Ryan had been present in the medical tent, putting away the roll of bandage he had recently used on Wilson when he overheard the female moon hunter speaking. Things were looking pretty bad. The wounded kept on piling in and they were in dire need of supplies. If anything big showed up now, who was to say they last through the attack?

He pushed the thought aside, focusing on what the sun division leader, Allan, was trying to explain to them instead. Though looking at him now, the poor man looked like he was in no condition to lead a mission of any kind. By all rights, he should be laying down, not walking off into more danger.

Weapons..? Ryan repeated in his mind, only to hear a small sigh from Locke. It wasn't so much a sigh of disappointment, than it was tired.

:He probably means tablets. Weapon tablets. Recovering them from fallen hunters.: He answered. Obviously he had gone through the routine before.

His answer made Ryan feel a little ill, but he stood firm.

"Yes sir."

Gale was already in the Infirmary when he heard a familiar voice rise above the rest of the din. There were bruised, bloodied, and bandaged hunters everywhere - his own shoulder was wrapped in several layers of gauze beneath the dirty white coat - and the entire place smelled of that awful, sickly sweet metallic scent and alcohol.

The only different thing about this entire thing, Gale thought, as he pushed himself to his feet, threading his way through the sea of injured people, was that Allan had referred to them as "trainees" and not "shinigami" or anything else obscure.

Somehow that made it even more serious.

It was already difficult keeping his expression calm. Clarice had warned him about keeping a cool head, but she had been referring to something else entirely, not about the fact that he had just been rejected by the girl he liked. But now was not the time to think about that - now was not the time to moon over lost love.

Like. Whatever it had been. He wasn't thinking about it.

He made his way over to stand by Madison, sliding his hands into his pockets and adopting a calm, expressionless facade that he hoped would look convincing.

Salvage. Yes. I can do that. Distracting.

..and painful,
he thought, closing his eyes. We're looking for things from dead hunters.

The prospect was not exactly pleasing, nor particularly helpful to his current situation of inner turmoil. But this was a mission. It was a mission, and he was going to give it his all, in spite of everything.

"Yes, sir."

Tori had finally gotten herself calmed down enough by this point that she wouldn't ramble random facts if someone talked with her and was ready to do something anything to keep her from thinking about the past. Tori did listen carefully to what Allen was saying as it would be good to get out of this tent and to finally be of some use, later on she would go take her turn on patrol. She also made a mental note to make sure to not waste any time when she looked at Simon and didn't want to be shot by him either.

She didn't like those bugs but a mission was a mission. So they were going to do some salvaging which was alright by her as it was important to have supplies especially in the desert. Then she heard that one of the things they were to look out for were weapon tablets did Tori get a little more nervous as it brought back the memories of the last time they had gotten weapon tablets. Aklin soothed his hunter that this time could be different and she just sighed a little and glad that she wasn't dead. She just didn't know what she if she ever lost Aklin and then she cleared that thought out of her head to ready herself for salvage the things that they needed. Tori didn't have any questions so she just kept quiet until they left.

The infirmary was looking really bad. There were wounded hunters all around, which had Deryk a little more worried on what was out there. He thought the patrols were bad, but there had to be more things going on for this to be happening.

Listening to the plan of action, he shifted uneasily before nodding. Salvaging supplies. Right. Somehow, he had a feeling this was going to be really dangerous. If the tents were abandoned, there had to be some sort reason for it. Perhaps it got too wild there. If that were the case, was the thing that caused the abandonment still there?

He tried not to think about it too much. But.. he had to ask about it anyway.

"Uh. Sir? Wh..what caused the tent to be abandoned in the first place?" he asked.

...And thinking about Suns with shoulder injuries. They'd talked, and there'd been some cookie-induced niceties, but back in the arena of dangerous situations Harrison was starting to feel anxious again.

They weren't being sent to their deaths, specifically. They were being sent out on a comparatively light mission to get some supplies that the camp needed. But if there was trouble...he didn't want there to be lingering doubts about a repeat of last time.

Harrison moved carefully next to Rep, and kept his voice down.

"...We're okay, right?" he asked.

He'd been having his own doubts about what was going to happen if something big came their way. Of course, this seemed like busy work, designed to get them out from under the feet of the real hunters but it still fell to them to look after themselves.

As Harrison came over, he nodded, keeping his own voice down as questions were asked around them.

"Aye. We are." There were still problems to be dealt with, but if the cookies had taught Rep something, it was that he really didn't want to lose the friends he had. He'd deal with it later, and hopefully in a way that wouldn't end badly. It just hinged on getting them all home alive. "You have my word man, for what that's worth"

Bandages, water Rations and space, leon watched as they all began to dwindle as time passed, more entering with injuries than those that were leaving fully patched up. It didn't stop the boxer from feeling a little but of anxiety due to all the cases of injury's. It didn't bode well for the mission and even he knew this couldn't be anything important to its completion.

It took the call of one leader for the remaining somewhat functional trainees to be amassed and called upon for salvaging. The brunette tightened his jaw with the dawning of what Allan meant. They were going to go graverobbing, in the camp where the souls of hunters from the past were resting, the odds that they were carried back to headquarters were slim. scavenging their decomposing bodies for anything that the current group could use. this was how serious of a pinch they were in.

it wasn't as if the dearly departed was using it once he thought about it. He only wished that they were going to watch over their mission and bless it for success.

"Understood." he replied back, giving the man a firm nod. If Allan was going to get serious, then he knew it had to be done, and get done right.

"Good," Harrison grumbled, "Guarding your dumb a** and that shitty shoulder is risky enough already."

"I'll make the tremendous inconvenience up to you somehow when we get back." he smirked.

Allan wanted them to do something? Marcus was willing. Patrolling was not the best, and his emotions had been taking a roller coaster ride through hell. Supplies and water. The fact they hadn't been here super long and were already needing to go salvage didn't sit well. The mention of 'weapons' didn't startle him so much as earn a sad look. Dead. The end was coming and people were already dead. Simon's show just got a bored look.

No dawdling or playing kissy face. Sure. He could do that Simon, just why did you have to wave a gun at them seriously.
Marcus just nodded, keeping to himself.

Allan dropping out of character was unsettling; so far, whenever they'd seen the Sun leader, he'd been playing, and Jordan got the distinct and sinking sense that it took a lot to make Allan drop the play entirely. That the trainees were being sent off on this task likely meant that the actual fighting needed all available Hunters; that was worrisome as well.

Stay out of the way, quit clogging up the tent, and make yourself useful. Jordan nodded his understanding and stayed quiet; the less questions Allan had to answer, the sooner the man could get back to more important things.

Bix had been doing pretty well distracting himself with the reality of their mission. It wasn't until the injured kept pouring in that he started to worry once more. So many experienced hunters were being taken down. They were just trainees. Even in salvage, were they enough.

Mina had been quiet and Bix wasn't sure why. He felt her supporting him but it was as if she didn't even know what to say in reaction. It dawned upon him suddenly that he didn't know much about her history. These type of situations were probably a first for the FEAR-thirsty former halloweener that was his bow. It made him feel more attached to her, finding a common ground.

The prospect of collecting tablets was not popular. All he could do was look at all the faces around him and the doubt seeping slowly into the group.

Jerry was feeling... marvelous for once. Severity of the situation? Yeah it was severe. Allan in srs bsns mode? Almost uplifting. The cookies had been fantastic for mood lifting but who needed cookies when you had a *Harrison back rub?*

He had gathered up his coat to tie around his waist again, summoning Roar to heft under his arm as he practically floated with the flow of trainees, smiling faintly, almost to dissociation-level. He was home, though, just oddly and inexplicably content.

"You got it, sir!" He even gave Simon a salute.

Tedan looked around for another minute or two then edged toward Bix and Wilson. "How're you guys doing?" he murmured quietly. There were various bandages about his torso and though he didn't seem to notice, his coat was stained with shades of brown and red. Still, they had to keep fighting - that's what Suns did, right?

Sasha slipped out of the infirmary, bright-eyed and relatively bushy-tailed. Deep within her pockets there were two things that made the trainee very, very happy. One was the kazoo that Jerry had given her. The second was the mp3 player that she'd just retrieved - a gift from the doctor. She hadn't started it up just yet, but if the faces of her fellow hunters meant anything, well.. there was little doubt in Sasha's mind that she'd need the music at some point in the near future.

She didn't want to waste the batteries, though, or else Sasha would have it powered up and ready to go. No, it was her only solace out here in the Sahara. She would have to be very careful with how she used it.

Glancing over her shoulder to see if Syd was following her, Sasha slipped between the hunters until she came almost front and center, awaiting further instructions.
