds earlier, spraying her with debris. She retrieved the bell from her tuft, and gave it a ring, her head clearing.

Meredith mentally cursed that bell. He darted back towards the water and dove in. After a moment he practically flew out of the water as he had swam around and gained momentum. He used another Water Pulse trying to confuse her again.

Virgilia's fur glowed as she announced, "I, Virgilia, of the Two-Hundred-and-Eighty-Third bloodline command you to gaze upon your deceitful heart and despair!"
As she finished, however, she felt her equilibrium once again get shot as she stumbled.

((I do believe you are confused. It is counted by your turns, first post after I inflict the confusion is your first turn. But the magic coat failed anyways. We'll have to ask FFN sometime later how it would work. Cause I dunno if you should have 400 hp now or not since magic coat failed. XP ))

((I'd think the way it works is it attempts to make the opponent the recipient of the move, otherwise it couldn't be used on sleep/freeze status. But yeah, we'll have to ask Luna.))
Virgilia was knocked down by the attack. She gave the bell another ring, her equilibrium returning.

Again, Virgilia's sense of balance grew worse. This Buizel was infuriating her to no end. Another chime of the bell, and she stood slightly steadier.

Meredith was so furious with that Buneary! She needed to loose that stupid bell! He again pulsed out some more water hoping to confuse her, enough so she couldn't use that bell!
