Auri snatched up the cup and shook it like a polaroid picture. Gold dust sprinkled all over the table as she rattled the dice. She slammed the cup on the table upside down. She slowly turned the cup over to reveal a two and a five. Jackpot. She took all 3 tokens and placed them in her pile. Quote: Own - 2 JD, 1 ZA Owed- 0 JD, 1 ZA

Zar's smile faltered just a bit as the dice decided to stab him in the back. His luck was notoriously low, that was to be expected.
He decided around this time that sceptres seemed to be the winning hand and flipped back to them.
"Sceptres this time I think." It was fine, business cards weren't such a huge deal right?

Auri was on top of the world. But the next round would decide how solid her command was. I was time to test fate.
"Crowns," she said bluntly.
She put the dice in the cup and passed it toward Zar.

JD considered the dice balefully.
"...crowns."

Zar took the cup with his tail, nimbly rattling the dice before emptying them onto the table.
Seemed like they played nice for him. "Odd. Sceptres win this round."

Why did she change her mind now? Scepters was working out so well for her. Well it has come up 3 times in a row... So she she should stick with...
She said it plainly, "Crowns again."

"Crowns!" JD declared defiantly. This was...going poorly. Surely crowns had to win ONE round, right? Tally Favors Owed:2, Auri 1, Zar Favors Won:

Zar decided to play devil's advocate.
"Very well, I'll play Scepters."
He rolled the dice again lazily and smirked.
"Oh I do so /love/ this game."

"DAMN IT." JD's fist slammed into the table, leaving a gold imprint and upsetting the dice and tokens. Taking the cup, he began rattling the dice pre-emptively. "Gonna be crowns this time, baby." Was he rocking back and forth? Tally Favors Owed:2, Auri 2, Zar Favors Won:

Auri knew she couldn't win to Zar or lose to JD at this point. She wondered how she could be so lucky. She dreamed about what Zar had in store for her. "I guess that leaves me with scepters." she said airily. She was still in her little fantasy. Quote: Own: 2 JD, 1 Zar Owed: 0 JD, 3 Zar

Zar watched JD storm off with a satisfied little smirk. He might have lost that round but he felt he'd still somehow come out on top with the game.
He turned his smile on Auri. "I think I shall call it quits around now myself. While I'm ahead to some extent. I've made a note of the favors I'm owed and I'll notify both of you as and when its time to collect. I always give fantastic notice."
Once again his tail lazily curled behind him, an outward sign of his contentment. "Thank you for the game." He stood with a subtle stretch of his shoulders and wings. "Regarding the favours you are owed, any immediate requests or would you like time to organise your business card design?"

Auri took her pieces. She knew the outcome would be the same whether won one this hand or lost. But it still felt great to win.
She still lost her bet to Zar and her head ran wild with what he would do with her. She still hoped is was to be his personal bed warmer. And since JD had just walked off she considered taking another bet.
"Well Zar I know the game is technically over. But do you want use your favor? I can think of a fair trade." she leaned forward in her chair. Trying to sound as flirty as possible. The front legs of her seat balanced precariously. She closed her eyes and leaned as close as she could over the table. The way she held her mouth made it obvious she hadn't ever made out in her life.
She didn't even hear his comment about the business cards, or the fact that he had stood up. In a split second her chair slipped from under her and she was sprawled out under the table.
She came snapping back to reality. Auri tried to play it off as best she could from under a table. "Yeah, sure you can start you know... whenever is best for you. Just let me know why you could use my help or whatever," she said muffled by the table.
"I'll see you around."

Zar considered it. He really did. He was an INCUBUS. It was in his very nature to be completely unable to say no to that sort of thing. His eyes narrowed to slits as he gave her a very predatory look but even as he stood she sprawled backwards and the motion itself snapped him back to reality very hard, making him blink and shake his head, his eyes resuming their normal state.
Oh my.
He cleared his throat, pushed his glasses up his nose with a neat talon, rearranged his tie and turned to walk off.
"Expect my correspondence."
