This battle was so chaotic, she didn't know who was where or what attack to block next. In no time at all, she once more found herself on the ground having been hit from behind. Before she could get up, a hand threaded through her hair and yanked her head back, a dagger kissing the flesh of her throat.

Fear coursed through her, expecting the pan of death at any moment. Oddly, the man above her looked away, a surprised look on his face. The expression remained when one of her fellow members appeared and dispatched him in a very messy display.

"Thank you." Kemnebi said with a grin and a salute, turning and slicing the throat of an oncoming human herself.

Raziel had been thinking that the class this week was probably going to be about the same as the one before, only with a new teacher, some new classmates, and of course- a new subject. It was curious just how wrong he was. Everything began somewhat normally, if being taught by some stranger that could kill them if they wanted to was normal. But then the entire room they all stood in began to waver and shake and they were suddenly in another place entirely.

Looking around, everything seemed to change, even the clothes they were all wearing. All of this new information was a lot to process, a lot to think about and take in and decide what was going on. Raziel hadn't even really been listening to what was going on between the creatures that seemed to be in charge and have a clue what was happening. It wasn't until they were directed to pick up weapons and he was jostled by some of the other students that he snapped out of his trance-like state.

He walked over toward the wall of weaponry and shuffled a few pieces around a bit. At first he picked up two daggers, holding one in each of his hands, but then spotting something glinting in the sunlight, he dropped them and went for the shiny thing. The shiny thing that Raziel picked up was a scimitar, a larger knife, much like a sword, but with a distinctly different shape. He tested it out a bit before following the crowd to their next destination.

Upon reaching the crest of the hill, Raziel saw the thousands of humans just below. It wasn't long before the fighting broke out and Raziel was thrown into fighting in the fray as well.

Raziel stormed into the crowd of milling bodies, slashing left and right, but trying his best not to stay put long enough for someone to slash back at him. This was the most ill conceived plan that he had ever come up with. It wasn't long before a human saw him coming and was ready to block the monster's attack.

Thus began their struggle to gain the upper hand over the other. The human was taller than Raziel and had obviously had more combat training than he had. It wasn't long before the human was beating Raziel and the outlook was bleak.

Luckily for the blue boil, one of the other students came up out of nowhere and clawed the head off of the human. Gasping for air, Raziel got up to continue the fight, still somewhat dazed from the previous sight, his heart pounding in his chest.

Kemnebi whirled, slicing at openings, trying to jump back from attacks, blocking the ones she could. But she was tiring. So many humans and they just. Kept. Coming. At any one time she had to be outnumbered three to one.

Hearing a sound behind her, Kemnebi turned and brought her daggers up in an effective block. She was so tired though and the force of the blow took her to one knee. She wasn't going to last much longer. She could feel herself start to fade from consciousness and once she did that, she was a dead duck.

Incredibly, a song floated past her ear. It was soothing and, even odder, revitalizing. A healing chant, perhaps? Feeling much better, Kemnebi forced herself up and her attacker back, throwing him off balance while she landed a killing blow.

Kemnebi found herself on top of a small hill, unsure if it was made up of dirt or bodies since everything was dyed a bright red from all the bloodshed. Two humans lay at her feet, another was coming at her as she tried to breathe through the pain of her wounds. Her light grey clothing was completely soaked through and more of a rusty brown color now.

Crouching, the girl dodged her opponent's strike and came up swinging. She knocked the human off balance and followed him down, burying her daggers in his throat. A shout sounded behind her along with the thundering of hoof beats, but the ghoul couldn't hear anything over the din of steel crashing against steel.

Pulling her blades free, she began to stand up when she was hit from behind by something large and heavy.

Upon entering the large temple, Shun quickly noticed that the air in here was a rather calming one. It was almost like that of the meditation room, but the effect seemed to be even more powerful. He closed his eye to relax even further. It wasn't even really something he could fight all that much.

When he reopened, he saw a hooded figure before them; apparently the head priestess, as well as their teacher. He listened to her words before nodding quietly and following her through the first door. What he found on the otherside was something he didn't quite expect. The sounds of battle were all around. They had walked right into the middle of a great battlefield. Broken weapons were littered all around, and it was a huge mess really.

Being approached by a centaur, Shun also noticed that many of the halloween denizens nearby weren't exactly wearing modern clothing. What was this about a human rebellion? Why was there a rebellion? He furrowed his brow, but then shook his head to himself. That didn't really matter right at this moment since he was about to be thrown into the battle himself. Taking in a breath, he looked over the weapons. They were all... copper. Seeing this made him frown. If going with a metal weapon, copper was not the most ideal one to be forging them from. All of this was all rather... ancient, between the dress and the style of weapons.

Quietly, he grabbed himself a pair of daggers, having no dispute over what he would use. Once he was equipped, he paused as he heard what the one known as Theseus said. But again, he didn't have time to speculate as he was urged along to where there were hundreds of humans at the bottom of the cliff. Glancing to the sides, he tried to see where Xiu and a few of the others were. They were sorely outnumbered.

Grimacing, he closed his eye and took in a deep breath to clear his mind. The battle was coming in and if he was to fight, he was going to make sure he fought hard.

Hearing the roar of many all around, Shun's eye snapped open. He gripped onto his daggers tightly, wondering for just a moment if he should use his personal ones instead. Pretty soon, the enemy would be coming in on close. From what he could see, they were all armored pretty well. It was going to be tricky landing critical blows, but it meant he was going to need to make sure that his hits really counted.

Off in the distance, he saw Xiu go down, crushed by a panicked horse.

"Xiu!" he called out, but it was too late. Cursing under his breath, he made his way on through the raging battle. He wasn't going to engage with anyone just yet. No, not when the enemy was more padded up than he personally was. The Reaper dodged here and there, as well as parried a few hits. It didn't go perfectly, as he received a number of grazing blows. It was nearly impossible to go unscathed in this hellish pit.

But then, he spotted his opportunity. One of the humans' helm had been knocked off one way or another. Capitalizing on this, Shun rushed forth before stabbing the man right in the throat. The human's eyes widened, staring straight into his eye. He sputtered out some blood, but then fell over. That much had been expected, but the Reaper felt empowered as the man died, feeling his Fear flow in. It was not something that had happened when he had taken Stacey's life. Then again, the hunter had died with dignity, so it was possible he had just been fearless in his death.

In any case, he watched the man drop before shifting aside as another tried to skewer him on the spot. One might have just been killed here, but there were still far too many trying to end them all remaining.

There wasn't much room to maneuver with so many people around, and the man with the spear had a pretty hefty reach advantage. And so Shun ducked away, deciding to not engage with him. Not yet. The spearman kept up with the pursuit; apparently the one that had just been slain was a friend of his or something to that effect. He was shouting something, but the reaper couldn't quite understand what was being said. It probably didn't matter right now. What did, was his survival.

His assailant struck out again, this time clipping his side in the process. Letting out a hiss, Shun grabbed onto the spear's shaft before pulling back to bring himself closer to the human. Now seemed to be a good time to strike back. Narrowing his eye, he quickly scanned for weak points where he might be able to access vitals more easily. The torso was pretty well covered from what he could see. With one dagger he struck one of the arms first. Then with the other, he slipped the blade under the arm, just above the edge of the armor. The man let out a cry of pain, then dropped down to his knees. It seemed that attack hadn't quite been enough to kill the guy quickly.

Once again, he could feel the human's fear as he realized that he was probably going to die here. He was afraid of it, and Shun could practically feel himself growing stronger from it. The reaper was about to finish him off, but there was no time. He was being under attack once again.

A breath rose and fell slowly, deeply, as Taryn entered the hollow room. It was... beautiful. The ghoul eyed the marble under her hooves, the vaulted ceiling, and then finally they drifted toward the fire in the center of the room. Another deep breath brought a soothing scent and Taryn felt the world... moving. There was no fear, only a sweet softness as she closed her eyes and-- no, no, not in class! She forced her eyes open against all of her body's desires, and everything was suddenly... different.

Someone was standing there, framed by swirling fog and indistinct white shapes in ornate purple robes. Reverence swelled in the chimera's chest... who was this? As if on cue, she spoke, and Taryn's breath caught in her chest. Guidance? Trance? Ritual? She peered around them as their teacher spoke (and she was more of a teacher than a professor), trying to make something out of the swirling white. When she failed, her gaze returned to Medea, and the priestess waved her hand to... what? Clear the fog? Summon the doors? Either way, there they were, and Taryn and her classmates were being guided toward the gold door furthest left.

Once again, the chimera's breath caught in her chest, deep and tight. They had been thrown into another world, perhaps by trance rather than reality, but it was more than real to them. She admired Chiron, the only other person she had met with more equine legs than her with such a shimmery coat, and turned to Theseus. A group of strangely-dressed children? Certainly it was time to throw them into battle! How Amityville-ish of the Horsemen, assuming this was a planned hallucination or enchanted dream. Taryn felt untrained in weaponry, and so chose the shield to perhaps protect herself and her classmates against the blades and maces of their enemies.

They were ready to move then, and when they reached their destination, the ghoul was in awe. There were... so many humans, and none looked anything like the ones she had seen. With a battle cry that mingled with the others she barreled into the mass of humans, axe raised.

This was like no battle Taryn had ever seen. While it was terrifying to have so many enemies gathered around you, clashing with warrior before you, it was exhilarating. The first kill she managed to land was a simple hack-and-slash, but she grew braver the more blood she spilled. Finally she had bashed a man in the face with the bow of her shield and thrown the sharp edge down on his neck, taking a hint from those with proper weapons and removing the head to guarantee death. For a moment, she was horrified with herself, and she paused.

Horror was replaced with pride when a whinny sounded nearby. The horse was not to blame for the attack, and so the ghoul's attention was placed on the rider. She would never be able to hop on the steed's back, as much as she wished she could, and so she contented herself to block the bladed blow that came and slice at the warrior's arm with her shield. He was wearing metal and leather to protect himself and Taryn cried out as another creature came to assist, protecting him as he sliced at the beast first and then, as it fell, impaling the rider upon his blade. Blood was ribboning toward the ground... but the horse was stumbling, panicking. Taryn's immediate reaction was to dodge and hold up her shield, but in a moment there was darkness and then nothing at all as the steed fell upon her.

It wasn't just one human this time too. Several had banded up against him, apparently in an attempt to save the life of the one he had fatally wounded just now. Shun scoffed lightly at this. If anything, they were only prolonging how long it'd take for him to die; making him suffer longer. But they kept him from delivering a coup de grace.

Bringing his daggers up, he took a more defensive stance. A three on one was not very good odds for him in the slightest. And thus, he focused more on trying to avoid their blows. It didn't work as well as he would have liked. One human managed to stab into his leg, while the rest had also caused a number of cuts onto his body. They didn't come out completely unscathed either, but he hadn't managed to hit anything important.

Grimacing, he worked on retreating. He couldn't keep on fighting this group on his own. Well, he could try, but it wasn't going to end well for him. That much, he could tell.

It wasn't easy though, with his leg now bleeding. Letting out a breath, he just worked on not focusing on the pain. Even so, it was difficult to move around like this. A part of him was still wondering just what had caused this battle in the first place. Shaking his head, he quickly leaned back as a sword came sailing his way, aiming to take his head off in one clean swoop. Or perhaps not so clean. Quite frankly, Shun didn't trust the sharpness of these copper blades all too much.

After that strike, he brought a dagger up and slashed the attacker's arm, then pulled on back. He managed to limp away after that move, and once he was a fair distance from the lot, he gritted his teeth and tried to pull himself back together. Clear mind. Stay focused.

The interior of the temple was interesting, to say the least. Her boots quietly tapped against the marble floor when she curiously walked into the temple. Dev’s gaze swept around the room once, noting the lack of horsemen within the area before she settled on the pyre burning in the middle. She took in its blue flame before a certain smell wafted into her nose. Her eyes widened and she took another whiff. There was something peculiar about the scent, but Dev couldn’t figure out why. Was it because she felt herself instantly unwind, muscles relaxing and her tail lazily waving from side to side? Maybe that was it, maybe…

She squinted her eyes as white filled with her vision. Blinking, once Dev adjusted to the new setting she noticed a figure in dark clothes. Dev looked curious, then confused when she saw the three doors behind the priestess. When had those gotten there? Or had they always been there and she never noticed at all? She shook her head, perplexed. Rather than puzzle over it, she paid attention to the figure’s words. Class of Guidance and Trance? Hmm. That sounded interesting. She continued to listen. Dev followed Medea toward the left door. Glowing eyes glanced at the ornate décor before she looked forward again and found herself in a valley.

Her ears flattened and her tail drooped at the sight of weapons. Were the students expected to fight? But this was a class of guidance and trance! Maybe it was for someone else. But Dev was more dismayed at the sudden change in clothes. “Whit?” she grumbled. She felt tempted to ask if they would ever get their previous clothes back, but that sounded like a Jacking stupid question to ask. She listened to the centaur with intrigued ears instead. The longer the stranger spoke, the louder everything seemed to become. Dev fought the urge to growl with annoyance. Was this real?

With a grimace, she trotted over to the display of weapons and eventually plucked out a shield. She wasn’t a very offensive ghoul to begin with, so why start now? Her tail curled between her legs as she walked to the edge and took in the sight of hundreds of humans. “Fur th’ love ay…” Dev’s voice drifted off as she followed the others, her shield raised.

She was definitely not a fighter. Her ears flicked as Dev held the shield close to her chest, occasionally her hands moved at a quick speed to raise it higher to deflect a barrage of arrows. They noisily clanged against her weapon before clattering to the ground, forgotten and stopped on by those on the battlefield. Noises and sights captured her attention from all directions as she attempted to make sense of the hectic situation. Her brain tried to process all the information, but left her incapable of searching out opponents for her to engage with. She crouched low to avoid catching a human’s attention. While it was clear that the goal was to fight them, Dev unfortunately had little experience with combat. “Fur th’ love ay Jack,” she hissed. If she wanted to learn how to fight she would have signed up for War!

A shadow loomed over her and she looked up. Ears flattened when she noticed a group of humans. Oh Jack. Dev yelped, bringing up her shield to deflect their attacks, but there were too many of them. If she dodged one swing, she was met with two if not more. She managed to bear with a couple more hits before she growled and clumsily swung the shield at the humans. Wincing, Dev ignored her newly-gained limp and took the opportunity to slip away from them. When she noticed a fellow student she gladly treaded silently over to him and continued to grumble. “Stupid humans. They’re like bugs Ah cannae squash.”

Shun took another hit at some point, causing him to go down onto one knee. Grimacing, he breathed in deeply, trying to reign in his focus. He had never been in such a chaotic and one sided battle like this before. It was completely insane. He saw a shadow loom over him as he was trying to recover from the blows he had been dealt. And for a moment, it felt like he might have been ended right then and there, but someone had shouted. The human standing by glanced over, distracted. Looking up to see what had happened, the reaper had looked just in time to see the man be decapitated rather gruesomely. This was followed up by feeling some of the human's warm blood splattering onto him

Glancing to the side, he saw an unfamiliar student coming on by. She looked to be injured too. Then again, he would be surprised if no one was around here.

"They can be squashed alright," he said darkly, "There's just too many of them. You slit the throat of one and there's five ready to take his place."

Wincing, he pushed himself back to his feet while looking over at the angry humans around.

"We're both wounded. What say you to watching each other's backs? We may be able to hold out a little longer that way in this madness."

It wasn't like him to really want to team up with anyone, but he wasn't blind to know when times like that were needed. He would be a fool to think he could take on this massive army on his own. If he had someone to help cover his backside, his chances of getting flanked were reduced, and in turn, his survival rate increased to some degree.

The likelyhood of coming out of this alive seemed to be rather slim as it was, however.

Olivia was a little anxious about these new sets of classes, like so many unsure of what to expect. The terrain enough was able to make her apprehensive, how worse could the lessons and training be exactly?

She shuffled in with the rest of her new and old peers, taking in the eerie beauty of the Temple and the sheer emptiness of the room. Well, the other classroom had only them as well, but the way some of the other students were looking about she wondered if that was always the case with this location. Her eyes scanned about, trying to take in all the details as she could. She was short, there was a pack of them and it was at times hard to see; probably a good thing to as the pyre was particularly blocked from her view.

The ghoul could feel a heat resonating from somewhere but what really caught her attention was the strong smell of incense in the air. It was captivating.. and making her eyes droop and for a moment she thought she was dizzy.

When she opened them, everything was white and there was a new figure introducing herself wearing beautiful simple robes that jingled as she moved. The sound make Olivia smile as she listened to their instructor. A ritutal, difficult to understand? This made her curious as she watched and stared as a door opened, taking the white with it and replacing it with a place full of life and greens and blues. It was a little warm for her tastes, like the island itself but Olivia knew she would have to bear it.

Humans. Centaurs. Bases. Recruits. Defending. Olivia listened as best she could to the conversation that played out before the class, confusion riddled on her face. The ghoul walked to the rack like the rest of them, her brows pulling together as she looked at the weapons. But her hands went and picked up the shield. She wasn't used to fighting, so perhaps defending herself would be a more viable option. It was heavy for her, but she managed to pull it back to the ranks and flicked a look of concern when Faustus pulled himself right up to her side. Did he know what was going on?

She wanted to ask but it seemed a flood gate was unleashed upon them in the form of swords and men.
