She felt a sadness for him that his family seemed lost to the wind. She wasn't sure how she could handle the loss of any family member, even if she was so far away. Perhaps, she thought, she should start heading towards the firekin, to try and visit on the borders...perhaps that would sate her sadness.
At his suggestion, she offered him a smile.
"If I find a place, I could, that'd be nice...to know someone," feel safe around someone.
"She sand it was vast and green, a large stone structure within the middle, You should find it, the Pridelands...I think it was called. You'd be safe there, I believe they are very welcoming"

He hoped he had been able to lift her spirits a little with her suggestion. But it made him feel as if he should be grateful for his situation. If he had had all of his family at the Motoujamii with him being the only one outside of it...he imagined he might feel quite a lot like Nakama.
"You will find a place. I'm certain of it." He wasn't, but sometimes small white lies were better than the bleakness of truth.
"I know of that land." He continued, his eyes widening slightly. "Or...we were at the border, anyway. We just came from there. I...I hadn't thought of...looking further..."

He was traveling with someone?
Nakama gave a quick glance around but saw none other. Confusing. "That was where the gold ones were, she said. Perhaps you should return, and see what lies within? Perhaps that will be your safe haven, and become your home, Uddhava," she said with a smile. Besides, she could always find that place later, as it was so green she could not miss it if she passed by.
Nakama then stood, stretched and looked in the direction she believed the firekin lay. It had been so long, and truly, she had gone straight lines away from it.
Perhaps..it was time.
"I must be on my way Uddhava, but, I do hope we meet again, and that you travels are safe."

He did not miss her glance around, smiling a little at that. He wasn't sure whether she was just curious or maybe afraid. Well, she didn't need to worry, his friend Ruia was one of the friendliest lions he had ever met. He certainly would do her no harm.
"I...I think I might do that." He replied, grateful. "I...can only hope."
Ah, and here was where they were saying their goodbyes. He sort of hoped that they would meet again someday. "I hope you find your place in the world, Nakama. And...I will think of you. Maybe we will meet again someday."
He dipped his head. "Safe travels."
And there it was. A kinship built on a brief conversation. They were the same and they were different. And yet both of them sought a home where they could truly belong.
Suddenly he felt less alone.
