Cass wasted no time in getting the hell out of dodge, moving carefully on her way out to avoid any further detection. She barely had any FEAR shield left. She had to hold onto that while finding somewhere to hole up in and patch it up a bit.
She settled into her room again as she pulled out a bandage and slapped it onto her FEAR shield.

Okay, she wasn't comfortable going off without hitting Nick up a little bit more with another one of these bandages. They needed to be able to try and clear out a few more critters before going home, right?

Cass ran down the hallway towards where Marcus's room was to see how things were down there when she nearly tripped over another dead hunter, the stone weapon of their tablet breaking apart on contact.

Cass didn't even have a chance to attack it before it brought one hand sweeping across her, causing her to go rolling down the hallway. However, Nicodemus seemed to be of the same opinion she was.

Mmmm, bandage. That felt pretty nice, actually. Cass took a deep breath before she moved to step in and actually slice through the creature again, feeling the blade split through it with a sort of calming reassurance to it.
Felt good.
Felt strong. Still, she really could have used some backup right then. She probably had three good hits in her shield left as long as she got good attacks back in, but..
she could have also been in over her head too.

There was an exceptionally loud curse from down the way as Marcus charged to where Cass was currently fighting. He'd been waiting for her to return to talk to her, but when she had taken what Marcus considered 'long', the moon trainee went out to look for her. When he heard the sounds of a fight, worry and panic kicked into high gear sending him rushing over. "Cass!" He had no idea what had gotten into her but that thing- "God damn it Cass." Standing next to her, he held his sword up, ready to protect her, despite what the voices were saying to him.
"What the hell are you doing Cass? Trying to die?" Anger mixed with worry, and it blurred in his expression.

Cass doubled over, coughing a bit before Marcus came running to her rescue - her hero, really. Despite the fact that she was in a less-than-ideal situation with all of the creature and the stuff and the creature. Had she been taking too long to get back to the caves?
"Sorry..." she wheezed, shifting her hold on Nicodemus. "I just didn't expect to get wrapped up in a second one of these things. That's all." she explained as she fired on the thing again.
"Thought I'd wrap this up and then come home, but...." she trailed off, panting. "Just one more. We can manage one more, right?"

To Marcus, five minutes without Cass was long. Six? Shut down everything. Granted he was still confused about feelings and their status and everything with the voices but Cass was Cass and he loved her. That much wouldn't change.
"Next time take a buddy." 'or me' was what he wanted to say, but never came out. "I don't want you hurt or something okay?" Resisting the urge to embrace her he kept his focus on the creature, sword held up. "You're precious to me you know that?"

Cass smiled. "I'm sorry. I didn't expect to be gone this long." she confessed with a small sigh, hissing a bit when her next attack missed the damn thing before stepping back.
Okay, this was a bit more of a mess than she'd intended it to be. Damn. Just...damn.
"Maybe I lied....." she hissed, "I might be spent for the day. Nicodemus isn't holding up too well and I could really use a break, but....." she really didn't want to just leave the thing rampaging the hallway. That would have been stupid.

He frowned more as he failed to keep her completely safe. Damn it he just ******** up all the time didn't he? He should just transfer over to sun and be done with it. Still he wanted to keep her safe, him sucking or not. "Go then. I'd run and be alive then stand up to have you dead. Or- He kept his guard up, eyes not leaving the creature. "I'll handle it."

Cass frowned back at him, then looked at the creature with another small frown. He was right. She should let him handle it. All she was going to do was get herself killed, but....
Even as she shifted her weight to attack again, Nicodemus reeled in her head with a 'NO' to end all nos, suddenly stopping her before she frowned and stepped back. There was a tiny frown on her face as she relented underneath that 'No'.
"I..... I'll wait for you." she murmured, half leaning against him before she stepped back to move away. "I'll be waiting for you when you're done, alright?" she added, not quite in full retreat, but taking steps back towards a door to head out of this hall and to exit out to a portal as quickly as she could.
