[Concentration Points :: 3] Floating, he was so light, calm, and then the feeling of calm was gone and he was afraid. He could hear the sound of moving water, felt it washing over him. He was shaking. Without knowing it, his teeth started to clench and his hands started curling into fists.

A moment later, the fear was gone and his eyes slowly opened. While last time he had felt like every muscle in his body was shaken, this time he felt... calm, relaxed. Deep down, Julian knew that he was still afraid, that he hadn't beaten his fear, not yet. But he was closer.
He left with a tired smile on his face.

Inner PeaceThe room was divided into cubicles, each cubicle with a small, rectangular carpet in it. The whole place was so quiet that it was almost odd, and smelt strongly of incense; however, the smell seemed to calm your mind, and some students might find themselves feeling a little too relaxed or sleepy; there wasn't really anyone in the room to man it, just a sign lit by candles.
"Calm your mind, seek inner peace"
Perhaps you should try meditation... As you take a seat in one of the cubicles, a horsewoman of Death appeared behind you, and lowered a curtain that closed ypur cubicle off from the rest of the room; maybe there was someone manning the room after all...

This was it, one more try, Julian was going to overcome his fear. Only this time, instead of closing his eyes and just focusing on his breathing, he took out his crystal and began rolling it between his palms. It was the only trick he knew that he could do with eyes closed and it was really rather calming. With a sigh, he let the rhythmic motions of his hands try and calm him.

[Concentration :: 1] Tranquility settled over him as he continued to turn the ball between his hands. He almost couldn't feel the movements anymore. His breathing slowed as he tried to hold his concentration.

[Concentration :: 4] There, his concentration settled and the fear came. His hands stopped moving, he just held the orb as he tried to control his reaction to his fear.

His eyes snapped open with a gasp, trembling as he clutched his orb. That was it, he hadn't managed to do it. Maybe it was a sign. Something was telling him he wouldn't be able to get over his fear. Maybe that was how it was supposed to be. Trembling from the experience, he left the cubicle and headed back to his room to rest and relax a bit.

Julian walked into the meditation room one last time, going through the motions of relaxing himself. It felt like the first day, going into the trance, a feeling of his body floating off of the ground. He might have felt his feathers ruffle just a little, but the calmness in his mind kept him from noticing.

It was almost as if he was repeating that first day of training, that first failure at overcoming his fear. Even as his emotions began to swell, tranquility fell over him, wrapping him in a blanket of empty thoughts.

Then came the fear.It was just as it had been the first day. Was he doomed to repeat his mistakes over and over? Would he never overcome his fear? Was it all pointless, banging his head against a wall with the hope that eventually the wall wouldn't feel so hard? He felt a hand touch him, his eyes snapped open. A horsewoman stood there, she was smiling at him. Julian didn't object as she led him out of the room.
