"Grown, is it... hm." It studied Calder a moment longer, then nodded. "So it seems. And... si, graduation..."
... No, no. It didn't want to think about graduation. The framework it had planned for its future had been obliterated; the structure Amityville had built in was the only stability it had left. "I cannot imagine leaving this place, truly," it said, quietly. "Someone has to make sure the young ones are safe..."

Calder gave a weak chuckle. "Iv actually felt tha same way. It's not graduating - it feels like desertin the front lines if we go. All tha students here don't really know the full scope of it all. We still dun't. It seems....crual to leave em. I don't sappose they have an extended course fur students?" He said with a weak smile.
"I wonder what will happen then, when tha time comes?" He mused to himself. When graduation came, could they all just take their leave, and walk away from Amityville? He didn't feel capable.
"But that's fur a later date. Lets plan closer." He wasn't capable to think that far ahead these days. "Sometime this weak, get ta me about that herb collecting, and anything else ya might need. I'll give updates on my front when I can." Calder rose, before leaning in to hug his friend. "You ur very important to me too. Keep safe." He wished simply holding someone and wishing them safety could be his own magic to keep them alive, but nothing was that simple, and he wasn't sure they would be able to handle another loss. Red had been rather distant in his line of relationships, and Riley had brushed his close circle of friends. He knew her, talked to her, but the impact wasn't as great to him as all his friends. He feared the day when someone very close to his heart would go away forever.

"Yes," Malodore said gratefully, latching onto the closer plans with a sense of relief. "That sounds like an excellent idea..." Its words trailed off when the kelpie leaned in to hug him; after a moment, it reciprocated. "You, too, are exceedingly valuable. I would not have you harmed again. Keep well, as best you can..."

He smiled and pulled back, rising up. "Again, if you ever need me." He didn't know how often he had to stress this point, but he wanted his friend to know that it wouldn't inconvenience him or anyone else if he simply asked for company. "I'll see you later." He said, and leaving the jar with the preserved plant on the table, he left the undead to his thoughts and smaller dorm.
