"Everyone still alive?" Alive it seemed, but not unscathed was what she gathered when she rejoined them. Glyph seemed to be the worst off, but Xun did not look too well either. The blood on the sand had to be his and that would certainly explain why he wasn't standing. Cosine seemed to have Glyph's wound cleaning handled fairly well, perhaps she could help Xun a little. She set her pack down and rummaged through it, pulling out what might have been a spare shirt before tearing a bit of cloth from it. She grabbed her gourd from its loop on her pack, unstoppered it and poured a bit of water onto the cloth before offering it to Xun.
"Here, it'll be a bit less jarring than pouring water over your head." She offered him the gourd as well. "You should drink something once you feel up to it. Don't worry I don't have cooties or anything." She grinned and settled herself on the sand beside him. It was only now that she had taken the time to look around. The sandstorm seemed to have rearranged everything. Lovely.

The lacerations and sheer rawness of his skin was entirely distracting as Glyph crouched in the sands, turning only his head when Xun spoke. Grimacing, Forest swallowed the pain as he spoke, "Are you alright? You're bleeding... Xun?" Worry was clear as day in his voice as Xun slumped again and he moved to rise but his back protested the motion and he grunted, choosing instead to shuffle over on hands and knees, creaking loudly.
Everyone seemed to be fussing over Xun... was his injury that bad? "Is he alright?" He asked of Tien and Cosine, lifting his gaze to the goddesses.
At Ankou's question, Glyph attempted to look over his shoulder and gestured at the lump that was his pack, "It's probably full of sand, maybe something useful's in there..." Inhaling sharply as something dug into his back, a sliver of rock had lodged itself in his skin, Glyph groaned and held still, glad he was belly down.
And for once, he didn't argue about the water - he knew he needed it, knew Xun needed it.

As Tien tended to Xun's wound Cosine pushed herself to her feet and moved towards Glyph. She crouched next to him and frowned as she studied his wounds. "I have some balsm in my pack, though I imagine it was made for humans." Still it might be worth a try. She shrugged her pack off and the cloak which she set to one side. "Ankou, some water please?" It was comforting to know he was mostly in one piece. "Glyph I'm going to try and clean the sand and rocks off. It will probably hurt." Cosine took a knife that had once been her host's and cut into the fabric of her dress so she could tear off some of the flowing skirt. to act as a bandage and a tool for cleansing the poor forest god.
She inspected the sliver of rock and chewed on her lip. Though she knew she should be conserving her energy she placed her hand on Glyph's shoulder, muttered under her breath to transfer a minor feeling of joy to the tree. Hopefully it would take the edge off she thought as the took hold of the sliver and started to ease it from his skin.

There was no argument. Good. He was not sure if he could provide a worthy argument in the state he was in. "Something hit my head." He tried to quell his lover's worries, but winced a bit when Tien started tending to the wound. Still, he did his best to remain still and not hinder her, in spite of the pain. "I am dizzy... But I do not think anything's broken." Thankfully.
"I do not think I would mind cooties at this point..." He was roughly aware of the concept, and, well, did cooties count if you were currently female ?
Anyway. He did not like the look of that knife, but he liked those rocks stuck in Glyph's back even less. Still, there was nothing he could currently do, so he simply laid still so that Tien could clean and bandage what he could not have reached, even if he hadn't been so dizzy.
Ankou nodded and went to retrieve Glyph's pack, before returning to Cosine's side with it. Really, that was about to hurt, bad. Through, maybe...
Well, given what he'd just been hit with, Glyph hopefully wouldn't mind too horribly.. So he put his hands on the forest god's back, hoping the cold might help numb some of the pain. Eventually, through, the spirits started to come back with information, and that was when he began to lose solidity again, allowing the cold mist to more or less spread evenly on Glyph's back.
Eventually, through, he focused back on the here and now and... finally saw what he was doing for himself. "....Uh."
...The hell was he doing, actually ?!
Awkward moment.

Once Xun's wound was clean and free of sand it did not look so bad as she first thought it might be. Head wounds were often deceptive, they tended to bleed a lot despite the small amount of damage. "Nothing seems out of place." So far as she could tell anyway. The fact that Xun was still making sense and was still conscious was certainly a good sign. She set about ripping up more of her spare shirt into bandages to cover up his wound. Before long that was done and his head bandaged as neatly as she could manage.
They would need somewhere to rest until Glyph and Xun were mobile again. "I'm going to have a look around, see if there is a place we could rest until they feel up to moving again." Chances of finding anything were slim, but she could always hope! All this was assuming the sandstorm had not buried any nearby safe havens. Still, she would not go far. The last thing she wanted was to get lost here by herself.

Glyph forced a laugh and shook his head, "I hardly think it will hurt to try." The ripping of the fabric made him grimace and he inhaled, tensing, "That bad, hn?"
Then she was muttering as he felt a wave of something pleasant pass through him, a sort of inspired joy that caught at his worries, his pains, and made them seem so much less. There was, after all, far more to be happy about then hurt or afraid - like the fact everyone was in one piece and they still had most of their supplies, however sandy they might be. In fact, the ridiculousness of his concern struck him so soundly that he laughed. It was a rumbling, earthy sound far out of place in the desert, but Forest could not help it - he laughed, and continued to laugh at their fortune and misfortune.
Shoulders shaking, belly aching, and tears of joy and laughter streaming from down his eyes despite his efforts to wipe them away, Glyph was shaking his head in amusement. The laughter only deepened as Ankou's touch cooled his back... then spread... and spread... and spread until suddenly it was a hand again. It was effective - his whole back was cooler now, soothed, and Glyph wasn't entirely sure what had happened.... "Do... I want to know what you just did, Ankou?" He giggled, unable to help himself, the joy apparent in his voice and the pain much dulled.

If there was something that Lisana had taught her it was that laughter could be infectious. Cosine tossed the stone away and laughed as Glyph did, watching the absurdity of Ankou almost disappearing into the tree, and the look on his face as he realised what he was doing.
She reached for one of the bottles she had brought along and started to wash the sand from Glyph's back. Not an easy task as the laughter shook his body. His comment made her laugh more. "I think in some cultures he'd have to marry you now." She cut more of her dress, leaving it knee length and started to wrap it around Glyph's body. "Can you sit up?" She asked with a smile. Maybe she had overdone the joy just a bit.

Tien finished quickly and went onward to scout, which left Xun Jiang to recover his bearings. Still, if was a few minutes more before he managed to sit down at least, and he reached for the gourd and ripped some of his own outfit off to start cleaning and bandage the rest.
...Through, really, he had to pause once Glyph started laughing. He did not see what was actually that funny ! Through the pause did allow him a good look at what Ankou was actually doing.
....
If anything, the look of pure what the ********> was probably going to make Glyph laugh more. "...Do I even want to ask ?"
Laughter was, indeed, infectious, but Ankou was settled on his usual quiet amusement - once he got over his own shock, that is. Flexing his fingers proved that they worked just fine, and it wasn't long before everything settled again.
Did not give him any more idea of what the hell he had just done, through. Cosine's comment caught him off-guard, through. "Well, they'd have to be understanding as I politely decline." Nothing against Glyph, per se, but... no. Just no.

Tien returned after a short while to find them all laughing, except for Ankou oddly enough. "I missed something, didn't I?" Probably a joke at his expense, if she had to guess. It was a shame she had missed it. Still, laughter might help dull the pain or at least help them ignore it.
"I have some good news at least. There are ruins a little ways off from here, once you two are up to moving." She motioned back over her shoulder in the direction she had come from. They had probably been uncovered by the sandstorm. At least that much at worked in their favor. It would be nice to get out of the sun and finally have that break the storm so rudely interrupted.

"Oh?" Glyph managed between laughs, trying to calm himself before his aches got any worse, "Molesting a god goes for a proposal?" Ankou's response made him burst out laughing again and grit his teeth for a moment, before responding, "What? Not interested in wood, dear Ankou?" He was teasing, of course, taking no offense to Ankou's quiet refusal, amused by the Spirit Guide's serious response.
Inhaling again, and shrugging off the giggle fits, he swallowed and tried to sit up. It hurt, yes, but at least he was sitting now... "Thank-you..." He murmured, that mischievous smile still lingering on his lips.
At Xun's question, Forest bounced his brows, "Ankou's getting fresh with me, apparently he proposed. You would think he'd discuss this with Cosine first, no?" Chuckling he wrapped his arms around his middle, holding his sides, and let out a huge breath. "I'm not resting on my back for a while... how bad is it? ... And Xun, are you okay? How's your head?"
Tien returned shortly thereafter and he shook his head, shrugging with a smile, "Indeed." He perked, "There are? That's a relief... give me a few moments and I'll be good - how far is it?" He'd have to pace himself if was very far at all.

Cosine snorted with laughter at Ankou's response. So deadpan it was actually rather hard to tell if he was being funny or not. Glyph's further teasing only served to bring on another fit of laughter. "Oh, now there's a relief." She tied off the bandage and patted Glyph on the shoulder. "He's not even married to me so I think I'd be quite offended if he wanted to marry you Glyph." She winked in Ankou's direction and pushed herself to her feet. "I think it will heal quickly with water and rest"
Tien's news came as a relief. They could all do with some rest and a chance to get back on track. "Are you okay?" She asked Ankou as she wiped the sand and pale green blood from her own face with what was left of the cloth scraps.

"One would think he'd have asked me first..." Thankfully, Xun Jiang was amused, as proved by the gentle wagging of his tail as he reached to take a slow sip out of the gourd at his side. Thankfully the vertigo was clearing up some. Whatever had hit him had actually been one hell of a hit.
Hopefully there would not be more sand storms in their way, but given their track record so far... Yeah.
"But I can share. Maybe" He could not help but hop in the teasing train, really. It was just too easy
Was Ankou actually serious, or teasing in return ? Well, it looked like the others would have to guess for themselves, because there was no clarification. He'd apparently just decided to let the teasing run it's course - they'd get bored of it soon enough... or at least he hoped.
Cosine seemed to be done with Glyph, and it seemed like he'd helped some... Even if it was in an unexpected and... apparently hilarious way.
He still was not sure what exactly had been funny here.
"Well. I have sand in places I was not aware sand could get into." Okay. That was actually a joke. "But other than that... I am fine." Beside the bruises, but well... Even those were fading rather quickly.

"You can see the beginnings of it a few dunes away." It had not taken her long to get there, but with Glyph and Xun in tow this trip would be a bit slower. No sense rushing and someone tumbling down a dune or something worse. "Ten, maybe fifteen minutes?" Still that was only a best guess of how long it might take.
Talk of marriage? What had she missed while she was gone? Ah well, she could always ask about the conversation later.

"Share, mn?" Glyph replied, amused by Xun's teasing of Ankou. After a moment, he slowly rose and the damage to his backside was obvious. The back of his legs, torso and arms were all raw and glistening from the sap-like blood forming protective scabs, his hair was stripped of leaves in places, leaving it a barren string, and his eyes, while merry, were dulled with the pain of the injury. His loin cloth, too, was holding on by only a band of frayed fabric but he seemed least concerned with that. The popping and snapping, as of dry and brittle wood, that emanated from him indicated his need for rest and recovery just as surely as his physical condition.
"I... guess my cloak's decorating the dunes somewhere, hn?" Ankou's joke made him chuckle and he winced as it made something on his back crack and a jolt of pain race through him, "You have sand in places it shouldn't be? Welcome to the club."
Meandering over to Xun's side, Glyph offered a hand and a warm smile, earnestly glad Lifewater was alright. Even injured and in pain, Forest was tender to his lover, protective and nurturing. While he helped Xun, he looked over to Tien, "That's not long... thank-you, Tien. And... remind me not to challenge you to any races, hm?" He grinned as he spoke the compliment.
"Can someone carry my pack? I would but I'm half convinced it would get stuck to me right now." He looked to their group at large.

Cosine laughed at Ankou's joke and nodded, they likely all did. As he said he was fine she nodded and turned back to pick her cloak and bag up. "I'll carry it for you." She offered as she wrapped the cloak back around her, pulling the hood up over her hair. Above a familiar caw made her smile. She did feel a little guilty for forgetting about her feathered companion in the aftermath of the storm, though Infinity was better equipped than any of them to get out of the way quickly. "I suppose it's far too much to ask that there might be a nice hot bath at these ruins?" Cosine smirked, holding her hand out to take Glyph's pack.
