Hearing Luke's sword fall, Yuri turned to look and blinked in surprise as the boy too fell to the ground.

"H-hey... are you okay?"

This said he quickly bent down next to Luke, checked his pulse, and gave the boy a gentle shake.

"Hey kid! Luke! C'mon, get it together." He then sighed as there was no response from him. It looked like he'd just passed out, but without knowing how or why, Yuri didn't really know what to do. He was no doctor after all.

He would just have to take him to one.

Picking up both his own and Luke's swords, the latter of which he returned to the boy's holster, he then heaved Luke up and placed the unconscious boy around his shoulders. Repede walked over and picked up Emil's sword as well, carrying it in his mouth.

Carrying Luke firefighter style, Yuri walked as fast as he could to the nearest emergency center.

What a day this was turning out to be.

For Luke, it seemed as if he had only blinked, save for that when he closed his eyes he was upright and when he opened them again he was staring at a ground that moved despite the fact that he wasn't walking. He became faintly aware of his surroundings at a slow pace, eventually giving vocalization to his confusion, "What th' hell...?"

The kid was heavy, and carrying Luke by himself was not all that fun for Yuri. However, he seemed to be managing it as he approached the emergency room at a fortunately nearby hospital. He turned his head a little when Luke started coming to and actually spoke.

"G'morning sleeping beauty," Yuri said in a slightly strained voice. "You blacked out back there. I'm taking you to a see a doctor."

It was about then that he walked through the automatic doors of the ER.

"Hey, can I get some help here?!"

"What, no..." Interaction served to further rouse him, and though he was immensely tired, he could still clearly remember the events prior to his sudden spell of unconsciousness. "No, what about Emil? There's no time for this..."

They were approached by a nurse, summoned by Yuri's calls, "What seems to be the problem, sir? Should I get a wheelchair?"

Now he was awake. "I can walk fine, dammit! Come on, we don't have time for this!"

"The kid fainted, check him out would you?" Yuri said to the nurse as he slid the boy off his shoulders.

"Don't worry about Emil. You're no good to him if you pass out again."
PostPosted: Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:16 pm

He staggered from the unexpected weight of being upright, still lingeringly dizzy. "I'm not going to pass out again!" he argued, though his words meant little to the nurse who easily picked up on the residual effects of fainting.

"Sir, if you'd come this way..." The woman gestured towards one of the examination rooms used when admitting patients, her gentle disposition firming as Luke continued to refuse to accompany her, "Sir, fainting is no matter to take lightly. You can follow willingly or I can have someone carry you."

Too tired to resist much further, Luke was forced to comply.

Yuri was equally unconvinced as Luke wobbled on his feet. He stepped away and leaned against a wall with his arms folded as he watched the exchange between the boy and the nurse. Black eyes following them as they went into another room, shutting the door.

The man waited there for a few moments, then stood upright again and slipped out the door in silence.

Repede, who had been waiting outside, sensed his master's intentions and followed quietly. Yuri would handle this situation even without Luke. The kid didn't need to get himself hurt again in the process. Thus, the raven haired man made his way towards the pier and a section of abandoned warehouses.

Luke couldn't remember the last time he'd had any kind of thorough medical examination. It was frustratingly long and tedious, though it gave him ample time to return to a state of normalcy - ignoring, of course, his growing impatience. When informed that his condition indicated a need for further tests, he stubbornly refused to put his signature on the consent forms, continuing to ignore the recommendations of the increasingly frustrated nurse - and the doctor as well, when she had had enough of the boy and sent for someone of greater authority - until the ceded to allow him to leave. It wouldn't be any longer than that before Luke began to make his way to the pier in search of the warehouse in question.

At the pier, amidst the row of unused warehouses, one's set of doors were flung wide open, revealing a great, dim maw inside.

Walking along the pier, passing by warehouses without any sign of life, Yuri eventually paused beside one particular run down building. Its doors had been left wide open. At his side, Repede started growling once again. There was no fooling the nose of a dog after all.

Reaching into his pocket, Yuri pulled out a leather fingerless glove with brass studs on the knuckles. Slipping the glove onto his right hand, Yuri held his sword firmly and started walking into the warehouse. It was most likely a trap, but there wasn't much choice here. If Emil was to remain unharmed at least.

Repede, still growling lowly, followed after Yuri. The Pokemon remaining on full alert as the two of them ventured inside. It was dark, dank, and musty, not exactly a pleasant place to be.

The warehouse's interior was predictably expansive, either side lined with tall pillars to support the high ceiling. Sheets were pinned to the walls, presumably to block out the daylight that would otherwise be allowed by large windows. The dangling switch of a hanging lightbulb was pulled on the end of the chamber opposite the door, illuminating the forms of the armed man from earlier and a restrained Emil as well as somewhere vaguely in the realm of two dozen very generic-looking thugs. The man standing near the lightbulb, his hand still lingering near the chain switch, raised an eyebrow, "Hey, thought I invited both of you. Where's your friend? He chicken out?" All eyes were on Yuri, though no one yet moved to violence.

Emil was securely tied to a chair, his hands and ankles bound by ropes. They had also gagged the poor boy to shut him up, and judging from his tear streaked face, he'd obviously been crying. He let out some muffled noise as he saw Yuri, but could do little more than that. He too wondered where Luke was.

Yuri stood there, looking at the boy and then at the group of thugs that surrounded him. The man just shrugged with a small smirk. "He had other things to do. Looks like you get to play with just me today."

His expression then turned serious and with one fluid movement, the scabbard of his sword was flung off to the side, revealing the blade. It was then flipped into the upright position, ready for attack. "Let the kid go."

Repede's growls intensified and the Growlithe too crouched down, ready for the attack.

The cliche thug, the evident leader of the small band, shook his said slightly, smirking, "I don't think you're the one making the calls here. Way I see it, you're all kinds of outnumbered." His expression grew severe, "Ain't looking to kill anyone here; just paying you back for the other day. But you are seriously making me consider reversing that verdict, ya cheeky b*****d."

The men simultaneously rushed their intruder, unarmed save for their fists - they were on orders not to kill, after all. Most weren't terribly experienced in intelligent combat, relying more on hitting heavily than smartly, but there was the occasional fighter who was knowledgeable in such tactics as dodging and feinting. They by and large ignored Repede, seeing the dog as less of a threat than the swordsman.

"Bring it!" Yuri called as the thugs started their charge. While many of them were inexperienced, their opponent was not. He had a long history of fights. That's what happened when you were a troublemaker like Yuri.

Emil began to sweat again, seeing little hope for himself and Yuri as the man was definitely way outnumbered. He looked away and squeezed his eyes shut with a whimper.

The mass came at him like a stampede. Yuri ducked as a fist was swung, and deftly dodged another while spinning around to lash his sword out at the nearest man. A cry rang out as the blade cut into his arm, causing blood to spatter on the concrete floor. Another two lashes went right through one man's belt and sliced a hole in his shirt, and nicked the leg of another. He wasn't looking to kill anyone either. Simply making a point, literally.

They would regret ignoring Repede. As the forward thugs attacked Yuri, the Growlithe went in from behind. There was a shout as teeth sank into one man's rear, then another as someone's pants were suddenly on fire.

Flipping his sword over his shoulder, Yuri ducked another punch and then threw his own at another thug while catching his sword again. The brass studs smashing into the man's jaw. With a smug grin, Yuri lept backward swinging his sword over his head and then readying for another attack.

"C'mon, is that all you've got? I know little girls that are better!"

The leader figure looked on with an expression that vaguely indicated he knew little girls that could fight better as well. He lifted his chin slightly, folding his arms across his chest, "Let 'im have it."

Some of the men had already dropped back, either due to injury from or fear of the swinging blade. Their numbers dropped to roughly fifteen or so, though it was the more resolute and the more skilled that remained standing. At their leader's call, they drew out their own weapons, wielding a variety of blades ranging from basic pocket knives to legitimate daggers. Approximately three of the men broke off from the main group to focus on Repede, convinced now that the Growlithe was indeed threat enough to address.

Yuri's eyes narrowed slightly, but his smirk still remained as the core group of thugs withdrew their weapons. Ah ha. It was on now.

Repede snarled as three men came his way, while about a dozen remained focused on Yuri.

Sparks literally went flying as Repede rushed them in a Wild Charge. A bolt hit one of the bladed weapons and effectively electrocuted the man as the Growlithe barreled into him. With that man knocked flat and convulsing, the Pokemon stood atop his chest and growled as the other two reluctantly approached.

Yuri's blade went into action yet again as the attack began anew. A pocket knife went spinning through the air after his sword connected with a man's hand, leaving it a bloody mess. Kicks, punches, and sword swings were dealt in succession, but this group was smarter than the ones that had fallen back. They managed to surround Yuri and came at him from all sides. Despite his skill and speed, he had difficulty keeping up with so many at once.

There was a couple more cries of pain as the katana tasted flesh once more, leaving one man with a deep gash in his abdomen and another in his leg. He dodged several blows himself but as they advanced, a dagger cut him across the back, causing Yuri to stumble. This was the opening they were looking for. Quickly two of the thugs grabbed Yuri by the arms.

A yelp from across the room was also heard as Repede went skidding across the floor from a well aimed kick.
