"I dunno, maybe I should re-evaluate my feelings toward you because of your handwriting." A joke, a flat out lie. Candace could never see herself not loving Gale anymore. It was a nice love. A safe love. Familial.
Candace chuckled quietly when she felt him curling up closer to her, hugging Gale and kissing the top of his head. At his next comment she blinked, lifting her head and just staring down at him with surprise written clear as day on her face. He..thought she was a good sister? Really!? He...aw, Gale! She couldn't help but smile again, playing with Gale's hair and settling down beside him again. "That means a lot to me, to hear you think I'm a good sister~." She said softly, her lips against his hair. "If I could've had a little brother before coming here, I'd want him to be you." Candace was being honest. She was an only child, she had never had the experience of a sibling of any kind to bond with; the closest she got was a cousin or two but even then she didn't see much of them because of her priorities.
"Will you please sleep now, Chipmunk? I'll protect you, I promise. You're safe here, okay?" She would never let anything hurt him. Never. Candace hugged him tighter as if to remind him she wasn't letting him go. "What will it take for me to get you to sleep, Gale?"
