B'nas and Brown Milnth HP: 53 Dmg Mod/Agility: +2 Thread Burned: 6 (previous roll 2) Current Thread: 58/108
B'nas spotted a large clump of Thread heading straight for the rider of a Green below him. He yelled a warning even as he urged Milnth forwards, searing the deadly enemy from the sky, hopefully the Greenrider had ducked at his yell but even if they hadn't they'd probably only get minorly singed. "Keep your damn eyes open" he snapped as Milnth drew alongside the rider for a moment before Milnth beat his wings and moved towards another tangle of Thread. So far Milnth had avoided any Thread beyond his first Score. Maybe that was all he'd needed to remind him to save his hide.

N'mol and Bronze Tyeth HP: 71 Dmg Mod/Agility: -3 Thread Burned: 3+5=8 Scored: No Current Thread: 50/108
No deaths yet, Tyeth relayed to N'mol. Two have returned to Benden with serious scoring. Microth reports minor scoring to her and Hers. Firestone shortages reported in the majority of the wing.
Contact the weyr. Have them send the Weyrlings. Make sure the other wings aren't doing it at the same time, though. We don't need to let anything through during the exchange from carelessness. N'mol tilted with Tyeth as his Bronze safely charred Thread that could have seriously maimed someone behind them, had it gotten through. Tyeth then skillfully maneuvered around a smaller clump, alerting the Brown behind him.
They are on their way.

B'nas and Brown Milnth HP: 53 Dmg Mod/Agility: +2 Thread Burned: 6 (previous roll 2) Current Thread: 40/108
Time slowed as B'nas saw a tangle heading for them, there was no time to move or go Between to avoid it... Then there was a blast of flame and the Thread was charred, B'nas recognised his Wingleader and nodded to him "Milnth thank Wingleader N'mol for me" he asked of his handsome Brown, both of them likely have just been saved from perishing this fall thanks to the young man. All at once B'nas lost any annoyance he had with the younger man being picked as Wingleader and his respect for N'mol just rose.
"Mine thanks Yours Tyeth, please pass it along to Yours" said the Brown, turning and moving towards another thick tangle, turning his head to accept more firestone from B'nas, chewsing it quickly so he could flame productively and not waste any. He'd caught the tail end of Tyeth requesting firestone and he wanted to be sure he didn't add to the strain. They would all learn how to no waste their flame... but that took time and practice.

B'nas and Brown Milnth HP: 46 Dmg Mod/Agility: +2 Thread Burned: 10 (previous rolls 2, 6) Current Thread: 40/108
It was well that Milnth held his flame strongly, he managed to rid the sky of a very large clump. Milnth was pleased with himself until he was forced to turn to avoid getting badly hurt by more Thread that twisted in the wind from another dragon's wingbeats, heading straight for B'nas. Milnth was not about to let his rider get hurt if he could help it. The thread however, caught B'nas across the leg, catching Milnth too. They went Between quickly to remove the dreaded enemy. B'nas felt the tightness of his wound and knew he'd have troubles when they landed. It was just lucky that the air of Benden wasn't as hot as the air in the 'new' Weyrs.

N'mol and Bronze Tyeth HP: 71 Dmg Mod/Agility: -3 Thread Burned: 7+5=12 Scored: No Current Thread: 28/108
Milnth and his thank us for the warning, Tyeth relayed as he directed his flame above them to avoid a catastrophic scoring.
Before N'mol could reply, a brisk wind hit them suddenly. N'mol instinctively looked up, remembering his Weyrling lessons that seemed to have happened Turns ago. Sure enough, a clump of Thread was blown away from the flame aimed at it and fell back toward the Dawn Fliers' Wingleader. N'mol warned his Bronze of the Thread shortly, his eyes fixed on it, keeping an eye out for any other sudden changes in wind.
Tyeth popped between and then back again, easily avoiding the Thread. He was flaming again shortly after reappearing, determined not to let another clump get through.

F'law and Blue Zurith
HP: 45 Agility: +1
Zurith beat his wings with determination. He rose up toward a clump of Thread and gave a mighty flame. Mindful of his rider, the blue side slipped the stream of ash. Mine firestone has been ordered, and I need more.
F'law clutched the straps. He knew he was sticking with Zurith alright. At least the blue hadn't decided to do a wingover they'd been forced to practice. He nodded. Sitting up he fed several large pieces to the head that turned back to him. He'd also have to do the change over. F'law glanced around for the weyrling that would be coming to him.

Dezima and Green Microth
Agility: +2 Damage taken: None HP: 28 Current Thread: 16/108
----------
Microth hissed at the brown and his rider when they drew alongside them. More out of surprise at seeing the brown dragon and making sure he knew he was lucky she hadn't thought it was Thread slithering beside them. There was an indignant snort sent their way as the green angled slightly away to give them both flying space. But the rider's words still stung almost as much as the initial scoring she'd received had.
Where Microth couldn't bring herself to say anything, Dezima didn't feel the same. Although she lacked the indignant feelings Microth did. "We're doing our best." She shot back, but there was not anger in it. Only strained tones of one who was speaking truth and feeling guilty about the fact her dragon had been scored twice.
I am sorry, Dezimine. And I need more firestone. The soothing voice was a little less snappy, as Microth turned to receive more firestone from her rider. She chewed and swallowed, beating her wings to flame down a smaller patch of Thread one of the larger dragons had missed.

N'mol and Bronze Tyeth HP: 71 Dmg Mod/Agility: -3 Thread Burned: 5+5=10 Scored: No Current Thread: 6/108
N'mol and Tyeth wheeled away from the Weyrling who had just switched out their firestone. The Fall continued for a solid half-hour more before it finally looked as if the Thread was slackening. N'mol was still on his guard, being unfamiliar with the pattern of Fall and not willing to let his guard down and risk Tyeth being further injured. They had been lucky to come away as unscathed as they were so far.
Tyeth successfully seared another few scattered smatterings of Thread, noticing the same slowing of the fall as his rider. Jaleth says it is beginning to wane. The Fall will soon be over, he confirmed.
Let everyone know to stay sharp until the very end. The last thing we need is a few Thread slipping through to burrow below.
Of course they will stay sharp, mine. We will not let them do otherwise. He delivered the warning anyway and N'mol was pleased to see his wing still brightening the sky with flame as strong and bright as Tyeth's own. Yet, despite all that, he didn't feel confident; he didn't think he would feel confident for several Falls yet, if ever. All he felt was the same tight nerves and stomach, the same intense focus, as he had all Fall.

(Brumath
Agility: 0 + 2 (timerider) = 2 HP: 55 + 5 (timerider) = 49/55)Dragons past, riders past, everlasting pain? Red blood flows as red star burns. We tiny creatures make twists and turns. It comes for us all, the beautiful death of silver shine. Strive and flame and fly and fight, 'til we run out of time. Do you hear it in the roar of the flame? Do you hear the silence? The silence between the fire. There lies the silence of our stilled hearts.>

Congratulations, riders! Thread has been vanquished over Benden! It seemed very sudden that the Thread was gone entirely. N'mol turned in his seat, scanning the skies as he knew other riders and dragons were doing, searching for even a single piece of Thread remaining. He saw nothing, only the pale blue, faintly cloud-fogged sky. Sensing Tyeth waiting on him from the rumble Tyeth let loose to nudge his rider along, N'mol turned his attention back to the matters at hand. Instruct everyone to return to their proper places in formation. Perform a final check for any losses and injured who had to return to the weyr. There will be enough minor injuries that I don't think we need to check on them right now. N'mol would make rounds later, as everyone was being patched up, or after they had been seen to. And instruct any serious injuries who have not yet returned to report and then immediately do so.All dragon and rider pairs are to stay in formation. Report numbers lost and any major injuries where dragons were forced to return to Benden. Minor injuries will be seen to upon our return. Any dragon or rider pair that has been seriously injured and has yet to return to Benden should speak up now and then report immediately to the healers. Do not wait for further instructions. Dragon or riders found to have left without serious injury will receive comparable punishment.N'mol waited as Tyeth delivered the message and saw two dragons shortly thereafter wink out, presumably to return to Benden. He hadn't instructed Tyeth to include that last bit, but it was a valid point. He would have no slackers or free-riders in his wing. However, if the number of his wingriders still in there air said anything, there were few to none of those types in his wing, which was more to the better for him.

It was strange how there suddenly just didn't seem to be any more clumps of Thread to flame. They'd gotten their last clump as Microth maneuvered them up to a height that allowed her to stretch her wings wide and slow their pace. Dezima still felt her heart pounding, but even she couldn't spot any shimmers of Thread. Still, the greenrider kept glancing around, afraid to let her guard down.
"I...I think we did it..." She murmured quietly towards Microth. Her grip on the riding straps loosened as she felt the rigid muscles beneath her begin to relax slightly.
Tyeth speaks. The green informed her rider quietly, listening to what their Wingleader had to say. They want everyone to return to formation and report injuries. And those with serious injury to return home.
'Best do what they say. Let's get back in formation. I don't think...I mean, are you sure you're alright, Microth?'
Microth snorted and gave her wings a few good strong strokes upward before they easily fell back into formation. There was less red-orange in her eyes as she found her place, tilting her head enough to glance back at her rider. I am fine, Dezimine. But you were hurt too.
'It was only a little score. Inform Tyeth we are still good and strong to fly.'
The green obliged her rider, letting her sweet voice reach out to the bronze dragon once again. Mine and I are still fit to fly. We both have mild scoring, but nothing serious. We are unsure as to how many were seriously injured however. Perhaps a few, the green thought.
