For what it's worth...I'm not pessimistic about the future of the unborn. I think eventually more and more people are going to look around them and think "What have we become?" Seriously.

It's going to be slow. There is a lot of work to do. If abortion is made illegal, the battle still isn't over because now we have to reform society so that we can provide all women with what they really need.

Think about it...what does abortion actually fix? If you have a boss that would fire you if you became pregnant, that boss will still be in place after your abortion. The adoption system still sucks after your abortion. The institution where you get your education is still not child friendly after your abortion. Your boyfriend still wants you to sex him up after your abortion.

What about those of us who don't choose abortion? We face sucky bosses, adoption systems, school and unsupportive boyfriends...when they are sucky of course. There is a lot to be said about a guy who stays beside a pregnant girlfriend. There is a person I graduated from high school with. He used to be such a scumbag and harrass me a bit...until he got his girl pregnant. He completely turned his life around for this kid so that he could be a good father to him. I have a lot of respect for him these days...and I've never seen him happier to be honest and I was in school with him for 8 years.

Back of track...I do feel confident that one day it will not be looked on with favor in the history books...

New Jersey.

I probably should mention that I went to a Catholic High School but I think we may have been either the only school in the state with an active P-L club...or we were the only one who sent a delagation of teens to Trenton each year. If not, we certainly were recognized for sending the largest delagation of teens to the point where our club's president each year was invited to make a speech.

that's awesome... the only marches we have around here are catholic marches, which probably turns away non-catholic pro lifers...

Don't think so, as long as you're respectful of Catholic beliefs and not bashing, the ones around here let in anyone who's pro-life.

no, i mean, the pro lifers might not want to go with all the priests and bishops running about, and all our christian slogans and stuff... i'm sure they'd let anyone march, but if it is implied that it is for catholics by all the priests and crosses, the non-catholics may be hesitant

Shouldn't be. The Catholic church is one of the largest organizations behind the pro-life movement. No matter what pro-life march you go to, you'll probably run into a bunch of Catholics, all the ones around here have tons of priests and all but they aren't Catholic organized. Priests and bishops don't bite. Much.

I know that, I always keep religion out of the abortion debate. But when dealing with Christians, you need to tell them what's going on from a Christian point of view. If you're going as a religious group, it makes sense to use religious arguments. There are arguments besides religion used at the same time, though. You don't need to be a Christian to be against the holocaust or slavery. You don't need to be a Christian to know that Stalin wasn't a very nice man. You don't need to be a Christian to see the similarities between abortion and a whole bunch of past attrocities. I don't know about other parts, but around here, whenever the Catholics do something, they use more than religion in their arguments and banners. They have religion too, but that doesn't really bug me. I'd expect Pagans to have banners saying, "Respect life in all stages," or something (Well, if Beware's writing their banners xd ), because the evil of abortion is based on morallity as well as facts. Catholicism is a certain moral code. It shares things in common with other moral codes, but without the moral codes of belief systems, abortion would be perfectly fine.

As much as I would adore this, going back to the ED topic and taking all those Choicers down altogether, this guild has around 500 members.

The Choicers Guild has nearly 1000.

*sigh* stare

But I will admit. The pro-choice view is but a fad now. Like sparkly purses or miniskirts.

*exhale* I was infuriated the last time I visited there -

(which, need I remind you, was the last time I visited there)

- and was reported, banned, insulted, rediculed, laughed at, made a fool of, and discouraged because of my beliefs.

Lymelady, when I read that thing about you having a small seizure due to their lack of respect and integrity, I almost had one myself.

stressed

I'm tired of the damned pro-choice jokes and whatnot. I'm starting to find myself incrediously pissed off at their comments.
