Remarque pursed his lips curiously and shrugged; he should have been paying more attention to Valhalla, but all he could think about was how interesting the male’s compass was. He didn’t want to part with it, though he had been holding onto it for a while. He lifted it to give it one final look over before he held it out to return.
“You’d probably be best to get the whole story from Ares. But I can say, long story short, the White Moon ******** over the parallel kingdom a long time ago. Ares holds a vendetta against the White Moon for that—and her previous court, the Blood Moon Court, for turning on her. She was given the opportunity to redeem herself, to follow a far more righteous course. So, she did. And brought the rest of us along for the ride. The White Moon is corrupt and misguided. I mean—what sort of world are you all fighting for? You’re all willing to fight—and die—for a woman you’ve never met. A woman who has never shown her face. A woman, who for all intensive purposes, abandoned you and left you to fend for yourselves. She offers no guidance, no protection. And yet, you all are willing to lay down your lives. You don’t know who she is, or what she wants. You just follow her, blindly. We? We want to expand. To expand, create, and thrive. We want a world where there are no injustices. The White Moon stands in our way because they are unwilling to relinquish the power they have obtained across the Universe. And yet—smashing good job the lot of you have done, this place is in shambles. No offense,” he clarified. “I’m just saying.”

"The Blood Moon Court turned on her?" he asked in surprise, staring at Remarque, taking his weapon back now that the other was finished looking at it. He shook his head, trying to piece together what he'd just been told and what others had told him as well.
"Ares... turned on the Blood Moon Court... She'd disappeared, and when she came back, she was different. She started corrupting people in the court. A few escaped and are now in hiding... It's not like the Blood Moon Court had that great of a reputation, anyway. They'd kidnapped and tortured and killed Negaverse officers," he shared since Remarque shared with him.
He did frown at the comment of fighting for a woman he'd never met. "You're talking about the same Moon Queen the Negaverse thinks we're looking for? You're wrong. Many of us have no desire to follow any Moon Queen and if she tried taking over, I know just as many who would rise up and rebel against her. I've never met her, I don't know who she is, but anyone who tries to oppress our human rights and free will? I won't stand for it," he declared, just as he had with Wolframite and Zinkenite.
"I want peace. That's all. I want the fighting to end and for us to find a way to come to terms with our differences in beliefs. I'd imagine that we'd be more civilized than they were in the Crusades, but it seems too much like history repeating itself, to me."

Remarque listened with interest; he had no reason to doubt anything Ares said, and whatever she claimed the Blood Moon Court had done, he was inclined to believe her. He could see no wrong in her actions, and Remarque was far more inclined to put his faith in Ares than a knight he suspected had nothing to do with the incident in the first place.
Any change that Ares had made was clearly for the better.
He made a mental note of the claims Valhalla made against the Blood Moon Court, though they were of little importance to him. He had met few of their members—among them only Sirius had not yet returned to fight at Ares’ side.
“True,” he mused at the end of Valhalla’s words. “But as long as there are people unwilling to discuss and negotiate, there will be fighting. Don’t get me wrong, I’m open to conversation. Talking things out would suit me just fine.”
Sort of. Remarque could only argue for so long before he got frustrated and had to put a hole in something. Or someone.
“Peace will come when everyone is cooperating…or dead. Though, it gives me hope for your lot.” He nodded approvingly in Valhalla’s direction. “That you would rebel if she tried to take over. I imagine there are far too many of you that would bend over backwards to worship your Moon Queen. Good to know that some of you do have brains. If she gets into power, it’s not just Chaos that’s screwed. I just don’t think there are that many people on your team that realize that. Might come back to bite you all in the a** one day. Especially if you spend all your time thinking about how evil we are while turning a blind eye to her.”

"Of course we'd rebel..." Valhalla frowned, although he figured he should speak for himself in that. But it seemed as if they had come to an agreement on certain things, or at least his words were humored enough. Either way, the squire had his weapon back and it didn't seem as though this Remarque person was that much of a threat... not now, at least.
"I don't want anyone to rule over anyone," he emphasized, shifting from one foot to the other and taking a small step back as if to encourage the end of their conversation with a peaceful exit. "As long as you're willing to talk, so am I," he agreed with a nod.
He hadn't known what to expect from such an encounter with a Dark Mirror senshi. The way Kallichore and Europa had explained things... the way Requiem had acted at the Surrounding... it was almost night and day.
Maybe there would be a chance for peace, after all.
"It was nice to meet you, Remarque..." he said with a small nod, hoping to be allowed to be on his way, and the DMS to do the same. After all, he didn't want a repeat of his run in with Painite...

Remarque could recognize Valhalla's attempt at exit and figured it was well warranted; they had spoken much, and he had much to think about. Not that any single knight had the potential to convince him to alter his ways or really believe that perhaps there was some middle ground for both Order and Chaos. The Dark Mirror Court was right. Ares was right.
He could only hope that one day, the order aligned senshi would realize the error of their loyalties, and that the knights would extract themselves from the situation all together.
"Of course, Valhalla. It was a pleasure. I'll see you around some time. I'd love to have another conversation with you, so you take care."
He lifted a hand to offer a slight, relatively unenthusiastic and dismissive wave before he turned.
