Looks around the boat not seeing anyone. She finally gets his joke and smiles at him "Good one," She pushes the hair out of her eyes and sits down next to him and offers her hand "I'm Lillian Watts. And you are..?,"

He looked at her hand and his heart began to pump faster. This girl, a girl of such beauty, was really talking to him. He lightly grasped her hand and introduced himself. "West Williams," he began. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

She looked up into his eyes and is mesmerized for a minute. A little ways away he's okay but up close he's gorgeous "The pleasure is all mine," she says. She looks away quickly fixing her eyes on the ocean. Taking a deep breath, without even thinking, she asks "What are you doing on the ferry this early on a Saturday morning?" A shocked look on her face, she turns to him "I"m so sorry. That was a rude question," She looks away again, tossing her hair out of her eyes, thinking she should probably stick her foot in her mouth.

They locked eyes. As she stared into his he stared into hers as if they were star crossed lovers still amazed at each others beauty after several years. As she looked away he did so as well, his gaze set on an empty seat in front of them. After her comment he turned back to her. "No no, it's fine, really," he said, his face content and warm. If he were of lighter complexion he would be blushing a bright red at the moment. "I usually go to sell my paintings on Saturday." He looked at the several paintings leaned on the seat next to him. "It doesn't bring in alot of money, but it's nice to have extra spending cash, especially from doing something I love."

She looks down at his paintings "Oh, do u mind if i look at them?" she raises her eyes back to look into his and she's struck again by an attraction she cant explain. The feeling scares her. She stands up abruptly almost dropping her bag. After fumbling with it for a bit and fixing if firmly on her shoulder she says "Umm i've umm...," and walks away quickly to the other side of the boat. She looks out at the water again needing to cool off, just this time not from running. Sighing she looks at the water and thinks about how stupid she must've looked running from him. Groaning sofly she sinks in the nearest seat waiting for the ferry to dock so she can run and hide in the comfort of her beloved bookstore and normal people who have no effect on her

He reached back for the paintings. "S-sure," he said slightly nervous. Many times people didn't care for his bright colors and odd cartoonish characters. As he turned back she stood up and walked across the boat. He thought maybe he had done something, or maybe she was disgusted by his work. He looked at her for a while, then to the ground, saddened and ashamed. He stayed quiet, and fortunately the boat was coming up to shore.'I blew it,' he thought. With disappointment laying on his face he stood with his equipment waiting to get off the boat as fast as he could.

Lillian watches the man named West walk of the ferry after it comes to a stop. She takes another deep breath and stands up completely forgetting that she is supposed to be hurrying to work. She walks as if she's in a daze chastising herself for being such an idiot. "How could i do that? He's just a man.. nothing to b so nervous about," She's still thinking of him as she walks into her job at Lazy's Books. She absently sets her bag in her locker in the back and heads to the front of the store to start her shift.

'What did I do, what went wrong? What did I say to hat could have...' West thought hard after setting up his paintings on a blanket. People came by to view them, some stood in aw admiring is work. His characters were especially a hit with the kids. But that didn't matter at the moment. All he could think about was Lillian.
"How much?" a voice said in a fairly rude voice.
West snapped out of his daze and looked up at the source of the voice. It was a heavy set woman wearing many bright colors. She was standing over one of his paintings, pointing to it. He gaze toward his was harsh and piercing, and it didn't help that she didn't like to repeat herself.
"How much is this one?" she asked again, slightly annoyed this time.
"Huh?" West blinked a few times before continuing. "Oh, um... 95."
The woman bought the painting reluctantly. Much of the day went on like this, each costumer pulling West from a daze focused on Lillian.

If Lilian thought her day couldn't get any worse after being late, she was dead wrong. She was distracted all day. Twice her manager Lori asked her what was going on. And each time she'd reply "Nothing, just a lot on my mind," She tried to focus on her work, she really did, but after starting to stack a new release on the wrong shelf for the second time she was frustrated. The only good thing abot her shift was the fact that it passed by quickly. Going back to her locker and picking up her things she paused for a second, thinking about West. She groaned and walked out of the employees room and out of the store still preoccupied. She suddenly stopped and thought to herself "This is craziness.. i'm so preoccupied with him because I owe him an apology but maybe i can find him and apologize," It sounded like an excuse, even in her head, but she knew she wouldn't b able to think of anything else until she found him and talked to him again so she set off to find him. Besides how far could he possibly be? She set off walking down the street with a purpose.

Already packed up and on the ferry West leaned against the railing thinking of Lilian. There were two small families on the ferry along with him. One particular young girl stared at his Afro as the wind shifted it from side to side. Finally the girl held her hands out for it. The mother looked down, then at West and chuckled while holding her tight from getting away. The members of the boat chuckled, catching West's attention. He looked at the young girl and gave a warm smile as he leaned over to her. She touched his hair, patting and laughing the ride away, and everyone joined in on the laughter. For the remainder of the ride West's mind was off Lilian. As far as he knew she was a lost cause to him, and there was no certain that he would ever see her again. Maybe it was time to move on... But that thought would only last the remainder of the ride.

After spending hours searching for West, Lillian boarded the last ferry of the day. Feeling tired and defeated, she sank onto a bench, looking out on the beautiful sunset. She'd wasted the entire day searching and hadn't turned up a single thing. Maybe she should forget about it. Maybe he thought she was some weirdo-freak girl who just walked up to people and started conversations with them just to run away. Whatever the case was, she was depressed about it. Just then the ferry stopped at the dock. She walked towards her apartment thinking how much a nice hot bath and book would be to make her feel better. And she did feel better with that thought until she reached the inside of her lonely apartment.

Journal 2, There are those who odd, strange. These who are not down to Earth, if they are Earth bound at all. Rather these people have touched a star and lived to tell the tale... And yet they stay quiet.
P.S. I saw her again today. I told you, she wasn't ordinary. It give me hope that maybe I can too reach the stars.

West's eyes opened slowly. "Reality," he said looking on the there side of the bed that laid empty and untouched. "I guess so, sadly." He reluctantly sat up from the other reality he had spent the night in. He stared back at the empty side of the bed. "Even if I hadn't screwed up... I doubt she'd be here." He had dreamed all night about her, and not completely in a appropriate way either. Even while asleep his feelings were strong for her. He pounded his head wonder why he did what ever it was he did to make her leave. His one single chance with such a woman, and he doubted he would see her again anytime soon. Discouraged, he sat there in bed refusing to go sell more art for the day.

Dear Journal, I met someone yesterday morning and we only talked for a few minutes and I stupidly ran for him.. Wth is wrong with me? Just looking into his eyes... God it's like everything faded into nothing and it was just us two... And me the dummy that i am, ran... And of course I'd run without knowing how to contact him at all.. When will I learn not to be a dork? Ugh! i'm going to stop thinking about him right now. Going back to bed so i can try and get some rest. I stayed up all night failing at watching a movie and thinking about him.. I'm talking about him again arent I? How can you be lovesick over someone you've just met? Ugh! going back to bed..
