Boot acquired, success! Molly knocked the sand out of it, and then slipped it back on. Her head now whipped every which way as it seemed her patrol team was all under attack. She reached out for Bix, and then for Sasha, and then for Jerry, but…oh dear! Who to run to first!? Especially when everyone seemed to be able to pull themselves through?
Another loud cry caught her attention though as well, and she spotted another Moon Hunter trying to fight off another scorpion, except he didn’t look like he could handle it. Molly fretted, before she ran over that way to help. She then came back, her shoulders slouching and looking rather winded. Vaska was getting kind of heavy to keep carting around.
<I resent what yehr implying.>
“I…I’m alright!” She thought. She hoped. “H…how’s everyone?”

"Hummm," Sasha gave Molly a worried look. "Maybe we should head back to the tents? Just.. you know. My knee," she gestured weakly at Jerry, "and Jerry got squished," before giving Molly an earnest look.
"And I think the sun is getting to everyone. Is my face burning?" Sasha was starting to wonder if maybe she should have worried about sunscreen.
Her face was probably roasting.

"Oh my goodness you three, you're going to turn into a cinder, that's right!" Jerry wobbled upright, feeling a fresh sense of accomplishment at a Job-generally-well-done, plus a fresh wave of cookie warmth in his stomach. He wobbled towards the other three, glancing from pale-skin to paler-skin to palest, and for once in his life was rather glad of his own genetics. Just the while they'd spent in this desert had already started a nice olive tan, although his own nose was getting a bit pink. "Especially you, Bix," He wove a finger, "I hope you put on some sunblock. If not, I'm sure Julie has some?"
He sighed in exasperation as he looked down at his coat, looking crestfallen. It was the first coat he had gotten since promotion, and he had thus far, kept it relatively free of blood and gore stains.
Now it was in tatters. "I hope they have a needle and thread," He sighed sadly. "I could use another one of those cookies, that's for sure."

Sasha exhaled loudly, using the edge of her scarf to dab at the sweat that glistened on her forehead.
"I know one thing for sure! I am just ... desperately tired of bugs. Scorpions, centipedes -- all of them." She turned back towards the tents, one corner of her mouth creeping up in the barest threat of a frown. It was going to be a long walk back... but.. she was among friends! And the sky was such a lovely shade of blue, even if there were no clouds to offer a bit of shade from the unrelenting heat of the sun.
"I am parched," Sasha mumbled offhandedly. Her scalp was burning up, the black of her hair retaining heat like mad. She slowly started shuffling back to the tents in search of some water.

"It is a nice day out, but honestly!" He shook his head, wondering how Fear Shields did for sunburns on his poor friends. He was sick of bugs too. With one more final stern look, he hurried after Sasha for some water and maybe another cookie or six. [Exit]

Bix stumbled to his feet as the onslaught of bugs seemed to die down. Jerry and Sasha were already headed back but Bix was loitering with Molly. "Where's Tedan? I lost him in all this damn sand?" He couldn't leave his buddy behind. Especially not if he'd been attacked by bugs as well. "You can go back if you want Molly. I think the bugs are gone for now." He would catch up.

Molly just waved to Sasha and Jerry as they started to head back with a smile. Yeah, her FEAR shield wasn’t feeling to tip top shape anymore, and her face was probably red and she was feeling parched, but she wasn’t going to leave Bix all alone out here while he waited to recover their other patrol member. She would hold out a bit longer. Molly rested her lance on her shoulder, and then reached back to pull up her hood. Hey, maybe it’d shade her from some sun?
She offered a smile to the albino hunter. “We probably shouldn’t be patrolling alone if we can help it…safety in numbers, you know? I’ll wait with you.”

Quote: You walk around and suddenly hit something odd in the ground. They look like strange flecks of dark red, but the sand quickly sweeps it away. Frowning, Tedan walked a little ways away from the main group, keeping an eye out for anything unusual. There, what was that? He crouched down a little and brushed fingertips over the sand. What ..? But before he could call out to any of the others, the flecks he'd seen were blown away and covered by sand with a sudden gust of wind. HP: 40/40

Quote: You encounter a large, oversized insect. It screeches and hurls itself at you! You manage to barely fend it off but you take -10 damage. After that, he hadn't taken more than two steps before what looked something like a huge beetle poked its head up out of the sand. Oooh, great. Too late. The bug let out an ear-piercing screech and launched itself at his face. "Yaah!" Tedan yelled and quickly brought Arda up to try and block. Not that that went so well, and he stumbled a bit, backing up. And then, being off-balance from the start, it got in a few more hits before finally retreating back into the sand. HP: 30/40

Quote: You see a strange hole in the sand, walking closer towards it. It's a trap! A giant six-foot scorpion springs out and nearly disembowels you with its tail. You barely avoid the attack, but take heavy damage while taking it out. -20 damage Panting after the beetle-attack, Tedan glanced back toward the group and started to head that way, when his eyes caught on an odd-looking hole. "Guys ..." he called, moving carefully toward it. This time, it was a much closer call, the tip of the scorpion's tail scraping right across his stomach and drawing sparks from the Fear shield as he jumped back. "Th-thanks, Arda," he muttered, then glanced back toward the others again and widened his stance a bit. "Come on, ugly. Try me," Tedan challenged, voice almost a growl. What followed was a lightning-quick exchange of blows that ended with him panting, Fear shield very nearly depleted and stumbling back to the group. HP: 10/40 (ow D: )

While Molly was waiting for Tedan with Bix, her phone went off, indicating she had a message. Juggling the giant lance on her shoulder, the Misty pulled out her phone and then looked at it… … AWWWWWWW. Molly just got all the warm fuzzies and was nearly brought to tears of Joy from Clarice’s message (and no, it wasn’t because she had sunburn okay). She smiled widely as she texted her back. lizbot Text from Mallaidh:Thank you so much, Miss Clarice! That means a lot! I’ll keep working hard to make you proud! If there’s ANYTHING you need help with, please let me know! After she sent that off, she also happened to check the Twitters, since she had her phone out. After a few minutes of conversing with Dakota, the young woman let out a giggle. Okay. Okay. She needed to do this! She survived a giant scorpion attack after all. “ Pardon me, Bix!” She chirped to the albino Hunter, and sucked in a deep breath as she cupped a hand near her mouth. “ I’M BALLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN’ ~ !”

"Sorry ..." Tedan panted as he moved back toward the group, noticing that just about everyone else headed back already. "Ran into a little ... trouble. You okay?" he asked Bix and Molly, not really all that happy anymore. Not after nearly getting killed. "Think I'm gonna ... go back and rest." (( Exit ))

Molly blinked as she tilted her head, staring at her phone. Huh. What did he mean by that? The trainee texted him back. Nyxtsuki Moon Text From Mallaidh: Is there a sleep over I’m not aware of? D : After sending that off she pocketed her phone, and then looked absolutely relieved as Tedan appeared. “ Oh there you are! I’m glad you’re alright!” Look worse for wear, definitely, but still in one piece. “ Yes, please go get some rest!” She shoo’d him along, and then turned to Bix and smiled. “ We should do the same as well, now!” Molly de-summoned her lance, and started to make her way back to the Infirmary tent. Bix patted Tedan on the back, his worry disappearing when the other hunter came out of the sand.
"OH jeez. Glad you are alright man. I was worried for a second."
He had no idea what all that stuff was with Molly and the phone but he couldn't help laughing, still cookie affected, as he headed back with her.
