Rory laughed at her comment. "Yeah, well thank these", he held up his hands, "for the nose job that helped him get that way."
Pinkie looked at the sand underneath her hooves. [Well there's a couple that will. My Rory's friend's Pikachu will, when he's being nice.] Pinkie trotted slightly before racing of to start the game again.

Tambrey couldn't help but let a little laugh of her own out at that. "I /see/. Well, then. I'm assuming that you, uh, won those particular fights then? What were they over?" Maybe the 'pretty boy' had just been a really unpleasant person, but there were usually memorable reasons for hitting someone, she thought.
Pygi did rather find herself wanting to talk and learn more of what Pinkie was saying. The Pikachu who played when he 'was being nice' and pokemon usually not wanting to play... It was curious and she couldn't see a reason why that would happen to her new friend. A game of tag though, when one was 'it' and chasing a bat and a horse, even if one was a bird and could keep up, wasn't the ideal time to chat.

Rory chuckled slightly and turned to watch his pokemon run around with the new friends she seemed to have made. "You've seen my Ponyta right?" he asked, "Sixteen year old boys can be cruel when it comes to stuff like that."
Pinkie was having fun trying to keep away from Pygi. She had even gotten the Golbat to zigzag with her from up in the sky! The shadows they were casting were fun to watch.

Ah. Yes. Bright pink and all. "Well," Tambrey turned to follow Rory's gaze, watching the pokemon play, though spared a glance toward the scarf-clad Palu, still dozing with her things "I guess so. She's very pretty though... and 'm guessing a bit of a social butterfly? Looks like she's won over my two quick enough." Not that was was particularly hard, but still it was really nice to watch them play.
Pygi had been zipping this way and that, trying to catch either of them. The zigzag had been a good move and led the bird to shoot forwards between the pair, having to turn around to continue the chase. She was trying hard to catch the Ponyta now, to let Pinkie have another go at chasing, though the bat was doing his best to be a distraction too.

It made him feel glad to watch his pokemon make a couple friends. That used to be her favorite part of the contests, meeting all the new pokemon even if they would be her competition later on.
"She is that. She adores having some one to play with." It hurt his heart because he hadn't been able to bring her out or play with her himself since before the raid. Now people, his work, and most recently his injuries were keeping him from being the trainer he used to be.
Pinkie noticed the Pidgeotto coming after her and did her best to avoid being tagged by her. Being 'it' was fun but it was funner trying to evade being tagged.

The flying types were certainly enjoying the game with a new friend and rather hoped they'd see more of the pink Ponyta. While it might not have been rare to find pokemon who wanted to play, it could sometimes be rare to find a non-flying type who not only wanted to play tag with the fliers but could also keep up. The Pidgeotto stretched her wings, trying to brush the pink horse with her feathers but blown off course suddenly as Lasi swept past them both, zigzagging again. <>
Tambrey nodded slightly, smiling. It was good to hear, she thought, that the Ponyta was that sort of a pokemon. "Well... If ya need playmates, a lot of the time if 'm duty, mine just end up sitting in their balls 'r hanging around my room," though that ws less since the new room mate "and even when 'm not on duty, 't be nice to socialize a little more..." Plus, she had few questions regarding the Ponyta species; it definitely seemed a better and better idea to acquire one.

The fire horse felt the barest hint of wind against her coat and looked up as the pink Golbat flew past, knocking the Pidgeotto off course. Pinkie gave an almost laughing cry at the expression on her new friend's face and continued her evasion attempts.
"Thanks," Rory replied with a small smile, "she hasn't gotten the chance to get out too much since before the raid and I hate keeping her coped up in her ball all the time."
He had attempted to let her out in his room for a bit once he had been freed from the infirmary, but all he learned from that was that horses and limited space doesn't really work out too well.

The bird changed course, charging after the bat for a moment, but yet again overshot as the bat slowed and stopped. He then moved to fly along parallel to the running horse and, while Pygi was still recovering, offer a few brief words of a plan. <> His ever present grin was wide. Sure enough the the bird was soon moving up behind the pair.
Tambrey nodded. "Well, I can understand that- all pokemon seem t' like being out, but she's a runner 's well. So 'm guessing she takes a lot of space for exercise..?"

The Ponyta listened to her playmate's plan and grinned as best she could at him. She did her best to keep an eye on the bird and the second Pygi got close enough, she moved away from Lasi.
Rory nodded in agreement as he focused on the game going on between the three pokemon. "Oh yeah. She's not herself if she can't get out for a run and small spaces are not her friends."

Tambrey nodded again; that was about what she'd expected to hear. Ponyta were a species that were known for running on the plains after all. She made a mental note of how important outside training would be to such a pokemon. "She does seem happy t'day, out there." The grunt commented, then moved on to her next question. "Does she eat a lot?" Apparently Tam was very interested in the pony pokemon.
Lasi grinned and laughed hard as, after mirroring Pinkie and splitting off, he saw the bird pokemon shoot right between them just as planned. Of course, unfortunately, that left him rather vulnerably distracted as the Pidgeotto started to sweep back around.

Rory looked over at the female grunt curiously. First questions on her training, now questions about her food intake? "Not really," he said cautiously, "sometimes she eats more than others. Mostly when she's been out to exercise is when she eats the most."
Pinkie noticed the Pidgeotto start to sweep back around after Lasi. She quickly ran between them to keep the bird away from the bat.

Hm, well that made sense. Everyone got a bit hungry after exercise. She nodded a little. The grunt watched the pink Ponyta, trying to judge a good amount of food based on size. Well, she wasn't a Rapidash, so that cut down on the amount she was sure. Wait... "So... How long have you had her?" Tambrey inquired then. The colour of the pony pokemon was interesting- especially that balloon flank mark and she wondered about it. "Sorry, 'm asking a lot of questions; I kind of have a request..."
The bird was closing in on Lasi, getting ready to tag when all of a sudden there was Pinkie right in front of her! The Pidgeotto squawked and turned, chasing the Ponyta once again.

Rory turned his attention away from the pokemon and looked at his fellow grunt with his arms folded across his chest. Maybe it was all the time he spent around other contest trainers that made his suspicious when someone started asking a lot of questions about how he raised his pokemon. The only time he had people ask the kind of questions Tambrey was asking was when they tried to one up him.
Finding her next question a little easier to answer, he responded, "I've had her for nine years now."
At the mention of a request, he got curious, "What kind of request?"
Meanwhile the pink Ponyta let out a happy cry as she managed to distract the bird from her flying pink friend.

Tambrey, though she certainly wanted to be once or twice, was no contest trainer and she certainly had no wish to 'one up' anyone, though perhaps it might have sounded a familiar path until the point they'd reached. "Uh. See, I've been thinking about... getting a Ponyta. I've always kind 'f liked them but they're kind of hard t' catch and expensive usually. There w's one who carried me t' the hanger on that ship though and," She paused, aware of the folded arms and the scrutiny after all those questions "well, it'd be a useful pokemon. That one was intelligent, good natured... like Pinkie seems, though I'm not sure about 'playful' obviously... and a fire type. I'm kind of lacking in fire power... Er, in both senses of the word. Palu and Lasi are likely the strongest on my team right now, though Pygi's catching up with her mother pretty fast. Ponyta seem... 'strong' pretty much by nature, if that makes sense?" Another pause. "Sorry, 'm rambling... I kind of wanted t' ask if y'd consider letting me have some of Pinkie's DNA... or even better, maybe helping me in tryin' t' clone one? I'm pretty sure I might get access t' old machines if nothing else and I know we already have a Ponyta line for the whole 'commercial' side of things, so it'd not be a terrible hassle t' 'rent' a bio-tube in that line f'r a short time if I got permission... It'd help me get a better handle on our genetics programme f'r whenever 'm finally promoted t' a position that'll make me, uh, useful t' the department rather than, well, obviously you know; a beaker washer,,," Her rather long, rambling explanation finished, Tambrey fidgeted a bit as she waited for a reply.
Lasi took off after the pair, trying to catch up, while Pygi flew as hard as she could now, trying to 'n**' with her beak, gently at the Ponyta's tail, determined to try and tag.

Rory rolled the offer around in his head. She was wanting the DNA of his pokemon to experiment with and potentially create her own Ponyta. Or, at the very least, his help handling the machinery. It would be nice to get his hands dirty, so to speak, instead of constantly cleaning up after the experiments. Besides, if he helped her create or clone a pokemon, he would have the knowledge to eventually do it for himself. And if their work succeeded, it would look good when it came time for him to eventually be promoted.
As he thought more about it, a small smirk appeared on his face. His blue eyes glinted as he replied, "You've got the DNA and my help."
Pinkie tried to out run Pygi but she had caught up to her now. When the bird pokemon's beak 'nipped' at her tail, she let out a small yelp of a cry.
