▌♦▐ The commotion of Icyre did not wake Rosalinde. Not at first at least. After he left the room, obviously perturbed by something or someone, it took another half an hour or so for her body to start to stir. Slowly she opened her eyes and blinked the room into existence. It was unfamiliar at first until she began to remember the previous night. Her travels on the sea were finally over and someone had taken her in, given her food, and let her sleep in a bed. Oh how she had missed the comforts of a bed, even the simpler one this man had let her borrow.

As she woke up more, Rosalinde realized that she was still hungry and noted that the food had been removed. However, she remembered that Icyre had requested her to not wander and that he wasn't supposed to have her in his room. Or did he mean in the Abbey? Unsure she was not prepared to test his generosity by leaving the room in case it would get him in trouble. But how long would he be gone? In the meantime as she attempted to wait the young woman peered about the room without rising further from the bed than to sit up, trying to get a better idea of who her savior was.

Meanwhile Father Ober was standing inside his office speaking to one of his head priests about the orders for the day. The fog was miraculously beginning to clear and there was plenty to do that day. This priest was collecting assignments that still had to be done and reporting on those that had been completed since the brothers had risen that morning. Much earlier than the disheveled Icyre who barged in without waiting to hear a response from Father Ober.

"Thank you, Brother Kaien, that will be all. I think that will get us through the rest of the day. Tell the brothers I will see them at dinner."

"Yes Father Ober." Brother Kaien replied, excusing himself before passing Icyre with a shake of his head.

Before Icyre could speak again Father Ober motioned for a chair once the door closed and in a stern tone began. "Sit down, Icyre." As soon as his order was followed Father Ober, always a patient man though typically on edge frequently when Icyre did such foolish things as he was about to talk to him about. "I don't want an explanation, not now. You are a paladin in training, a paladin under my watch and you will abide by the rules that have been set in place. They are not simply guidelines, they are to keep the sanctity of the Abbey in place and to keep the bretheren focused on their studies; you are a part of this Abbey, are you not? I do not know how you could have overslept in that chair, or heavens help you if you joined that girl in your bed. You are late, and therefore will be spending all day with Father Gantz and myself - after I have checked on the girl and moved her to more suitable housing until I decide what I am going to do with her - studying harder than you ever have in the years since I found you and took you under my wing. Go to the library now and if you are not there when I arrive I am afraid I will have to punish you further. Do I make myself clear?" ▌♦▐

Without so much as a peep from Icyre, he quietly stood up with a disheartened look upon his face. "Yes Father," he replied obediently stepping from the room and heading down towards his library. Studies...he hated studies, but hated even more the fact that Father Ober and Father Gantz. He sighed as he nonchalantly trudged down the pathway towards the Abbey's study/library. No doubt he'd have to push back his sword training to late tonight. Grunting to himself, he paused realizing he hadn't bathe yet, and grinned deviously. Without much thought he rushed back to Father Ober's room, and without knocking burst back in.

"Erm...pardon the intrusion Father...but before I carry out my...punishment, might I have time to bathe. Remember a Paladin must remain pure in body and mind," he chided reciting one of the few lessons Father Ober had taught him. "Thanks Father Ober," he said before the old priest could reply, and with that he rushed out, running down the hallway.

Father Ober only frowned as he pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head. "That boy I swear..." but stopped and smiled slightly as he watched Icyre dash through the courtyard towards the bathhouse from his window. "Such a handful, but nonetheless the boy has a pure heart...though I do wish he'd stick more to his studies..." replied the old priest.

By now Icyre had already made it to the bathhouse, and thought himself free from the punishment left for him. He took his time within the bath and emerged from it well groomed and fresh. He didn't expect to see Father Gantz to be there waiting for him with a stack of books. Icyre only sighed as he followed Father Gantz to the library obediently. What a day...

▌♦▐ Father Ober did exactly as he told Icyre he would. Seeing that the young man made it to the bathhouse he left his office and headed straight to his room to check on the girl. He had so many questions and didn't know where to start in that sense. Though he knew to be careful, because if he was right about his hunch of what had befallen the young woman she may be in shock. With the respect of a gentleman he knocked on the door before he entered, to announce his presence.

"Good afternoon miss." he said with a smile, seeing that she was sitting up and was awake. She was a sweet faced child, a little younger than Icyre perhaps, but it was her eyes that caught him off guard. He remembered an old friend from before he retired, and the pretty thing that had stolen him away from the Order. This girl looked like both of them combined into one. "Forgive me for...for staring, I was lost in thought." Father Ober excused himself as he entered the room. "My name is Father Ober, I run the Abbey De'Revenne which is where we are now. May I ask your name miss?"

Rosalinde saw no reason to mistrust this man, he had a wise and gentile way about him that made her think of her father. "My name is Rosalinde, Father Ober, and I am terribly sorry if my presence here has disturbed you, or in any way gotten that young man in trouble." Father Ober waved his hand.

"We can speak of all that later. Lady Rosalinde, it is an honor to have a guest in the Abbey, but I must request that you allow me to move you to more suitable quarters. I appreciate that whatever has happened Icyre has saved you and with that wonderful heart of his he deemed fit to...let's say stretched our rules, I am afraid it is out of the question for you to remain in his room. Are you able to walk?" Father Ober approached and offered his arm, which Rosalinde took and, after a moment of effort, managed to rise to her feet and took his arm.. Which she obviously needed when they began to walk, because her legs were acting as though she had never walked before. Father Ober was patient and led her from the room to another wing of the Abbey.

Perhaps it was because the brothers were all busy with work, or maybe simply because the Father knew which halls would be empty. But the two made their way to the new location without running into anyone else. "I have a guest room near my study and quarters that is free to use as long as you need it. It may not be the most luxurious, but you will be safe here. I only ask that you wait until perhaps tomorrow to move about the Abbey; I will need to inform the brothers that you are here and I would appreciate the time to prepare them."

"His name is Icyre?" She suddenly whispered and Father Ober chuckled. Recovering she nodded. "Of course Father Ober, thank you so much for your generosity." Rosalinde replied with a smile as he helped her into the guest room and onto the bed.

"It is my pleasure, Lady Rosalinde. I am sure you are hungry. I must attend to Icyre's studies today, but I will send someone to deliver lunch for you. Another young woman that has come under my protection. I will come see you tonight and, if you don't mind, ask you a few more questions and answer an you may have."

"Certainly Father Ober. Again...thank you." Rosalinde smiled as the Father retreated and closed the door behind himself. While she settled in to the more appropriate room Father Ober headed down to the library to find Father Gantz and Icyre. Yes there was another young woman staying within the Abbey, but the brothers knew of her already and had come to accept her being there as if she was one of their own. So long as this new ward was not a threat he believed that her being in the Abbey would soon be fine as well. Though he would have to keep an eye on Icyre's interactions with her. He asked one of the brothers in passing to request that Rosalie bring the sickly girl a meal when she returned - in hopes that the young lady may open up a bit more to another woman.

"Icyre, let's start with history and move on from there." Father Ober announced as he found them sitting in the library. Even though it appeared that nothing unacceptable happened in his room during the night, he still couldn't go easy on the boy and let him think that what he had done was acceptable. At least, without having come right to him to explain the situation. ▌♦▐

Rosalie was having an absolutely splendid day! She'd been exploring mostly, lurking around the less populated parts of the kingdom of Avante. She loved it here... it was more her home then her actual home had been. She still had the scars...
Shuddering lightly Rosalie quickly pushed those thoughts aside, slipping out of an alleyway and finding herself swallowed in the bustling streets of this beautiful kingdom. She couldn't see herself leaving ever. The people here had been so kind when she first showed up! Food and clothes, friendly pats on the back and smiles.
She felt all warm and weird inside just thinking about it.

Slipping through the crowds of people she came upon a tiny apothocary store... she didn't need any of the stuff inside to heal someone, but she still liked to go inside every so often. Father Ober had told her she was one of the few who had magic in their blood. Rosalie assumed that's why her actual father had hated her so much... jealousy, maybe? Snorting quietly at the thought she slipped into the spicy smelling store (yes, it smelled spicy), closing her eyes and relaxing.
"Rosalie, darling..." an elderly woman cooed, her neverending torrent of gray hair falling from the thick bun on her head.

"Mrs. Redfield, a pleasure as always." Rosalie curtsied with a little smirk, smiling even wider as the woman laughed at her.
"What can I help you with, my beautiful flower?"
"Oh, nothing Mrs. Redfield. I'm just looking today."
The elderly woman nodded silently, a smile playing at her lips. She had to be older then ninety... it was a miracle in and of itself that she was still able to keep a conversation going. As Rosalie dug through some viles of who-knew-what she heard the soft snores and smiled, glancing at the woman.
As usual she was knocked out sitting on her stool.

Shaking her head in a amused sort of way the girl silently slipped out, unable to stay in there without giggling and waking the poor woman up. Smiling up at the sky she realized it was getting a tad late, the smile slowly melting from her face.
"Perhaps it's time to go home now." Home, for Rosalie, was the Abbey. She was the only female there (well as far as she knew), but her brother's had taken her up as a foster sibling. They treated her like a much younger brother, not that she minded. She'd prefer to be "one of the guys" then a simple toy.

Ducking into a side alley she quickly made her way back home, finding herself standing in front of the Abbey in a record time. Smirking quietly to herself she pushed the large door aside and slipped in, pulling the door shut behind her.
It was as if he was waiting for her... as soon as she turned Brother Martin was there, hands folded neatly in front of him as he examined her with an amused expression. Her face was shocked... he was lucky she hadn't screamed.
"Father Ober would like you to bring this," he waved his hand to a tray of food sitting on a windowsill, "To the young woman just down the corridor."

"Young woman?" Rosalie perked up... another female at the abbey? Oh! Good! Someone to talk to! Smiling widely she brushed past Martin and scooped up the tray, blowing her bangs from her eyes as she scooted down the hallway. She hoped she didn't look a mess... though she looked the way she always did. Skirts all over the place, hair spilling from its hastily done bun.
Oh well.
That's just how Rosalie was... a big sweetie pie, but a bit messy. More like a lot messy, but hey, everyone has their issues.

Stopping at the door she assumed Martin had meant she knocked timidly before pushing it open a crack, peeking inside. Yes... there was a girl there, right there. She was very pretty indeed... what with her flowing blonde hair and deep, thoughtful eyes.
Clearing her throat Rosalie slipped in, a big smile on her face.
"Hi! I'm Rosalie... I guess you're new at the Abbey, huh?" She was just so happy all the time it was hard not to smile when around her, "Are you hungry? I brought food! Might not look that good but it's not so bad."

She set the tray gently on the bedside table, unsure what else she should do... strike up a conversation?
"You just got in, didn't you? Don't remember seeing you this morning before I left."

History...blech...He despised learning about the past, but knew better than to protest least he here one of Father Ober's ongoing speeches about those who don't study history are bound to repeat. Truthfully despite all the protest, he enjoyed the stories of the past, earnestly listening as Father Ober and Gantz went on about some war long long ago, he just tended to drone out the details. Hours upon hours they studied ancient manuscripts, history, wars, and governments until Icyre found it troubling to ignore his growling stomach. The night sky also stretched onward, pushing back the daytime till but a sliver of sun remained. Wearily Icyre stretched and looked towards Father Ober with questionable green eyes, awaiting the call to stop for the day. It was a brutal punishment, but all in all he felt accomplished.

"Pardon me Father...but I fear that if I don't eat soon, I shall grow to weary to continue on," he said chuckling, hoping his tactic to get out of study would work. That was Icyre for you...always trying to get out of a days study so that he could go swing his sword. Father Ober simply sighed and nodded to the young boy with a smile. Father Gantz on the other hand simply watched, and continued on with his readings. Icyre often wondered if that man loved books above all things. He quickly shot up, and was out the door before another word could be spoken. For now he was off to eat, and then to train. He'd have to greet the new girl a bit later...besides he was sure Rosie was keeping her company.

Making his way to the kitchen he grabbed a quick apple, some dried beef, cheese, and a small loaf of bread, then headed off for the training ground, beef jerky firmly clenched between his teeth. There was no time to waste, an hour of swordplay, then another hour of workout, followed by another hour of cool down. If there was one thing Icyre treasured about all in his training was the physical aspect. Truth be told many of the priests admired his determination, but wondered why he showed such disregard for the rest of his studies. In time it became the usual though, and the priests soon thought nothing of it. The hours went quickly, and finally a fatigued Icyre sat panting heavily against a nearby wall, his body coated in sweat. He had already removed his armor and shirt letting the cool night breeze cool him off. His mind wandered to the new girl, then to Rosie...

"I wonder if she's already met the new girl," he said to himself aloud as he sorely picked himself up from the ground, picking up his scattered pieces of armor.

▌♦▐ Father Ober trusted Brother Martin to not speak of Rosalinde to the others; he had made it very clear still what would happen if it did. It had become his trouble to bear, thanks to Icyre, and he would handle it with great care. In the room, Rosalinde looked up as the stranger entered the room with food and introduced herself. She was glad to see another woman, although she did not yet realize how much the brothers outnumbered the two of them. This Rosalie seemed nice enough, and her smile was quite contagious.

"Hello Rosalie, my name is Rosalinde. Please, sit down for a bit if you can." she offered her a spot at the end of her bed as she looked to the food. It smelled delicious though she did not touch it yet. Instead she focused on the newcomer's questions. "Yes I am new I suppose, though I believe I showed up sometime last night. I honestly...don't remember much." She grew silent for a bit, as she realized it was hard to really say how long she had been out on that boat. That, and had she only been there for a single night?

Shaking her head she apologized and managed to take a bit of bread and nibbled on it. Yes, she was hungry, but her eyes and her stomach were at odds. "Thank you for bringing this up for me." Rosalinde said with a smile, despite her apparent lack of appetite. "Please, tell me more about this place. Where exactly are we?" That was what she wanted to know most. Where exactly in the world had she wound up. The girls would talk for the next couple of hours until it was about the time for Father Ober to return.

Father Ober had sat with Icyre and Father Gantz quite peacefully enjoying every moment of their studies. He had after all experienced a great deal of the most recent history he taught. First had accounts always offered a different perspective and he hoped Icyre appreciated that. Hours after they had begun, he indeed allowed Icyre to leave feeling a bit hungry himself. "Come, Father Gantz, I have to inform the brothers of some news." Father Ober said casually as the two priests left to join the brothers in the dining hall. Typically they all ate late after diligent hours of work and study, and they all ate together like a big family.

He greeted the hall to a chorus of 'hellos' and stood before them all at the head of the room to announce that a young woman had been rescued the night before and would be remaining with them for the time being. Father Ober explained it in the same fashion that he had when he brought Rosalie to the Abbey - that they all understood their vows, and they would treat the young woman as they would any guest. The brothers understood; luckily they had been through this once before. Of course they wanted to meet the young lady at some point and Father Ober agreed. They ate their dinner with new commotion and when the time came Father Ober excused himself to go see Rosalinde. "Father Gantz, if you happen to see Icyre before the end of the night, inform him that he may find me in the guest room."

And with that he wandered up to his wing and knocked on the door and peered inside. "I hope I am not intruding." he started, wondering if he would see both girls inside. He did notice that the food had barely been touched and he wondered if the girl was more sick than he thought. ▌♦▐

Rosalie eagerly took the seat the woman offered... ha! They had similar names, they did. Rosalie was going to bring that up, yes indeedy.
"Rosalinde, huh? We got similiar names Miss Rosalinde. Pleasure to meetcha." Rosalie smiled again, getting excited... when that happened her speech became that of her past, before she came to the Abbey. She quickly cleared her throat and tried to calm down, leg bouncing in anticipation.
"Oh, you came last night? Huh. Surprised they didn't call me up. I'm a healer, you know. Father Ober says I'm a natural." She practically beamed when she smiled, obviously pleased.

"It's no problem. That's what I do! Study and serve food. It's boring but it makes the days go by quicker." She smiled lightly, fiddling with a piece of red hair that had escaped its bun once more.
"Why, we're in the lovely Kingdom of Avante!" Rosalie stood up, gently pulling the curtains open to show off the impressive landscape, "And right now we're in the Abbey, which is pretty much this big..." Rosalie then when off on a spree of explaining, promising Rosalinde she'd take her around sometime.

The hours passed a lot quicker then Rosalie had expected.

Before she knew it Father Ober was knocking at the door, peeking in and asking if he was interuptting.
"Father Ober! Pleasure to see you as always." Rosalie chirped deligantly, curtsying with a silly grin on her face, "Have you seen Icky today? He was supposed to help me find some plant, but he never showed up."
Then it dawned on her. Ooooh. Icky must have found Rosalinde, thus the reason he never showed up... ahhh.

Icky, in reality, was Icyre. Rosalie viewed him as an older brother who she could pester all day every day... usually by getting him to help her with things she couldn't do by herself.
"Have you met Icky - er - Icyre, Rosalinde?" she just wanted to see if her assumption was correct.

Finally with his armor gathered within a small sack he usually left lying about lying about the training grounds, he turned to grab his sword only to find Father Gantz there before him. Earnestly he had been there long enough to know his habits, but still couldn't help, but jump slightly at his sudden appearance. As quickly he had appeared, he relayed his message and was gone like the wind. "Honestly these guys would make a killing if they opened up a delivery service," he said chuckling. He grabbed up his blade and placed it back within it's sheath. He stretched and slung his shirt over his shoulder, still too hot and sweaty to put it on. His body gleamed with a clear coat of perspiration as he walked quietly down to the guest room wondering what Father Ober could want at a time like this. He probably needed help lifting something or hanging a painting. He whistled as he drew near the guest room and paused hearing the voices of two women, and Father Ober conversing, and froze. Whoa!

He was not ready for two women, and if his suspicions were right that little brat would be in there calling him...that name. He grit his teeth in frustration as he frantically looked about for some chance to escape, but froze solid upon realization that Father Gantz had been watching him from a corner the whole time. Icyre quickly straightened himself and chuckled waving at him nervously before walking forward and entering the guest room, stumbling slightly forward into it. He gasped as he nearly fell, and regained his composure. That's when he realized he had done the exact opposite of what he had intended. Damn that Father Gantz...he was good. Straightening his posture he stood and greeted Father Ober and then greeted the two girls reluctantly. That's when he came to the sudden realization that he was not wearing a shirt, and was quite sweaty...this was not going well.

His eyes shot to Rosalie, knowing that it was coming any second now...that infamous, wretched nickname she gave him. He then shot a glance to Father Ober, hoping he'd bail him out, but alas Father Ober averted his gaze as if he was saying...."you had it coming," His eyes then glanced to his sudden house guest last night and he unexpectedly blushed, turning a beat red. Oh dear...Rosie would never let him hear the end of this one.

Clearing his throat, he politely bowed his head in greeting. "Erm...my apologies...I am Icyre," he stiffly said. He was quite a wreck, and Father Ober truth be told was having a field day watching the boy squirm under his own thumb. He almost pitied Icyre a bit, but reminded himself that the boy brought it upon himself.

▌♦▐ Rosalinde laughed at Rosalie's energy. It was certainly refreshing. "Indeed we do. And the pleasure is all mine." This woman was adorable to say the least, and while she considered herself to have a much calmer temperament, Rosalie reminded her greatly of her childhood friend the princess. Pushing the dark thoughts aside that thinking of the princess would bring up she shrugged. "I do not exactly know who knew I was here, except for the kind young man who saved me from my boat. A healer? That's marvelous! I've never met one before." Rosalinde exclaimed, obviously impressed even more by her new acquaintance.

She could remember too living a rather mundane life as the daughter of an adviser, but she would never complain about the time she had had in her former life. Now she was in awe to hear that the little boat had taken her all the way to Avante. I've traveled that far? she mused to herself, having a better understanding of just what extent of peril she could have found herself in if she hadn't finally reached shore. She listened intently to all the information Rosalie was giving her and took several chances to look at the world beyond the window. Glad to see the fog had lifted, Avante seemed to be an almost magical place from the relatively small amount she could see from where she sat.

It hadn't even dawned on her that time had flown by so marvelously until the knock came at the door. Looking up she smiled when it was the familiar face of Father Ober that popped in. "Good...well, evening, Father Ober."

Father Ober beamed to Rosalie, chuckling. "Hello dear Rosalie, I am glad to see you two have spent so much time together already. And good evening to you as well Rosalinde. I am sorry I could not make an appearance sooner, but I had my pupil to deal with, and to inform the brothers that you are here. They are eager, in their own way, to meet you."

"I hope to meet them all, Rosalie has told me so much about this place I feel like I could pick most of the men here out of a crowd or walk around with my eyes closed." Rosalinde teased happily, laughing earnestly especially when she heard Rosalie call the young man Icky. "I suppose you could call it a meeting, though we haven't been formally introduced. He was the one who-" Rosalinde's statement died off when Icyre appeared in a manner that said he had obviously been working out. Perhaps it was that there was only the one woman here, and that Icyre would have been used to seeing her around, but the sight of a well-worked, shirtless man glistening across made her blush furiously and she quickly adverted her eyes.

It was unsightly for a girl to see a man except her husband even this much unclothed, at least that was what her father taught her. And the other way around...unthinkable for a lady of the court. "Icyre...it is a p-pleasure to meet you." Rosalinde said directly to her knees on the bed, unable to look at him. "Thank you again for last night, you truly are my savior. My name is Rosalinde..." ▌♦▐

Rosalie smiled back at Father Ober, pleased that he seemeed happy to see her. She had made it her personal goal too do the best she could do for this Abbey, ever since Father Ober rescued her from a life of despair. Sleeping in a barn she was when he came out of nowhere, asking if she needed a place to stay. He'd seen it inside her before she'd even known... she was a healer, just a touch of magic in her blood. Of course at the time she didn't care... she just wanted a real bed to sleep in with some nice hot food, not the roots and berries she had been eating for the past months on end.
It had been hard until he found her... she was grateful and forever in his debt, as far as Roaslie was concerned.

"Oh, I haven't said that much... have I?" Rosalie blushed, Rosalinde's words making her feel a tad self concious. She knew she talked a lot... believe me, she did. She just couldn't help it! It wasn't her fault, not entirely... was it? Probably. She didn't care one way or the other, so long as Rosalinde didn't feel out of sorts and lost in the Abbey. Rosalie would take her on a tour if she had too, she decided right then and there.
...that was about the time Icky came busting in.

"Icyre!" Rosalie had the perfect chiding mother voice, "Where's your shirt? You're in front of a proper lady... Miss Rosalinde doesn't want to see all that skin!" with a huff Rosalie marched over, pushing a throw pillow against his bare chest until he held it there.
"Absolutely no manners what so ever, you big doofus." She stuck her tongue out at him and turned on her heels, face going completely soft at the sight of Rosalinde's blushing.
Oh, the poor thing.

"It's alright Rosalinde. Icky here is just a dummy, you'll get used to it." She sat beside the girl and gently patted her back, throwing Icyre quite a few unkind glances.
He, all in all, was like her big brother. Her new big brother, considering she had actual big brothers scattered around the world... she wondered idly if she'd ever see them again. Deciding not to think about the past she went back to comforting Rosalinde, ignoring the other two men in the room with absolute skill.

When you found yourself living in a Abbey and you were a female... well, you kind of learned to ignore men almost instantly.
"There's no need to be shy, miss. He just forgot I'm not the only girl around here anymore." She smiled teasingly, trying to get Rosalinde to peek up, "Besides," she added in a whisper, "Look at how red he is already!"
It was true. Icky was pretty red... Rosalie was never going to let him forget it.
Neeeeveeeerrr.

Suddenly there was a bang on the window. A rather loud bang... as though a body had hit it. Rosalie jerked herself into a standing position and rushed to the window... there was a tiny bird lying on the sill, its wing broken from its failed attempt at flying through the window.
"Oh! You poor thing!" Rosalie cooed, scooping it up in her hands. The bird, naturally, freaked out and nipped her thumb, a nice little current of blood flowing from the wound. She ignored it pointedly and sat right directly on the floor, legs crossed as though she were a small child.

Which she was, really.

"Shh, little bird..." she stroked its head, murmuring soft things. It happened without warning... there was a snap, a strangled caw from the small bird, and then it was up and flying out the window again.
"Ah, well, at least he can fly once more." Rosalie said happily, unaware that her actions might make poor Rosalinde feel ever more out of place.
A natural, just like Father Ober said... that's what I am!

"Rosalinde..." he repeated her name quietly to himself as a small smile crept up upon the corners of his mouth. He couldn't help, but think that perhaps Rosie was right, and found himself entirely too under dressed for the occasion, but quickly shrugged it off. Icyre was a free spirit, and oddly enough didn't react to things of that sort as a normal person should. She when he was but a boy his curiosity was fierce, but when the priest of the Abbey averted their eyes, when young woman streaked through the courtyard some time ago, Icyre only cocked his head to the side curiously and wondered what was the big deal. He thought nothing more of it, frowning as the small throw pillow stuck to his sweaty bare chest. Placing the pillow upon the stand he frowned slightly before speaking to Rosie.

"I...um...well sorry about this, and stop calling me that name, i'm a Paladin in training, not some word a child uses to describe it's least favorite food," he snapped back at her, still a bit red from earlier. He sighed and shifted uncomfortably upon hearing a soft thud, and watching Rosie revive the fallen bird...a chill wound down his spine as he watched it occur and the little bird flutter off. Truth be told, Icyre was sorta afraid to use magic as well. He tried to not let on about it when Rosie used a spell, but it shook his very foundation, as if he when she used it, he was staring into a portal to another world. Shaking the thought and turning his attention back to Rosalinde... "I do hope you enjoy your stay here at the Abbey...if you'll excuse me," he quietly said excusing himself from the room. Once the door closed he leaned upon it momentarily closing his eyes, and sighed deeply.

"Great...first cute girl in the Abbey and I probably looked like an idiot to her," he chided aloud to himself, not aware that Father Gantz sat across the room watching him with a amused grin. Opening his eyes, they shot to Father Gantz, and Icyre yelped in surprise, no doubt his surprised yelp could be heard through the door. He blushed a deep red before rushing past Gantz, without a word, and hurried to his room. Damn...what a day...

▌♦▐ Rosalinde chuckled slightly as the two argued over Rosalie's nickname for Icyre. It was sort of cute, and she realized that these two must have known each other for some time; endearing nicknames, even silly ones, took time to stick. Despite Rosalie's urging the young woman still would not raise her head to look at the...well, attractive young man standing half naked behind a pillow across the room.

She did however peek to the side when she heard the commotion with the bird. When she had been younger, her father had given her a small songbird as a gift when he returned from a voyage with the King she could not undergo with him. For many years Rosalinde had loved to spend time with the little creature, and after a while it would even sit on her shoulder and follow her around throughout the day. Not long before this grim adventure, she had decided to release her friend into the wild, sensing that it would be safer for her that way. Now she wasn't sure if her decision had been a good one or not, or if she hadn't somehow sensed the approach of the darkness even that soon.

Silently she watched with earnest interest as Rosalie, with great knowledge but perhaps lacking grace snapped the wing back into place by the sounds of it, and the bird took flight once more and disappeared. The action had made her jump, certainly she had been worried at first that the snap was from the bird's neck. Yet when all was said and done the fact that with very little effort Rosalie had given flight back to the bird Rosalinde was astounded. There was a lot more about magic she wished to learn, and perhaps someone here at the Abbey or in Avante in general could tell her if there was a way to remove the mark the shadow knight had given her.

Before Rosalinde could really get out a goodbye or good night Icyre slipped out and Father Ober laughed as he heard the commotion outside. "Please excuse him, Lady Rosalinde. He is not usually so empty headed." Father Ober chided before looking to Rosalie. "Wonderful job Rosalie. But it is getting late and I must request that you give me some time to speak with our guest now in private. Come and see me in the morning and I will make sure we work on that new remedy I promised to teach you." He beamed at his healer, proud of how far she had come. Certainly the majority of her power came naturally, but everything could be honed to near perfection with practice and new knowledge. Father Ober would wait for her response before turning to Rosalinde again; despite his age and wisdom he felt almost like an impatient child inside because her being there had been nagging at him all day for specific reasons, and he would not be able to contain his questions must longer. ▌♦▐

Rosalie glanced up to watch Icyre leave, a smirk leacing her face. That hadn't been the first time he'd yelled at her... she would have yelled back if Rosalinde hadn't been in the room. Unlike some big dopey-headed-men Rosalie knew how to act around a proper lady!
Pretty much.
"GOODBYE ICKY!" She called as the door shut behind him, her tongue sticking out childishly. She quickly pulled it back into the confines of her mouth when Fater Ober shot her a chiding look... a blush painted across her face at the thought of his dissaproval. Oh well... Icyre had deserved it.

She merely smirked when he yelped outside, the big doofus.

Licking her lips she glanced up at Father Ober, a pout forming at his humble request for privacy. She looked at Rosalinde for a moment before giving a curt nod, eyes glazing over as she realized just how utterly tired she really was.
"Okay, Father. Whatever you say. 'Night, Rosalinde. A pleasure meeting you. I'll see you in the morning!" She raised her hand in a half wave before heading towards the door, pausing and turning around. She pulled something from her neck... it was a thick leather cord. It was tied to a little sack that seemed to hold something.
Some sort of necklace.

"Where I came from these were supposed to protect you from evil stuff. So... here you go. You can have it." Smiling shyly Rosalie dropped it in the blonde's lap before quickly making her escape, easing the door closed behind her. Even so it still slammed... she had the tendency to do that. Get nervous and break stuff.
Funny considering she was a healer.
Leaning against the door for a moment she let out a puff of air, feeling eyes on her. Slowly looking up her deep green eyes rested on Father Gantz, who seemed amused with her current expression.

"What are you doing lurking around out here?" She demanded, voice both annoyed and slightly relieved that it was only him. Not exactly waiting for a reply she bid him goodnight and vanished down the hallway, the same way Icyre had gone.
Suddenly aware of a sharp pain in her thumb she looked down to see it was dripping blood. Oh. That bird had pecked her. Frowning mildly she picked up the pace, slipping into her room as quiet as a mouse. She never healed herself... it was a waste of energy as far as she was concerned.
Instead she ripped a piece of linen free from one of her many sheets (knowing she'd get in trouble but not really caring). She wrapped her thumb up nice and tight and grinned, sinking onto her bed.

It was an odd bed, honestly. All sorts of funny blankets lined it... though the one on top was special. Her oldest brother had given it too her before he had vanished... she wondered whatever happened to him.
Pouting quietly she curled up with the blanket before blowing her single candle out, falling asleep rather easily in the embrace of warmth that was her bed.
