It was late when Selet realized that this storm wasn't here for his entertainment, it was just a mindless mass of fury that would kill him if it could. He looked around in a panic, searching for his parents, but the sand flying everywhere made his eyes sting and water and kept him from seeing anything at all. He could not make out any shapes, let alone ones large enough to be Spina or Bauble.
He coughed, struggling to breathe, and walked out of a mindless wish to survive. He had no idea where he was going, but he would live, if he could only find a safe place. He just had to find that.

Well, so much for willpower. Kamiseen took another look at the mortals below. He saw the families cowering beneath their meager shelter. Good, he didn't really want to see any pointless mortal deaths today.
But...what was this now? One of the juveniles had gotten separated from his family. The storm was reaching its peak now, and it was unlikely that a child, alone, could survive. To see one so young die...it wasn't something the god could be a party to.
He sent a small blessing towards the juvenile, guiding the boy's footsteps towards a small rocky outcropping that the child could not see through the storm.

He kept walking. And walking. And walk-ow! The cub shook his head to try and clear the pain of running into something. His eyes were streaming with tears and he'd kept them closed to better protect them from the scouring sand. Hesitantly Selet extended a paw to examine the intrusion.
It was a rock. And one one side of it, there was a kind of lee, somewhat sheltered from the wind! The cub dove for it without further hesitation.

Ah, good. He had at least saved the one boy. What the child did with his life after the sandstorm was his own choice. But at least the boy had that choice now. With that thought, Kamiseen spread his wings and took flight. Perhaps now was the time to return to the Gods' Haven.

It was loud, it was dirty, it was hot, it was painful. Selet squeezed his eyes closed and prayed. It was so incredibly lucky that he'd stumbled into this rock - the juvenile doubted he would have survived otherwise.
There must have been someone up there looking out for him. He hadn't really believed in the gods, not the way his mother did. Not until now.
