 Hotaru smirked as Sesshomaru stepped to the side. She watched the neko back up a step before holding his weapon out before him. "I'll kill you now b***h." Hotaru allowed a deadly smirk to appear. "Try me." As he attacked, Hotaru twitched her hand and sword of shadow appeared in her hand. Bringing it up, she held off his blade. "Too slow." Whirling, she used the dull edge of her blade to shove him back. She was going to make him pay for what he had done. She watched him clutch his chest. "Don't worry, the pain will only last until a miko heals you." There was dark humor in her voice as she said this. Leaping forward, she used her claws to slice across his face before she flipped over him and sliced her claws down his back. She also used the blade to create a cut on his back. She wanted to make sure he would be in pain. The neko stumbled to his knees in agony. Finally, she changed the blade. Forming a small ball, she moved in front of him. "This is for the child you harmed in one of my villages." "Kill me then." Hotaru chuckled darkly and leaned close to his ears. "Oh no, you will not die but you will wish it." With that she covered his mouth with the hand that had the ball of shadow energy and she forced it down his throat. The neko let out a scream of agony. The shadow energy would stay within his body, eating away his insides and yet not killing him. As a youkai he would heal the damage instantly. Hotaru turned to where the brat was and allowed the binds to come undone. He staggered, unable to see. "Go back to your father. I will take back my lands. If he attacks any of the villages, I will personally ensure that his soldiers suffer the same fate as this one." She motioned to the leader.

Sesshomaru saw the prince run to one side of the village where stood a signal fire...the prince lighted it and gave a laugh...Sesshomaru ignored him and flew up to see soldiers mobilizing and approaching..they were humans working for the Neko..they were heading in line...Sesshomaru landed and looked over to Hotaru...the soldiers were still quite a ways off...seeing the prince pick up a axe ...and preparing to throw it at her...Sesshomaru saw her still busy with torturing the leader....but was too far to help her

As the axe was thrown, Hotaru whirled and knocked it back towards the brat. The axe wound up imbedding itself into his chest. Her eyes glinted. "Silly boy." Knowing that the leader was incapable of fighting, she doused the flame. Turning, she moved into the village. "Lady Mina, take everyone to the cliff now. Send runners to the nearby villages. Send word that Lady Hotaru orders all women, children and elders be sent to their safe places. All men who wish to fight must stand and protect our land. Send the messengers to human and youkai alike." otaru's voice was sad. She had hoped that she would have been able to finish her fight privately with the b*****d. It was not to be. They had been waiting for the signal. Hotaru watched Mina nod. Almost immediately, Shikigami formed around Mina. They were small white birds. They immediately took to the sky, unseen. The remaining humans, fled to the cliffs but for a group of men. There were even a couple of women standing there. Hotaru found a warm smile come to her lips. She approved of women standing for themselves. Looking up at Sesshomaru briefly, Hotaru closed her eyes. Turning, she felt her control fade away for the moment. When they came, she had no doubt that it would return. Moving to the broken down hut, she sat down, sighing softly.

Sesshomaru looked to Lady Mina.."Stop..don't waste your time..give me one blow.."...the Lady didn't disobey him...even if he wasn't in his lands...he was still a warlord...a man who lived and was named after the art of war..."After this my debt for the sword is complete.." he said as he flew to the edge of the village...and grabbed Sounga...it gave a purple glow as he held it to the sky...creating a black sphere that began to draw in wind and form a dragon..."Dragon twister!" his voice boomed as the tornado of lightning and pure devastation made its way down the line wiping out the entire army and tearing up the landscape...Sesshomaru was almost completely drained...a attack of that magnitude was ten times the size of a normal dragon twister...causing Sesshomaru to collapse after just sheathing the sword...

Hotaru nodded in answer to Sesshomaru's remark. Even though she still owed him a life debt. She would allow him to claim it at a later date. She watched him rise up and swing Soounga. When it was complete, she saw him land and then collapse. Moving to his side, she knelt by him. "Thank you Lord Sesshomaru. It is now my turn to repay my life debt." Placing her hands on his body, she bit her bottom lip. Mina instantly knew what she planned. "My Lady, no!" Hotaru shook her head. "I must." Calling on her heritage, a pink glow began to form on her hands. The healing power of a miko surged forth. Instantly, her body began to burn. Fighting back that wave of dizziness and pain, she focused solely on healing him. It would not give him his complete energy back but it would give him enough. It would also heal his arm. That was her repayment. The glow covered his body, not harming him whatsoever which was odd for someone who could use miko power. In a flash of pink light, his arm was whole once more. It was at that moment that Hiro returned. He darted over, growling angrily at her. Before he could lecture her, Hotaru gasped and fell back. Her arms and hands were covered in blisters. It looked as if she had been cooking for hours in the blaze of miko energy. Gasping for breath, Hotaru managed to drag herself over to the fallen hut. Resting against it, she breathed softly. It would take her a couple hours to heal. She knew that the brats father would have gone into hiding. The servants would have taken over the complex to ensure that no one could get in or out. Many of the servants were in fact her father's men that had gone into hiding. Her home would be safe for a couple of hours at least. "Thank you Lord Sesshomaru..." Her voice was soft, innocent once more. Nothing would heal this since it had come from within her own body. Not even Tensaiga would be able to. She would have to survive the pain. Hiro growled at her before taking off. Usually fresh blood helped to ease the pain. Hiro warned her not to move and then told her he was going to get fresh blood. Hotaru nodded and closed her eyes. She wasn't asleep, just resting. The villagers wisely moved away into the forest to leave Hotaru alone, knowing she needed it. They knew how uncomfortable she was drinking fresh blood.

Sesshomaru got to his feet and walked away...the connection and debt done..and now with Sounga and his new arm...he was more then ready to further his plans of conquest...he stopped for a minute near Hotaru..."From this point forward I don't want to ever see you again..if I do...I'll kill you without a moment of hesitation..." he said breaking every connection with the youkai...and reverting back to his previous self...he walked slowly ..still getting his energy back...but he saw the girl's body..the one that died...and as a final act..drew tenseiga and cut away the demons of the netherworld...moments later the girl got up...crying in her mothers hands...Sesshomaru sheathed his sword and walked off

Hotaru watched him change back. Disappointment filled her. Watching him walk off, she watched him bring to life a girl that had fallen. Perhaps there was some hope for him yet. As he left the small village, Hiro arrived herding a deer. He motioned for her to do the deed. Hotaru grimaced. Grabbing the deer, she sank her claws in it, killing it. She thanked the deer as she began to ingest the blood. She didn't enjoy it. As the blood flowed into her body, she could feel the burns easing. Once she was finished, she began to cook the meat. Once it was done, she ate the deer. Resting back against the broken hut, she closed her eyes to wait for the last of the burns to sunside. Once it was done, she would hunt down the final obstacle, kill him and take over her land. Mina had gone ahead and sent out the news to the other villages.

Hotaru gazed at her childhood home. It was hers. Her gaze moved to the Western Lands. He said he would kill her if he saw her again but there was something... wrong. Something within her was alerting her to a danger. Looking to Hiro, she narrowed her gaze on him. "What happened when I was passed out?" The wolf looked offended. 'I took you and followed after Sesshomaru.' "Where was he?" 'He was located in the belly of Mt. Hakurei.' Hotaru froze. She knew the stories of the creature sealed there. "What did he do there?" Hiro looked at her in puzzlement. Hiro did not know of the creature because he never bothered with keeping track of the politics. Her voice was soft and dangerous. 'He released a Daiyoukai called Takahashi.' Hotaru whirled to the west. The expression on her face was furious. Sesshomaru had no idea what he had done. The fool. "You will stay here Hiro and renew the manor. I must go." In an instant, she transformed into a large white dog and took off towards the west. She was going to find the one person that had the weapon that was the only weapon around that could seal him. She would find Inu Taisho's half demon son and seek to request help from him. She just hoped he had gained control over the sword. That would be the only way that he could even hope to succeed.

She had arrived about an hour before. She had immediately gone into the Shadow Realm to alert her servants. They had been almost curious. It had been years since they had actually come across a half breed or a human. Hotaru was one thing if not sure of her staff. She have a very small staff that ran her manor in the Shadow Realm. The reason being was her grandfather had married a human turned youkai. He had weeded out all youkai that would have a problem with hanyou's or humans. Her grandmother had had a similiar trait to hanyous. Once a month, she would become human. Her human night had been the night of the full moon. She had no fear about her staff attacking. Her father had doubled the security as well when he was lord. He had ordered a group of 100 youkai trained in the arts of Shadow and any other magic as well as perfecting their own abilities as a youkai. One on one, they wouldn't be able to stand against Takahashi. As a group, there was a greater chance. The greatest advantage her small piece of land had was the fact that they had an artifact passed down from the Kami's themselves. It was a sword that was buried deep within the fortress. It disallowed any magic to be perform within the vicinity of the land unless they had shared blood with the youkai line of her family. It was a null point that stretched at least 1000 miles out from the center. That was the extent of her land in the Shadow Realm. Every single one of the elite had shared blood with her father. She had shared blood with them as well. If any of them betrayed her in the slightest way, they would die and the connection to the land would be lost. Her little piece of land was truly a haven in the Shadow Realm. Not to mention, every single servant had a grudge against Takahashi. Moving to her bed, she saw Hiro. "Hiro, I need you to go to the west and lead Inu Taisho's hanyou son and the people with him here." Her tone brooked no argument. He bowed his head in acknowledgement before disappearing out the door. Moving to the bed, Hotaru dozed off, her dreams filled with Sesshomaru by her beast.

Hiro barely gotten outside before he jumped aside..as a light crashed into the ground where he once stood...the people came out but immediately went back inside when seeing the Warlord of the West as he emerged from the explosion..."Hiro..the mistress wishes to speak..I presume" he had a feeling she wanted to say something to him after their last encounter...he sensed her beast side growing more and more restless

Hiro eyed Sesshomaru warily. Barking back toward the manor, a young woman rushed out and bowed. "My Lord, please come in, I will awaken Lady Hotaru." Ushering Sesshomaru inside to Hotaru's study, she bowed before leaving him and rushing upstairs. Hiro hesitated only momentarily before taking off. His Lady would be upset with him if he remained to watch over her. Sliding into the trees, he took off.
Hotaru shot up, her claws clenching her bedding as she heard the pounding. Wrapping herself in a robe, she opened the door. "My Lady... Lord Sesshomaru... Study..." The girl was out of breath. Pushing past the girl, Hotaru moved with irritation to the study. Sliding open the door, she first ensured her robe was secured before stepping in. She was in her own home and if Sesshomaru wanted to show up in the dead of night, he would deal. She was irritated enough with him as it was. "What brings you to my home at this hour Lord Sesshomaru?" Her beast was more active than usual and she was having difficulty silencing it. Every so often, her eyes would flash black. She could smell the scent of a human woman on him as well. Thinking nothing of it, she moved to her desk. He had probably killed the girl or something.

Sesshomaru watched her come in...he saw her eyes change every so often..."I have come to give you something....my father entrusted it to your family and I've come to return it..." he said placing Sounga on the table...it was a difficult decision but he had learned this sort of power cannot be used to protect someone...seeing that it is a demon itself seeks nothing but blood...this power was beneath him

Eying the weapon, Hotaru glanced up at Sesshomaru in thought. What was his purpose in doing this. Moving forward, her hands began to blister as she called on her miko power. Lifting the weapon, she felt the demon within surging. When it came into contact with her miko power, it died down. The weapon began to glow and began to become almost transparent. The sword this moved to her body, shrinking as it did so. She felt it latch onto the chain around her waist. She refused to take the chain off considering what rested on it. She couldn't chance allowing these artifacts to fall into the wrong hands. "You return the sword and yet you wished from the beginning to claim its power for your own. Why did you change your mind Sesshomaru?" She watched him carefully. She seated herself and motioned to a seat as well although she doubted that he would take it. She could smell tea being brought to the room. "Enter." Immediately the young youkai from before entered and set a tea tray on the desk before leaving. Once they were alone, Hotaru poured the tea regally and waited for her answer.

Sesshomaru calmly replied, "I don't need it...the power that it offers is raw hatred...such power is beneath me...I cannot protect...." he paused at that note as Tenseiga pulsed...what was he saying he protected nothing...he tensed and thought to himself...the Sounga was a risk to all those who were with him...he was stronger then to rely on such an object

Hotaru couldn't help the chuckle. "You've told me before that you don't protect anything Sesshomaru. I can think of only one thing that would change the heart of a youkai such as you. You have a child. The child is female, otherwise you would feel no need to protect it. My question is why do you insist on searching to claim more power when all you have to do is protect her and admit to it and you would receive a power that cannot be defeated. Your half brother protects and he has claimed a power that most hanyous would not be able to harness." Taking a sip of her tea after pouring Sesshomaru a cup, she folded her hands under her chin, looking up at Sesshomaru. The top portion of her robe fell open to reveal creamy skin and a nightgown. On her right shoulder was a black crescent moon that was passed down from her human family. It was a birthmark that all females on that side carried. Reaching up, she untied her hair, irritated with it being up, having tied it up before coming. Her hair fell over her shoulders caressingly in waves. Hotaru's voice became husky as her beast slowly blended with her. "What do you truly want Sesshomaru? As Soounga has been returned, I am required to give something to you. It is the matter of our previous agreement. What do you really want?" Lifting her tea, she sipped. He confused her. What did he really want?
