Home. They were finally back home again.

Though something was wrong... why couldn't they just go back to their beds? And why were all these people there? Her own thoughts mixing with the voices in her head were giving her a headache, so Imryn just followed along with the flow of things for the time being, picking up a few things here and there.

Quarantine? Why did they need to do that? Everyone- well almost everyone was fine... just needed some time to sleep and go see the Nurse.

Huh... sleep... now that sounded good.

And with that, she passed out on the floor with the others.

It felt so odd to be back in Halloween after everything that had transpired in the past couple of weeks. Dev wasn’t sure when or why or how, but when she walked through the portal and exited the isles she found herself out of her natural form. She fought to keep her eyes open as a hand reached up for the skull pin at the collar of her shirt. Whatever noise and sounds were around her quickly filtered into her ears as background, regardless of volume. There was a far-off glaze to her eyes as she managed to keep her attention on the Bogeymen waiting for the students. She lifted an arm to point at one of them. “Ah…”

Quarantine. Quarantine. The word echoed around the cu sith as something tugged her forward. She felt other students bump into her as she stumbled, but Dev continued to move past the blurs and fuzzy murmurs. Her eyes slowly grew wide as she attempted to take in her surroundings, filled with anger and chaos. Whatwhatwhat—

There was the familiar sight of the gymnasium and somehow the voices in her head were starting to find. Her ears twitched with relief, but now her senses and memories came rushing back. Dev nearly dropped to her knees when she felt the heavy weight of her exhausted body. “Fallow? Mea?” Her voice was barely above a whisper as she continued to look for the two. She was always looking, searching, losing them. There was a familiar neon-marked body and she collapsed next to Fallow. “Fallow,” Dev murmured quietly, reaching out to scratch the back of one of his ears before she relaxed and fell asleep.

"I hate you all," the ghost muttered to himself as he followed the other students.

His eyes were shut tight, his hands gripped at his hair with his palms covering his ears. His body ached. His mind was occupied; it was occupied with mixed memories of death and home, and a thousand voices he couldn't understand. Even returning to somewhere familiar was not providing any sort of solace for the weary soul.

The fear of death had passed him. He had faced it so much during the last couple of days. He had become numb to it. But it had left a void in the ghost. The voices had torn it wider, and now it was slowly being filled with frustration, and hatred.

Teenage years are filled with confusion in all species. Facing the destruction of a world and the loss of life makes it much more complicated. What fruit would all these events bare for a young ghost?

Reiko looked around, surprised. The onryo didn't recognize where she was-but there was only one place it could be. She was...at Amityville? Yes, that had to be it...How strange, that she had been taken back here.

After all, no one wanted her around, she was useless, worthless. Okaa-san would surely throw her out upon her arrival at home, because somehow, some way okaa-san would know that Reiko had spent time while she was away interacting with boils and lending them her things and becoming friends (?) with them. And this was not her home, not her school, she would be pushed out of it as soon as this quarantine was over.

She allowed herself to be led, too deeply buried in her own self-loathing and exhaustion to fight it.

Finally, she fell asleep, a deep, dreamless sleep. Relief.

Where was she? Canon hunched down toward the ground, tail raised and poised to sting, antennae churning with anxiety. What had happened to the Phoenix? If these voices would just let up, and let her think!

A boogeyman nimbly grabbed her by the tail, forcing the skull pin back onto the squirming Skark. Suddenly humanoid once more, she found herself lowered upright to the ground and given a not too gentle shove in the direction of the rest of the students. When she tried to turn around and lash out at the boogeyman, she was simply reoriented and given a harder push.

Too tired to fight, she walked, hands covering her ears, trying to keep out the voices. Too tired to even show a hint of curiosity at the new surroundings, she took a vacant spot on the floor of the gymnasium, and rocked back and forth until she passed out.

Shenny could predict it might happen, if only she was in her normal state of mind, of course.

Being awaken from the "Home" dream was quite traumatic itself. For a moment, Shenny couldn't realize where she is, when she is, who the Jack she is... She stared blankly around noticing figures and slow movements: hunters, horsemen, students, the phoenix flying inside the hunters' portal, the hunters escaping following the bird... Finally the sorceress fell something. The voices in her head... they were merging into a melody, a marsh, cruel and powerful. A tiny flame of emotion started to burn inside her, it grew larger and larger, and very soon enough her entire being was on fire. She was melting in the flames of rage and hatred, unnecessary, unmotivated. Voices in the ghoul's head were way more powerful than her own will, especially traumatized by the insanity. The insanity filled her being, her every inch.

But suddenly different voices appeared on the corner of her mind. The ghoul blinked and opened her eyes. Somehow the whole crowd of students and what remained of horsemen went back through their portal, Shenny didn't even realize when. The boogeymen were there, they took them and guided them, Shenny almost felt there was something wrong, but she was too weak to argue, too weak to even speak, and anyway, she had no better idea.

"Quarantine"... When they arrived at the place, she noticed some familiar faces, some fellow students, the byakko she was arguing with the other day (oh Jack, it seemed to be an eternity ago); she wanted to say something, to talk, but she had to strength at all. Hey eyes closed, and the sorceress fell unconsciously on the floor.

The weight off his chest was gone, but there was still something heavy on his heart regardless. The Boogeymen wouldn't be able to quarantine that part.

Home. Home. Finally he was home. The phoenix hadn't come in, the Hunters hadn't infiltrated the portal, and their school was still standing in spite of the hell they had all gone back to. Friends were waiting, if he could just . . .

The zomboil coughed blood weakly, forgetting just how much damage the Hunters had done to him as well as the fact that he'd pull a semi-crazy stunt in pulling out his own rib bone for a dagger - it still was clutched in his hand, stained pink and gleaming in the twilight. And then his vision blurred and one dagger became two and he staggered to the nearest wall and felt suddenly nauseous and -

. . . Sleep? Sleep sounded good. He was out before he hit the ground.

Mei was was in and through the portal before she even knew it--back home, her arm, slowly regenerating over time. How did she even lose it again? She couldn't remember. Thinking only encouraged the voices to chatter more around her head. Why did these voices come back with her? Or were they always there? Grumbling, she gripped at her head, ready to tear out hair when the bogeymen came into view.

They were shouting about something, but all it did was add to the current voices. "Ugh, shut up, shut up, shut up!" It didn't help any when the bogeymen began to herd the students like cattle. Just like the hunters previously had. Damned bastards! Did they have a special agenda planned like the humans? Just the mere thought was about to send the doll into a raging fit.

Then came the announcement of remaining under quarantine. Now they were to be held up here? But she needed to see Bul! She had to make sure that the phoenix hadn't actually come here too! Yeah it went through the other portal, but what if it was a hunter trick of some sort? Or, or something else?

She knew she had to do something, but, she felt oddly tired, like all her energy was suddenly drained from her. Half lidded, she strained to listen to the conversation between bogeymen and horsemen, but drifted off without realization.

Wylfenne was nearly collapsed from the sheer amount of events that happened recently. Indifferently they watched the escape of the Phoenix, and their exodus through the portal. Students, horsemen, the Fae could see Invictus and Medea, Aurian and others walking in the Weeping forest surrounded by the squat of Boogeymen. What was happening? Why couldn't they just go home? Wylfenne was dreaming of getting back: at that moment he wasn't bothered with the mission, or with what the elders would say, the Fae simply didn't want any adventures... not anymore. But instead of home, they were going to the Amityville, but not to the dorms... Strange, unfamiliar building was awaiting them, as they were pushed inside by the boogeymen. Why are they being treated like criminals? They didn't do anything wrong!

Sleep! Only inside the room, Wylfenne finally realized how tired they were. Watching other students and even horsemen powerlessly falling on the floor, the Fae tried to focus and concentrate to stay awake: they still had no idea what was happening. "All right,", they said to themselves. "I will just close my eyes... for a minute. Just relaxing, I won't sleep no... may be just a quick nap, for ten minutes... nothing's going to happen in ten minutes, right?". The fae closed their eyes, and a moment later fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.

He didn’t say a word, the hate and the anger lingered in his soul as wanted to growl at the other students, they were close touching him shuffling all at once to a portal all to return home. Yet this all faded away as they appeared back in the forest all being cornered into a little group as the bogeymen whispered the words of quarantine. They herded them, and with each step he took his feet felt heavier and heavier as the touched the ground, every limb of his body felt as if they were filling in with sand and becoming stiffer and stiffer all he wanted to do was give up.

However, he was home, he was finally back home however it felt weird, it felt different from what he could remember as if a tainted pair of glasses were pulled off his face. It was not over, despite being home, Joachim could not simply just wash the memories away. They were going to linger forever in his mind and in the very core of his soul, the entire experience was burnt into every fiber of his being and permanently seared on ever wound he received.

Joachim and the rest of the students were herded into the gym, he hadn’t seen Ev, Muka, or even Kettil since the fall of the island and the fog had wrapped around them and he wanted somewhere in his mind look for them, to see if they were ok.

But he didn’t, instead his body grew heavier as they stood in the gym, without another thought he laid down on the floor petting the pocket were Merel rested letting the world go black.

Though her mind was groggy, Xiu still managed to recognize their current surroundings. Finally...finally they were back home. Her limbs felt heavy with exhaustion as she turned to scan around. It seemed all the students were here, including Riley--

--Riley. Seeing the statue of her friend and the Bogeymen that surrounded her was enough to sent a jolt of panic through her system. Though weak, it was enough to encourage her to try pushing forward through the crowd to get to the mindflayer. There was a hint of desperation to her voice as she tried to slip through, stretching a hand out to the statue. "Riley...Riley, hang in there, we..." We'll find a way to save you.

She didn't get to finish her sentence--nor did she even get close to Riley--when the Bogeyman suddenly began barking for the statue to be quarantined. Or...no, it wasn't just Riley they wanted quarantined, but all the students. Though she ordinarily would have resisted, Xiu simply felt too drained to do so, silently allowing herself to be pushed along with the flow of the crowd.

Home. This was her home. She paused briefly to stare up at the gates of Amityville when they finally arrived, only to stumble forward when someone shoved her from behind. The baku knew that she should have been happy to be back, but her thoughts were focused only on her lingering headache and drooping eyelids. It was a fight to keep herself conscious as they made their way to the gymnasium.

And once they arrived, she gave up. Sinking down somewhere, the ghoul lay down and pulled her legs up to her chest, her eye fluttering shut.

They were...

Home?

And Riley had come with them, thank Jack, she was here, here and... and stone and... no, no, any moment she would be soft and warm and sweet again, it was certain, but time kept moving on and she kept being stone and-

And the bogeymen were there, too, surrounding them. The hated, cold beings who had tried to take thier school, who had not believed them when Red had... had turned to stone, and here was proof that everything they had said was true, but this was its precious mate, not some cold evidence for them to remove! Malodore rose slowly, finally freeing itself from her hold a little more, its wings rasping as it bristled at the approaching officers.

"She is... you cannot have her, not forever, she is mine," it informed them, wrapping its arms around her and holding her tightly. "Please, she is... wherever she goes, let me go with her, I have to help her, I am a doctor, a scientist, per favore..." It looked at them pleadingly, shaking slightly from tension, as if at any moment it might cease being rational. Not from Insanity, but simply from being utterly, completely broken.

Because they were here, in Halloween, and it smelled tasted sounded looked felt like home and-

She.

Was still.

Stone.

No, no, she could not leave it! It could not leave her! The plague doctor shook, a tear snaking free from under one lens. "Please-"

Her long embrace had long since ended and Mea shuddered as they were moved along like cattle. A fresh wound from a friend had roused her in the midst of it all but her body had refused to move from where she had been held as it had been one of the few feelings of safety she had in a good long while. Even when he had gone she remained with her feet firmly planted. Now that was no more.

The ghoul couldn't tell if she was truly happy to see the sight of Amityville before her - but what were emotions in the first place? There was nothing else but a sense of loss and utter exhaustion and in docile fashion moved among the crowd. Face after face moved through her field of vision but she did not flinch or even react much beyond a grunt or a silent twitch of her ears.

Endless words chattered off and she paid no mind as she hobbled along her on her injured knee among the blurring mass of - were they even students anymore? Alamea had been so accustomed to chaos now it seemed useless to try to work through it just yet. There was no phoenix to fight, it had crumbled. There we no hunters, they had disappeared. "What-"

Mea couldn't form the sentence as she collapsed to the floor weakly. Sniffing the air she caught the last bit of familiarity that her shattered mind could comprehend and she moved towards it. Black and green, the scent of dog, a hint of fire, lovely blue hair and a boil of great courage. Somewhere in the gymnasium a rabbit collapsed in the mess of what she'd known.

She hoped it would be a dreamless sleep.

Mitzi didn't recognize the Forest at first, when she stepped through the portal. The trees seemed unfamiliar, the sights, the smells... the figures surrounding them, ushering them forward.

At first all she could do was stumble along with everyone else, her arms wrapping around her, as if to hold her together. She kept looking through the crowd, trying to find familiar faces, but even students who she knew in passing looked strange in the odd light, with the voices whispering in the back of her mind, telling her they were all strangers, all wanted to hurt her. She shook her head. No, they were other students, it was fine.

Right?

And then the gymnasium again. It looked both familiar and strange, and as everyone started to fall to the floor in sleep, she forced herself to stay on her feet a little longer. She needed to find someone, anyone, a friendly face.

She was almost at the point of collapsing herself when she found a small huddled form, recognizing long black hair and a white kimono. She sank to the floor nearby, resting her back against the wall next to her. She'd shake Reiko awake in just a second, make sure she was all right before falling asleep herself... she would... she...

She couldn't even finish the thought, her eyes drifting closed while she was still upright, before she slumped to her side next to the onryo.

Most of what people were saying around her didn't register at all. Her own unfortunate attack upon herself had halted her in any further attacks or any idea of where she was going to next. There was only a dull sense of awareness in her mind and the remaining voices fueled by Insanity before the chimes filtered through and pulled her back. Olivia's head lulled to the side for a moment, unsure of what was really going on. Things were clear, yet not at the same time.

Olivia made it through the portal without protest, her tired blue eyes taking in the woods that finally settled into view after a very disoriented trip. The greys shifted a little closer to their correct palette and the ghoul couldn't help but feel so much better seeing those trees even though they still looked... off. There were Boogeymen all around, shouting about Quarantine and other such things but the remaining voices seemed to override them from the more important orders they were barking out.

Only when they were prodded to move again, did Olivia realize she was once again shaking. Like through the whole experience with the phoenix, should couldn't get her body to remain still. Everything was a blur and so many things were dull and the small ghoul couldn't help feeling completely alone aside from the whispers. Her gaze caught the sight of a statue, the one that had been on the island with them, for a moment and then the fenced off area. Were they being separated again?

She wanted to call out to her friends or to look for them once they were ushered into the Gymnasium but an overwhelming lethargic feeling begin to flood down on her along with a feeling of dread. And like the world around her, her brain just felt muddled and off. So tired... like after that weird room. She had taken a nap with her two friends but she wasn't able to find them now.

Her feet didn't take her very far before she curled up on the ground, her arms wrapped around herself and her eyes fluttering shut. The voices lulled her to sleep as she hoped that perhaps her friends would find her.
