She chuckled. "Well. That's something Mother gave me now isn't it?" Iei wasss persistent.
Listening to his words she noticed how much of a young adult Yareha was still. They both had a lot of growing to do. She blink her bright blue eyes and understood. With a soft tone she lowered her ears against her nape. "Well. Did you learn from your mistakes dad? Ma always told me to learn from them. Well.. I .. I guess we are your mistake so you did." She giggled a bit.
"Who's the lady?" She tilted her head a bit. "If.. If she's not happy then it's obvious she loves you." She whispered to him. "I bet she's hurting because you didn't get to ask her. I'm sorry."

Latitare had to shake his head at Ime'kotek's sheer audacity. It spoke well for her character that she was so determined. And perhaps her rank was high enough that she could aim higher than a mere Guard...
Yareha had to admire his headstrong daughter. "Think about it Ime," he told her. "If you made a mistake, a big one, do you think you'd want your brother and sisters to know about it if you could avoid it?" Though this cub in particular might just be brazen enough to not care, it was the only relatable circumstance he could conceive for her. "I'm learning," he went on to say. "I'm still learning, even as I raise you. And I'll go on learning for the rest of my life." He opened his mouth to say that he wouldn't make the same mistake again but shut it abruptly. After all, that's what had happened with Ghazaala, wasn't it? The same mistake all over again, with another rogue who had come back to drop cubs on him.
"Anyway," he harumphed, trying to cover up his pause, "I'm not going to tell you the lady's name at this time. Because you're right, she's hurting too, and I want to give that injury a chance to heal. Besides, she's got cubs of her own to raise," Yareha concluded. Then he realized what he'd implied and hastily added "but they aren't your brothers and sisters. They have a different father."
