[!][ORP] The Open Den (Anyone Welcome!)

Just as she leaned in closer to hear more about the heirs and the ceremony that was supposedly taking place, the conversation had dropped back into talking about the more mundane things such as the quality of the food and drink these days. Edel, a little disappointed but unsurprised, got up and started to look for a drink, hoping that the beverages provided here were a little bit more appetizing. She would be disappointed however, as she neared the buckets of water only to find that it contain the oily concoction not unlike the water near the silty banks in the oasis.

The ghoul was about to take her leave when an all too familiar glint in the bucket caught her eye. Curious, the ghoul picked up the ladle and fished the object up, draining the water on the side of the bucket. True enough, it was indeed another of those Horsemen tokens.

And so the ghoul did what she had been doing with the rest of her lucky finds - pocketing it quickly for safe-keeping.

The Reaper ghoul found herself back in the den again, looking for something she was willing to eat. As she stared at the troughs of food, Famine horsemen came by, grabbing piles of it. She did her best to look between them, to find something that was plant and not living animal.

Finally she moved forward, thinking she'd seen something with no bugs in it. Before she could grab it, someone else scooped it up, but she now knew there were things she was willing to eat. It took her some time, but she finally managed to get a meal together and eat it.

She wouldn't miss the food here when she got home.

An older horseman sits on a table, if what appears to be vials set out. Moths flutter over his head as he reaches into his translucent stomach to pull out a few more vials. A younger horseman goes over to him, offering what looks to be the shells of beetles and scarabs in exchange for a vial the elder has. The clatter of bones and the ring of bells can be heard as they barter with each other before a sash is thrown in with the shells. As the exchange ends the horseman looks around, smiling a bit, tiny insect like mandibles exposed as he greets another horseman in passing. Going over, a vial of orange liquid is held up black flecks floating in it.
“It’s a special concoction. Helps one’s natural gifts.” He explains. “If you want it, trade with me.” A clatter of bone. “Impress me.” He says with a grin, a moth fluttering on his head.

Bulbous has appeared with a strange mixture and is willing to trade it with students for a price. Offer up Bulbous an article of clothing, (such as a sash, glasses, jacket, ect), a valuable trinket, or just something he’d not be able to get normally in exchange for the mixture. Then roll 1 d4 to determine what it does.

1- Your student feels really lucky. Just… they feel like they can do anything. They might be a little reckless. IC effect lasts 1 hour.

2- Your student gains a glow to their eyes, and if their eyes already glow, the light seems to come from every orifice now. Effect last 12 IC hours

3- Your student feels stronger! They experience enhanced strength to the point they’re breaking things if not careful. The IC effect lasts 3 hours

4- Your student feels like they suddenly understand the horsemen of famine more, the chimes of bells and bones seeming to just make sense. Gain one horseman point!

After wandering around outside, Mitzi was thirsty, and she headed to the den for something to drink. She didn't remember until after she was already there that instead of water, there was some of that oily substance from the oasis. Well, it was better than nothing, regardless. She found a cup and scooped some out, taking small sips in the hope that it would keep her from noticing the taste. It didn't work very well, unfortunately.

She took a look over the food available as she drank, but none of it really appealed to her. So she headed over to find a table, sitting down to finish her glass of whatever-this-liquid-was.

As she drank, she listened to some horsemen near her talking about the Heirs, and some ceremony that they apparently might be at. She really didn't have enough context to get anything useful out of it, though, so when she finished her drink she headed back out.
