"I would be flattered to escort you to the Knight's Quarters, m'lady. I must first retrieve something that I came for though" Ewan responded courteously. M'lady? Flattered? The words sounded surreal coming from him of all people. Azen's presence made him feel competitive and he didn't enjoy it. Perhaps he'd have to try and snog Alyss before he left the kitchen. Women in armor were always unpredictable though, as he had experienced many times before. He'd have to tread carefully to avoid loosing a valued limb.
Head of the Stormcloud family from the East. I am Azen Stormcloud, son of Lann Stormcloud. And you are? The knight's words were part of a common introduction, but the high authority he held from his families status added fear to Ewan's mix of new found emotions. The Stormcloud's were one of many prestigious families Ewan had encountered during his extensive travels, honorable to those with high class and fair to others willing to identify their rank as what it was. Lower. Ewan, unfortunately, had never been very good at staying in the bounds of his class, but found any conflict he had ever come across could be solved with a bottle of mead and voluptuous women. Therein lied the problem with the Stormclouds, they rarely drank.
"My name is Ewan Lillie- skilled physician to the royal family, hailing from Mirewood," he said with as much conviction as possible. He always believed he was protected during trifles with nobility because of his occupation, but the newcomer from the East may not share the same opinion. Ewan had never understood Finvara's resentment toward nobles until now.

Azen Stormcloud Knight
"Physician? And skilled at that. You, sir, are a vital part of the Royal family's workforce." commented the knight. It's true. Who would govern the well-being of the Royal family if the Physician wasn't around? The field of medicine is a rather difficult area of expertise, and Azen held respect to those who are taking it's path or have mastered it. Of course, the men of the East rarely involved themselves with the degrading actions other people commit themselves into, such as excessive drinking, gambling, random duels, bar fights, ravaging women, etc. However, they do have tight competition over who is the better man/woman, and often they find themselves settling the matter by a killing contest; the one who kills more than the other, wins. The Stormcloud family had been a healthy line for generations upon generations and found little need for a physician. Azen holds his beliefs as he had witnessed the skill of a physician during his father's last hour.
Azen was going to continue conversing with Ewan until he heard the Lady Knight speak, and he gave a little nod to Ewan, "We shall have time to speak again later. For now, your lady awaits." said Azen.

Ewan grimaced. Hating Azen was going to be more difficult than he thought. Not only did the knight compliment Ewan's practice, but also avoided the oppurtinity to declare authority over him. Had they met under different circumstances, a friendship could have evolved despite their drastically different lifestyles. Unfortunately, Anzen stumbled across the one person Ewan wanted and telling Finvara his feelings now would only be taken as a desperate attempt to gain possession over someone whose heart he had never owned. No matter what sentence he tried to form in responce to Azen, none came without a tinge of jealousy or anger. He'd have to speak with Finvara later to determine just how much the knight was having an influence over her.
"May your armor be impenetrable and difficult to take off," Ewan said cooley, nodding in Azen's direction before scooping up the aloe vera plant still sitting in the same location he had left it hours before and following Alyss into the hallways. If he couldn't win over Finvara, he could at least win over the female knight. He rounded the quarter but found Alyss already out of sight and himself too drained to run after her. In truth, Ewan wasn''t fully invested in courting a lady at the moment. At least when knowing Azen was in the same room with Finvara.
Ewan eyed the plant he had collected reluctantly. He had promised Andrew the medicine by tonight, but all he really needed was a bit of water and crushing basin. Surely a pub would have that, right? He gently settled the plant inside his bag along with the other leaves he had collected earlier that day and withdrew his pouch of coins. The small sack was lighter than usual, but the castle paid him well for his occupation and nightly endevours. With no definite woman to share his bed that night, Ewan was reaching a critical time to procure some lady at least somewhere near his age. No better place to hunt than a bar. "

Finvara was holding in fits of laughter during the entire conversation. Between Alyss's declaration of independence, Ewan's bout of jealousy, which still confused Finvara, and Azen's cool, calm, and collected composure, the kitchen had practically turned into a dinner theatre. All the while, she worked swiftly and smoothly, her hands practically made for her craft.
Her long, red curls fell down to her waist, swaying this way and that as she worked. She didn't like to put it up or cut it. It was the only physical feature she prided herself in. She turned around to place a tray of tarts on the table that was to go out to the dining room and glanced up at Azen who was looking at her. And she realized the other two had gone. She held back a blush continuing to the table before she spoke. "Welcome to my life," she said with a laugh, referring to all the commotion that had just happened. "And don't worry about, Ewan. Every lady in the Kingdom is "his," so every man is obviously going to be a threat."
