Woooah. Star hadn't been kidding about his life changing, had he? How the mighty had fallen. KO accepted the coat with a smirk. "No worries Herr Commandant, I'll be careful." Much more careful than the idiot had apparently been with himself. Humm, well, it was a nasty scorch, the whole panel would need replacing which would necessitate finding fabric shops, decent ones that carried more than one shade of grey. This was absolutely fine by him, he needed to replenish his own supplies of, well, everything basically. Pattern slopers.
Looking back up at Arcadie KO cracked another grin. "I think I like you," he commented, setting Star's coat and hiw own new uniform down carefully on the bed next to the spindly man before starting to unbutton his waistcoat. Just how far would he get, he wondered, before Star flipped out and started screeching?

At Arcadie's sarcastic response Star sighed and rolled his eyes. "Fine just.. be careful." He winced occasionally as she cleaned the wound.
He seemed to notice what KO was up to almost instantly and lifted his head, looking vaguely alarmed, "What are you doing?"

Arcadie watched out of the corner of her eyes as KO handled the damaged coat. She'd gathered from the dialogue thus far that he had some knowledge of sewing, but could someone really fix burned clothes like that? They were burned. Even if you patched whatever holes had been made, the fabric itself would be discolored from the scorches. She couldn't really fathom it at all, but then she was much more better versed in patching people than clothing, so who knew?
Something else to watch out of the corner of her eyes was the fact that the Captain was indeed acting on her sketchy suggestion to go ahead and change. Not that she minded - she'd taken enough anatomy classes that she wouldn't be so shaken by as little as someone changing clothes - and like she'd thought earlier: appreciation of fine art. She tried not to let her diverted attention show too evidently as she applied an antibiotic cream intended for burns and dutifully wrapped the gauze.

"Humm?" KO paused in the act of reaching for the buttons on his shirt, having just shrugged out of his waistcoat and set it neatly on the bed. "I was just going to try on my uniform, Star, find out exactly how badly it fits... that's not a problem, is it?" Definitely alarmed, thoroughly amusing. "I can stand behind you if you prefer, or if it's really a problem I can do it later."

Star blinked a moment, then gave KO a warning glance that clearly said 'you'd better just leave it at changing and not start running around naked to impress this girl...'
He huffed and turned his eyes forward again. "That won't be necessary..."

Damn straight it wasn't problem. More like, it would be a problem if he stopped now and put that waistcoat back on. Not that the waistcoat wasn't sharp in its own right, but at this point it would just be unfair.
"Well, that aside," not really aside, per se, but it was impolite to gawk, "basic burn upkeep and all that. Make sure to stretch and stuff as it starts healing so the skin doesn't heal all stiff and taut. If it blisters, leave it well enough alone. Simple stuff, not much to remember." She shrugged, still smiling her sunshine smile. "Long as you're here, anything else? That one bullet wound healing well enough? And this whatever-this-thing-is here?" She indicated the bandaging on his upper arm, tapping it briefly with a light finger tip. Arcadie was pretty good, she felt, at putting on the standard airs of any good nurse.

KO gave Star a pleasant grin and unbuttoned his shirt the rest of the way. Honestly he hadn't been planning on trying out his uniform in front of a stranger, but hey, if it made Star uncomfortable it was not a chance to be missed. "I could use your opinions," he said casually as he pulled off his boots and undid his belt. "I can't imagine there are too many full length mirrors around to check out what it looks like from behind."
KO then removed his trousers, and spent a few moments standing around in nothing but a rather brief pair of black boxer briefs in order to fold up his own clothes. "I suppose there's not point putting it off anymore," he commented once everything was lying neatly on the bed. His casual air not changing in the least despite his state of undress KO picked up the trainee uniform, studied it, sighed, and put it on.
The cloth was a lot rougher than he was used to.
The legs and sleeves were a bit long.
It was far too baggy.
KO pulled a face usually reserved for the realization that you've trodden barefoot in what the Growlithe left behind. "I'm not even sure I want to know what I look like," he said in slightly martyred tones. At least the red of the bulk of the uniform didn't clash with his hair, but sadly the R did. The R clashed with the uniform itself, come to that.

Star listened to Arcadie tell him how to take care of the burn and nodded vaguely. When she mentioned the bullet wound he shook his head. When she went near the bandage on his arm he tensed and clasped a protective hand over it in a way that suggested it didn't hurt so much as he didn't want her touching it, "No it's fine." He said urgently.
He did his best to ignore KO undressing beside them. He had no plans to evaluate what the uniform did for his backside.

"Ooh?" She withdrew her finger from the vicinity of Star's bandaged arm, staring at his expression for a few long moments with an uncharacteristically unexpressive face. Slow, she extended her finger again, distinctly not touching the bandage in question, instead tracing said finger in little circles around the area. "That's not how people react to things that are fine." Her grin returned.
Young women were raised to be modest and polite from a young age, taught never to expose themselves or watch as others did so. It was a criminal's privilege, though, to enjoy the view if a good-looking individual just so happened to strip in the immediate area. That said, Arcadie tried not to be too blatant about it, but the smile on her lips was telling.
"It's... unfortunate," she offered when the space for an opinion arose. "If the waistcoat is sharp, this is just... blunt. About as blunt as a damp sock, really." She shook her head sadly.

"Ugh." KO started stripping off again, because a) he could b) it made Star uncomfortable and c) he didn't want to wear the horrible uniform anymore. "Well that's getting adjusted before I put it back on," he said as he started to don his own clothes. "I don't suppose you know where I might find a sewing machine around here?" he asked of either party present, expecting nothing of the skinny one. "I need to work on Star's uniform too, and his coat once I can find fabric to match correctly... mmmh, might be best to replace both of those panels actually, something bought new matching the shade of the other one will fade over time where the other already has, or has faded differently...."
Talking to himself about sewing?
KO shrugged internally; this Arcadie girl could think he was weird if she wanted, it didn't worry him, but he didn't want to go on too much partially because doing so would be dull and partially because he didn't want to destroy the mystery of his magic with clothes.

Star was mostly ignoring KO as the other man undressed again and started rambling. He knew at least 50% of KO's behavior was purposed to annoy him and he wasn't in the mood for it.
He glared at Arcadie, tightening his hold on his bandaged arm as she playfully traced her finger around it. "I said it's fine." He repeated in a tone that came out more like a growl than speech, helped along by his unusual voice. "Are you done yet? I have other things to do than sit around half dressed all day."

"I have never seen a sewing machine in my life!" Arcadie proclaimed, placing her hands on her hips. "Least of all at a criminal headquarters. Can't say I know how you'd get your hands on one of those, but maybe if you ask around?" There was something whimsical and fantastic about the thought of altering, repairing, and creating attractive clothing with one's own hands, but Arcadie was immediately certain that she didn't have the patience or skill for it. This conclusion was aided by her knowledge of how much she adored shopping for clothes. Different means to the same end, really. Maybe the Captain would have some better opinions on her outfits than her stuffy old roommate, though. That would be a pleasant change of pace...
She smiled broadly at Star's grumbling. "Well I don't have other things to do than to stare at you half dressed, so if you go, then where does that leave me?" She put on a fake pout, laying it on complete with puppy eyes. Surely he could sympathize with puppy eyes. He was the original puppy, after all.

There had to be one somewhere on base, surely. Who mended uniforms when they got damaged? He would find out, and borrow their kit. Perhaps he'd even end up working there for a while; seemed like the kind of chore a trainee might be put to if they were capable....
It was nice to see somebody else teasing Star. Last time he'd seen the man people had been cowed by one glance from his sharp eyes, or a slight sneer on his thin lips. Commander Star had commanded fear... and Grunt Star barely warranted a grunt of acknowledgement should he start to throw a hissy fit. KO smirked and lent his weight on one hip again. "Surely you have a few minutes more to indulge us with a front row view of your sleek physique, Star? Where else could you have to rush off to? Surely they can't be sending you out to steal pokemon from more small children today?"

Star grit his teeth and released the protective hold on his arm in favor of climbing to his feet to loom over KO. It was easier to be intimidating while looking down on people. He'd perfected his imposing posture years ago at the original Team Galactic. In fact he remembered using it on KO more than once. Back then, when he mattered, it seemed quite effective.
"Watch it, Naos." The snarl he'd directed at Arcadie a few moments ago was still lingering in his voice. The brief cheerful attitude all his bragging in the lobby had stirred up was gone. "I may not be a commanding officer any more but I still outrank you. I'd advise you not to mock the jobs I'm doing now. By the time you've worked up to stealing pokémon from children I'll be running my own department."

Arcadie folded her arms loosely, leaning backwards against a counter and inclining her still smiling face to a side. "You two are such good friends," she teased, undermining sarcasm with what may as well have been a genuinely envying, if not slightly melodramatic, sigh.
